Song from the Depths damage reduction
Considering the quest has basically no reqs and is not remotely challenging it is very worth doing. The damage reduction is quite significant on some attacks, but even if it was only like 1% for how easy it is to acquire it'd still be worth it.

03-Jul-2013 - Vorago: High-Level Boss Fight
Something I noticed that does not seem to of been mentioned. From the Vorago update faq posted on the 11th: "This week is Vitalis week - minions are spawned to cause havoc.. unless you stop them from spawning in the first place!" Has anyone actually discovered how to stop them spawning?

Fair enough, but the cave ones by and large look better than the tower ones imo anyway; don't think they really need an update for the most part where as many of the tower ones look quite old and dated eg the overly big and blocky banshees the rather plain abby specs, the slightly block gargs the very out of palce with the rest abby demons.

I coulda sworn the cave ones got updated Crawlers, cocktrices basilisks etc. all got new looks. I think maybe a few later ones got missed (like aquanites and jellies) but they certainly mostly got new looks around the time the dungeon did.

1st person mode (beware scam PSA)
Should be obvious fake anyway: 1) Nothing on their youtube, twitter, facebook or main page about it. 2) Email address it's from when looked at won;t be an rs one. 3) There is no reason first person mode would cause graphical glitches, it is simply relocating a camera in an existing world and a viewpoint we already can kinda achieve using orb of occulus. 4) All Runescape emails say "Hi [display name]" as their database has this data, the lack of this in the email sends up red flags 5) Hovering over the link would show up an obviously not runescape webaddress.

How to Quit RuneScape
I got as far as 'over 60 days play time and played for 6 years' and thought lol this guy doesn't know the meaning of 'addiction.' I'm in the ballpark of 365 days play time with 10 years on my account and that only works out to like 2.4 hours a day on average which does not qualify as an addiction. His times comes to 0.6 hours a day average playtime, half an hour a day is definite not an 'addiction.' Desire to level up is not addiction, minigames, friends and clans are not addiction either. That logic is like saying oh you played scrabble two days in a row your addicted to it. Oh you go out with your friends once a week your addicted to them. It is also entirely false to claim the concept of levels automatically hardwires you in to wanting the best, there's thousands of players who purposefully ignore skills or have no intention of maxing. To claim it as a 'fact' in the way the video did is ludicrous. Arguments about the 100 hours for a 99 thing: So what? In terms of several years or a lifetime that is a very small amount. You spend more time sleeping, eating, watching TV, waiting for buses etc. It doesn't matter that it is 100 hours unless you do them back to back and it does not matter if its 100 hours unless you do it at the detriment of other things in your life and it does not matter that its 100 hours if you ENJOY doing it. 'Runescape isn't worth it' - Entirely subjective. If you garner enjoyment or relaxation from it it is worth it. I mean unless you are a recording musician playing an instrument is not worth it. Watching movies or TV or just hanging out with friends is not worth it, they don't further your life purpose in any way. Learning to cook is not worth it as nutrition is the same no matter what. Anything you do at all that does not directly keep you alive or further your career is not worth it. "I want to alch a rare before I quit" - This segment is entirely stupid. Saying that does not by any stretch mean you are thinking of quitting or want to quit. It simply means it is something you want to do before the inevitable end of your time with the game. Your logic makes no sense at all, I mean if I said "I want to kiss Amanda before I leave school" in like the first year of school it does not mean I'm thinking about leaving or want to leave now. It simple means it is an aim I have to achieve before the inevitable end. "Why don;t you just make your life happy today" - You make the assumption he is unhappy because of runescape, which is a baseless assumption. "Why you are doing x if you don't enjoy it" - When people do something they say they 'hate' most still get some enjoyment from it or they would not do it. We are not stupid mindless animals compelled to continue tasks just because. Saying you hate it because you enjoy it less than other aspects is hyperbole and overdramatic and something we all do naturally it doesn't mean that someone is genuinely doing it for the sake of it despite utterly hating it. Also even if people do things despite finding them less enjoyable it's not a bad thing its a valuable life lesson in adult life you often have to do things that aren't necessarily enjoyable but you can't just walk away and ignore them. I was going to watch the whole thing, but I simply can't go on. The video is just awful imo you don't actually give any advice on HOW to break addiction you just keep saying 'just quit' thats not advice, if people could 'just quit' it wouldn't be an addiction. Further to this your claim that you were addicted seems utterly unbelievable since you only averaged 30mins a day give or take play time. Furthermore all the points you do make are incredible subjective, biased and use logic that when expanded to the bigger picture are clearly ridiculous claims to make. This is without considering the poor video in general thanks to the boring un-changing graphic, stupidly low volume of audio and seemingly unedited diatribe that results in a slow coma inducing pace. The intention may be there, but the product is just not up to par. If you want to help people firstly learn what addiction REALLY is. Secondly give some ACTUAL advice not just keep saying 'just quit.' Thirdly avoid subjective opinions and extractions based on the assumption that people do no enjoy the game and that they could automatically be doing something better with their time; the logic often doesn't hold up to scrutiny as it can be said about almost any hobby or action and in many cases just does not apply to anyone who does not fit in to the same non-enjoyment view set. Finally actually make an interesting video, this is just dull and boring and could've been a podcast since there is not visual to it at all.

