  1. Not really true. Alter or remove all remaining items that have an element of randomness about them that can be seen publicly - eg flowers. That 1 alterations would stamp it out pretty throughly as far less people would partake if they cannot see the outcome with their own eyes or had to go else where (eg irc) to do so. Couple that with a rule change and possibly and Jagex made system and you'd stamp out a further persistant few who would be willing to risk it as long as it's within the rules leaving behind a relatively small number who could be managed via bannings and such.
  2. I think in 07scape Edgeville is the winner, as far as I remember that was always the speed route of choice prior to slayer ring.
  3. If thats true GF any pretense the poll had a purpose other than PR
  4. Might be worth an update to the guide to explain the 3-step tricks to finding combos since they are the fastest way to do it. Weights Start with 2 then swap to 5. +33% - 5 is right -33% - 2 is right -16% - 1 or 3 +16% - 4 or 6 So in 2 or 3 steps you can 100% get the right weight. Baits Think of the Baits as the points of an octagon where each is neighboured by its similarities. eg Worm > Shrimp > Crayfish > Grey Moth > Green Moth > Locust > Cricket > Maggot > Worm again. Start with any free bait (use Worms as an example) Move 3 or 4 steps around the octagon (So Grey moth, Green moth or Locust depending on which way you go) Example 1 - 4 Step to Green Moth +33% - Green Moth is right -33% - Worm is right -16% - Similar to old bait - Shrimp or Maggot +16% - Similar to new bait - Grey Moth or Locust 0% - Two baits not similar to old or new - Crayfish or Cricket Example 2 - 3 Step to Grey Moth +33% - Grey Moth -33% Worm -16% - Shrimp or Maggot +16% - Crayfish or Green Moth 0% - Locust or Cricket Example 3 - 3 Step to Locust Would be same again except +16% is cricket or green moth and 0% is Grey Moth or Crayfish. In all 3 cases 2-3 moves for 100% bait Hooks Jump to a hook from a different pairing. +33% - Correct -33% - Old hook +16 - Other hook in pair -16% - Other hook in old pair 0% - In 3rd pair. Just slightly more focused than the currently listed methods, but offers much faster results with 9 combos max needed to find 100%.
  5. I doubt it - it's just runescape themed holiday opposed to 'easter' plus Mod Pips(?) said the first new skill will be out in summer. Awh, damn. I'm still keeping my hopes up - side note, since when have Jagex Mods been truthful about when new content is truly coming out? :P Like every single time. Sure schedules change but we've never been told an outright lie of when content will be - hence why they always start out vague ("We hope to dev it next year" "It might get done next year" "It'll probably be a few years yet") Then move to slightly more accurate "Early next year" "Summer") then get even tighter ("Next few months" "a few weeks") then turn up on bts.

  7. Your problem is you are trying to display a link to the image as the image you need the direct link - the web address of the ACTUAL picture not the imageshack page showing the picture. eg http://img818.images...08/63730295.png and http://img268.images...3/cashpilea.png
  8. Nothing wrong with hunter!
  9. It's also a bridge that leads to someones house and an alternate path to the cooking guild.
  10. my 2010 macbook pro can do opengl in the client but only on min settings.
  11. Tbf the video was very specifically spoiler free of the plot, so I wouldn't write off anything due to it. However the fact they outright said 140 cmb to do the quest and other reqs are just for rewards doesn't bode so well for anything we'd speculated actually happening to do with Zaros etc. unless the rewards have to be 'unlocked' with further little mini-quests that do give us more.
  12. Since when did they remove software mode? Also the point they made in their post about software mode was specifically that they do not understand why most use it because it gives worse performance than other modes for most - ergo many people used it incorrectly thinking it maximised their FPS due to being the lowest setting.
  13. City was already explained in the last quest. yeah, city's gone cause the seed reverted. why did the seed revert? http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Prifddinas_report Teh report specifically states with fear of attacks from the East and the Dark Lord the Elders purpose fully reverted the city - the implciation being this was done to stop others having access to it's power - eg the Tower of Voices that allowed elves commune with Seren even after the Edicts.
  14. Saying they only achieved something due to the spam is in no way, shape or form the same as saying the votes should be discounted. It is just an observation of causality, just because people note that Jagex pulled a big PR stunt that caused the vote to do more does not mean they are discrediting the votes it garnered.
  15. In many ways I think, to be an effective goldsink, construction should have some inbuilt relation to gp lvls or GE trade ratios or something like that. But for this to work it needs to have good solid repeatable content that is worth doing. That way if its worth doing and tied to the economy as a whole inflation would up the cost of it whilst more people using it (and thus curbing or reversing inflation) would lower cost. I mean of course it'd also have to factor in the player so players with banks worth like 5 billion would have to pay more than players worth less. Even a simple 'housing tax' thing could work IF houses were given good solid usable benefits.
