This "free trial"
Unless you have some tricks up your sleeve, whenever I tried playing through one of those free proxies, I was unable to load the game applet, let alone play. Perhaps my friend could go on another IP and attempt it, though.

Forum Rearranging and a New Addition!
Nice change :)

Effigy nerf
None of it changes anything for me, so it's probably not for me to say whether the apology was adequate/sincere...

I know what the P2P world is like and I wouldn't join it for the world.

Effigy nerf
Mod Mark did apologize for not implementing the fix earlier and mentioned he was waiting for an opportunity to compliment it with some positive XP bonuses like those introduced this week.

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
Congrats on 99 Strength :).

I didn't realize Water had gone/was going P2P. That's another one gone.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
It sends a rather mixed message when they do so much to discourage F2P players, but then recognize them in a positive light by granting many high level pure F2Ps Player Moderator status. That's a sign of trust and respect.

Botting in Runescape
I hope Jagex realizes the bot nuke was not a solution for all eternity and continues developing technology, etc. to fight the next wave(s) of bots as they claim.

Is my computer okay...?
That could be a problem because I have lots no confidence in Microsoft...I guess I'll just log in for now. Now it just found another one...

Is my computer okay...?
Oh, Symantec. Sorry, I thought I typed that in for some reason. Startup programs doesn't yield anything too revealing to me...just a list of pograms that all seem familiar.

I'm not really sure what we can do proactively, but "See something, say something" might be a good start.

This "free trial"
The free trial did little to coax players into becoming P2P, especially because you had to pay for it and hope for a refund if you wanted your money back. This is a more genuine type of free trial. You also shouldn't forget the advertisement revenue, which exceeds $2 million a year. With the substantial amount I play, my share of that was (before the price update) roughly five months of membership per calendar year.

Defense pure; training locations; defence and dungeoneering
You can typically leech for free in F2P, but they tend to want 3-15 combat (because I guess prayer pures are in vogue). So basically you would've needed to leech dg first and train Defense later...:(.

Is my computer okay...?
I just woke up and my antivirus software had done its usual scan and found no less than six "Trojan.Maljava" on my computer (example file name: c:\Users\Toshiba\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\23\33141117-1a51c74b>>smbkhrnvpetuqumq/kvkbwmcrgqfgnrgsgpkwj.class) and deleted them. I haven't been on any shady websites so I don't think I got it from a website. Should I log in to RuneScape or do anything else first? (I was still left logged in here via cookies or whatever).

Defense pure; training locations; defence and dungeoneering
Turning shared XP off is standard practice (or you could accidentally receive Strength XP from a door, for example). You can't separate it into skills, but as far as I know there is nothing that gives Defense XP bar fighting anywway. Unfortunately most of the leechers are level 3; I'm not sure how they'll take a level 50. If you want I can add you, but I'm going to sleep now. Have fun!

Defense pure; training locations; defence and dungeoneering
Unfortunately I don't have much experience with P2P spots. The only ones which I could recommend would be F2P and, hence, probably not very useful. But hopefully more experienced P2P players can point you in the right direction. You might want to consider minigames such as Soul Wars or Pest Control (you receive points as rewards, which can be cashed for XP) but I'm not sure how much attention they require. Regarding Dungeoneering, it's going to be difficult if you attempt to train on your own, since you would be limiting yourself to low-hitting melee. Unless you can find a *very* good friend to train you on P2P, you're probably better off using external methods like XP lamps and keeping your combat level low until you reach around 55 Dungeoneering. Then you can go to world 61 (f2p) and leech, if your combat isn't too high.

The p2p tutorial is completely optional. Anyone with a trace of insight into the mind of a new player would realize that a tutorial involving fighting trolls and whatnot would not be passed up. And those players, even if they did not opt to go P2P, would think "5 Thieving? Doesn't matter" and continue playing.

I'm not so sure about that second-to-last claim, but I appreciate the sentiment-thank you! Edit: I didn't see the second half of your comment. While you're entitled to your own opinions, I would not have wanted an article of this nature to be featured for obvious content-related reasons.

The non-adventures of Spimuncular! :D
Hello again :)...I will try and make an effort to follow this blog ;), although I'm not so good at committing to things.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
I wouldn't have expected much given the single-word answers being given to many questions. A player even mentioned that Mod Mark was a bad Jmod due to this and he gave that question a more serious reply. Maybe the beer and the pizza is to blame...

No option to buy membership with debit card
Is it possible to get someone you know to help you out and reimburse them? I would think at your location that they would offer more than one payment option.

Quick question about dung
I have a suspicion (unproved and unchecked) that guide mode gives heavy (hidden) penalties (not just the -x% that shows up in guide mode). In any case, I would recommend against it since it requires checking the map after opening literally every door (which becomes increasingly tedious if multiple creatures are attacking you as you try to look). As Quyneax mentioned, bonus doors are found by the method of trial and error-you may inadvertently open bonus doors by accident on the way to the boss, but once you find the boss you know any remaining ones are a bonus. I'm not sure where 2-4 minutes came from (a hat, with a bunny?), but just last night I did many small floors under four minutes with a 5:5 group.

Account/computer safety and starting from 0
When my account was hacked I ran system restore on my system and it was fine after that. However, I don't advise that in your case due to the length of time that has passed. Unfortunately my knowledge of the P2P game is near nil, but if you want someone to chat to I can add you.
