  1. *Celebrates* I guess that's it for now.
  2. The jurisdiction regarding internet policy in some countries is weak, enabling the people there to operate a quasi-legal operation more easily. It's not just mid-African or Asian countries either-for example, Ukraine.
  3. My laptop needs that fan more than my face.
  4. Unless it is an item which has such a low volume that a few trial accounts could cause a massive oversupply (and there are such items, but I don't know the nature of these), it probably wouldn't have a substantial effect. After all, there are runes in Aubury's (formerly overpriced) rune shop that sell for comparably cheap prices now.
  5. Well, when you don't need defense as much.. it's worth looking to see if it can be fixed. Personally, I find it dumb that armor/defense has no effect on damage (excluding damage soak) and only changes how often you get hit. I would rather see the damage rate stay the same, but take lower damage, vs taking fewer hits but overall higher ones. (It would lower the random luck factor a lot more) The problem here is that there is either a quite substantial (or just vocal) group that very much enjoys hitting a huge number. The debate can be likened to the recent bold font/skinny font debate.
  6. To the best of my knowledge, there is a "grace period" of fourteen days.
  7. My plans are: absolutely nothing. :)
  8. Good business sense or otherwise, Jagex has usually opted for the delay-delay-panic button route. I don't think I need to supplement this with obvious examples. It works in canada and I did play on a p2p account before, but not since august, so it probably checks if you've been on a member's account recently (since there'd be no point in giving you a trial of something you already have) I'd try deleting cookies and cache and all that and also the files runescape stores on your computer and try again. maybe it goes by ip though, like if your ip has logged onto a members account in the last __ days it won't give you the trial, idk As I recall someone else on this thread tried registering through a different IP via some kind of a proxy and this failed to bring about a free trial.
  9. Could your internal computer clock possibly be messed up, or could you have a non-authentic version of the client? Try logging in through the official website if you can and see what it says.
  10. I would need more details, but it seems most likely that you were phished.
  11. I have heard that if you train a member's skill to 10, then it becomes capped. But maybe for the free-to-play skills there is a different mechanism.
  12. Considering that I remember reading in Jagex's own words that the video advertisements bring in substantially more money, one begins to wonder at what stage all the ad revenue we bring it begins to merit more of a voice.
  13. Oh yes, good point...oh well then.
  14. Maybe they'll patch it and let you exchange noted items at some point.
  15. The graphics in Rimmington are fairly miserable on the standard settings, so maybe in the spirit of the developers' recent "we-know-best" mentality they wanted to make it easier to see.
  16. I don't know; do you have anything easy to work on? :P
  17. That brings new meaning to the saying "better late than never."
  18. Hopefully I'll be able to see my total XP in-game now.
  19. I'm not an expert on all the specifics; however if a 1 Defense pure could do it, it shouldn't be too difficult for you. Just bring some good armor and be prepared to tried a few times.
  20. Giving players an incentive to follow the rules sounds nice, but how would a substantial fraction of a hundred thousand players be rewarded (and much less, tracked)?
  21. To Ibcrootbeer: That's certainly an appealing solution. However, identifying someone's IP through a proxy with their location may not be so easy <_< .
  22. Oh, 59%...that's why it looked so small *facepalm*.
  23. You can turn the music off in the settings if it bothers you.
  24. They would also probably "know" it was an account belonging to someone else since IP logs would show your friend using a completely different IP other times.
  25. I have not observed such video ads in their natural habitat. I am playing on the official RuneScape client and have not modified anything. Disabling Flash would be an extremely bad idea because it is (quasi-)against the rules, specifically "Advert Blocking." And I won't object to video ads if free players are, to put it bluntly, treated like real people! When they were originally removed I was too new to be properly paying attention, but I don't think I would have wasted my time lobbying for that versus the other issues on the table.
