  1. ^ That script is nice and all but it breaks the golden rule: 1 input to 1 output. If you can just hold the button down and it keeps moving and clicking it is basically an outright macro; you shouldn't even move and click in 1 key press really, as that is 2 outputs.
  2. He did that is why I said that in my previous post; though notably the staff was already on Gielinor so it can't be what made him a god. Plus he doesn't seem to of actually used it personally a huge amount lore thing says he entrusted it to his aviansies and when they got dead he gave it to the human followers whilst we flew away to cry and stuff. Zoom forward a few hundred years and that results in like 3 guys in the temple of ikov looking after it. And not very well I might add seeing as it was stolen not once, but twice by the ghostly robes lot for Zaros killing and then by the player/Lucien. And yeah I only left SOJ:Sara thing out cause my post was focussed on becoming a god and in terms of things being ruled in/out of causes Sara had the crown pre-gielinor and was seen as a god pre-gielinor so the SOJ wasn't relevant to that.
  3. Not entirely true we currently know of two ways to become a god: 1) Kill another god 2) Spend a long time with an elder artefact For case 2 nothing says they have to own the item or even be aware of it being there, equally Osbourne has said they *might* be other ways to obtain godhood. Of course it is still interesting to wonder how most of the Gods became gods since we only have clear origins for 2: Guthix stabbed Tuska and Skagaroth using Skagaroth's sword (an artefact) and then subsequently spent time on Gielinor with the Staff, Stone and Horn artefacts. Zamorak stabbed Zaros with the Staff and then went away for a while before coming back as a god, whilst away he discovered the Stone. Sara, Bandos, Zaros, Tuska, Skagaroth, Marimbo, Tumeken, Seren, Armadyl, Karamjan gods and Fremmy gods we have no idea how they did it. All we do really know is Sara has the Crown Archival artefact and has done for some time & Armadyl claimed the Staff at some point whilst on Gielinor.
  4. Runetek is the engine Not to my understanding. Runetek is basically the translation engine that converts Runescript to stuff other systems can understand to produce results. The engine itself, which is being recoded from the ground up for RS3, is the graphical, audio etc. etc components behind runetek that render what it is telling them too. Plus runetek iterations have added big new features yes but they have never been an entire re-write, just bolt-ons of new things on a larger scale than the day-to-day minor additions.
  5. Mmmm so little lore. I mean its only about the elf clans who lived in harmony under Seren and had the great crystal city with Baxtorian venturing out into the wider world. And only about how when he came to retreat he was locked out because certain clans had usurped power for reasons that did not sit right with elves at large. And how the rebel elves reverted the city to seeds and went into hiding in order to hinder the evil ones. And how they are allied with King Lathas producing a fake plague in hopes to over-run the entire human lands. And how King Tyras left his city of West Ardougne behind to venture in to the heart of the elven lands presumably seeking to stop them seeing as how Lathas wanted him killed. Like no lore at all there.
  6. Runetek is part of the backend but not the ENTIRE backend. Runetek is like the array of code options available to make content. The engine as a whole is the very back end that makes runetek work and the very fundamentals of how the game is being rendered from the ground up. Runetek is like the 0.x upgrades, an entire rewrite is the x.0 upgrades.
  7. But seeing as the Tyras camp has nothing to do with the actual elves and are a separate force, a fact heavily proven by the fact we discovered Lathas lied to us and is allied with the evil elves thereby proving Tyras is not involved with the elves and thus not privvy to what their actual plans are. It is entirely plausible that they are ill-informed. One must always remember Runescape doesn't fall in to the old habit of everything everyone says being perfect fact. The sources can be unreliable due to being misled or outright wrong.
  8. ...Uh, isn't flat-out changing some of the effects a good enough reason to give us another reset? Eoc shoulda probably came with a 2nd reset because of that. I mean it didn't really effect melee, but other classes kinda got screwed with the best choice utterly changing.
  9. It's rs3 because they rewrote the entire backend, even ignoring html5 there's a new back end engine. Just like rs > rs2 was an entire back end rework. It doesn't really need to have anything big and flashy to show as such, the fact the back end is changed entirely is reason enough imo.
  10. Did they not say somewhere a while back any dg task set item would not be a part of the overall 'task set' since its primary use was liable to be inside dg with little to no use outside dg. Meaning it could literally be any item slot, my personal bet would be a cape. Most prominent un-used slot inside dg.
