  1. Imagine varrock square on minimap, put a ge node where the fountain is. That is what the picture was.
  2. Rewards vary, usually good xp in some skills and then an assortment of unlockables that can be got elsewhere later on. Plus some limited time cosmetic overides usually get included. Since this one will be different format to the previous 2 (and a bit) hard to say how much they will correlate on rewards though.
  3. The area GE takes us isn't really big enough to put any major content in though. Before the GE it was just pretty much empty space right back to classic; about all the ge did space wise was nudge cooking guild south. Why move something that's big if we don't actually have a better use for that space? Plus I would say GE still sustains fair crowds on most worlds - sure it doesn't LOOK crowded but that is because people are spread out between the 4 different 'nodes' and largely stacked up on top of each other. Speaking as someone who suffered with mac lag and know people with older lower spec machines ge is still a big lagfest due to crowds on pretty much every world.
  4. The threshold system does come off as a bit of a half-assed kick in the teeth compared to what was originally on the table regarding the pets accessibility. I mean a max of 10 out of xxxxx but with increments happening at 500 kills. I mean like in this very example you've gotta log 10,000 kills to even hit that top rate and that top rate still isn't all that great because of the cap. Even most hardcore pvmers probably don't have anywhere close to 10k kills in most cases. It sort of feels, to me, like a 'we want to pander to the hardcore pvm crowd but we need to do SOMETHING to appease the non-hardcore pvmers since we already stripped out 99% of what was there to make this accessible to them'
  5. I don't really see a need for this. Doesn't make it closer to teles or anything so why bother changing it? Especially in the context where theres a couple of instanced Varrocks for quests that would have to be redone as well and there is one or two quests and tasks that make specific use of the fountain you propose removing, making them need to be redone. Plus it devalues the Varrock Task rewards that allow for your teleport to be moved the the grand exchange and the purpose of the teleports on the ring of wealth. Seems like a lot of work for a change that does not give any real benefit
  6. Get dat on runelabs and im sure itd get loads of support in the coming weeks
  7. Is it just me or is Arceus and the chain of number quotes on odds of a specific set horribly horribly wrong. If the odds of getting any piece at all cumulative of all on offer is 1 in 10,500 the odds of getting a piece from a specific subset of that would be lesser odds (Eg 1 in >10,500) not better odds (eg 1 in <10,500). It's like saying you've got a bag of 12 balls - 3 red, 3 blue, 3 green, 3 black. The cumulative odds of drawing a non-black ball is 9/12 or 3/4 The odds of drawing a specific colour, non-black ball is only 3/12 If the odds of getting a piece from 1 specific set was 1 in 3,500 the odds of getting a piece from any of 3 sets would be 3 in 3,500 aka 1 in ~1166 If the odds of getting any piece is 1 in 10,500 the odds of a piece from a specific set would be more in the ball park of 0.3 in 10,500 or 1 in 32,000
  8. Wasn't that the original intention of Dungeoneering? Pandering to what was considered disgustingly rich at the time? If you're referring to floor selling I don't think so. In fact I recall people even getting banned for it, as a psuedo-autotyping ban. The original original plan for Dungeoneering was a separate game, 'Mechscape..' I don't see how money entered into it but I'd be interested to find out... Mechscape and Dg are not remotely related. Mechscape which later became Stellardawn then got put on 'pause' is an entirely sperate sci-fi game that has absolutely nothing remotely dg like about it. What stellardawn did end up informing was engine updates that allow rs to do more and the Transformers game.
  9. Greenhouse or Hotel imo - they actually add some new functional purpose to using the house. I'd be interested to see what the resource dungeon thing would function like in greater detail before voting for it.
  10. It's called being reborn. I know that many atheists don't believe in reincarnation but I do. I believe that when somebody dies, they will be reborn in a different body. Actually in the lore of the game you never die, ever. Mod Osbourne confirmed it, its why when you re-enter boss battles for example the npcs aren't like oh you again. It's like a little time loop do over, which does make a lot more sense once you factor in death taking you to the last hub you visited now. Did they also explain how the respawning of such mobs like boss battles work? As you already killed them :P Or would that be similar? They haven't really gone into detail on many bosses, but in some cases there are explanations. Ie QBD you put her to sleep, not kill her. Barrows are undead wights that will reform after being defeated KQ, KK, DKS, Mole, Araaxi are all examples of creature colonies where a lesser member of the colony will ascend to fill the vacated role. Vorago can't die hence being knocked off the platform. Fight pits, cauldron and fight caves are all creatures that come from and return to the lava.