  16. Agreed - I never fully understood that. Part of me kinda feels like it would be a clever move to make agility into more combat-linked stat (but not outright combat stat) I mean it could aid in avoiding hits and raising attack speeds. Other than that the only big thing that could be done (to my mind) is recoding routing to use a sort of automated parkour type system so subject to our level we can jump ledges or gaps, hop walls or fences, traverse small water spans just sort of general open up alternate ways to move in the world - heck could even add in some ninja/assassin type gear honed to this play style that allows you to do even more - eg a sort of batman/assassins creed type cuff that can have like a 'nail gun' and grapple build in to allow on the fly climbing handhole creation and tightropes/grappling too.
  17. Why? They are weakening the relationship between energy and agility - so thats a changed in course of dev number 1. Number 2 and 3 are separate points that we may be seeing in the coming months, jsut cause they aren't happening now doesn't mean they been scraped.
  18. That's just conspiracy theories, it's reasonable that advertising increased the voting rate rather than the other way around. Of course they'd get the poll up before they start adding links to it everywhere. Yes, the poll is fishy, these polls always are (even stuff like Portal 2 early release promotion was fishy), and pop-ups are annoying (when will I be able to hide that stupid goblin?!), but these points in no way invalidate the level of interest people have expressed in the old servers. How is it a conspiracy theory? No-one said it was surprising advertising increased vote rates. The point was the fact the vote was out for a few days with a steady advertisement stream, then as it slowly died to very low vote rates they suddenly dragged 750k tier down to 500k and unleashed an avalanche of adverts. Also no-one has remotely claimed that what Jagex did invalidates people's votes, only that the way Jagex handled it makes it very obvious what tier they wanted because they pulled out big pr stunts every time the vote flagged plus modified the vote tiers plus went from polling to 'guage interest about possibly doing it' to 'omg we have a server out now!!!!!!' plus inspite of where the vote ended up gave out 6 months of free use anyway.
  19. The sparseness is justifiable though: 4 week month (in update terms) Assume 1 week off as normal. 1 week is taken by the delayed TWW 1 week by warbands 1 week by combat tweaks + all the other small tweaks Pretty full month there.
  20. Why? Drygores are already highly valued because despite the dual vs 2h thng they are sufficiently better than chaotics (maul specifically) to be worth using.
  21. The run changes concern me slightly - it sounds like perks of training agility are being dragged down some what with no replacement purpose. Proper dual wield mage kinda excites me - Ice barrage + Bloodfire barrage for ubermage anyone?
  22. Seriously can't people read the thread? For like the 4th time in the past 3 pages NO. (Not to mention many confirmations much earlier on) Doubles are ONLY goods voyages. There are only single and trio stories.
  23. I see where your coming from, but that is ind of isolating the advertisement point from the bigger picture. There's also the context that this avalanche period coincided with Jagex quietly changing the tiers moving practically all of the 750k tier to 500k and some of 500k to 250k, which in of itself suggests they wanted it to reach these higher factors. Then there's also the factor that after voting picked up again advertising suddenly eased off again until the exact point at which it started flatlining again. At which point, despite the original thing being 'a poll to gauge interest to look into doing it', we suddenly had 'we are working to try and get a server up right now! It could come out early for voters'. Then when that only made a small bump there was a sudden amendment a few days later to say they'd have it up and running in a matter of days. Certainly a surge of advertising alone doesn't mean much, but the fact it neatly coincided with the vote flatlining and parameters being altered makes it a bit suspect to Jagex worrying about underperformance - even more so when in the even larger picture Jagex repeated sudden bursts of PR at times when the vote was flatlining.
  24. The thing is: It already had a news post. It already had semi-regular tweets and fb posts. It already had youtube videos going up. There was clearly an ongoing program of advertisement there. Then all of a sudden right as the poll was almost dead: Counter moved to front page with a button that insta-voted; not even going to the info page it just voted if you clicked it. In-game banner ad In-game pop up ad Facebook and twitter utterly swamped in posts about it. Loads of news posts about it. The point people are making isn't that they brought out advertisements - they were already there - it's the fact that there was a very sudden, very noticeable avalanche of advertisements at the exact time the poll was flatlining combined with the front page button that was sort of slightly underhand in that it insta-voted without even directing people to the info page before hand.
  25. Note quite true. It was based on the fact that tier was the most viable business model to make continued gains from. Then add in sudden move to front page, in-game ads and heaps of social media spamming when the vote started to flat-line Then add in that the 750k tier was basically entirely moved down to 500k tier when it became obvious it would not get that high. Then add in that even though the poll was 'to gauge interest to looking into doing it' they suddenly spent a mass of time and delayed TWW to get servers live as the vote dipped again. Then add in with the vote still flagging they said in QAs if it got within around 20k of a tier they'd do it anyway. Then suddenly despite being 50k short of the 'no extra charge model' its suddenly free for 6 months. Yes it is somewhat assumption based - but all the evidence points to Jagex doing everything they possibly could've (short of adding fake votes) to make the top tier 'no extra charge' model happen because there is a very clear chain of PR moves that altered the original conditions of the poll and all worked to push towards the top tier stuff, after it was moved down to 500k
