  1. ^ We HAVE to have the everyone can do everything because that is the unique selling point of RS and always has been. They have always sold on the fact YOU decide what YOU want to be and YOU can do EVERYTHING or you can build a specialised character. It'd alienate lots of the player base to move away from that concept and it'd lose a fundamental thing that makes Runescape differ from other games.
  2. That makes it sound like Zaros tripped on a rock while laughing maniacally and stabbed himself... #-o That is pretty much what the story of his demise has been all along
  3. The more we learn about how 'effective' the edicts were the more I doubt Guthix. His edicts that 'banished' gods from the world: Zaros already left to save his spirit and managed to directly commune prior to guthix's demise. Zamorak wandered down to Daemonheim and secluded himself just outside the world - seems like he had time to do this rather than an immediate booting out. Armadyl had already left at the sorrow of his aviansies being dead. Seren chose to explode herself instead of leave Tumeken went to sleep rather than leaving. Demi-gods and 'Factions of gods' were never blocked at all. So basically he kicked out Sara and Bandos and that's about it. Everyone else left on their own or just stayed put.
  4. They still do early bird bonuses, but they have never applied them to ALL quests or all updates, just random hard to achieve things (usually due to moderately high reqs) that could be considered a challenge to beat in the first week.
  5. Yeah crew base stats increase by 10% of base each level, so by level 10 they have doubled. Ergo: 70 > 140 150 > 300 350 > 700 500 > 1000 750 > 1500 1000 > 2000 1200 > 2400 So for the last 4 tiers of crew level 10 of the previous crew tier is better slightly, but soon surpassed Lvl 4 500 guy = 700 Lvl 4 700 = 1050 Lvl 5 1000 = 1500 Lvl 7 1200 = 2040 Best bet is to try and swap out crew bit by bit to avoid huge dents in success rates eg swap out 1 morale, 1 sf and 1 cmb guy and drag the new ones up to the level to equal or better their predecessor then do another set. On every single region bar Pincer max crew + Max ship ought to afford you 100% on most, if not all, voyages.
  6. If you have all the ship parts and crew for your region there is little more you can do. Keep in mind new crew for the region will generally start out weaker then existing crew BUT they will far surpass them within a few levels.
  7. As above is the best bet, I wouldn't hold out much hope for an account left to the mercy of hackers for several years though. It has quite likely been through the mill being sold to RWTers and used as a gold farmer and all sorts. It is likely to be riddled with offences and rolled back stats and all sorts.
  8. Just because they do not have the goal straight away does not mean it does not effect them. It is still adding a significant amount of time to their game for no reason if they ever decide to max. It may not hit new players but it will hit player turn around - whether people stay or not when they hit that point where they decide to stay or leave, to try and 'complete' the game or to quit. Heck with the modern gamer mindset I suspect many even start with the goal to max compared to the old days, achievements and trophies have spawned a whole generation of completitionists that go hand in hand with the growth of metagaming. Also the whole idea seems entirely counterproductive to what you want. You say you want competition in the upper hiscores: Expanding the level cap won't do this. It'll allow players already in the top to fight a little and have a few minor rank reshuffles but it makes it MORE impossible for any true competition to occur as the higher the goalpost goes the harder it is for anyone not already on that maxed starting line to reach, let alone catch up and overtake. If people not already up there don't stand a chance what real contest is there?
  9. No big deal unless you are a newer player not already max who just got several years of play time added on to a goal that already requires many years. It just seems entirely pointless and unfair to up level caps for the sake of maxed players to try and grow some e-peen at the cost of making 'finishing' the game implausible for lower levels.
  10. That is the dumbest reasoning ever. Even if they DID up the limit on skills it'd only be a short term fix, how long is the level based competition going to last? What are you going to do when it starts filling up with maxed people once more? It's absurd to randomly up skill caps just to create some hiscore movement in the top end which will easily die out once more as people re-hit max; it doesn't achieve anything in the long run, people are already placed by xp so most of the top end wouldn't move too dramatically in ordering. I mean are you suggesting skills keep going up and up and up just to artificially create competition over meaningless numbers? Seasonal hiscores is the logical way forward, runetracker and all these other sites that offer such hiscores flourish precisely because of it. There is no good reason to arbitraily raise skill caps and effectively punish people coming later to the game by making max much much further away for no good reason just to create a few months of 'competition' which would consist of little more than the existing top players crawling back up to max level with very minor reshufflings of ranks.
