Guys, please keep in mind when discussing the poll numbers that this poll is being held over Christmas. I'm sure there's hundreds, if not thousands who are busy and/or otherwise occupied this weekend. -

Gavati, take off your hater-hat that you've got on against pkers/clans, and I'm not even going to bother with repeating what has already been said. Although PVP/BH worlds are fine for your solo pker, they are not adequate for smalltime clans, and that's putting a stranglehold on medium and large clans. I could go into the reasons but I'm pretty sure I've already done that on tip.it, if not then check my posts on rsc. Anyway, not going into it. With your post I'm more interested in replying to the economic aspect that you mentioned, in that you claim merchanters had zero role in society other than "scamming". Sorry dude, but unless you're buying your groceries from the farmer himself then you'd better know that your grocery store is scamming you because they're buying the produce at a cheaper price than you're buying it at. Much like that grocery store, merchanters of old bought items and consolidated them into one place for your convenience. They would: "Buying all bolt racks 500 ea" and buy from all the people who had only a handful of them. Then, they'd sell you the 1k dbones that you needed at a slgihtly higher price to cover their costs, and a little more so that they could turn a profit. Being able to buy stacks of 1k items each from a merchant was much faster and convenient than standing there all day like the merchant did, buying small stacks until you got what you needed. It's not ripping people off in the slightest, it's the same as opening any other business. With over 80% in favor according to the referendum, I would imagine that the community is not as split as one might think. -

There was more time than that between the GE's release and the removal of free trade. The GE was released in the middle of October if I remember correctly, but free trade (for the vast majority**) wasn't abolished until the middle of January. But you're right, it did work great together with free trade. The GE helps tremendously with being able to buy 'weird' items (ones the average person might not encounter every day) and with being able to buy a specific number of items. That's especially when dealing with small numbers of items. With free trade you'll probably only be able to easily get your items in multiples of 1k, 500 perhaps, if you can talk them into that. But do expect even numbers, because whoever you're buying it from more than likely will have an even number to sell. So what item you're looking for and in what quantity is going to determine the most logical method for you to get your items from, either from the GE or via player trade. **Brand new accounts created after the removal of the wilderness in mid December began the game with the trade limit. Everyone else was able to trade freely until mid-January. -
Old wilderness and removal of trade limit
_Douglas replied to Pieter_00777's topic in Clan Discussions
While it would certainly not hurt to remove CWA, if the wilderness as it was returns, they won't have to. I'm not saying that CWA will be entirely deserted, but that CWA clans will voluntarily leave, once they realize that they can venture into the Wilderness and get some loot while they're at it, with that many wilderness worlds, without getting stomped into the ground by other clans. It's simply not as easy to track a small clan when they could have gone to any world rather than being limited to ~5. Also, with the additional wilderness content added in the last few years, there will be even more small fish out there, leading to an even more robust wilderness than what we had. Every sea needs it's plankton, sorry questers. -

The main thing that I'm in favor of this update for is to get the Wilderness (PVP) back on every world, and to kill CWA as much as is possible. That's what clanning needs to survive. If you hop into the clanning section of your favorite fansite you'll see hundreds of posts about how the clan world is 'dying', and most of that reason I believe to be the limited number of wilderness worlds available. With more worlds, it will be harder to track groups of people, making CWA and RSB clans viable in the wilderness. Sorry to all the questers and cluers out there, but you are the bottom of the food pyramid. Small teams of two or three people will show up to hunt you. Small clans will hunt those teams, and medium sized clans will hunt the smaller clans, and the powerhouses will look to gobble up the medium sized clans. So sorry, but you being in the wilderness is crucial to the wilderness's design. I know it sucks to be the smallest fish in the pond but that's how it is until you apply for a clan. -

