Please Don't Graphically Update Like Ashdale!
I don't think there shouldn't graphically update older cities, the stuff they can do now is pretty awesome compared to how tired some cities look. That being said Ashdale is awful, but I think they realised that was a failed experiment in doing 'cheap' graphics as it isn't a style thats appeared in any other recent works. But I mean Al-Kharid and Priff are certainly examples of how well they can redo cities.

Membership Price Changes - 1st March 2015
Yeah I don't see this price increase as that big of a deal, it pretty much is just an inflation shift and its not like you can get any other membership to anything half way decent for less these days. I can see where some people might not feel the game is worth more of their money, but then even if this was the best game in the world some people would feel like that if price went up.

I'd argue that it would make more sense to keep fishing as the best for straight healing and just slap extra effects on to more complicated recipes, if only because it makes perfect sense for basic healing to be pretty accessible (never mind that you'd risk pushing fishing into FM-tier). Fish are pretty good in the boring-but-practical role, it's just that cooking is outdated everywhere else and doesn't have anything else going for it. I mean, it's currently a more complicated Herblore with a lot more steps and a pretty unpleasant fail chance even at high levels, maybe turning it into the noncombat equivalent of herblore would be the way to go, since there are already more than a few common foods in that niche. Just because more complex dishes would offer the best tier wouldn't mean basic healing would not be accessible - it just would perhaps not reach quite so far up to the upper tiers. Plus the notion that making complex recipes more valuable would negatively effect fishing is only true if you assume that only existing cooking foods were exist. For a revamp to work you'd have to look at fishing and the food product elements of farming alongside cooking to ensure you had recipes that utilised the gathering skills outputs properly. For example a very basic food stuff could be an omelette. You could then have x-fish omelettes for most fish which heal a little more than just the fish. You could then have omelette variants using a few vegetables - ie tomatoes, onions, peppers where each vegetable offers a different effect or boost to the dish. Then the top end omelette would be like rocktail omelette with tomatoes onions and peppers Sitting a bit below that you'd have rocktail omelette with 2/3 of the veges Then with 1 of the vegs Then with just the fish Then the plain fish without being a omelette Heck even if you were limited to 1 veg variant to keep items numbers down you could still have options of which vegetable's effect to augment it with. Could apply the same principle to many food stuffs and even divide the food in tiers. Like maybe stews would be for the low end fish, then the mid-range might have omelettes whilst the top end moves into pies or salads where pies would be the real mass healing items with the odd bonus effect designed for bossing stuff whilst salads would be lower healing with more bonuses suited to slayer and such.

In the time frame though you'd expect the figures to have self corrected to be 7+:1 by this point though. Lets say for example At launch the system had 100 kiln and 100 jad pre-awarded Each day there's 5 kiln kills, 5 cave kills and 3 extra jads from failed kilns Using those figures it'd only take 75 days for the ratio to hit 7:1 In terms of the live game I'd say theres been plenty of time for the stats to naturally correct the ratio and even if there hasn't quite been I'd definitely expect the ratio to be much closer to 6:1 rather than only 4:1

Guthix isn't really a Naragi anymore, just as Saradomin is no longer really a human. Regardless if life status, she is a fading memory of a long dead race, yes. I think the basic idea with that line of thought was if Guthix was a member then the race was really only less than 1 year dead gamewise. Although since he wasn't really Naragi since ascending then yes she is. I would argue that a race could be considered effectively dead even if it has living members, if it doesn't have enough to reproduce and sustain a viable population, which was certainly the case here. Very true but it is irrelevant to the description of The Memory when it is a 100% stated lore fact of the game that a being ceases to be its origin race when it becomes a god. Armadyl isn't an aviansie, Sradomin is not a human. Zamorak is not a mahjaratt. Brassica is not a cabbage. Marimbo is not an ape and Guthix was not an Naragi. So Guthix was the last living Naragi since Aagi died before he ascended, but he ceased to be a Naragi many thousands of years ago.

Grand Exchange
I find it interesting how so many wanted old school to go back to the good olds days before x y and z. Yet as the game develops lots of x y and z are being voted in to the game. It begs the question to me is there going to be a point where the community that was largely founded from 'we whined until they made us our own game' will rebel and whine for an new old school because they have decided its jumped the shark again.

That struck me as odd as well, I have something like 30 jad kills purely from kiln runs (2x7 for the mage and range capes and then a smattering from a couple of abortive 'oh dear god i didnt mean to click there' or 'oh joy lagspike mid-jad' attempts at said capes) so the counter in-game certainly seems to count them all. I suppose the jad figure there could be sans kiln jads though.

