  1. Even one's like these? Totally useless, completely ignorant and incredibly rude. Useless? No. Ignorant? Maybe. Rude? Ok you have me there. Yeah but sometimes, with certain people, you need to use some force before they can grasp an idea. So sometimes being rude IS the best option. It NEVER is in my opinion. That's like saying "some women just won't listen to me, so hitting them is the best option." It isn't. Be patient and if that fails ignore them. To all the educated forum users you will have made your point and that is what matters. It isn't so much that what he's saying is particularly wrong. It's just that it's blatently obvious the only reason he's made that post is to be purposefully rude or prove some kind of intellectual superiority, and I'm sorry, I don't care if he's writing a cure for cancer - there's no need for it on an Internet forum where posting is a privilege, not a God-given right. I realise Tripsis posted on that thread but really, does that cut it? I know it wouldn't on plenty of other forums. To be blunt, I'd gladly remove all the mathematical analysis if it meant removing posters who are only in the community to cause trouble. Actually, I don't think it's fair to view things like that because broadly speaking, the people who write those analyses aren't the ones being rude. It's other people jumping on the bandwagon and giving them a bad name as if they were speaking on their behalf. Yep, coultnt have said it better. I'm yet to see people like TheAncient and Xpx really be rude to someone, like some others are.

  3. We have cookiez. :3 And yes you should definitely give it a try, you'll be surprised at how much time you'll save by using the best methods to whatever skill. Well -- yes, I've missed the point, and no I haven't missed the point. Point is, I'm keen to get more "efficient" in my training ... You obviously don't know me very well then -- because I LOL'd irl. Oh and:  Success!
  4. To be honest -- I've usually chosen "fun" over efficient in the past. That said -- I'm game to give "efficiency" a try. Wait! Does this mean I've gone over to the dark side? I thought you've always been on the dark side? Knowing her she's going to see that as an insult and ignore its comical value OT: I think being efficient scares so many people because for once they won't just be able to click the mouse once and watch that exp counter tick over, they're going to have to actually "work" for it. Which really is the most fun way anyway.
  5. [/hide] Man I love the Mariana Trench. I'd love to go down there. I'd like to go down her trench too :P Seriously though, thats freaking deep. And the googolplex thing, wow o.o I like reading things like these. Verrrrrrry interresting.
  6. Buy me one next? :D
  7. This is the feeling I get. It's especially noticeable when people are told things that they worked hard for, like a CLS or a DFS or Bandos (without a fury) aren't the best thing for them to have. People get attached to their item and angry at the suggestion that a goal they had was a waste of time from the start. This is understandable though. You wouldn't like working months to buy yourself a Hummer H2 for the purpose of desert cruising only to find out the day after you purchase it a Toyota Land Cruiser is makes the H2 look like a dinky-toy in the desert. It maes you realise what a stupid error you made and that's something a lot of peopel hate admitting to themselves. Even though this is only a game, we're still talking about real time that has been wasted. In runescape however, the real life effort to make the change can be quite simple, just sell the item they shouldn't have bought and buy the one they should have (from an efficient standpoint). Meant more in the lines of CLS rather than Bandos/DFS.

  9. Sorry for the hi-jack, but are these teams alright to start out with? I have Turm, Rapier, CCBow and i can easily get a Spec. So would these teams be alright with to make a bit of money to upgrade to Ely/Div?
  10. Wow i actually just realised how much fuss people (myself included) can make over a game  EDIT: Could it be possible that training certain skills at a lower exp rate could be more efficient than training them at a higher exp rate? To give an example i will use Farming and Runecrafting. For Farming a level of 85 (along with a few other requirements) would be needed. Also we're gonna have to go back a few months for this to work. Now farming torsol with juju is a ~400k gp/7minutes skill. This makes it one of the best money-makers in the game but it also generates one of the lowest exp rates @ about 9k exp/75 minutes. However this is a skill that takes little to no effort to train while generating the funds to train other skills more efficiently. For Runecrafting a levle of either 82 or 91 is required. But for this we have to go back a few years. Double nats/astrals used to be some of the best money-makers in the game but also offered some of the slowest exp. However the money gained while doing them would essentialy save hour/days/weeks of money-making. There are quite a number of skills that could be used as an example htere. Thus efficency isn't always about the best exp/h, right? I know not everyone implied that it was, but i think certain people seem to miss the concept of "efficient".