Interestingly many of the slayer creatures (and others) due seem overdue a makeover. The cave ones all got done fairly recently, but the tower did not, which is especially notable since we saw concept art for them in the slayer tower video. The video shows Infernal mages, abby specs, Banshees, Gargoyles and Abby Demons. Notably the banshee style is far more inkeeping with the keening mask The gargoyle faces match the new mask much more. Abby demons (though blue rather than red in the art) are more in keeping with their mask too.

I think there will be a more indirect link than that (since they are not a pair) I imagine divine energy will be used with firemaking, crafting, construction, smithing, runecrafting etc. to make things akin to the sixth age circuit. Then the 2nd skill will, in my opinion, involve making more complex devices via components made with the other skills; but equally they have said the 2nd skill is tied to the lore of us changing the world and bringing new things to people so I think perhaps it could be more of a 'service' or 'seller' skill whereby we make things with other skills then bring them to the people, ultimately altering the world around us. Eg you convince King Lathas of the benefits of some new lighting system then you get to install it in ardy. You convince king Rolad about some new enchanted armour and get to forge it to improve the guards.

From all they have said it seems to be: World events like the battle for lumbridge the outcome is decided as a community - in the metaphor this is the boat we are all on and we all have to go to the same island. Then between world events there will be choices in quests etc that impact the island specifically for us in terms of cosmetic differences and variations in what npcs say and who survives what etc.

1) The technologies the dwarves, gnomes and cave goblins use are not common place - most of the world is still man-powered torch-lit areas. This implies technology is going to become more widespread and that there is some new breed of technology derived from the godly energies we collect via diving. 2) We have been told we wouldn't be getting a new large area until current continent is done, however visiting other worlds can easily use small closed off areas eg gorak plane, cosmic plane, lost city etc. Also they didn't say we would be doing it anytime soon, just that it opens up the possibilities.

^tbf that answer does not rule out construction being this year. The framing context is construction is happening so what about others, therefore the answer can be read as exclusively about the others, but I see you already noted that.

Great work citing a largely unsourced article as proof you your statements. I believe what you speak of was previous mentioned in the god letters, in terms of Guthix destroying the world anyway; however the old god letters are not to be taken as reliable sources of lore, because they have been almost entirely retconned and Guthix being so violent certainly does not remotely fit with how he has been presented in more recent lore and, as I previously said, the idea of him destroying the world seems beyond his power on the basis of the elder gods etc. (Where as the god letters from which the destruction thing originally arises is from a time when there was only 3 gods, all brothers who made the world together.) I am unaware of any source at all stating that specific Guthixians would awaken Guthix and that article does not even mention the alarm you spoke of. The lore we have implies such action would be entirely unneccesaary - Guthix awoke from his first slumber due to his innate connection to the Anima Mundi which was disturbed by the GWD, especially Forinthry being decimated. What we do have in solid lore is that the Edicts banished the gods (shown in origins of gielinor video) and acted as a shield to keep them out (shown in origins of gielinor nd reconfirmed in the 'story so far' bts video & referred to in several quests/books/lore things in terms of gods trying to get around them and the edicts falling, such as TWW in particular). It is also worth noting in terms of quests in RS lore source reliability does factor in eg the Darkness of Hallowvale werewolves crossing, starting a war would break the edicts thing is an interpretation made by specific humans hundreds of years after Guthix left, so may be mistaken in of itself. Where as what we are told in bts videos and in TWW is from the original source and/or an omnipotent source. Origins of Gielinor - Story so far bts -

22-Jul-2013 - RuneScape 3!
I think many of the skill reworks are 'on hold' as it were for two things, first being rs3 to allow better newer approaches and secondly eoc to be (finally) be considered pretty much done. From the June BTS we know what would appear to be the construction rework is enroute for this year. But then we also know summoning, agility, mining and smithing have been promised reworks. I suspect mining (and thus smithing) may reach the table after the new wc trees mentioned and divination are launched to allow them to see how such new things fair.