  11. He might kill you yes, but the icicles will categorically not kill you.
  12. That would be awful, considering the best way to do it is to let them hit you to low hp, at which point they no longer damage you. Pretty sure I died several times from the icicles due to getting stuck in an infinite loop of getting hit by icicles. (And you can't attack the icefiend while it's doing its icicle rain attack anyway, might as well run around the room.) You cannot die to the icicles they will NOT kill you, they will take you down to super low lp but they will stop damaging you before they kill you.
  13. I imagine many dg tasks will rely on do x y and z within 1 floor type mechanic. eg Mine/pick/hunt and make a t5+ head body and legs and kill x monsters whilst wearing it. I'll be intrigued to see what the rewards could be, I quite like the idea of additional binds being a factor in it. Like easy could offer say a boots only bind and another tier could offer a ring only bind Good idea for elite would be right-click bind setup swap/management imo would incentivise having 1 setup for each class. Making it a cape, aura or scrimshaw would also make a lot of sense so it can be worn but avoids occupying dg useful slots.
  14. I always find people calling meta-gamers arrogant suffer from the issue of being unable to accept objective factual answers. Eg they find arrogance in and annoyance from the fact metagamers say 'this is best' with no shades of grey. Because they have all sorts of subjective views about fun and such and refuse to see that metagamers ignore all the subjective factors and boils down to pure and simple numbers game of this is better no ifs ands or buts.
  15. Worth noting for the dev console thing the ` people refer too (the tilde) is not *always* on the actual key you press. the 'tilde key' (which you must press) is the one to the left of 1 on the keyboard, sometimes (eg macs) it'll have something else on like § and ± whilst the tilde appears elsewhere, however it is still the key required for dev console. And of course as other mentioned they've now made it alt + tilde to open opposed to just tilde.
  16. The elf stuff never ACTUALLY says Zamorak - it says 'the Dark Lord' a name which has never formally been given to Zamorak specifically and no formal Zamorakian links have been made for the elves. It's long been speculated it must've been Zaros or Zamorak, but modern editions to the lore have pretty much wiped out those possibilities. In all likelihood it is some elf, or elf homeworld deity or even a total fiction made-up by the leading elves to hoodwink their followers and confuse the rebels (eg us) if any info should be leaked. Heck in elf terms the 'Dark lord' could quite easily be someone like Guthix (since he did sort of 'kill' Seren via the edicts). And even if it does transpire to mean Zamorak so what? Lots of cults and groups have looked for ways to bring their gods back and bypass the edicts - it doesn't mean they necessarily were doing it right and would've succeeded and it also does not really cause too much of an issue if he comes back another way as they'll just be like great saved us some work now on to the next part of whatever the plan is.
  17. I would imagine the calculator rework project also has something to do with it See here: http://forum.tip.it/topic/319628-we-want-your-input-help-reshape-tipits-calculators-and-planners There are several other instances of slightly newer items being missing for existing calculators, but meh the new calcs are gonna be worth the wait/period of slight outdatedness
  18. Good to here that they are officially keeping html5 mode as beta on launch, shows (unlike eoc) they have recognised that it isn't ready for the majority.
  19. Select the old-style layout preset. Play game. Simple option like we have now achieved.
  20. Definitely there so many bits that could do with being hidden, or displayed with much less space usage. Eg all the chat box filters could easily be put in a right-click on the tab itself and tabs in chatbox and elsewhere could have a sort of 'autohide' feature rather than just sitting there. It'd also be useful to be able to place tabs vertically
  21. Only true if you make it too small, admittedly the size needed for the old-style layout to appear seems a bit big compared to previous interfaces but it does still exist.
  22. 0 adventurer is not a glitch, there is no guarantee they show up with highest bar this is unlikely but not impossible.
  23. The NIS certainly seems to be built with bigger screen res in mind I run 1280 x 800 on my mac and that is bordering on crowded, anything less must be a pita. Though I spose if you can get used to using the keybinds you can have very little on screen other than the obligatory chat action bar etc,
  24. This info is failzor. Healing looks at your constitution level compared to the cooking requirements. Mushroom potatoes only heal more if you have under 68 constitution. Tuna still heals more at the appropriate level. Also so what with the xp thing, different steps give different xp it does not effect the overal xp for making it.
  25. the momentum and xp counters are both moveable in the edit mode from settings and as mentioned esc gets you to the log out menu easypeasy, you could also get it a bit closer to current by shrinking the side boxes a bit to throw the settings menu bar in under them. But honestly to have so little space why on earth is your screen res so small?
