  1. As long as you can scan the rules page for the secret image you're good to go. Our clan is a reflection of our IRL: no standards, but we prefer them to be somewhat aware.
  2. Have Jagex been successful in showing more integration with clans with the recent update? I'm glad they aren't actively opposing clanning anymore but I'm not sure I'm okay with all this "buddy-buddy" business all of a sudden. I guess I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Has your clan been taking full advantage of the update? (Cape Customization, Rated Clan Wars, Wilderness Kill/Death Ratio, Placing your Vexillums, etc) Aside from the capes we haven't really done much different from before the update. What are your thoughts on the argument concerning clan member's privacy? Should a clan member be allowed to leave the clan channel and be entitled to their own privacy or should they always be in there? Only thing it's changed is that now my clanmates can see that I'm skipping wars to pick flax.
  3. Didn't even read all the replies. I'm cautiously optimistic about this update. Jagex has had unusually frequent quality updates lately and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. They'll find a way to [bleep] this up I'm sure.
  4. Made bank loot in our most recent awards (we do year-end only; 2011 awards are for the 2010 year): Sexiest, Most Laid Back, Funniest, Most Helpful, Hero, Best Sig Maker
  5. A lot of Slayer is afkable. I'd go with Agility or Runecrafting. I hate skills I have to pay attention to. Thank God for torrents and VLC player.
  6. Do not want. As many have stated, if you're playing RuneScape for the graphics you're doing it wrong.
  7. Interesting poll. I'd probably pay up to $10-15 a month since I'm a poor university student and need booze money.
  8. I play RuneScape purely for the social (clan) aspect. Paradoxically, I rarely talk in game and normally keep my public on friends. I find the vast majority of players annoying. I could care less if people think I'm botting or whatever, but it'd be hard.
  9. Hey Swag, I hope you haven't made a decision yet. If you haven't, RBH is the clan for you. We have 3-4 official events a week - usually a penguin hunt, war, PK, and god wars trip. We also have frequent unofficial PKs and god wars trips. We also offer a top notch community who just likes to have fun, not force people to come to every event or return for hours. Good luck in whatever clan you choose and if you want to learn some more about us stop by our IRC #rbh. Thanks! To see our full recruitment topic please go to http://forum.tip.it/topic/287165-red-blade-hunters-90-great-wars-active-awesome-community/ We look forward to meeting you! Please feel free to drop by our IRC channel (#rbh) and chat. You can also check out our boards at http://www.rs-rbh.com.
  10. Hey Relapse, you should check out RBH. We have a great community, impressive war record, and active events. I'm not sure what you're looking for, but RBH is a laid back clan who like to relax and have fun playing the game rather than take it overly seriously. Our events are GMT and EST friendly; our staff is split about 50/50. If you have any questions stop by our IRC and have a chat: #rbh. 11. Hey Akward, I hope you haven't made a decision on a clan yet. Your post perfectly describes the Red Blade Hunters. Most of us are veteran players who have been through the 'serious' phase and now just play to joke around and have a good time. In addition, we do have a pretty good war record and several events a week; but we aren't too strict about attendance. If you don't believe that we have the best community around (who could blame you? everyone claims that) stop by our IRC channel and have a chat, I'm sure that you'll see RBH is the right clan for you if you do. 12. Hey Brian. I'm here to tell you that RBH is the clan for you. This weekend alone we've PKed three times and been to god wars at least that many times. While we try to have lots of events for our members we also aren't overly strict about attendance. A lot of us are older and have stuff to do in real life so we understand that you can't, and frankly don't want to, attend every event or return for 8 hours. If you'd like to know more you can find us on SwiftIRC in the channel #rbh or our forum link is below. Good luck finding a clan! Edit: A lot of our official events are 10-11 British, which translates to 2-3 Pacific. However, we have active people on throughout the night who set up unofficial PKs and god wars trips. 14. And not a single ____ was given that day.
  15. Unfortunately, I think this will be inevitable as more and more players max out and Jagex attempts to keep them interested. The alternative would be to release new skills or skill-like content yearly at a minimum and probably more often.
