  1. For me the worst skill is firemaking because it doesn't actually DO anything really. Whether you enjoy them or not or bypassing them by buying supplies or not all the other ones at least do or provide something useful and progress to give more variety or more useful things. Firemaking be you level 1 or 99 you can make a fire and a fire isn't even that useful in Runescape. Also I'd question you reason on farming because you by no means have to wait a day to use a few seeds - trees are the slowest and the majority of them are 14-16 hours grow time (which isn't that bad since they are just for xp really and irl trees take years to grow) all the 'normal' things range from a few minutes to maybe 2 hours. In terms of useful stuff to grow herbs are the big cash cow of farming and they take 80 minutes to grow. Plus the reason it isn't immediate is quite simple - farming takes time. If you go outside and swing an axe at a tree or cast a fishing line or mine a rock you immediately get something, if you go outside and stick some seeds in the ground your gonna be waiting months for them to actually grow into something. Plus its not like to train farming you sit there all the time, you do a farm run that takes only a couple of mins then go do whatever esle you want go do another farm run a while later and get massive chunks of xp or profitable herbs or w/e. Also even if it did take a day for stuff to grow it wouldn't take over a year to use 1,000 seeds - 1000 seeds split between 7 plots (the number of tree plots) is 143 - 1,000 seeds split between 8 plots (the number of allotments) is 125 and they take 5 (maybe 3? been a while) seeds to even plant. About the only seed type that would take over is spirit trees or elder tress since they are like 3 day grow time and have very small number of plots.
  2. True but there is no way in-game to check for trim reqs without owning the main cape.
  3. I think its a nice feature to add instead of making us run to specific places to get a slightly messy chatbox list and all told its not like its gonna eat up dev budgets. All the graphical assets for that kind of interface already exists and all back-end metrics that track if things are done or not exist for the cape in the first place, so really its just a quick job to make information more accessible. Which both makes life a little easier for those who happen to be at that end of the game and advertises the cape existing more to new players, since unlike maxing, which thens goes oh btw go see this guy for a cape, its not an obvious goal and you don't ever get told oh you can go get this cape now you just have to know its there.
  4. The main reason to do juju herbs is to make farming juju to get more herbs, plus aside from the tracking based species all the tails are pretty easy to get, as long as you have the stats. Though since juju became tradable there isn't quite so much of an incentive to do it yourself.
  5. This is one of those 'it needs to be done so we are doing it get used to it' kinda updates; though it has lurked on the beta for a while now. I'm just glad they saw sense and made the buy back somewhat optional instead of scrapping the free return grave thing entirely - though the times do see rather on the harsh side I mean sure 12 (15?) base timer was a bit much really but only 3 minutes for the best grave in-game? Ouch! Though I suppose the time was only ever a huge issue in getting back to GWD and now instances mean your grave is dumped outside the kc door does it not?
  6. Arceus pretty much covered but basically there are two amounts now that combine for your pay out. One value which increases for consecutive months membs and gets reset if you lapse for 14 days One which increases for cumulative months membs and never gets reset.
  7. Not really - assuming you mean for profound. Thaler prices works out to 795 spotlight hours for full profound Cwars gold tickets works out to 795 hours for full profound IF you win every game. So unless you can 100% without fail gurantee you will win every single cwars game you ever play Thlaers work out faster for profound; especially when you factor in you ought to earn a good amount of gold tickets whilst doing the rounds in for thalers anyway. Plus Thalers can offer a time saving overall as you can get 401 ma rank, conquest rank and ba hard mode kill for other reqs whilst working on full profound.
  8. You can only have 1 master rc robe set and 1 silverhawk pair and neither are under limited.
  9. Herb farm route is pretty basic: Lunars - trollheim tele = trollheim Lunars - cathurby tele = cathurby Explorers ring - cabbageport = fally Ectophial = port phas ardy cape = ardougne elf tele crystall - crwys = elf Witch doctor mask = juju herbs
  10. I don't think its all that ambiguous the TH skill outfits (outfits not silverhawks) are limited hence why they are in the limited tab of the shop. Whilst silverhawks are perma reward.
