  1. You do realise that exact reasoning is why overrides exist right? So you can have the stats from Bandos but not have to look ugly from wearing it. They expressly allow you to gain the stats you desire and the looks you desire instead of limiting stats in order to avoid ugly armour.
  2. Some additional instances for things like KBD should be coming with the Boss Practice mode or Boss Instancing rework apparently so DKS may well get them too. Boss practice mode is bringing the instancing system to every single boss out there that doesn't already have it and standardizing it across bosses that already use it because bosses have to be instanced to enable practice. Plus its making them better in that they can persist when empty (ie if you pay for an hour but leave you can go back in as long as you have time left, instead of leaving = end of instance)
  3. Soloman's is mostly cosmetic - but people WILL see it. They are all overrides, meaning they appear instead of what you are actually wearing (other than in pvp areas) The only ones that aren't overrides (in terms of appearance based things) is hair styles, but even then with the 'hide helmet' override or other non-full helm overrides it can be seen. All the people you see around who appear to be wearing no armour but are fighting? Those are all Soloman's overrides. The appeal of them is, if you are enjoy the playing with cosmetic look of your character, you get to do so without sacrificing wearing the best gear you can. You can be wearing nothing, bronze, tetsu, sirenic, dragon whatever you like and you'd look exactly the same with overrides turned on. But yeah there are a few useful things - certain auras rock, bank boosters can be handy, keepsake keys to make in-game items into overrides.
  4. Prince Ali was captured by Lady Kelli whilst touring Lumbridge to be ransomed. Also not entirely true that the quest is gone it was remade into Stolen Hearts which has a bit more preamble to set the tone as you end up uncovering the kidnap/ransom stuff by accident. Plus it gives more details of why exactly Keli wanted to ransom him (she wanted the Kharid-Ib) and develops her character and motivations further in the sequel - Diamond in the Rough
  5. I'd disagree on scrolls there. Scroll voyages match the difficulty of your max region meaning they get harder and harder as you progress. Therefore for scrolls you actually desire it is beneficially to clear them out asap in early regions where you can easily 100% them.
  6. So all of those emotes, titles, and weapon overrides are up for grabs again? Call me cynical, but I liked being a special snowflake with my Infernal overrides/WE1 titles that showed I was there during that time... No overrides or titles or emotes, only the warpreist and abilities and they will be overpriced so they arent easy to buy
  7. The build of this event lends itself to 1 shop as the setup is Gielinor vs Tuska. There is a sub-current as to whether the godless, arma, zam or sara win each day tht gielinor wins, but formally they are all on the same side.
  8. Making tasks that long would defeat the entire purpose of slayer. Pre-slayer everyone trained combat by camping out specific mobs endlessly. Slayer's design purpose was to break up mass camping and get people moving around different monsters more - to achieve that it needs to keep the task lengths relatively short and I mean it's not like the tasks haven't got fairly long over the years. Some got buffed up in numbers, Kuradel and Morvan brought longer tasks and the whole pay to extend by 20% thing. To me I think task length is really at it's limits now, any longer and you defeat the purpose of slayer and end up promoting camping again. I mean it's not like task are that bad xp at the lengths they are and at the end of the day if you really want to camp something enmass you can, just not with slayer.
  9. ^ You got the Tuska warpriest effect wrong slightly They said a percentage chance to make you hit max/crit instead of what you were going to hit rather than a direct increase to the chance of max/crit hit.
  10. Their levels are calculated using the same formula as the our combat level. Nothing could make more sense. Instead of an arbitrarily assigned number its a figure derived from the monsters actual stats.
  11. Mithril dragons are still extremely easy to kill. But then again all my combat skills except ranged are at least 95, so that's probably why. Easy to kill and farmable are however not one in the same. Farmable monster are so easy to kill you can stay put for long periods with little supplies and get masses of kills. Mithril dragons don't really reach this status because they eat up a lot of supplies and you can't get that many kills before banking. Compared to, for example, Steels where your ability to stay is limited only by your supply of anti-fires and you can easily kill several hundred in a single trip with no food and only a handful antifire doses. Since Mithrils cannot be farmed their bar drops don't impact to much, adamant and rune dragons will logically be harder to kill and therefore even less farmable making their bar drops less of an issue in the market. How come we are assuming the strawpoll was made up of 'high levels' all of sudden? It was done during a livestream so the only limiting factor was 'people who watch the livestream live' nothing about that dictates they are high level Also why would a poll of people 'super into the game' be an unfair thing for quite late-game content? People who care about the game enough to stick with it and get to that content (aka people super into the game) are surely vastly more relevant in this context than people drifting through who will never play it? But then again that also works on the assumption you have to be 'super into the game' to watch live streams in the first place...
  12. I don't see a need for Addy or Rune dragons to be particularly 'walled off' behind high reqs due to the metal bar drops. I mean Mithril dragons aren't exactly suitable for mass farming due to difficulty which keeps mithril bars pretty safe and these new ones will be stronger than they are.
  13. The other cause of this would be when always-on mode is off but you accidentally hit enter because that will put you into the chat box, much like always-on mode, and disable hotkeys.
