  1. Wait, you told a girl you've been seeing for less than two months and haven't slept with that you love her? >_> he's only 17 dude, relax (not condoning anything. I'm just saying that once again this thread is trying to force teenagers to act too much like adults.) Not freaking out or trying to force anything. Just pointing out his mistakes for his future reference. The younger people can learn these things, the better. Sex and love are unrelated. My point was that generally speaking, the sooner you tell a girl you love her and the longer you wait to have sex, the shorter/worse the relationship will be.

  3. Technically zammy flame (and claws of guthix to a lesser degree) has the highest accuracy, as it lowers your opponents mage lvl and with that, mage defence. Well in that case you'd cast Zam flames once then switch to Iban :P
  4. Well you want to start off w/ smoke until you take damage since there's no point in healing when you could poison instead. Blood's only 2 more damage than smoke too. But yeah, blood all the way unless obstacles/movement are on or you're fighting a guy who's using melee. Jagex officially state "The higher level spells are more likely to fail, but as your Magic ability improves, you will cast spells successfully more of the time." in their wiki. http://services.rune...rswiki/en/Magic I know Jagex are wrong about their game more times than they are right though so it's possible you're not wrong, do we know of any research done on this? Can we start some? Latin did a bunch of tests. I did a few tests on each ancient spell and a few random modern spells. They all had the same accuracy. I think XPW did some tests too at some point.
  5. Grey chins were pretty cheap last time I checked. Though right now the prayer pots are what's expensive.
  6. It hits up to 25 instead of 20 and you can use it at lvl 50. All spells have the same accuracy though
  7. It is to be hoped that it is for fun as well, like gaining cosmetic items. Internet respect seems to be bigger now. And just as absurd as taking oneself seriously in all respects. How is taking oneself too seriously absurd? Surely if you can't appreciate yourself how can you expect others too? You don't have to take your achievements seriously in order for others to appreciate them. Case in point: in 07 a lot of strangers have recognized me as the guy with the old fire cape world record and they get really excited. But it's not an achievement that I take too seriously these days.
  8. Iban blast > zammy flames
  9. That doesn't really make it any harder. Just means it requires more time and patience.
  10. 1 def pures can only get mith gloves. The combat bracelet has better stats.

  12. Scumbag Saqs: dislikes how in-your-face many gays are; won't shut up about his Estonian heritage
  13. I was like that in high school. The only way to get better at talking in person is (you guessed it) to start talking more in person.
  14. I see a lot of this 'strawman' and 'logical fallacy' stuff on the tipit forums. I've never really seen it much on other forums and never heard anyone say it in real life, in any debate. Why do people use this on here? It seems quite childish. Simple. It's easier to call someone out on one of those than to refute their point. The rest of the debate/post is then disregarded in favor of attacking this supposed error in logic, which is, ironically, exactly what a strawman argument consists of. This post is an example of the "Fallacy Fallacy" Fallacy. This fallacy occurs when a person commits a logical fallacy in their argument, is called out on it by the other person who then disregards the original argument as a result of the fallacy, and then the original person fallaciously argues that it's fallacious to call his original fallacious argument fallacious and fallaciously dismiss it on the grounds of it being fallacious. It's important to note, however, that I am not necessarily attacking your post or dismissing your argument; because if I did, I would be succumbing to the "Fallacy Fallacy Fallacy" Fallacy.
  15. I'm interested. Do you mean stuff like saying a few chants while mixing potions to give a chance of extra XP/an extra dose (increased benefit), or something like a mantra while cooking to reduce your chance of burning food (reduced penalty)? I always imagined it'd be like 5/10/15% boosts to non-artisan skills that deplete prayer the same way the combat prayers work. Kind of like the skilling auras except with prayer.