  11. Theres no need to up skillcaps aimlessly to allow hiscore competition. First and foremost it would only be a short term bandaid to the issue, secondly you may say 'there's no need for content' but there IS a need for levels to have some content. That's why Jagex are purposefully filling in the gaps and most skills do now have some stuff right through to 99. And most importantly of all, if you had bothered to watch the video and stay up to date with things, they are adding SEASONAL HISCORES which count ONLY for a limited time period specifically so people can compete to be on the top of the hiscores without the hinderance of it being perma locked to those who got there first. This change is a permanent fix to the competing for hiscore without aimlessly throwing extra levels at people.
  12. What were you even TRYING to say? RuneScape / Runescape don't censor to that. Is it possible you made a bad typo? services dot runescape
  13. I think not letting people return on death, or at least not too easily is a good move. It's that mechanic that has probably kept GWD gear higher than it otherwise would be and, to a much lesser extent, acts on Nex via the KC/Robes reqs to get back in. Also a mechanic sort of at play on QBD and Legiones (to my understanding). Compared to all the other bosses that are kinda worthless where you can just meander back in.
  14. ^They used my EW3 puzzle guide (after like 3 weeks riddled with people pointing out flaws in their guide XD) and Ghostly Robes guide from AOW
  15. NO They have said a million times over there is NO plans to up the skill cap to 120 for ANYTHING other than dg. And what does it matter if you start near max or not? It's the same game, just with a new back engine. It's not like its gonna give some amazing new experience that fundamentally alters how dragon slayer plays or how fishing is to training. Just a better back engine with slightly better graphics if you can run html5.
  16. What's it say for those of us stuck in a land where [scamSite]scape STILL doesn't load. Edit: Pro censoring there of the frigging rs website -.-
  17. Wonder if BA being power armour will rekindle the game a bit *looks at non-maxed collector role*
  18. The bacon does not direct stack. 2 Raw bits of bacon = 1 stack 2 Stacks = the next one 2 of the next one = the next 2 of the next = 1 mound All are 1 bite, seems mildly useful for lower levels but waaaaayyyyy outclassed at higher levels.
  19. As observational as this is I fail to see why it belongs in the RS3 launch thread, seeing as we have 100% confirmation it is a separate update coming out like a month after RS3
  20. Tbf my list did have battleaxes in til I came bk like an hour later and realised my derp and editted.
  21. Dragon is getting there, all that's missing now is swords, warhammers, hasta, knives, javelins, brutal arrows/nails and the confirmed to be coming out throwing axes.
  22. Hey it's plausible. First Age - Busy migrating and being little and tribal and discovering the world Second Age - Busy avoiding being god smushed Third Age - Busy with all out war Fourth Age - Busy rebuilding and settling kingdoms on a larger scale Fifth age - Only lasted a few hundred years and was kind eventful what with all the dragonkin and mahajratt and what not.
  23. Wouldn't be surprised if they are loading RS3 onto mostly new servers since the big change over gives them more time to preload and avoid disrupting worlds and then for the launch just redirect the server paths and decommission the old servers. Would be a some what logic way to do it, especially if we assume some of the older servers may lack the tech to run the new engine and we know they are adding in dedicated audio servers.
  24. Oh I see as in: Cash + OH = Enough for MH
  25. ^ Just because you can 2 hit alot of stuff with lower weapons doesn't discount the need for offence, seeing as where stats *really* matter you won't be 2 hitting anything. Also soul split isn't exactly defensive - if you use it in a defensive setup its highly uneffective as it's benefit comes entirely from your offensive output. The more berseker you go with pour out damage the more soulsplit benefits you, it is directly tied to offence.
