Yeah you have a ways to go in the QP requirements lol. We do not know that it'll req 90 pray and str - those are just for Koschei the deathless (thought may suspect it may end up being needed to 100% all the rewards. Anyway that aside from the BTS reqs only the following stats are required (compiled by backtracking all the required quests leading from noob > the 4 required for this quest): As for avoiding spoilers there's not much to avoid: If you have balmung you can do the koschei thing - the 2 90s and are just extra memories that add a tiny bit more backstory, but 1 can be done level free to get the main events done.

It would be a foolish move - THE major selling point of Rs has ALWAYS been that it runs in a browser with no external download or program necessary. Changing that is basically changing the entire market of the game, the only bigger change they could make is if rs3 was suddenly not longer and mmorpg and was a platformer instead.

26*92=2392 So one needs 92 base and a plus of 8 in other skills... The only one a tiny bit out of range =/ 8 levels is quite a lot at that range! I did use rounded figures for simplicity, working on the basis that the likelihood of someone hitting exact average is quite slim and thus it is only needed as a rough guide. If we are to be precise: 2000 = 80, 76.92, 74.07 2400 = 96, 92.31, 88.89

And besides, it makes cw competive again =D Me likes this aswell =3 The danger lies in if they fully think it through though. If the tier required is the complete rune set you are looking at 4150 tokens give or take. Now whilst in theory that can be less games than 5000, a lot less with 100% wins it can also easily be 5000+

Interesting thought in passing on why they finally caved to 2000+ and 2400+ worlds: In the coming months they are going to become substantially easier to access. As it stands 2000 = Average of lvl 80 across all skills 2400 = Average of 96. But as the year goes on thats gonna shift 2000 = lvl 77 and then 74 with the new skills 2400 = lvl 92 and then 89

Hmm when he says started ev on castlewars does he mean castlewars is getting a revamp (as well as the req changing) or does he just mean the req tweak? I'd like to believe the first particularly as he said 'tied to obtain a certain tier of equipment' which whilst could be true of current setup isn't exactly 100% how it works. (in that the rewards aren't tiered) But im probably being too hopefully.

Honestly (even though I do not intend to play) I'd like 07scape to remain rare free simply because it was be an interesting economic model to observe a rare-less rs and could potentially make a case for altering rares in live RS to be untradeble (with some form of forewarning and/or RS monetary compensation of course) - especially in the case of rares that are spiralling beyond max gp value because there are only very tiny* numbers left that actually move around. *tiny in proportion to active players before anyone jumps down my throat about the few hundred or thousand of an item being quite a lot.

People getting adventurers pre-level are confusing because despite some claims here everywhere states the req is for the adventurer, not just the story. Also only a few people have reported it, I for example have never seen the Botanist without 90 herblore and the Assassin never turned up until I had 90 slayer. In general it seems the ONLY mission they are meant to turn up for at first is their 'Meet the...' mission which then unlocks them for other missions - based on my first few days in ports. Whaler came in on tutorial. Day 2 I had Meet the Missionary and failed. Day 3 I had whaler missions and Meet the Convict, succeeded Day 4 I had Convict missions and meet the occultist, succeeded Day 5 I had Convict and Occultist missions Day 6 I had whaler and meet the missionary, succeeded. From then on I had a mix of missions from the 4 until like the day after 90 slayer Meet the Assassin showed up and since then had missions for the 5 But never a sight nor sound of the Botanist with my 86 herby.

In theory having diango be able to give out all the pre-07 untradable holiday items wouldn't be that hard. I mean somewhere in account data there has got to be a 'diango' block as it were which stores this info - could just make 07scape servers read it but only the first X entries (assuming of course the entires go in chronological order and that they always all exist as either 'no' or 'yes' meaning by defining entry X it could only read as far as easter 07)

Yeah everything so far has described 07scape fees as 'additional' which does directly imply they are an addition to normal members, not a separate entity; so $5 a month for 07scape means $10 total (roughly) from thw wording thus far.

Aside from of course getting armour enough to survive pest control enough to earn the points

Runs pretty smooth on my macbook and this thing can barely survive rs on absolutely min graphics going (I mean i get a respectable 10-20 fps variable, but i also get a lot of heat)

Or it could be that they are working on 2007. That would only be reason for QA being busy, not why he had to recode port armours to normalise degrade and separately recode for anytime repairs. QA is obviously busy atm with The World Wakes looming + 07scape + RS3 beta we have word is due in april + quite possible the first new skill starting to hit some early QA + eoc fixes (which are the first batch nearly all had to be reversed/fixed they probably testing to death) + any other big projects we are yet to learn about. That's true, but since RS2007 is the most forthcoming of those projects (less than 2 days away), I assume that's whatis eating up all their time presently. ---- There was a system update today, but PoP was not fixed. Also, with regards to the system update, this is what Mod Easty said: "Hey all, We will be launching a system update in approximately 20 minutes time. This will be to add some support for something that's coming soon. It's a secret. Shh. Mod Easty" Rs2007? Grandmaster quest? Was unclear what he meant. Well 07scape would be the obvious choice - minor tweaks to pm system to recognise the servers. But if its a secret god knows, perhaps some more world wakes teasery stuff is going to emerge in the coming days? Like more Shadowy figure locales and stuff.