  16. Contents: 1. Introduction 2. History 3. Goals 4. Bossing 5. Latest News 1. Introduction Hey, I'm TrueBeaver. I've been scaping since my friends got me started in February 2002. I've taken many breaks since then but I always end up back. The account I started on got locked in 2006 and I started this one in November 2007. Since almost the beginning I've enjoyed skilling, questing, and clanning and have continued that up to this day. I'm currently in Red Blade Hunters and have been in a couple clans before that on both my accounts. and In real life I'm an economics student, 20 years old. I like politics, sports, and getting obliterated drunk, but I enjoy no lifing RuneScape the best. 2. History I've accomplished a lot before deciding to post this topic. Some of the highlights are below: Earned Quest Cape - August 7, 2009 Saradomin Hilt split - September 14, 2010 2,000 Total - October 1, 2010 99 Woodcutting - October 19, 2010 16m Zamorak Trip (1 trio hilt, 1 duo hilt, 1 duo spear) - November 4, 2010 85 Agility - November 30, 2010 3. Goals Onto the good stuff. Essentially I have three overarching goals: 1. Maintain my Quest Cape 2. Unlock the Taskmaster Emote 3. Become self-reliant for effigies while maintaining lower than 55% combat percentage. Preferably under 50. As of posting this I am 48.99%. 3.1 Quest Cape Pretty self-explanatory, I do quests as they are released. Latest quests: Elemental Workshop 4 3.2 Taskmaster This goal is a bit tougher. Overview: 21 tasks remaining. These are the requirements and my stats as of posting this topic: I have completed: Attack, Strength, Defense, Range, Magic, Construction, Combat, Hitpoints, Thieving*, Crafting, Fletching, Hunter, Quest Points, Cooking*, Woodcutting and Farming. * denotes a skill I used a boost to complete This leaves: -95 Prayer -91 Runecrafting -90 Agillity -92 Herblaw -93 Slayer -91 Smithing -96 Fishing -92 Firemaking -95 Summoning I'm a fairly poor person in RuneScape, always have been, which makes 95 prayer, 92 herblaw, and 95 summoning especially hard. I'm hoping 91 runecrafting and 93 slayer will pay for most of the other buyables. 3.3 Effigies I have a general disdain for people and particularly don't like to depend on them for anything. This explains why my dungeoneering is so low and has also led to this goal. As I'm sure you know, each effigy has two possible skills you can use to complete it. These skills are: 3.3.1 Crafting, Agility Current closest: Crafting level 87 3.3.2 Construction, Thieving Current closest: Thieving level 80 3.3.3 Cooking, Firemaking Current closest: Cooking level 92 3.3.4 Farming, Fishing Current closest: Fishing level 88 3.3.5 Fletching, Woodcutting 3.3.6 Herblaw, Hunter Current closest: Herblaw level 87 3.3.7 Smithing, Mining Current closest: Smithing level 85 3.3.8 Runecrafting, Summoning Current closest: Runecrafting level 76 Italics indicate the stat I am most likely to get 97 in. Bold indicates a stat I have 97 in. Strikethrough indicates an effigy set I am self-sufficient for. A lot of those levels will come with the diaries: Cooking, Fishing, Summoning, etc. For the rest, I like stats that I can afk to talk in IRC among other activities and that are fast, hence 99 woodcutting. Given this I've italicized the stats I am likely to get 97 in first, except for Herblaw/Hunter since I'm too poor for Herblaw and I loathe Hunter. It's too soon to tell for that set. 4. Bossing A lot of my goals require a substantial cash pile and bossing is my main source of income as well as an activity I think is actually pretty fun. My favorites are Saradomin, Zamorak, and Dag Kings. I will post drop logs here: 5. Latest News As I level up and whatnot I'll post here. That's about it for now, there's no telling when I'll update this. If you have any suggestions for me to improve this, go for it.
  17. This. Or as some people mentioned, have the warring clans choose between bonuses depending on how well they performed. I don't really see any other methods as viable.
  18. As has been said repeatedly, there are right ways and wrong ways to go about questioning authority. I'm sure we've all known those people who openly question everything that happens; you can't have those kind of people if you want your clan/team to progress. A better way would be to ask the leader in PM and get their side of whatever it was. But yes, I've left PKs before because some people wanted to crash. Since I've been ranked I can't really remember anyone questioning my decisions in a non-constructive way, off the top of my head at least.
  19. This. Thisthisthisthisthis. I hit 9 years last month and constantly wonder how I managed to train woodcutting on magic trees among other silly things. As someone said, here's to the simpler, less-efficient times.
  20. Revamped our recruitment post, we encourage everyone to join our forums and IRC even if you have no intention of joining (which you should).
  21. I feel more normal just from reading this thread.
  22. Not offering much different from previous posters. From America but have lived in other countries which may have an effect (or not).
