ETA's given by Mod Emilee etc are ETA to the start of the update process - eg if they say eta 2pm the 1 hour warn pops at 2pm. No, that shouldn't be how it is. The one hour warn was created for those in dangerous situations or timed situations to have time to prepare themselves before getting autokicked from the server. After the one hour time we get the ten minute countdown for the actual update. That countdown is the actual 'update'. I fail to see your point, I never said there would be no 1 hour; I was just pointing out the ETA's given by Jmods on the forums have always coincided with the 1 hour warning, which marks the start of the entire update process, not with the time the update will a ctually be in-game. How it works is Mod Emilee reports an ETA of 2pm That means AT 2pm the 1 hour to update warning pops Then at 3pm the update happens. I've been online for nearly every update for the past 5 years and always check for rsof etas - I know how they work by now.- Future Update Discussions

I believe all the Gods have that power. But it's not explicitly stated anywhere, just sort of implied - strongly in the case of Guthix. Also, Mod Emile has confirmed that the quest will be today. Cheers. It is confirmed Guthix can shape-shift; it said so in the old god letters and was discussed earlier in this thread - Even in the BTS video they mention the butterfly artefact we find being shaped like 'one of guthix's forms' Yeah, I was 99% sure in the case of the Guthix, but I am unsure with regards to the others. I sort of assume that they can. Yeah it would make sense if they can, I mean Amascut has been shown to do so, Mahajaratt can do it and even we the player can do it on several occasions.- Future Update Discussions

I was referring to after Azzandra's release. If he was such a feared and powerful whose loyalty to Zaros was unwavering, why wouldn't Zemourgoul and Co. sense his release and try to deal with him right away (especially since Zemourgoul seems to be contemplating doing that already) rather than letting Azzandra scheme away in the desert/digsite and what not? Could they have? Azzandra was a match for post-artifact Lucien, and he leads the Zarosian faction. I get the feeling that they couldn't stop him if they wanted to. ^Alg's point is very good - Azzandra is too powerful they CAN'T hope to kill him without working as a team and all we have seen shows the Mahjaratt are useless at that. Plus again they have NO desire to 'deal with him' outside of the ritual - doing so just shortens their lifespan. This is a VITAL part of mahjaratt lore you seem to be missing - they DO NOT want to kill each other EVER outside of the ritual because the ritual requires a sacrifice to work and with no females* left they have a finite number of sacrifices. Wasting any by killing them early just shortens their lifespan by several hundred years - this is why Enkhara and Anthankos don't try to kill each other despite being the two who are in a very obvious head-to-head all the time. *No females that will actually mate since Enkhara is in love with Zammy and won't. While I do think that's plausible logically that they would abstain from fighting one another given that they are dependent, biologically, upon one other for survival, it's also true that the race as a whole is quite bloodthirsty, warlike, and split between the factions of Zaros and Zammy. But even if we accept this theory, it's known from Zemourgoul's notes that there times when he was looking for other Mahjarrats as sacrifices who were hiding from him. If he has the ability to search for them, why wouldn't he do that rather than leaving it to luck/chance that he might find Lamistard? Where is it implied that this tactic has been successful? Interesting. RS wikia, unreliable though it is, suggests that his weakness (having skipped the last few rituals) makes him "exposed". 5 - Nothing says he left it to luck/chance to find sacrifices - thought notably he cannot just decide as they all come together and fight with the loser being sacrificed. Lamistard happened to tunnel into his basement as he was trying to hide so Zemergoul locked him up until the ritual where he could be used. Also why bother seeking anyone out? It is established in the run up to the ritual they are running low on power and weakened, plus all (or most) of them are going to come to the ritual of their own volition - no pont spending magic and effort chasing down people who are gonna come to you anyway. Also none of the notes say he actively searched for anyone. Anthankos says 'if he can be caught he could be a good sacrifice choice' but it doesn't say anything about actually actively chasing him down. Mizzarch says 'he is an easy target' - again no tracking down Lamistard says 'Could be the next one we choose to lose the next fight.' - again no chasing down mentioned. Azzandra, Bilrach, Enkhara, Hazeel, Jhallan, Khazard, Kharshai, Lucien, Ralvash, Sliske, Wahisietel and Zemergoul say nothing of the sort about being sought out. As for tunnelling working it is implied simply because Jhallan thought it would work, as did Lamistard and notably neither were discovered in normal ways - Lamistard bodged the tunnel and Jhallan was caught out by Lucien's Stone of Jas power.- One Piercing Note - Cithara
Damaged books don't count. Also Team Cape? Whats that? And Mage book?- Requirement for Emerald Bolts
Karils cannot fire anything besides Bolt Racks I thought? Also, I'd not get dragon x bow, Emerald bolts is just about the only thing you can fire from them, ruby, diamond and royal bolts all cannot be fired from a Dragon Crossbow. I was thinking of main-hand pistol - but apparently thats been properly patched now to be only racks.- Behind the Scenes: March 2013
Well they got 07scape back they need SOMETHING to whine about now don't they?- Future Update Discussions