625k votes so far :D Be realistic. When you factor in the fraud and multiple votes we'd be at around 150-175K votes maybe even 250K. NO way in the world would it be 625K votes for if this whole system where you can put anyones name in and vote, and blanket vote etc. It's fraudulent and a disgrace which is what will mar and tar jagex for their 10th birthday. But now they have done this they have to follow through. Every 1 in 5 topics in the RSOF is about how people are quitting if they don't bring it back, however when you look every 3 in 5 topics are people complaining about no no vote and that people can sign for you anyways, and then the last 1 in 5 topics are the general ranters trying to justify it and in the process insulting people, flaming and trolling. I found it surprising reading through that the lucid, gramattically correct, well written and structured topics and replies are mostly on the complaints for the lack of No votes. Yet al teh wel writted replys r on da 1's 4 da wild comin bak r leik dis. Personally I don't care, doesn't affect me. If they bring it back then I'll mark some penguins off my week, and I'll stop doing clues. Not too big a deal. And free trade does nothing but cause havock. People will get hacked and then instead of having limits and perhaps being able to limit the damage to your account everything will be gone in the blink of an eye. My 2 pence. Not doing penguins and clues? Just don't bring more than three items with you and you'll be okay, dear! And for those nasty coordinate wildy clues, try bringing a spade, your clue, your chart, watch, and sextant, and dropping the spade and the watch if you get attacked: simple stuff and you can rest in peace knowing that when you resurrect you will still have all your important stuff with you. A brilliant idea: don't bring your party hat clue-ing in the wilderness with you! I know it's a shocker, but for two minutes while you run to the clue location can you stash it in the bank, or is 'looking cute' too important for you? As for merchanting/scamming/the market, yes it's very much possible to buy out an item still but keep in mind the duration comparisons. Currently, these highpriced items are unbuyable for weeks at a time, while someone merchanting in world 2 might only have a monopoly on said item for a few minutes before someone else shows up and undercuts him. And with the GE still being present in the game, it will be a lot more tricky. In essence: relax, it's not so bad. Unless you're one who partakes in the "junk" market, lol, at which point you'll find that your items really are junk and no one wants them for any reason at all anymore. -
This is nice, I see many categories where my clan could be in contention. May I suggest that for categories like 'Most active in TWR', that you award two prizes: one for the clan who is voted most active, and one for the clan who really is most active based on the number of 2010 TWR fight topics. I don't know which clan that is but seems to me like they'd deserve it for actually achieving that.

I'm telling you guys, this particular soaking change will have little to no effect on f2p warring. They way jagex does their 'soaking' items, they ignore 200 damage to start with, and only then does it begins to soak. And even then, it doesn't even soak a lot. So, unless you guys consistently hit well over 200 with your rune scimis, it's not even going to make a noticeable change as far as f2p warring goes. Now, I'm sure Jagex will try to mess stuff up further in the future because of how they worded it, but hey, this one thing isn't going to be as catastrophic as some people are making it out to be. The things suffering the biggest hits from this update (lol pun) are going to be speccing with things like armadyl godswords which give one gigantic hitsplat. Things like dragon claws won't be affected very much, though, because the hit is divided into four splats. Also, pures (who won't be soaking because they don't have defense) will take a left jab because everyone else will be soaking and they won't be. Although like I said, it is only going to work if the hit is more than 200 so again, there isn't going to be much change to begin with.

What is your clan? : The Gladiatorz How old is it? : We're approaching our ten year anniversary in a few months :D Birthday (If you know it) : February 2001 No, but when you die and are born again, your birthday does change.

i still wished them luck on rebuilding :/ 60% of their clan is gmt. They still managed to pull 26 to our 30 in a cwri. Ok, so what's the point of all this? That you're good, or that they're bad?
-
Kong Buddy there was no rivalry between DF and Gladz, just the leaders had words with each other TBH and that's it. A few pkris here and there, nothing too much to be called a rivalry. +1 A couple of ingame fights and a war of words over a week or two isn't a rivalry. For a rivalry to happen you need months and months of arguing over issues that actually 'matter' as far as RS clanning goes, as well as lots of ingame fighting throughout. However, I do spot an issue that occurred in both fights, which specifically is that DF leaders attempted to contact opposition clan leaders... unsuccessfully, then, in retaliation, choose to ignore communication from the opposing clan. Perhaps when fighting Downfall, opposing clan officials as well as DF officials ought to get settled in together before the fight so that these unnecessary squabbles don't happen. Anyway, looks like it was a decent fight and grats to whomever walked away with the most rune ;)
-
What rivalries lol? The only rivalry we have is Gladz recently and that won't hurt us "long run" L... Worded it pretty badly, you guys are taking risks with a few of those clans like Solace/Gladz (they are organized/stable clans). At the same time by hurt I meant it'll cause some damage, but not a lot :P Changed the wording of it Exactly. PvP is a little different than CWA in that it's free for all. In CWA you can pretty much just talk trash to everyone you see because you can control exactly who you're fighting, and when, and how. But when you start talking trash in the Wilderness to more people than you're equipped to handle, eventually things get messy when all the clans you have beef with are all trying to hit you, all at the same time. Choose your battles wisely ;)
-
2-3 planned fights, and then we have PK's and/or non-pvp events happening every day.
-
Well take it from a person who isnt that big of a fan of CWA.. and is still in Downfall - I wouldn't go as far as labeling us as a strictly CWA clan. We do PvP and we do have PvP wars.. and from what I've noticed, the biggest challenge has been finding appropriate clans to war in PvP... Solace, CR, BK, Runescape Elites, Collision, Gladz, The Rising, Poison, 'THE', The Moon Clan, and Ascension could all be potential good fights for Downfall in the PvP arena. I'm looking forward to seeing those fights in the future.