Regarding one of the rules in the forum games.
But my point is it is NOT incorrect information. It is perfectly correct information about the procedures and rules of the Forum Games section that just happens to be a procedure that has not needed to be actively used lately due to the forum being quieter than it previously was. The rules existence defines a parameter of expected behaviour should the forum be busy enough to warrant its use. If you get rid of it just because the forum is quieter and then there is a sudden surge of business and a game gets stickied and people start duplicating it you can't then moderate the forum to avoid duplication as the rule doesn't say you can't do that. Where as if the rule exists but isn't used to the forum being quiet it doesn't do anything.

To me I'm not overly bothered. The monopoly fish having on healing is kinda game-breaking (or at least cooking breaking) anyway. Really if they wanted to fix cooking and make it work as a bigger part of gameplay they need to squish the usefulness of fish because the mechanic or design to make cooking of most use needs to be that more complex dishes are better. In terms of rewarding effort and such its just good game design that the top foods ought to be the pizzas and stews and what have you that use fish, and other stuff, as ingredients. Where as fish should be s quick, easy cooking thing that offers sub-par healing. Especially as it'd help to revitalise some of farming as well by creating demand for other produce to create the best foods. That being said I think passive fish wins it for me. Random, Risky and Simple are all kinda boring. Combo to me just feels a bit awkward and nonsensical, why would food act different when eaten in different circumstances? Which leaves passive.

They just want to ouste all of the gods and have the world as their own being let by the nations of men, etc. and by their own interests and not some mighty being. That is certain the ethos of the Godless faction leaders specifically, the trouble is however those being lumped in with the godless of late are by no means members of the godless faction or part of that ethos. Many being lumped under that umbrella now are merely not aligned to a specific god or aligned to a particular cause or purpose that conflicts with a particular god. For example in some of Vorago's dialogue stuff makes mention to the fact he is not opposed to the gods specifically (ie does not fit the Godless Faction ethos) he is however opposed to anything that damages Gielinor. Vorago, for instance, is unlikely to care much at all about Seren, Zaros, Marimbo, Tumeken, Brassica or Armadyl as they (as far as we can see at present) want to be peaceful and not damage the world. Heck Vorago may even overtly support Zaros once the elder god stuff kicks off. Where as Vorago would actively opposed Zamorak, Sliske or Tuska as they just want to destory and make chaos and such and he would probably also get pissed at Saradomin given his methods in many cases. Vorago therefore is godless in that he lacks affiliation to a specific god, but he is not Godless in the sense of being specifically opposed to all gods.

Regarding one of the rules in the forum games.
I don't think it needs altering particularly. Just because forum games is deader of recent years and thus not busy enough to warrant a specific game being stickied does not mean the rule need not exist to cover for the eventuality that it does get busy.

Godless being a 'side' is always a bit of a misnomer in terms of language. As a group they are kinda purposefully against being on a side. But then language dictates that in an event where u can be x y or z all 3 are a side to pick/align with. Its not entirely correct as descriptions go, but there isn't really a proper way to express the sentiment of their participation otherwise.

more like filling in the gaps. Also useful for iron men I think his post was more directly at WKW saying he was going to get the t85s and sell drygores whilst getting a scythe; rather than a general statement on the release order of the high end weapon tiers.

POP Captain and Crew levelling
Judge of Dice? What is this 2013? Kharidian Exile are the top end of solidarity crew line now. For reference the entire line is: First Mate Eastern Overseer [no new] Bureaucrat Judge of Dice [no new] [no new] Kharidian Exile. And Merchants cap out of Terracotta Merchant who is preceded by Jade Merchant, Merchant, Trader and Ardougne Shopkeeper

So with the clue voyages it seems as thought the Memory, the Tengu and the Exile are the worthwhile ones. Though even then the Tengu only for a 1 time thing. Memory for a few uses, subject to need. Exile perma useful.

POP Captain and Crew levelling
Stats raise by 10% of their base value for each level up - base value being the one shown when you mouse over and get the break down of base, level, trait and personal bonus. 100 base = +10 per level for +100 at lvl 10 1000 base = +100 per level for +1000 at lvl 10 All 4 stats raise by this amount on both crew and captains. In most cases this means lvl 10 from previous region are better than up to ~lvl 4 or 5 of new region.

Comp - Statement of Intent
At least they seem to be showing some willingness to actually fix the reqs now (quite the 180 on the 'unchanging' to 'agile'). Even if they are making a big song and dance about oh but chaning cwars will upset a lot of people, wowzer just wait til you see the rage. But to be brutally honest to me its still a case of so what? They said themselves it can't be polled because those in favour are mostly those who did it who are very much a minority. Why should we all have to suffer just because a minority already did it? Yes they might rage and whine and moan, but at the end of the day it would be upsetting one small minority of players for the betterment of the game design as a whole and improve the end-game playing experience for the majority.