  11. My predicted 14 was pretty spot on: [hide] [/hide] All I got wrong was PC and conquest are separate and not fight pits.
  12. Well in videos they have said 14 games in the spotlight rotation and named cwars, ba and trouble brewing. Based on the rewards you can buy I'd say 4-9 are: MA (imbued rings), Fight Pits (hybrid gear) Soulwars (hybrid gear) FoG (hybrid gear), Pest Control/Conquest (I imagine these will be treated as 1 & void robes) Stealing Creation (the armour piece) Then 10-14 I'd take a guess at: Heist Cabbage Face Punch Great Orb Project Flash Powder Factory Fishing Trawler That way you've got all the supposed to be multiplayer minigames covered. Also @ idling thing the thing to be careful of in terms of it being branded a bug is the other games like cwars are time limited, BA is not which is where the difference lies. Idling through a cwars game is douchey to your team but not abusing stuff; intentionally not finishing an un-time limited BA wave to idle indefinitely would be abusing the system.
  13. Seems like the kind of obvious abuse factor Jagex would miss, though I wouldn't suggest trying out after all knowingly bug abusing is a bannable offence and Jagex could quite easily decide it is a bug rather than an oversight.
  14. I think they probably chose Thaler as it was an irl silver coin currency used across most of europe for around 4 centuries - so it fits with the rough time period and thematic location associated with medieval-ish fantasy setups and is perfectly thematic match with the notion of multiple separate entities using a common currency. I really am bummed on the prices the more I think about them, profound makes sense as it is balanced against existing time taken but removes the win:lose element to it. But the rest just seem so costly that your better off getting them from their own mini-game directly or, for the skill outfits, are so overpriced they become inefficient to use. It's kind of perfectly setup to not work in its aim to get minigames played as its only real big boon is for trim hunters and that will just mean that cwars dies when unspotlighted.
  15. So Thalers are 1 per 5 minutes normally and 1 per minute during spotlight. Guess its gonna be chasing spotlight all the way for efficiency. Good look at some prices though: 120 Granite Body 150 Fighter Torso 150 Penance Skirt 40 Runner Boots 60 Penance Gloves 3355 Detailed Armour Set 7475 Profound Helm 12650 Profound Body 9200 Profound Legs 9200 Profound Shield 9200 Profound Sword 240 Void helms 300 Void robes 175 void gloves 175 deflector 400 jessikas sword 145 sacred clay helm 180 Seers, Archer, Warrior and Zerker imbued. 'Limited edition' was all the skill outfits at 360 a piece. So 795 Hours of spotlighted Thaler gameplay for full profound which is exactly the same as time taken to get it via cwars assuming 100% win rate. So Thalers deffo should save some time overall since they aren't bound to winning. A lot of the other rewards that they aren't playing the OMG DONT RUIN TRIM game with seems a bit over priced though - I mean 5 hours for 1 void robe piece? It's possible to get full superior elite void body legs gloves and 3 helms in around 20 hours.
  16. The trouble with them speaking in years is they are so fluid with calendar year vs financial year instead of sticking to just one. Later half of year with such ambiguity basically means July-March - Jul-Dec for calendar, oct-mar for financial.
  17. Just to pick up on this point it's not now against the rules - it was ALWAYS against the rules. Up until recently there was a flat out no multilogging rule, then it was recently amended to allow multi-logging but still forbid using multiple accounts to manipulate or bypass game mechanics to an unfair advantage (ie minigame result rigging, giving yourself extra ge slots etc)
  18. I don't really get why a graphical rework, like the one they have shown for Falador here, should break everything. I can see like in a big top-to-toe remodel where things move etc I get why stuff would break. But this appears to just be a fairly simple texture-pack swap out for the most part.
