  1. It's possible even the name is canned. The status it is at is: The concepts have been cannibalised and reused for other stuff (ie springcleaner), but it still stands that there is a new artisan skill to be paired with divination to be created that is currently is being referred to as 'inventor' even though it may not be that anymore. Personally I think in reworks vs inventor reworks will win - You get more bang for your buck that way imo. You can bring divination into more skills during the rework process and for ultimately less dev time you can achieve more. For example Team 1 - The Quick Fix: Take Mining and Smithing for example - rejig the level reqs and create some new top end stuff. Possibly create some new mechanics for the new high end to make it more than just the same old same old. As your working begin to do some work around crafting and jewellery. Using that work as a framework you can then look at cook/fish and wc/fletch and do them much quicker using the same principles and also redo more parts of crafting at the same time. Maybe look to move more magic gear out of crafting and into runecrafting to give that skill more options and fit in with the popular smith = melee, craft = ranged rc = magic notion. Team 2 - The Midterm Goal: Start looking at coding the construction rework with all the nifty concepts already aired. It'll be a bigger job than team 1 got, but the fundamental ideas and basis to build from is there. Team 3 - The Long Game: Start to concept and poll ways to improve agility and firemaking. They probably don't need as much coding work as construction will, but they also don't have a clear concept that can be launched into right away. Plus fm does kinda need to be informed by any wc and cook changes. Maybe explore agile being used in combat for evasiveness. Maybe fires could be used in specialised training methods e.g. smoking fish. Team 4 - Beyond: Draw together concepts and notions for skills we haven't talked about reworking that could be put on the agenda for the long term. Are the strong ideas for a big overhaul of summon? Farming? Hunter? What about support for the idea of strength being used for all 3 combat types and making magic and ranged pure accuracy like attack? Within the year you could probably get all of team 1 and 2's work in-game with team 3's close to launch and a healthy bunch of ninja fixes; plus you could have drawn together a clear roadmap for further work for another year or 2 of reworks and the result would be big improvements to large portions of the game. A new skill would probably take nearly a year and just strap on some hopefully useful content to already broken content making the reworks more of a mammoth task.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if they are building into the skill reworks vs inventor poll. Raven has talked about the reworks before iirc. Ana did Div so fits for inventor. And we know from runefest they intend to poll such. Also Rite of Passage is deffo highly anticipated for all of us who care for lore - dat elder artefact 8/12!
  3. 6 if you have a D&D Weekly reset ticket.
  4. The irony of this post is perma-beta servers are a good idea for helping shape updates, but near everything the OP mentioned is exactly what is wrong with the beta servers: People messing around doing everything other than testing the content.
  5. Warbands run every 7 hours, so the snowman runs every 14 hours: 0000 (0700) 1400 (2100) 0400 (1100) 1800 (0100) 0800 (1500) 2200 (0500) 1200 (1900) 0200 (0900) 1600 (2300) 0600 (1300) 2000 (0300) 1000 (1700) 0000... Is the warband time cycle, so every other one one would snowverload EDIT: And its been confirmed on twitter 11pm gmt is one, so looks like our time cycle for it goes Day 1: 9am 11pm Day 2: 1pm Day 3: 3am 5pm Day 4: 7am 9pm Day 5: 11am Day 6: 1am 3pm Day 7: 5am 7pm
  6. Each to their own but overall that is just an awful plan. Kingdom only takes un-noted flatpacks so you have to run in circles, alot. Plus the prices are awful for example 168gp is added to coffers per mahogany plank. Tbh if you want to afk it you may as well forget proper training and just let god statues & maybe a bit of crystal harps train it. You'd just waste so much time in both the slowness of flatpack making and the slowness of even trying to pay them into kingdom. That being said if you do want to actively train flatpacks are the only option, but seriously just drop em, the value regained for the effort involved taking them to kingdom is not worth it.
  7. Hmm interesting but then we'd be judge and jury half the time, if you know what I mean :P. I don't think it would necessarily work for all posts (ie opinion based questions), but in certain cases (ie fact based) where there is a clearly defined answer and 1 specific post covers it concisely its a nice added touch and of course where multiple posts exist all with the same level of correctness, coherence and general explanation covering the point you can simply use first come first served. IE If Hedgehog made a post explaining the answer in some detail and then so did I moments later you'd use Hedgehog's If on the other hand Hedgehog just put 'No' and then I'd put in some relevant explanation you'd use mine.
  8. I like it, it doesn't seem to be put on any threads that aren't indeed well answered and it makes glancing over the forum for places I might help easier. Besides as pointed out with post editing you can always remove the tag from your post if you don;t feel its been answered. Plus I like that it sort of gently discourages repurposing your thread to ask completely unrelated questions - those kind of threads may work alright for the OP but they don;t do much good for folks searching at later dates. Heck I'd quite like to see it go a step further and do what some forums have where a 'best answer' post is displayed at the top of the thread once it has been answered - make it super easy for searchers to see what answer came of it.
  9. According to people in my clan chat who were cracker lurking when it hit 99% it was pulled before the broadcast message saying it was ready to be pulled even went around...