Wasn't that around 2009/2010? Last time it came up was around BOE launch which was where we were explicitly told of the intent to squish everything down, opposed to assumptions that it would have to be done. It was given by the BOE Dev when explaining why obby armour was only allowed to be good inside thzaar (because otherwise it'd interfer with the smithing rework) So in terms of dev cycle and mentions of skill reworks it is among the most recent, only really being beaten by construction in june bts and agility mentions in qa vids.

HTML5 beta discussion
The good thing is, judging by the nis beta, the rs3 java engine is much improved so even if you can't benefit from html5 you ought to run better than now in java. I mean I run near enough min settings on live java and get like 15 fps if I'm lucky; NIS servers i have running on max settings at a smooth 25+fps

There has been jmod sourced rumours around for a while about a mining and smithing rework on the cards of 'to be done' that would involve squishing the existing content down to appropriate levels. Overdue, certainly, but it's on the cards at least.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
That whole 'get 3 ox on crew screen' thing from a few pages back. I've been doing my crew re-rolls daily for like 3 months to try and hit that...I have 2 that do not match on 'flavour text' and the 3rd slot has yet to see an oxhead. Dang my luck blows.

RuneSpan - F2p
It's rather misleading to call them 'rewards' in the slightest, but yeah f2p don't need no rewards. It's how this game operates f2p basically get a taster trying to entice them to members; it's not supposed to be ooo look at all these rewards and awesome stuff I can get. It's supposed to be ooo this demo is nice and look at all the rewards and awesome stuff I can get for paying...

03-Jul-2013 - Vorago: High-Level Boss Fight
With the server issues my override feeling is Vorago, and maybe the new quest, are breaking it due to being patched backwards in to an engine they were not designed for. Why? Well we had a jmod quote direct from the devs mouth saying Vorago 'needs html5' (assuming this means the rs3 engine as a whole) We equally had several instances of being told new quests and bosses were lined up for after rs3 to make use of all the amazing tech. It just kinda seems like rs3 was meant to be early July and they have forced 2 rs3 updates in to early july when rs 3 got delayed, but they don't work right and cause server crashes.

22-Jul-2013 - RuneScape 3!
But 10+ years ago it was still a small game being run by two brothers essentially and lvl 99 smithing earned you the best gear in-game; it made perfect sense. It was never future proof, but back then there was never a long term vision really and it didn't seem like it'd ever matter. It's easy to say something should've happened with hindsight, it's not the same when you are there at the time.

Nothing shows that Sliske stole Guthix's power, like Zamorak stole Zaro's Zamorak and Zaros were both physically connected to the staff. Sliske just shot Guthix with its power. True but I was going for the simplistic quick explanation, there is a Guthix:Sliske link that would explain the green, whether or not he stole power is up in the air and could go either way.

Has anyone else been having a lot of problems with the game?
Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if Vorago is causing issues, I mean the dam dev making the thing outright said 'it needs html5' (assumed to mean the overall rs3 engine) before it was launched in to the distinctly not html5 equipped rs2 and several times devs said all the quest in dev made use of the new engine tech to work and wouldn't be out til after rs3. It seems to me like both updates this month were built and designed for RS3 and have been patched backwards into rs2 to fill a content void due to Rs3 being a bit later than planned and would make logical source of server issues.

The Edicts were more of a "don't mess with stuff" than a "go away." There was an alarm system built in. If gods returned and tipped the balance, then the Guardians were to reawaken Guthix who would "erase" Gielinor. Although tbh it seems they've done away with the whole punishment for violating the Edicts. I can't believe someone that planned to wiped the world clear if gods interfered would let himself die, knowing it would cause gods to return. Let's all be honest. Jagex wanted to get rid of the Edicts as soon as they could. They were preventing prime content. Erm....No. From all the lore we have the Edicts were two things: 1) An active banishment of the gods 2) A barrier that forcefully kept them out. The concept of an alarm system, guardians set to reawaken guthix and guthix erasing the world are all things you have made up. We don't even know if Guthix CAN erase the world since Elder Gods made it and they far exceed him. The Alarm system seen in TWW is an alarm on his resting place, nothing to do with the edicts. Also the idea the Guardians would awaken him seem stretched in that even in the heat of battle in TWW they were doing everything they could to STOP him being woken.

Can't be Zamorak recent lore 100% confirms he is 'just outside' Gielinor via the rift at the bottom of Daemonheim. As portals go I'd say it seems rather Sliskian - Black for the shadow realm, edge has some purple flares as Shadow realm relates to Zaros, as does Sliske. Edges also flare green, Sliske stole Guthixian pwoer. But equally as it is a prelude to the Battle for Lumbridge, Bandos makes an obvious choice as a god directly desiring battle and war. Or it could just be a generic godly power leak, like Divination is based off, due to Saradomin being about and Guthic power leaking and Tumeken and Seren power possible emerging as they reawaken a bit.