  16. I know. Another reason why I didn't want to get too detailed in my response to Sees. But you already know my view on the issue: how about we all just quit getting married in the first place? :P
  17. Brief history lesson. The government realized that it was beneficial for society to have the nuclear family as the individual unit. So they put tax incentives among other reasons for people to get married and to stay married. Each of these incentives were rigorously debated and took a long time to bring into law. Fast forward to now. Homosexual rights and "marriage equality" are only about the quickest way to get the same money. The quickest way to get homosexual couples the same incentives is to redefine marriage to include homosexuals. If there was no incentive to being in a marriage, I firmly believe this would be a non issue. Marriage might've "worked" in the 1950s, but it doesn't work anymore. It's obsolete and does more harm than good. There really isn't any incentive to getting married anymore, either. Sure there might be some tax incentives but that doesn't justify the risk of losing more than half of your assets in the more-than-likely event of a divorce. Divorce isn't the sole determinate of whether or not marriage is "successful" or good for children. If either of the parents are cheating (very likely), that will negatively affect the children. If the parents get divorced (very likely), that will negatively affect the children. If the parents decide not to get divorced and instead stay together and argue all the time (very likely), that will negatively affect the children. The odds of actually having a "healthy" marriage suitable for rearing children is extremely low. I've beaten this horse to death over in the relationships thread over the past several months, I don't really feel like discussing this in-depth again so I'll just leave it at that. Check out my posts in that thread if you want my stance on marriage.
  18. inb4 irrational criticisms
  19. What about polygamy, or people marrying animals? (Not asking you in particular, just putting it out there, asking where we draw the line) I don't think the government should have any role in any form of marriage in the first place.
  20. I believe that everybody-- regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc-- should have the right to experience the pain and suffering of marriage just like everybody else. :)
  21. Fight Caves 2007 Gear and inventory shown here. Basically, since this was the first time doing the caves in YEARS, I referred to my old guide to refresh my memory :D Some of the pics don't work anymore but meh. I would not recommend going for a cape in 07 unless you're very experienced and understand how monsters and pathfinding work in 07. With that said, I'm mostly writing this mini-guide for those of you going for the cape soon, before you have access to really good gear (i.e. barrows) or have really good stats (i.e. 80+ range and defense). Keep in mind that since I wrote that guide there's been a lot of efficiency/PvM/adrenaline fanatics that probably have developed superior methods than my traditional one, so if you know of a better strategy then by all means use it :P Anyways. Basically: -the worse your gear is, -the worse your stats (defense, range, hp, pray) are, -the worse your technique is, ...the more patience you'll need. At 60 range, 45 def, 52 pray, and 59 hp, it took me 4 hours to finish the caves. Would've been a lot shorter if I had better stats/gear and wasn't so out of practice :P If you can afford purple sweets then you'll save a lot of time too. Basically the only threat is the waves with 360s and 90s together. You start each wave in the northeast corner because that gives you the best odds of safety. Your brews are for emergencies only. In other words, if a wave starts and a 360 + 90 (and possibly even a 180) are attacking you right away. You can either try and kill the 90 before it kills you (hard if you have low range/def) or you can run and hide and try to lure and isolate the monsters. If you run to the southeast part of the Italy rock after they both spawn near you, usually you'll be able to separate the 360 and 90 to kill them safely w/ prayer. Once the 90 is dead, consider the wave complete since you should have no problems avoiding the remaining melee monsters. After some waves, you might be down to less than 10hp. This is where patience comes in to play. You wait very patiently for your hp to get back to full before you begin the next wave. Read a book, watch youtube, talk in an FC or something to pass the time. Rapid heal halves the waiting time but at the cost of your prayer points. Which brings me to another point... If you can prayer flash as many 90s and 360s as possible, you really don't need a high prayer or ranged level. The problem is-- if a 360 hits you for 40+ damage, every 1 point of damage adds 1 minute of waiting time before you can start the next round. Unless you have a lot of purple sweets or blood spells. That's pretty much it. It's pretty simple and straight-forward. Just requires a lot of patience and concentration.
  22. Is there a level requirement for the gems? EDIT: Fastest ways to get to Shiloh Village? Ardy tele -> boat to brimhaven -> cart to Shilo or charter to brimhaven -> cart to shilo or house tele to brimhaven -> cart to shilo
  23. I'm going to ask this again: why does it matter if your GP loses value if you already have all the items you want and you refuse to spend it on skills?
  24. That's the way the world works. It's up to you to take the necessary steps to circumvent such obstacles.
  25. Out of curiosity, why does it matter if your GP loses value if you already have all the items you want and you refuse to spend it on skills?