  19. 1) No. Crystal knife effect is that it has a chance to auto string a bow giving the xp for it when you cut it. As protos do not become an unstrung bow and cannot be strung it cannot trigger. 2) As far as I am aware Seren Stones beats all, but I'm not certain. LRC could be faster, but alot less afk. 3) I'd guess no. Afaik barb fishing always was better than c2s - it was just a lot more click heavy and hard to get perfect xp rates with all the dropping and what have you. Take that away with the consuming suit and I see no reason it would not be the best.
  20. Of course there is always the factor that updates can appear ready and then when taken from a closed test server environment to a live game where players inevitably throw thousands different permutations of hardware and in-game gear at it something goes wonky. And to that I would say that their closed test server environment is not sophisticated enough to test the content properly and maybe they should invest in more infrastructure along those lines, if the basic functions of the things they test don't even work right. But it is simply impossible to predict how something will act when you throw it in to the live in a game such as runescape. There are so many thousand upon thousands upon thousands of different system configurations and different combinations of items & actions that even game studios much larger than Jagex haven't /got a hope in hell of ever testing against all of them. Not to mention you can stress test as much as you like nothing ever compares to real genuine stress of users all over the globe putting server requests in to do with content. It is a simple fundamental fact of games like Runescape that plague even the largest of game studios and there is no away around - stuff behaves in unexpected ways when exposed to real genuine users no matter how well tested it is. Anyone who thinks you can hope to have nothing ever break when exposed to the live game and that it is flawed testing whenever something does break is deluded about the chaotic nature of how coding behaves when exposed to real users vs test environments and about how impossible it is to even come remotely close to testing things against the endless array of different hardware/software setups computers can have - and that's before you even consider the myriad of permutations of items/actions possible within a game like Runescape. Anyone one of which could cause a random breakage or function failure for reasons unknown.
  21. Of course there is always the factor that updates can appear ready and then when taken from a closed test server environment to a live game where players inevitably throw thousands different permutations of hardware and in-game gear at it something goes wonky.
  22. Essentially it appears the Road Trip stuff isn't properly equipped to deal with item erasing instances - it will spawn within the instance but won't be taken outside (as nothing can be from instances) but on any sort of re-entering it would be deleted as it is an illegal item that should not be in that instance.
  23. I kinda don't see how deletion aids your aims here. Your issue is if you edit something new into a post it doesn't bump it and therefore it does not get as noticeable. Deleting the entire thread/post won't get it noticed more as its just gone. Bumping however would get it noticed after edits. Personally I think deletion isn't the answer, but some work to do with bumping/alerts may be beneficial. For example: Bump a thread if they original post is altered. Make threads appear unread if the last (or maybe last 5ish) posts get editted. Maybe see if its feasible to have a sort of unread flag appear on editted posts within a thread the first time you go past them again. Perhaps see if notifications can be sent (optional, default on?) if a post you quoted or liked is editted. Would help with the noticing of altered content without just erasing threads from existence. Fairly sure at least 4 of the above should be doable with the IP Board software from what I recall last time I really did anything back end to a forum without too much work. 1 would probably need a plug-in of some kind if it'd work at all.
  24. Yeah to echo what others have said DG is kinda impossible to make a true calc for as its not a neat action x gives y xp skill The base xp value you get for completing a floor is kinda like pick a number out of a hat with a few thousand numbers in. Then that value is averaged against a prestige xp value. Then that value is subjected to multipliers for floor size, guide mode, 'level mod', complexity and deaths to produce a final xp value. Even if, for example, I was to play c1 small floor 1 with no deaths 50 times in a row I'd get 50 different xp amounts within quite a substantial range.
  25. I'd advise utilising the new practice mode if your that worried - nice safe deaths. In terms of loses on death you just lose a few percent on degradables and all told Araxxor isn't too hard. I mean I'm awful at PvM and I only took 3 tries - 1 death, 1 panic lobbying in the small window when it first spawns and a victory. Also as a beginner it is advisable to wait for the Path 2 and 3 rotation and take path 3. Path 3 is the easiest as it has no direct combat & path 2 being open instead of path 1 means phase 3 and 4 of the fight are a bit easier cause acidic spiders are easier to deal with than the minions when your a newb.
