    Today...

it's funny because on one hand, all the mods seem to be offline... but on the other hand, there's only 6 members online (including the spammer), so it's like nobody's going to even see the spam anyway lol I, for one, applaud him for breathing new life into otherwise-dead subforums and I just hope that he participates in the coveted Miss Hottie finals before his departure
  2. yes your options are going to be very limited to nonexistant >_> lol
  3. Just be upfront and straightforward/honest next time— being dishonest/manipulative like that is a bad habit to get into. Good job with the gym consistency so far, keep it up.

I dont have a dishwasher or a garbage disposal so i just use plastic cups/silverware and paper plates/bowls like a boss
  5. It's a fansite, so yes you would expect them to set the standard for the community. That attitude hasn't worked out too well for this forum............................ Fansites are a relic of the past, made obsolete by Wikis. I will now double down on my post from two years ago and continue to suggest that you go somewhere else if you don’t like it here

I think anybody who gets emotional over politics can be considered a snowflake, regardless of what side they’re on.
  8. Shirtless photos arent essential but they help immensely if you can pull it off. At the very least, like saqs said, you should look buff and strong w/ a shirt on
  9. I’d quit dating for at least 6 months till you have some dope shirtless pics to use from your weight training. There’s no rush, you have plenty of time— it’s not like you’re a woman where dating is a race against the clock
  10. While you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, you’re prob just going to come off as needy. If she were interested, she’d still be talking to you IMO. If she’s seeing another guy and it goes south and she returns to OKC, it’s better for her to see that you weren’t continuously trying to get her attention
  11. Shoulda asked her out on Thursday :P That’s why you always want to pitch the meet ASAP— you won’t know if she’s actually interested in you until you ask. If they’re genuinely interested, they’ll be down to meet up right away after just a couple of messages. Or, maybe she was interested, but then a more interesting guy came along and asked her out on Friday
  12. you'll prob be even more sore when you wake up tomorrow lol. after a week or two of lifting, you'll stop getting sore afterwards. but for now, look forward to the fact that you'll be able to lift heavier weights next time you go
  13. do not go to planet fitness. find an LA Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, YMCA, or Gold's Gym. I go to 24 hr and it's only like $30/mo

I'd change all my stuff to Erin Bolyard but it would be a royal pain in the ass. In the future... Erin is gender-neutral. really? I don't think I've ever met a male erin before. >_> Every erin I've ever met is female and aaron is male. its origin might be gender-netural, or maybe it still is in other parts of the world, but in the US it's definitely a girl's name in the modern era IMO
  19. ehh I think saqs was sincerely just trying to help. I didn't really sense any condescension or one-upsmanship in his posts >_>
  20. it'll make him stronger but it's prob not as efficient as just having a workout program to follow. if he has a physical job, he's exercising, but he's not training. this article talks about it more in-depth, but in a nutshell, unless his physical job has him lifting increasingly heavy objects every week, he's not going to be as strong as he would be if were at the gym, following a progression where he increases the intensity every time so his body has to constantly adapt to increasingly difficult stimuli
  21. veiva dont worry about your clothes not fitting you. doesn't matter if you follow my program or ring's... you just have to be consistent. since you're a gym newbie, you're essentially creating a new RS account with a double XP buff that lasts for about 3 months. no matter what program you do, you're going to see results* immediately. *results, meaning strength; your lifts will probably increase by at least 5 lbs every time you go to the gym. it'll take a few months before you start to notice that strength manifesting itself via your physique
  22. Here's a solid novice workout, feel free to change the days around to better fit your schedule, but you should have a day of rest between each workout (two days rest after the 3rd workout of the week). You're always going to be squatting and deadlifting every time you lift, and you're going to alternate between bench press and overhead press each time you lift. Monday: Squat 3x5* Bench Press 3x5 Deadlift 1x5 *3x5 means "3 sets of 5 reps," meaning you squat 5 times. Then you rack the bar, rest for 3-5 minutes, then do another 5 reps. Rest for another 3-5 minutes, then do your 3rd and final set. Wednesday: Squat 3x5 Overhead Press 3x5 Deadlift 1x5 Friday: Squat 3x5 Bench Press 3x5 Deadlift 1x5 Next Monday: Squat 3x5 Overhead Press 3x5 Deadlift 1x5 Next Wednesday: Squat 3x5 Bench Press 3x5 Deadlift 1x5 Next Friday: Squat 3x5 Bench Press 3x5 Deadlift 1x5 Rinse and repeat. Make a note on your phone to record your lifts so you remember what weight you're supposed to be doing and so you can see your numbers get bigger every time you go to the gym. If you successfully complete all reps and all sets for a lift, then congratulations-- you leveled up IRL (imaginary fireworks detonate above your head)-- and you get to add 5 lbs next time you lift :) Since you're a complete beginner, expect to be very sore after the first workout. The soreness might last a week or longer. You'll still have strength despite the soreness so you can continue lifting through the soreness if you wish, but if you want to be safe, you can just start slow and do the first Monday's workout, then rest until you're no longer sore, then continue the program. Within a couple of weeks you'll stop feeling sore since your body will have adapted to the stress and you can go 3x week. Since you probably don't know how much weight to use, just start with the bar for all the exercises when you perform them for the first time (except for deadlifts; maybe start with like 95 lbs; deadlifts kinda weird with just the bar since the bar starts on the ground). Do 5 reps with just the bar, see how it feels, add 5 lbs, rest for 0-5 minutes till you feel recovered, then do another 5 reps until it starts getting difficult. When it starts getting tough, call it a day, write down the weight where it got difficult, and pick up where you left off next time you go to the gym when you're fresh. Ideally, you'll be able to increase the weight for every lift every time you go to the gym since you're a novice and you'll get stronger extremely rapidl-- just like how you level up super fast when you're a noob in RS. You'll hit a wall after around a couple months, assuming you're consistently going to the gym and consistently adding weight. Some lifts will progress slower/quicker than others. Don't push yourself too hard, it's better to be slightly weaker the next time than it is to be injured from lifting with shitty form. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS CONSISTENCY. IF YOU'RE NOT LIFTING 3X WEEK, YOU'RE WASTING YOUR TIME Your #1 priority/goal, more than anything else-- including getting stronger/leaner-- should just be to be CONSISTENT. Doesn't matter if you have a shitty workout or get lazy/wimp out and leave early... just go to the gym and TRY to finish your workout. You do NOT want to get into the habit of talking yourself out of going 3x a week.
  23. Duuuude you gotta start doing some heavy compound lifts at least 3x a week. If you didn't adjust your diet at all such that you maintained your weight, but you just started lifting, you'd go from being skinny-fat to swole in no time. Lifting's fun af, it's like an RPG IRL
  24. Are you doing any heavy lifting at all? Or are you mostly just dieting and running and stuff?