  10. I'm mainly waiting for the elf tasks this month. Since I finally cleared 120 dg I'm in a situation where I actually have a realistic shot at comp this year if elf task don't have some awful time consuming insanity in them. I mean granted I still need to overcome my seeming inability to beat more than 17 waves of RoB and some how managed to get a Rots and Rago kill, but they aren't beyond doable in the time remaining...maybe.
  11. If your making flatpacks, your doing construction wrong. They take far to long to make compared to making and destroying the actual item and the time isn't worth it since flatpacks don't really sell
  12. If your running or teleporting to bank your doing construction wrong. Butler + noted planks = zero banking. 624 an hour sounds quite low to me. I mean I can burn through near 1k oak planks doing larders in around an hour or so (not actually timed it, but 98% certain I get far to bored to go on for more than an hour roughly)
  13. I feel like a big flaw with the Jagex listening process is under estimating the older loyal player base. So many of us have been around with the game far far longer than the majority of the jmods now and most of us have far more day to day interaction with the community and the game on a large scale. The simple truth is - Those of us who have been around since near the beginning understand the game far better than most of the devs do. You can see time and time again in threads we predict obvious potential flaws with updates and concepts that seem messy and not fitting with the game and time and time again these flaws are there in the release resulting in broken game play or the concepts don't work and the content dies. I feel like they could benefit from having a purpose built forum/beta testing system for players who have been around for a long time AND have over a certain amount of playtime. As long as they actually listened to what the majority said and not just the responses they like. I mean an overall beta system for more updates would go a hell of a long way regardless of other limitations/special betas.
  14. I can't be the only one who's sick of them getting rid of user-friendly features because a handful of players told them it's more "prestigious" to get lucky or slog through broken mechanics for a couple hundred hours. It is beyond tiresome. By all means uber top end gear or cosmetic variants of top end gear that are rarer should be prestigious and all that. But tiny little fun cosmetic things have no frigging reason to be prestigious or force us to play for hours upon hours upon hours to get. Oh great you limit the boss pets to people who spend all their time pvming endlessly to get them GREAT because we all know how hardcore pvmers like to have pets out behind them instead of a useful familiar... It's like they want these pets to sit gathering dust and never be seen. Surely if they are SO awesome and SO cool you ought to WANT them to be seen a lot by making the little cosmetic fun item as available as possible to all players, within reason. It's not like its even just these kind of things now even holiday items that are a bit of fun that used to take maybe 30 mins having a bit of fun at an event are becoming 'you must play every day for the entire holiday period in order to obtain this useless item that looks xmassy and therefore its appropriate to wear for about 5 days after you can actually obtain it and will inevitably be entirely forgotten by most players by next year'
  15. ^Until you factor in the imcando running out of charges and the significant time wasted in recharging it. In terms of sheer speed crystal is better - crystal is to drag/imcando what dragon is to rune.
  16. In the use the protean plank simply replaces the existing planks and therefore training with them in terms of numbers per hour is near enough identical to training with normal planks. I.e. However many mahog planks it'd take to do mahog tables for an hour is how many protean planks it'd take to train for an hour. This is because if you are timing things correctly (aka the numbers good training guides give) a butler un-noting normal planks should be near 0 time used meaning protean don't really save a huge amount of time - they just make things a lot cheaper. In terms of their production rates from portables, not a clue, but I'd hazard a guess it's not that high enough or consistent enough a chance for people to bother producing really solid numbers on.
  17. Not really. Regardless of who or who does not celebrate the holiday it remains a fact that most players would not be busy on that particular weekend. Meaning the majority of players were perfectly well able to access the content if they so wished.
  18. I wasn't bringing it up to justify who cares. I was bringing it up to highlight the fact it was factually in correct to claim that most players would be busy on the weekend that only 1 country has an actually holiday one.
  19. You mean the Jagex logic of running a small Thanksgiving event on Thanksgiving weekend? The evil masterminds! What's next? Christmas at christmas! Besides it's not like most people would be doing anything given that Runescape's European playerbase is as big as, if not bigger than the US one. Then throw in the other continents and US, the only country to celebrate thanksgiving, is not 'most' people.
  20. Elite certainly will be interesting since it includes the highst reqs of any set to date - atleast 1 99 or a quest cape & all stats 90+
  21. Are you sure you've done the right quest? I see you said you've done 'Sliskes' quest, which I would assume is Missing, Presumed Death. This is a reward for completing Fate of the Gods.
  22. Well they said in the stream they are the terracotta and azure tier buildings so I'm guessing terracotta and azure.
  23. Makes sense. After all why faff around making them have a reward xp drop when you can just code them in as always-on slayer monsters that give you the xp for dying.
  24. It's just a bit jarring that they're pretty much the only boss that hasn't seen a graphical overhaul yet, really. Not a necessity by any means, but it would be cool to see one down the line. Of course they do indeed need one, but I was just making the point to what Tim said that we knew from day 1 boss pets didn't have scope to update them and that they only even made it into the pet roster because we (the players) demanded it regardless of graphics.
