Darklight Upgrade Concerns - Mod Rowley
200th Quest useful reward has no become an actual downgrade on the weapon. Everyone who already 'upgraded' their darklight has quite literally been screwed over - you've unlocked a permanent modification to the weapon that has made it worse than the original. The reward is now people too lazy/slow/not uber up to speed have a better weapon for not having 'upgraded' it. If they leave it like this I think we may see some riotting issues on a larger scale than we've seen in sometime. I mean you are actually being penalised for having completed content and there is no way to take it back and 'downgrade' to the better sword.

Darklight Upgrade Concerns - Mod Rowley
The Jagex Item Upgrade Methodology. 1) Identify item that is severely under-used, but should have a nice niche. 2) Develop an upgrade for said item resulting in it being very useful 3) Release said upgrade and then panic because people ACTUALLY use it and therefore it makes drop values change. 4) Ask for feedback on what to do because you don't want to just nerf it as it should still be useful. 5) Carefully print all feedback off for a thrilling lunchtime game of waste bin basketball 6) Nerf the hell out of the item 7) Act as though you are doing it for the greater good and are genuinely bemused why the item suddenly isn't being used anymore and categorically deny that you actually nerfed it in such a way its even worse than it was before being upgraded 8) Take sick leave to avoid any fall out from player backlash and anger caused to mods who made the upgrade and have seen their work be ruined by knee jerk reactions 9) Allow dust to settle and hope no-one tries to upgrade that item again for a few years 10) Notice a dip in income and get the SGS/TH guys to make a limited used promo, money grab item that is 10* more op than the now nerfed upgrade 11) Sit back smugly in leather chair at how you have out smarted the playerbase and made everyone happy secure in the knowledge your creating 'useful' content players are happy with and definitely did not kneejerk nerf something because you asked the players right?

Superior Robe Bottems
superior elite void is the armour of choice for many bosses still. Like all your nooby sorts + dpser role on some of the creme de la creme

If dragon shortsword was released, would anyone honestly care?
I still think the only reason dragon weapons became quote-on-quote "irrelevant" is because more players care about getting the best weapons ever than how they actually look. I understand that now since being able to kill faster is after all important. If dragon armor was better statswise than bandos, I can 100% guarantee no one would bother with bandos. That is the exact reason it is irrelevant - the game is all about progressing to do better by having better gear and dragon got out-classed. The same thing has happened many times to many things. In the early days Black Armour was the rare peak of awesome stats, then they released mith addy and rune. Then Rune was the sign of a real pro until the first iotas of dragon appeared. Then one days the barrows appeared and dragon was slung on the heap of yesterdays news. Then barrows got pummelled as Bandos and the gwd armours arrived. Then those sets came to crash and burn as nex sets arrived. Then with the arrival of ports armour and the t90 power armours nex sets have taken a hit. And someday when t95 or t99 armours arrive ports etc will become fodder of the forgotten. It's not exactly rocket science or some hidden secret - the best gear in-game rules the roost, the lesser gears slide into worthlessness as they become progressively further away from being the best.

Now that random events are long gone, how does Jagex deal with macroers?
In regards to the giant hand and automated bot stuff still happening I saw it just the other day smushing a guy at pest control.