It's worth noting that they've also changed the other two 'main' gods since discontinuing the god letters (And from their old cameos and statues). Original Zamorak looked like a werewolf, then a generic horned humanoid (Exhibit A), original Saradomin was Charles Darwin (Exhibit B). I get the impression that they've solidified the backstory/canon/'plot' of the game since then. Well the god letters period as a whole has basically been retconed since it was built on the premise of RS only having 3 gods - Sara, zammy and guthix all of whom were brothers and created the world together. It was a lore built for a small game never designed for great expansion or longevity that has been completely revamped over the years.- 11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
I thought there was something in the works about fixing jade statues? There is! But it still can take a month or 2 before it is going to be implemented.. What is going to be fixed soon (as in along TWW) is the degrade rate of the PoP armour. This is going to be similar to Nex gear! Yeah just because its in the works doesn't make Jade any use to me NOW. Plus they said they'd be addressing making them all more useful so even then jade could be a poor option.- Can't Access My Account
I would point out - what use is your account if you haven't even sorted getting the game to load due?- Behind the Scenes: March 2013
Gambling effects more than those who take part. Gambling causes large amounts of wealth to accumulate within a select group of players, this in turn allows top end items to maintain ridiculously high prices that even the best moneymakers outside of gambling have to save up towards - it distorts the economy basically. Plus the associated RWT, spam bots, scamming etc detract from the game experience of others in various ways.- Can't Access My Account
Solution to none of the java applets loading - fix your java install. Meaning: 1) Check its up to date 2) Uninstall and do a clean reinstall 3) Make sure you are using a browser that can cope with it (eg chrome on macs can't do java atm)- Tree shaking Scrimshaw
It has absolutely no use what so ever for MTK. It increases nests when woodcutting. On MTK the woodcutting you actually do for favour yields no returns, so no use there and when you collect you are NOT woodcutting so it doesn't apply.- 11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
I'm now coming up to being able to build my totems, what is generally thought of as a good setup atm? I'm thinking either 2 teles and 2 trees or 1 tele, 1 pandora and 2 trees or maybe 4 teles. I mean I don't really want/need more xp missions so parrot sucks and obv as it stands 1% boost from jade is utterly useless to nearly every trade good mission.- Behind the Scenes: March 2013
Not really true. Alter or remove all remaining items that have an element of randomness about them that can be seen publicly - eg flowers. That 1 alterations would stamp it out pretty throughly as far less people would partake if they cannot see the outcome with their own eyes or had to go else where (eg irc) to do so. Couple that with a rule change and possibly and Jagex made system and you'd stamp out a further persistant few who would be willing to risk it as long as it's within the rules leaving behind a relatively small number who could be managed via bannings and such. Far less people, maybe. But that doesn't mean nobody would be doing it. It IS the best gp/hour method at the moment after all. As for a Jagex-made system... The only thing that would solve is the scamming. And then, changing the rules to add something for gambling would only work if they actually did something about the reports. And even then, people could just do all their gambling talk in an irc room and not have to worry about people reporting them. If there was far less people willing to gamble due to rules and no in-game way to conduct it, it wouldn't be the best gp/hour method anymore precisely because it would be much harder to do. Certainly there is no way to 100% stamp it out, but the same can be said of anything in-game - you can't 100% stop lurers or scammers or beggars or any other faction. What you can do is seriously diminish them by rules and tweaks that make their efforts more futile due to lack of 'customers' (for want of a better universal term) thereby making it less appealing to do. Re-adding trade restrictions can 100% stamp it out as they won't even be able to transfer the wealth to the other player. Or it'll just bring back junk trading and thereby not really achieve anything other than making low level junk items really hard to get for the noobs who need them.- Behind the Scenes: March 2013