As far as we know, HTML5 engine is not the same as RS3. They've talked about two different projects. Erm no. As far as we know the html engine IS rs3 - at first they were mentioned independently but they have since made references that clearly place html5 as a feature of the rs3 engine. Plus its only logical, they are working on html 5 engine and rs3. Rs changes version numbers when it has a big back end re-write. They aren't going to rewrite everything into an html5 engine whilst in tandem rewriting the engine for other major rs3 worthy changes (eg the customisable interfaces) - they are one rewrite.

We not had this weeks BTS, they come out on fridays. Ah okay, I saw the "Community Round-up" and thought it might be the BTS. They do one of them weekly too about all the random junk jmods and stuff have been doing like events and stuff.

Basically, if your repeatedly open a urn without restarting the game it always yields the same loot. I'll ask mod pi (he's working on rs3 engine) whether they are working on degrade mechanics next time he's in his friends chat. But how can you repeatedly open an urn? Once opened the options vanish.

Tbf the nature of an mmorpg means things get sloppy but thats where complete re-writes come in handy - they allow optimisation. As RS3 is developed they can create a degrading system in the engine that RS2 didn't have thus allowing them to tidy up Barrows>present degrading. Also @ above how on earth do we know when the pyramid plunder loot is calculated?

It is not intentional... I have no idea why people ever thought you would be able to. Runescape and Combat beta - nope Runescape and RSC - nope Runescape and funorb - nope Runescape and realms - nope (I think) But for some reason runescape and 07scape might be different... I am really looking forward to the reopening :), will be making guides and stuff when I work out the most efficient things to do. And at least my 2 years membership I bought ages ago is going to have a use lol. Yeah its a pretty basic barrier put in place to avoid un-necessary corruption/complications. Logging into any of the games a portion of your account data gets moved from storage to the live game and sent back once you log out. (Hence things like hiscores update after you log) Allowing multiple games to access the account at once causes issues in some much as conflicting data being sent back and data availability eg what if you are online on two games and both took 100 as your total play time then you log off one and it sends 108 back, then you log off the other and it sends 102 back - it's going to get confused as it shouldn't be a lower value. Not to mention the pm chat system runs on a separate server for the game to allow inter-game communication - you can't be logged on to that twice with the same account. Why anyone had any hope at all of 07scape not conforming to this same basic rule is beyond me.

The Self-Development Thread
My main goal in life since I was around 12 is to becoming a published author, preferably a bestseller but thats rather luck of the draw. I am currently approaching a year since I graduated with a degree in English and Creative Writing and unemployed thanks to crummy recession job market blah blah; but it's giving me plenty of time to work on my manuscript to hopefully have something to begin pursuing publication with around 2014. Been doing a chapter a week lately (after a long period of procrastination/planning) so looking set to have a nice edit through of the first 6 chapters in March and send them out to various readers for initial feedback. Also working on general fitness, I been doing weights for a while and slimmed down a fair bit from that whilst gaining size but need to get cardio in to get proper 'toned' as they say - did have a nice running routine going but dark mornings and winter weather has kinda staled that a bit so hopefully be restarting that properly soon.

I can see the development team being very strict in whats added anyway. Could just be simple things like F-Keys see. etc True but there's only so much work that can be done on those little tweaks and they suggested they would be hiring a new team for this. They aren't just gonna be like well you did well for that 3 months of dev work bye now! Or let them sit around making paper airplanes between creating holiday events.

are you serious? All that shows is the massive amount of interest from people who are no longer members. Perfectly serious - given that people who care about the vote are going to be Runescape players in some form or other; therefore those who looked but did not vote can be logically assumed to be predominantly rs players who do not care about or do not support 07scape. Meaning the comparative numbers clearly show those who do support are a minority. Unless you are genuinely suggestion a logical conclusion is that of those 2m hits less than 214k are actual rs players who looked but did not vote - now that would be an absurd statement. I am saying the majority of those hits are former players who CAN'T vote, because they are not members. The vote has gone fairly viral in loads of different places, there are so so many former runescape players interested in this. So often the response to you play runescape on a non related webpage, is "Oh I used to play that, then X ruined it and I quit", these hordes of people are the ones making up those numbers, not people checking the vote page because they don't care about it. I don't think all that many quitters would come to look compared to players that are current - many who quit y'know quit and move on. Many who did quit but are still interest did re-register to vote. And as I said it is utterly ludicrous when we clearly have around 780k member accounts on the hiscores, Jagex gave us stat of 1.8m active accounts etc. to suggest that less than 214k of 2m hits are not rs players.

I have to say, allowing even a ~500k margin for false 'unique hits' (eg same user different systems/networks) the 2m hits vs votes does kinda put a nail in the coffin of the argument that those who wanted this were the majority. Heck even allow ~1m margin for false and it's still a minority giving support.