  12. While RNG often doesn't make sense in real life, I wouldn't like RS if it wasn't based on RNG For me RNG has a place in Runescape for sure but there needs to be some checks and balances on RNG. i.e. The RNG should be progressively kinder on the elite 1 off show-off drops and I think to an extent with certain monster drops you could implement a sort of sliding scale to the RNG so every x kills without one of the big drops makes you slightly more likely to get those drops, but then as soon as you get them it scales back to default. Nothing overly kind or game breaking, just enough of a fail safe system that guarantees effort, dedication and persistence will be rewarded instead of the current situation where you can become stuck in an infinite loop of RNG and never get anywhere. For me the biggest areas RNG is failing is the elite show-off drops (aka the pet drops and Kalger titles) and the champion challenge scrolls. For drops that can be sold I don't necessarily think it is an issue as such, but using the idea of some gentle scaling across the boarding on all monsters wouldn't be a bad thing. Just to help nudge players away from dry streaks by improving odds a bit on all the drops that are considered good ones. I mean if you have ok luck it'd pretty much never really impact you as you'd be getting consistently reset by getting good drops, but if you hit a dry spell it'd just help to make that dry spell end instead of potentially killing a profitable monster and making a lose due to suck rng.
  13. Logical way to match it would to be to apply the ammo break chance formula on to autoattacks/spell casts and total charges would then need to be based on material costs (ie if wand material costs would comparably make 100 darts) But this is jagex so probably 10 or 12 hours standard degrade system.
  14. I'd assume the t85 weps will degrade and be untradable to match the darts ie can't be sold, but do run out and have to be remade/restocked.
  15. I agree with this - levels are just applying a scaling system to a skill. Attack for example is in essence swordsmanship - how talented you are at handling a blade/axe/other weapon. The higher level weapons are harder to handle and thus you must be more skilled to use them. Also for me the other ones in the top post are all fine: Graphically chocolates cakes are a full on victoria sponge style cake that takes quite some time for a single person to eat. Even if I'm being greedy guts that kind of cake would last me at least a couple of days with the eatting spread throughout the day. Meanwhile pizzas I can quite happily eat a 12 inch pizza in 1 sitting as a meal; not to mention pizza we have no sense of scale from the graphic. They could be mini pizzas like 8 inch or so for all we know. Sharks, as I mentioned in other threads previously, there are small species (ie cat sharks), you doont have to assume we are eating great white sharks or w/e
  16. garden connected to a chapel and whatever room you desire for training (ie kitchen) is pretty much all you need for a good player owned house. Other extras you may consider would be a study for teletab making, costume room, quest hall (glory), menagerie and 1 or 2 portal rooms
  17. Voyages to remove capt traits FINALLY can perfect them mofos.
  18. Browsers options of any merit are basically Internet Explorer - flawed security, very clunky. Firefox - tends to run a bit slow because its so sprawling. Chrome - tends to run the best for most users being good and lightweight. So based on your criteria IE is all that is left, though the issues you describe sound like an old/under specced system or a dying system where the browser is not the issue, but the system itself.
  19. Polypore strike kinda sucks as a spell since eoc happened since it is only a level 80 spell limited to the damage of a level 75 spell by the required lvl 75 staff. It doesn't even have the grace to be cheap magic anymore since so few runes get used when using abilities anyway. All 4 surge and barrage spells have higher base damage value and will do better damage with t80 and t90 weapons, maybe even t74 too.
  20. Skipping via points does nothing to task streak.
  21. Jagex wiki being wrong is the status quo of jagex wiki.
  22. After bouncing around reviews and stuff using than Lenovo as a starting point I ended up going with the MSI Ghost 3k - Good tech review sties all rated it among the best gaming laptops, higher than the Lenovo, and I got it cheaper than I could find the Lenovo so seemed like a solid win:win outcome.
  23. So my current 2010 macbook is beginning to give up the ghost and at first I thought I'd save up and replace it like for like (well new model, but y'know) But then I started thinking and I don't really use the macbook for anything, well, maccy (ie video editting etc) So I started bouncing around the idea of getting some else, but my laptop knowledge is limited and I thought'd I'd ask for some ideas. I was thinking a gaming laptop might be a good move since, aside from rs which runs atrociously on mac, I do like some pc gaming (mainly minecraft and sims) so something with the power to get them running well would be nice. But that aside my laptop is just a general day-to-day browsing the net and writing tool. So any suggests for a good buy to get that gaming experience without breaking the bank (ie similar price range of macbooks)
  24. Bad xp, pita to reach the plots, not really anything worth selling for the cost invested. Trees, fruit trees, calquats, cactus and spirit trees are the big ticket xp items and all fairly easy to form into a run. Herbs are the ok xp money grabbers. Allotments are good for high number of actions strange/gold rock hunting. The rest of the specials, bushes and hops are just meh.