  11. Lol, are you saying that the consensus of what defines a "best player" is his/her spot on the high scores? I'd advise you to not create opinions out of thin air and argue against those opinions as if someone else had thought them. That's generally known as talking to yourself. The point is that, say, a player using turmoil/extremes/steel titan and utilizing various gameplay mechanics to maximize speed gets better exp/h than the dude in the slayer cape and DFS using none of those things. The first player is definitively better. Also, ironically, the first player spends less time playing Runescape. Makes me wonder where these grinding arguments come from. It's not as if chopping yews is more or less fun than chopping ivy, but the latter is certainly more efficient. Actually if you think about it the player in the Slayer Cape and DFS probably spends more time ON rs, but less time actually PLAYING. Chances are he'd be afk/browsing the web too, lol. But again, there is no arguing your post. Might want to clarify what you mean by "the best" next tiem thought. I tend to think in terms of "best overall" which would infact be the person at the top of the highscores list even if he/she is the most inefficient of them all.
  12. Are you kidding me? I hate grinding, lol. In fact a lot of the research and experimenting I do is to avoid methods of grinding. I don't dislike people for being inefficient; hell, I'm plenty inefficient. I dislike people that do dumb things and THINK theyre doing something smart. Fair enough. There's no arguement in that.
  13. Then nr1 on Highscores is the best player. By your logic at least. Oh wait, but don't you clowns also say that whomever keeps the best exp/h rate is "the best". Oh so you don't really know what defines the best? Oh wait, now you're contradicting yourself. That must mean "your arguement is invalid" Discussion ended. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  14. This is the problem. I don't in any way shape or form see playing efficiently as a detriment to how much I enjoy playing the game. Saying that 90% of efficient training methods are boring and mindless is 1) a made up statistic and 2) only true for certain individuals, with only yourself being identified thus far as one of them. I don't get upset seeing someone do something inefficient, I simply think "I hope their having fun while they waste their time". And in game I don't address anyone unless addressed first. And how does one measure who is the better player if not by exp rates, gp/hr rates etc? Certainly it can't be who has the most fun, because that is subjective and also isn't dependant on the game. Getting drunk and DGing is certainly going to net me more fun than someone who is sober DGing, but that doesn't make me a better player than him. Sadly for this game grinding=playing, so being a better grinder=being a better player. What posters in H&A are asking for the worst methods? None of them. No one goes into H&A looking to find the 3rd best method of doing something, they want the best. And as said before if they want to know what's the most fun they wont/shouldn't post because no one can tell them what they will have fun with. When did i ever say i hate being efficient? :\ nice assumption, clown. Certain skills you just have to be efficient with (Fishing the biggest imo). And as for"the best player" - that is also very subjective so that agruement is invalid.
  15. I'm still seeing a lot of "Do it this way. We do it this way, therefor it is the best and you should also do it this way". But in reality being efficient isn't always the best way of doing things. Being efficient, 90% of the time, is so boring or so much of a grind that you want to kill yourself after 10 minutes of doing it because it takes what used to be a game and turn it into a 9-to-5 job. And you might not agree with me, but you know deep down inside that im not lying. How many of you efficiency clowns get so upset when you run past someone doing something inefficient? How many of you would giggle to yourself or even mutter an insult? How many of you would even stop and tell him how inefficient he is being? The truth is many of you would. Because i've seen many of you do it. And that is sad. The point at which you feel you NEED to educate other people on having fun when you really arent having fun yourself. The point at which you started assuming you were a better player, while in reality you were just a better exp gainer. Gaining fast exp does not make you the better player, it just makes you a better grinder, and i'm sorry to have to tell you this guys but grinding is a mindless activity. Some of us don't like spending 2 hours doing a mindnumbing hated activity for the sake of saving another 4 hours when we could have been doing something fun for 6 hours instead. Each and every one of us play the game the way we think its fun and when someone in H&A asks for the best/most efficient way of doing something then you guys can do what you do best and answer it. But when the word "best/efficient" is not included in the post, please try and keep your underwear clean when someone offers an actual fun method, okay?
  16. Define: high. Would be to hard to define as i see 85 as kind of low, but a lvl 60 would see 85 as really high. So it depends on who, what, where.
  17. I'm sorry, but counting your own H&A thread (http://forum.tip.it/topic/291467-25-dks/), there are atleast 7 efficiency clowns there helping you get better, plus one of them has written a whole guide about the very subject... What are you sorry about? I dont get it. But read the part i editted in. . It came in a bit late so i assume you already started typing your reply by then.