Superior Robe Bottems
Sounds to me like you've got in a muddle: You give void/superior void to an npc after quests to be given elite/superior elite void. Meanwhile you use the consumable reward on void/elite void to get superior/superior elite void. Sounds to me like you're trying to use the item that makes it superior on already superior void instead of taking it to the npc that charges 100 points to make it elite.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
A lot of people at barb seem to be way into the prestige and they all say camp as long as possible and save mystery eggs until you have only annoying fish left. Though you still need to prayer to Rngsus - I'm now beginning day 3 so 13th hour at barb fishing and so far I've had neither of the two eggs I'm missing for leaping thingies and only 1 gold cracker.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
No my argument is: Do not say you are going to not make RNG, overly grindy based comp reqs and then go ahead and slap on a heavily RNG-based grindy req. Perfect example being my clanmate who has been fishing for 2 hours has had 10 golden crackers and thus 10 eggs. I have been fishing for 8 hours and have only got 6 eggs. If thats not RNG heavy I do not know what is. Whilst also giving purpose to level ups by making it decrease the rarity of the randomised drops in order to create a better playing experience so that better fishers can get golden eggs easier, but it still takes some time to do. IE a low level fisher at the start of the content might expect to take 3 hours to get 1 egg, but a 80s fisher might only be looking at an hour or so on average. That way you end up with a nice curve where any player coming to aquariums has a reasonable shot at getting it done pre-maxing to avoid enforcing mindless grinding to no real purpose opposed to a setup where you have to get in early or you are forced to aimlessly grind just because. It's not about making it easy or having a shortcut its about sticking to their word of avoiding RNG and arbitrary grind imposing comp reqs whilst also making your level mean something to the content in a way that allows the whole range of levels scope to complete it without having to aimlessly grind for excessive periods beyond 99 - barring of coruse the fact that already maxed are going to have to do some grind no matter what.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
The trouble is - it's great IF you need to train fishing. The comp req being slapped on is just a very obvious way to force people to 'play the content' who otherwise would have no reason to do so since it doesn't offer anything of any real use. Plus it goes entirely against half the stuff they put in their comp statement of intent about RNG, overly grindy etc. I wouldn't really mind if at 99 fishing it didn't take all that long to do due to scaling rarity (ie 5-6 hours) but what exactly am I achieving by being forced to fish for several days to just have a few animated pixels in a room I'll never go back to? It's not so much about whether the cape should be maintained or not its about Jagex coming up with a statement of intent to do with RNG and grind on the comp cape and then going pretty much entirely against it. Plus the fact of it being an excessively long period to gain nothing of use. Good comp reqs are either kinda useless to already comped people BUT can be done fairly quickly due to being already maxed Or they take quite some time but provide something of use or merit. Bad comp reqs slap an excessive grind on to the cape that pre-maxed people do not gain any benefit by completing and is ultimately just an arbitrary time barrier to make otherwise short, quick to die, content seem like its being played a bunch when they take their post launch stats. By all means if people are training fishing on the road to 99 its a nice little diversion, but just slap on a rarity curve so that post-99 you can get the eggs at a reasonable speed like they did with the meilyr potion recipes. Still took some time but were a lot more common if you had 120 dg and 99 herb.

A couple of questions about monsters. (and other things.)
Why do the gods never interfere with the events in the game? If you believe this to be true you clearly haven't done half of the most recent content. Prior to Guthix's demise he had shielded Gielinor from direct interference from the gods after the destruction caused by the god wars; but then in recent content Guthix died. Since then Saradomin and Zamorak have blown up half of Lumbridge fighting. Armadyl and Bandos have had a battle royale resulting in his death. Marimbo and Brassica prime have had a fun battle. Saradomin has gotten us to retrieve the wand of resurrection. Zaros has got us to help in his restoration. Zamorak has had our help in trying to steal the Stone of Jas. Etc. The gods are very much here and getting involved in events now that they can once more.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
As a mostly cosmetic thing with almost no function it'd be pretty cool if it say took like 5 or 6 hours to do with a comp req. As something that does almost nothing but takes 42 odd hours for a comp req its utterly grindy dullness.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
I've barely started hunting these gold eggs and im already bored and hating it. Kinda annoyed this won over a room with an ACTUAL use to it, especially when they've slapped on a bogus time heavy comp req simply to force people to spend some play time on it. Also how frigging annoying are the surface world building materials from prawn balls? Oh great just what I wanted 20 building items I can't sell and have no use for as I already built all the best things!

Things in RuneScape that make no sense.
You are misrepresenting what she said. She's talking about how people can walk on fire without getting burnt. Ah I see so by commenting on the actual words she wrote I am 'misrepresenting' what she said. But by throwing in a meaning to do with standing on fires that not one single word she wrote even vaguely alluded to you are giving an accurate representation of what was written?

^ Because nobody lights logs in the real world? Heck firemaking is even a real world skill - scouts do a badge in it and everything.

A question about Ned the rope guy.
He used to feature in a lot of quests by the sheer fact he was the only source of rope for many year, but in terms of active participation it's only lumby/draynor task set and dragon slayer these days.

Things in RuneScape that make no sense.
I recall somewhere they did once say greens and reds didn't fly because they were so close to lava it like damaged their wings or something like that. Of course that doesn't really work so well these days now there are smattering of greens nowhere near lava and the steels and irons at ghorrocks too. But at least brimhaven, ancient cavern, blues, blacks, frosts, celestials, some greens and sort of reds have a decent reason I suppose.

