It degrades every 10 fills. Maybe you mistakenly forgot to recharge it, so it degraded faster then you thought? Can the Dark Mage "repair" it when you've only done 8/10 uses that it would take to degrade it and reset the counter back to 0, or could that be the issue, if you get what I mean?