  14. If you re-read my posts I only actually said dumb in 3 of them. First was in the context of saying someone did something dumb - and as you note doing something dumb and being dumb are not the same. Second was a sarcastic rewording of your own point, it probably didn't come across so well in text based format by whats done is done, didn't mean for it to be taken all to literally. Third post was purely commenting on using word dumb vs sugar coating. I never actually called a specific person dumb with serious intent I just called the action required to get keylogged these days dumb. Plus dumb doesn't even really comment on someone intelligence, doing dumb things is the results of being rash, foolish, naive or ill-informed sure. But not lack of intelligence, even the smartest people in the world do dumb stuff from time to time. Heck to insinuate dumb somehow means a person lacks intelligence kinda harks back to the outdated and offensive notion that dumb people (in the medical sense of those who cannot talk) are that way due to lack of intelligence opposed to modern knowledge that understands being dumb, much like being blind or deaf has no correlation to ones intellect. As far as I am concerned there isn't anything greatly wrong with the word dumb. Everyone does dumb things from time to time be they a genuinely unintelligent person or a certified genius. We all have our dumb moments and one such moment may be taking the dumb actions that lead to be keylogged.
  15. Have you done Ritual of the Mahjratt? The reqs for getting the Sliske reward are Shadow sword, rotm, fotg and missing presumed death.
  16. I think you'll find I did answer the ops original question - there is no way to immediately kick a hijacker off these days like recovery questions used to offer. I then added in extra information about how to prevent being getting hijacked in the first place emphasising the fact that it is entirely avoidable if your smart with it. I also don't think it's hard to identify fishy sites - they are ones that aren't known names and don't come near the top of search engines for the normal keywords on a topic (ie Runescape) but may appear when you search for things that break rules (ie Runescape Cheats, Free Runescape Gold) It's not like its easy to stumble on to a fishy site, you've got to do some sort of dodgy search or clicking on an iffy ad to get there. Sure some people might not like that I use the word dumb - but whats the point in dancing around sugar coating it? With the protection options existing and the necessity of doing something wrong to get anywhere near being hacked with half way decent AV software it means you did something stupid or dumb and with the tech savviness of kids these days if they are old enough to be using the net unsupervised they are old enough to understand when a site looks dodgy and that such sites can give you viruses which are a bad thing.
  17. Somehow I feel trying to do MEP2 without s guide is going to end in up in a car crash of failure. It's the one of two quests in the entire game I recall that a lot of people can't manage without a guide and one of two that took substantial amounts of time to be beaten by anyone before guides arrived. I know I clocked in at around 8 hours on it and I was among the early ones to beat it! Also at Arceus comment pretty sure the only magic using monster in the area is entirely avoidable as they are in a different locale to where you need to go; the only monster you really deal with is a melee user.
  18. Obviously he didn't have a good enough program then or visited dodgy sites. Visiting dodgy sites even with good AV isn't smart and just because it was a paid for AV doesn't mean it had all the necessary features (ie being a full package spyware etc.) or that it was a decent one. Plenty of paid for AVs that score abysmally in rankings vs some of the good name free ones.
  19. If you use the authenticator, then yes. I can see people getting keylogged without the authenticator though. It is easy to get a keylogger. Its easy to get a keylogger if you are dumb. Any one of the half decent free anti-virus packages and a general 'don't go to weird websites that sound a bit iffy' ethos and boom keylogger proof!
  20. Not really, but in all honesty your doing something wrong in the first place if someone even CAN hijack your account. I mean email/account name instead of display name for log in means almost no-one should know what that portion of your log in is, unless your keylogged. Password shouldn't be something people can guess and therefore again should be safe unless your keylogged. Email for reocvery should ideally be under 2 step authentication making it pretty near impossible to hijack an account via recovery Then whack on authenticator where someone needs your actual device to be able to log in and even if you are keylogged it's pretty darn hard to actually get into the account itself. By all means its not impossible, but like 99.9999999999% of cases of getting hacked/hijacked has got to be because you did something really dumb.
  21. I enjoyed the story of this quest but I feel like the Sliske base puzzle portion was a bit poorly executed. It seems like we could've had a series of progressively bigger rooms to get through each with new obstacles/tricks that can be overcome with specific talents of the party members. I mean what was Jerrod's actual use in the 'sneaking' anyway? He walks up behind the wights that aren't facing him and kills them, using the doors we opened and can readily access ourselves. Then in that final puzzle everyone felt a bit gimmicky/useless other than Jerrod and Moia
  22. Personally I don't see a need to upgrade ava alerter. As far as capes go it is 2nd best ranged cape statswise, only slightly behind the tokharr-hal-xil (With all 3 tokharr-hal's being BIS cape for each given class) and ultimately the worse stats are the trade-off for having the arrow collecting convenience
  23. ^ The salve one is handy on occasion, but for me its the kinda pot I don't keep in stock I make a few when I find a need for them. To date my only real use of them has been in Rush of Blood to make inventory managing a bit easier.
  24. Supreme Overloads are worthwhile as they boost more than overloads and actually work out less gp per dose. Plus pretty decent xp in making em.
  25. 50 Shades of No Hexhunter is pretty much awful these days, it does ok on legacy, but being a shield bow and lower tier than sagi ruins it. For normal modes Sagi short all the way. SSH is not a prefered bind in dg these days either. The optimum setup is: Bind 1 - Main Wep - ideally sagi short Bind 2 - Body or SSH but body is preferred Bind 3 - 2ndary wep, ideally stave Bind 4 - blood neck Bind 5 - 2nd def bind, ideally body to match wep 2 Personally I run it but with legs cause lag and lazy = more dmg taken. Optimum ring setup is deemed to be desperado and blitzer on quick switch. If you have elite sniper blitzer quick switch with desperado 2ndary rawks the house. An alternative I like, again for lazy lag more dmg mode, is desperado blitzer with gatherer 2ndary (less dmg from failing skill doors)