I think the distance cap doesn't increase, due to there being no new region. I'd agree without new regions there is no real reason to up the distance cap. The distance cap was upped in the first add-on because there were new regions which required more distance to unlock than the existing cap allowed. If this add-on has no new regions there is no need for new distance so no reason to increase the cap, especially if you consider increasing the cap could make future expansions unfair as new regions could be insta-unlocked due to a distance cap that exceeds the require distance for max region by too much.

Generic high-level Slayer Help
1) Ideal world all T90, in terms of maximising xp gains and affording only 1 set I'd say get ascensions. 2) Most slayer mobs can be obliterated with any style you please if using t90 other than a couple like ascension membs tht must be ranged and ganos that must be maged. Which is where if your gonna 1 style (as much as can) ranged or mage wins out. Chuck in that waterfiends are quite insane xp:hr and weak to ranged and it makes most sense to grab ranged if your in it for xp and xp alone. 4) Most of those items are good, though fer rings you chuck into upgraded slayer helm and wear a normal ring in its place. Overloads are kinda overkill for slayer but they will push your xp rates up a little bit. Ideal you'd want supreme overloads - they boost a little more and actually work out cheaper per dose than the regular variety. In terms of prayer its not all that useful for slayer these days. Most stuff can't really hit you enough to need much healing and the healing you do need can be pretty much covered by sacrifice in with your basics and the odd firing of guthixs blessing or dropping out of cmb to use regen. Off the top of my head about the only task I really heavily use prayer on these days is dark beasts and thats just because you can throw soulsplit on with demonhorn necklace and bonecrusher and it will never run out, but wil keep ur health maxed. 5) Rswiki has a good guide on max dps basic rotations for revolution: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Revolution Personally I use that with chain and ricochet dropped out for sacrifice (i have it on melee bar too but cant recall what i dropped for it) In terms of thresholds most of them are pretty decent but wild magic and asphyiaxte are the stars of magic, destroy and berserk for melee, ranged I like rapid fire and bombardment, but I hear good things about snap shot. In terms of ultimates sunshine and deaths swiftness are just all the win; not really a go to ultimate for melee though. Trouble with most ultimates is they are horribly inaccurate and the dps you lose by not being able to use your thresholds after missing makes you worse off.

By the upvoting 'support' system. Whether there is 20 or 6000 there will be a selection that get more support than the rest and those will be looked at.

RuneLabs Ideas
Would not making a thread for your suggestion in the suggestion forum with said link be perfectly adequate and appropriate given that runelabs is a system about suggestions? If anything a thread for just links to suggestions seems entirely off-topic for gen discussion and borderline spammy. Where as Gen discussion would be appropriate for discussing the mechanics and implementation of the system and the leading ideas and polls coming from it.

The issue with upping limit is more to do with the upper limits of the coding - it isn't capable of generating more rooms at once than the current limit. Presumably this is do with a map size constraint or memory constraint or something of that ilk where the system starts to break down if you try to expand it further. That's the thing with older systems they are sort of like trying to stack a tower of non-matching blocks without any fore planning. Whilst theoretically there is nothing stopping you adding more blocks to the top doing so just results in the tower becoming progressively more unstable until it eventually collapses. They were essentially designed in a time when the extreme upper limit of what was possible was a much lower bar, so by todays standards they are archaic and can't cope with what more modern coding could achieve. @Dexter - using dg as a base for reworking construction certainly wouldn't be a bad idea, but they probably already thought of that and it wouldn't really reduce times that much. Whilst it would mean they would bypass the need to code a generate on entrance grid-room system they would still have to make it a save-state loading system not a random generation delete on exit one and rebuild the entire hotspot furniture system and rebuild the build-mode system etc. etc. Using dg would very much only give them the very very base line, a good 90% of the poh/building functionality would still need to be recoded ontop of it. Plus the 1 year graphics thing only really applies for a purely graphical rework in the existing system - graphic time for a full rework would be lesser.
-
Future Update Discussions
The entirety of poh IS the old system. It's never been reworked hence the limitations of construction and the only way to make real changes is the ground up rework. It's a system that you can bolt new things onto (ie a new room) but you can't easily amend or tweak the core code as it effects, well, everything - rotations, room placement, house instance generation, build spots, furniture dataetc.

Well they already knew the CEO was leaving since summer so I am surprised that they still have no new head. Look at a big company like Apple and they already had someone who would become the new CEO if the old one stopped. Bureaucracy makes these things take more time than seems sane to most folks. I started temping at my local county council in June. The head of the department was already in situ as an interim whilst recruitment took place for several months before I started. Last week the final appointment to the role was made. Changing high ups only tends to happen quickly when there is an internal person who has already been formally named as a successor or the board all have a single person they think should step up and that person accepts it.

Rune Labs Discussion
I don't recall them ever saying the new head would be announced in Jan - only that MMG was leaving at end of dec and Mod Pips was acting as interim head until the role was permanently filled. In fact with how most big companies work and the recruitment process I'd be kinda surprised if there was a new head before March.