Polls General Discussion
None of it sounded out of place to me. All fits in nicely with Egyptian-ish themes with some nice touches of something more that sets this the capital of the desert empire apart from the other settlements of the area. Heck to me you could even get away with having some meadows/crop fields in a lush pocket south of the city that provides a mix or some form of farm, herb and maybe magic or rc xp by helping them sustain the fertility of the area to provide food for all their people - maybe could be linked to the soul altar through the notion of the 'soul' of the land its a lush fertile place before it was forcibly made barren as per existing lore. Farming definitely seems to have legs to it be it either show off through plants showing riches or the more practical food for the kingdom - after all Menaphos is both the capital AND capable of sealing itself off from all outside by self-sustaining. (As is their current state) Crafting to me would make a lot of sense with a focus on pottery and glass - fits with the whole egyptian theme plus lots of sand about for glass work that they would perhaps have instead of the gold and silver and gemstones we are used to.

Future Update Discussions
" The same skilling or gathering rate as the highest-level tool that you can equip of that type – whether or not you own that tool."This bit annoys me most of all. Why? Why make it work as the highest you can use and thereby allow people to effectively use tools levels they do not own. It could just as easily act to match your existing tool - ie toolbelt or equipped.

can someone tell me where that trial announcer in Ardougne is taking me?
Its basically a show-case show off of the automated bot banning stuff in works. The 'bot' that appears in the trial is given the name of a player just banned but its not the actual player; they just get booted out of the game.

Things in RuneScape that make no sense.
Arguably it is stupid, it was just a means of controlling access to content via requiring the amulet first. The stupidity of it is why is 6th age content they decided we don't need the amulet to speak with ghosts, plus they made the morytanina task sets have a reward of perma-ghostspeak.

Things in RuneScape that make no sense.
They do need rules but they make their OWN rules. Twilight is not hated because their creatures differ from the traditional vamps or werewolves, they are hated because they are poorly written with a car crash of a plot with no real depth to it. It makes perfect sense that we cannot understand ghosts without a magical aid in Gielinor because Gielinor is a fantasy world and ghosts are a fantasy being and they decided we need a magic to understand them. Plus in terms of talking to ghosts the real world itself is the prime example of not being able to directly understand them - we rely on ouija boards and seances and mediums and almost no real world supposed ghost-lore actually has them talking. As for why they differ from living species, its simple - they are dead, living species are not. One can easily assume all living species on Gielinor are using a 'common tongue' (pretty standard fantasy trope) where by they all use one globally known language to allow us to communicate with them all. It's even something that is alluded to with the Gnomish and Elvish languages seen in written texts. Plus its not like they do all speak plain and simple english - the less civilised species like goblins and ogres speech is very disjointed and basic compared to say the higher species like gnomes and elves.

Skill Capes & Diango Improvements Patch Week
To me in the interests of fairness there ought to be an equal percentage boost available for all skills from wearable stuff - however there should also be negatives to using said outfit (am issue that Golem and Shark outfits have failed on). Like there should be situations for the training of said skill where there is a dilemma over using it - Living Rock Caverns would be a good example (pre golem and shark) where using it would get you more xp, but you ran the risk of having little defence should the creatures opt to attack you. Or the way Divination works would be a good example of negatives vs positives - you have the choice of getting more resource and almost no xp, getting a middle ground of resource and xp or getting more xp and no resources. I'm not really 100% sure how you could make it work for all skills, but I feel the game would be better for it if it was not a cut and dry wear outfit x to do skill y kind deal.

Ascension Xbows or Nox bow?
Needle Shot has a slight dps edge on the 2h counterpart so in pure numbers asc > nox. It's close enough that you can go with whichever one you please really, but if you want to the absolute best range dps possible no matter how small the edge may be asc would win out.

Perfect Plus Potion - Bonuses to Voice of Seren Effects?
I think what happened is they added to VoS in tweaking and it never got added to the potion. Aka it does almost nothing in regards to VoS since pretty much all of VoS was just the generic xp boost at the start, but least it gives all the effects of perfect jujus at once right? Cause I mean what else could be greater when you train the Woodminesmithfarmagileprayherbdungeon skill, which is totally not a made up thing and something you can utilise all those different bonuses whilst doing.

Skill Capes & Diango Improvements Patch Week
Tbf to Jagex on this one Familar overrides came out before boss pets and everyone went AMG WHY ONLY LEGENDS WE WANTS THEM ALL!:!:l!l1,2;1`@ Then boss pets came out and everyone went OMTGTJ,NJHKVBYG NO OVERIDES U NOOB CAKE SPLATTER FACES333¬££{!@:¬¬ Logic would suggest, if reacting to feedback decently, the animators who would likely deal with making the boss pets usable as overrides were already busy doing the existing sizeable amount of companion pets when boss pets arrived and would, hopefully, have the boss pets high up on the to-do list now the companion pets are finished. I mean it is jagex so who really knows, but just on pure logic companions arriving before boss does make sense.