  18. Yeahhhh.... I'd like to see the day an "efficiency clown" manages to answer a post without being rude, arogant, cocky or all of them at once. Like said before, it's not what you say but how you choose to say it that makes people have such utter hate for most "efficiency clowns". Also the reason i find it hard to take people who spend hours and hours calculating costs and making spreadsheets is because it takes me 5 minutes to do a quick calculation myself which would always be 100% accurate as apposed to a half-asses spreadsheet that calculates by the G E price and not the actuall selling price. So all in all the spreadsheet would be an utter waste of time, but i guess some people like wasting time. EDIT: I must give the "efficiency clowns" some credit though as on many occasions they are the only people we can rely on for the right answers and the best methods (not just for skilling but for PvM too). Most of them understand the dynamics of the game a bit better than most of us do and they are even able to put it in simple terms that even a moron like myself can understand, which is saying a lot. I guess if it werent for them a lot of us would not have played the game as we do today. And lets face it, although we all might deny the fact that we like being efficient, at some stage of the game there is something you just cant go without being efficient and you know it. EDIT2: I dont even see what there is to think about. If a space like that could go deeper into how the game works and make other understand the game a bit better (and i'm sure Grimy would pretty much be able to explain almost every aspect of the game mechanics) then i dont see what there is to think about? Seriously. . .

Sorry to drag this post to the front page again but i have another question. I will add it to the original post.
  20. Yep, you guessed it. We're all sissy boys who are afraid of dating 500lb women. Don't hate on us sissies.
  21. Dem DD's baybay! Anyway this is another thing i hate: Scenario 1: Guy and girl have a random arguement and this happens: Girl: I'm gonna go now. You've really upset me. Guy: No, dont go! We're going to talk about this. Girl: Don;t you dare tell me what to do! Im going! Bye! Scenario 2: Guy and Girl have a random arguement but now this happens: Girl: I'm gonna go now. You've really upset me. Guy: Fine, then go! Girl: You;re just going to let me go? Guy: Yeah, i'm not going to tell you what to do. Girl: Oh, so you've stopped fighting for me now? So yeah. . . Can't girls like make up their minds? Please? EDIT: I always thought the same about breasts. Rather a bit too small than a bit too big. But then i started dating this girl that had DDs and OH MY GOD. Yesplease&thankyou. I'd rther have them too big than too small now. Wait, wtf am i saying. NO SUCH THING AS TOO BIG!!! Also about the races. I guess i don't really ind if they are African, Asian, Indian, Arabic or White. I used to be so against this (growing up in a very racist Country) but when i moved it changed a bit. I have a huge attraction to darker skin. Not pitch black, but kinda like coffee after you poor the milk in. Yum!
  22. I doubt he has the old ones as they too were pretty random, but they did however have some relation to my life.
  23. So the day Free Trade came out a friend of mine donated some money to me. I told another friend of mine about thins (he was really just some random guy i met through my cousin [on RS] but at this stage i had known him for about a year. For now lets just refer to him as X). X asked me if i would give him some of the money i just got, and i refused. I had my own goals at that time and had no intention of parting with the wealth i had just gained. X didn't like this at all. So a week or two after the release of FT X came online one day and told me how he figured out one of his friends' passwords and this friend has a lot of money but no bank pin. I knew what he was going to ask, and before he could get any further i stopped him and told him that i had no interrest in "hacking" anyone as i would not like to put my account at any risk. Anyway a few days later i found out that X had gone ahead and hacked the account anyway, but he got scammed by the person who had helped him and now X is still where he was before the attempted hack. I deleted X from my friends list because i have no intention of being "friends" with a dishonest player. When i went onto Facebook just now my cousin had sent me an Inbox message saying that X is trying to recover my account. The reasons are obvious. He's butthurt that i managed take the wealth i had and turn it into something bigger. I have recoveries and a bank pin. There are no virusses onmy laptop as i scanned it just a few minutes ago (routine weekly scan). But i fear that he might still be able to guess my recoveries as he knew quite a bit about me after just talking to him for a week or so after we met. I am about to change my recoveries now, to random jabber. I'll write them on a piece of paper and just put them somewhere safe. Is there anything else i can do to insure that my account is safe from any harm?
  24. I've always been more of a Chance player rather than a Fixed Rate player. I think you'd have a better chance of making the money the fastest if you stick to "Bosses". This would include 2.5 DKs, TDs with a Steel Titan, Bandos (you're going to have to FFA it because its almost always busy) or Arma. Arma is still a good money-maker assuming you get drops. Unlike Bandos it doesn't have a 13k 100% drop so you're going to rely a lot more on actually "Boss Drops" than you would at Bandos. TDs, even though claws have dropped a lot in price, are still a good money-maker because the other drops do add up and with a bit of luck. . . well. I'm going to assume you can't do Nex seeing as you have no Maul and that's probably why you're looking in to buying an Elysian. So Nex, for now, would be out of the question. Unless you're able to find a team that will allow you in without Rigour and using a Spectral i'd stick to soloing [cabbage]. Corp can be decent money, but that's really more of a long term money maker as you probably wont see a sigil for quite a while. Also i would suggest, if you corp, to do CS instead of LS. There's always the chance of you building up your LSp to ~100m or so then getting a Spec/Arc as a LS drop, which would just ruin you.
