  1. When I was briefly on crew I wrote the MEP2 guide the day after quest release (having done it myself) and skimmed through the gen discussion thread gathering extra details; didn't take that long at all, added maybe 20 minutes to work time. Just requires skim reading over like 10 pages of posts to spot ones that post details then doing a closer read/look for quotes to see if others verify it etc. Just to me it seems easily plausible to do given the time frame you guys take to get quest guides out of several days; I often find I beat the quest fully read the update threads learning lots of info and have time to go back to normal play + help clan mates through the quest and double check things and still have a time lapse of 1 or 2 days til tip.it guide appears. Perhaps I'm just a hell of a lot quicker and proficient at speed reading/research than current crewbies (being an english lit student and all); but it really does seem given the time frame you guys take atm you could quite easily skim through the gen update and any submissions without it slowing down the process any. Especially given of late a fair few guides have had quite dramatically incorrect details which kinda of casts doubts on the "functional" part of the guide (though tbf mostly they do get fixed quickly).
  2. They have the weildable nets from deadliest catch. Shield slot item; comes in big and small net format, you can clearly see it when they are banking.
  3. i got 5 or 6 cooked monkfish
  4. Court Cases I find Al-kharid warriors give the best rate of obtaining them; and nice and easy to do enmass since they only give coins. Champ scrolls pretty much yea just camp the monster until it drops.
  5. Still second example fact it's there shows I have the items and could easily of given anything else needed at request; I can see the case if its a 1 poster who just turned up to make a submission. But a lot of such submissions post-update are from active users who could quite happily, quickly and easily fill in any info they missed. But yeah I still think the update gen discussion and submissions spawned from it could be put to much better use; this week is a prime example as corrections to the Vanstrom fight in particular I submitted after the guide come out was ALL info readily available and confirmed en-mass in the update thread itself. Don't get me wrong you do a great job, and obviously some submissions do take a while to process. I just mean specifically post-update gen discussion and submissions seem to get entirely ignored these days; and their use could not only speed up many elements of getting the guides out but also often include details about items and quests that later have to be amended as the quest guide writer missed it.
  6. They have all gone north already, its like the tagline end to a mahajaratt quest that they head north.
  7. Personally I think Nomad's master may be Drakan, fits the bill for a powerful master and Drakan is obviously up to something. Trying to gain a soul may be a logical choice for this, which would tie into Nomad's soul harvesting thingy. But who knows, all thats for sure is his master is not Lucien, despite all the "evidence" (that doesn't really evidence any specific person at all), because we know the mahjaratt and nomad stories don't cross
  8. I'd say step 1: Do mort myre fungi as a low end money maker and do as many of the daily money makers as you can especially naff's battle staves. Buying and reselling the staves yeilds ~1k per stave If you make them into elemental staves and high alch you get ~2k Then get mtk up and running asap. In ~1 week max you should have enough collateral to start getting into the cheaper good money makers again; like dragons and tht kinda of thing.
  9. Blurb says we get allies (again) Rocking out I'd say pirate captains help us. Fairy tale 3 I'd say fairy queen sends help etc. Opps, i skipped over that part :L I suppose that's the more logical idea! Though Rocking out was the quest that revealed a good lot about Rabid Jack, was it not? Though I suppose it is the quest were we make most of the pirate allies too, including that weird guy who gave us the Ex-Parrot :P Its when we got the pirates captains confidence and its an Ex-Ex-Parrot fool! What exactly would we gain from an alliance with the pirates though eh? I guess in part IF there was something with the pirates and... *looks around* Rabid Jack was involved, then alright, it would perhaps tie up the loose end that Bill Teach might someday be turned into Blackbeard in game (the real Blackbeard was really called William Teach) and we need to get rid of Rabid Jack for that... However, the only things against Majarrat we'd gain would be rum and cannons... So are we gona take crates of rum to the ritual area, have a wild party and get them all drunk, and then let the pirates fire on them? I know this is Jagex, but even I wouldn't think they'd do that. What Octarine spotted though was there were a few pictures of Mos le'Harmless on the Dev Blog for RotM, and also there are loads of strange rocks about the place (you use your ex-parrot on one to bring it back to life or something I've heard) that have magical ressurectional abilities... So I'd say it's more in line with that. And I agree with the above poster... I find that kinda odd that they don't have NR there too... Just like it's Rocking Out instead of A Clockwork Syringe (thus further disproving the theory of Rabid Jack and the Pirate Captains)... The pirates are suggested to be a formidable fighting force when necessary, just that the modern world has pushed them to the fringes. Plus the ritual site is quite near the sea and pirates have lots of ships, which could give covering fire with cannons in the big battle. Personally I think its perfectly logical that it has nothing to do with Rabid Jack, it's got to be something Rocking Out gives us in terms of abilities and allies. The only the things we get are Rabid Jack lore expanded, useless to mahjaratt fight, and the trust of all the pirate captains, which can be useful in raising an army to fight. Need for Mos Le'Harmless may apply but it can't be the reason for Rocking Out, we only need Cabin Fever for that; kinda like Fairy quests sure we need to get to Kethsi via fairy rings, but that doesn't justify fairy tale 3, all that justifies that is the Queen being indebted to us and again our need for allies. Alos the Dev blog having "alot" of pictures of it is wrong; dev blog has 3 pictures. 1 is mos le'harmless (presumably since jungle horrors are present, but no landmark features to be 100% certain), 1 is fally park, talking to tiffy cashien at a guess by location, 3rd is a "new area" that appears to be a dungeon.
  10. If you do the quest they killed off a whole forest of Blisterwood trees and thought them extinct then this one tree popped up inside the arboretum and despite their best efforts they cannot kill it. The machine's purpose to the vamps was limiting its nutrition to try and kill it, but it only stunted the trees growth. We just abused the machine to give the tree what it needed back.
  11. Based on numbers I've seen the jadinko lair fming is 2nd best xp/hr on fming; only topped by mage logs WITH penance horn. Without horn had lair pwns em and it is much less click and cost intensive.
  12. Friends with all 99s and no 500 burns have got max hits in like 650-700 region. With my stats and full 500 burns I got 750 - 800 max hits. So seems to be like 200 ish max hit increase
  13. Yeah I was expecting the quest to create mage weapon and range weapon for vyres, but just upgrade flail, same as we made flail from rod. Heck we could of used the flail instead of 2 sickles when making the polearm!
  14. Fair enough, the combat corrections were the main thing anyways!
  15. Just something I've noticed a lot lately that seems a bit counter productive when you try and encourage people to help research and want to get guides up-to-date speedily. Each new update the thread in gen discussion gets loads of info posted and quite often helpful users post in website updates and corrections stats, examines, images etc etc for new items and elements of content; yet when the guides and databases of the site get updated several days later none of this info gets used or credited. It would help speed up getting research completed for new stuff and make people less disheartened at submitting stuff that gets utterly ignored to just take a moment to check the forums for info before self-research. After all tip.it has an amazing community that digs up nso much information and details about new content, its a shame to see it being wasted so often. Examples (just taken from where I've posted recently): http://forum.tip.it/topic/300241-temple-treking-burg-de-rott-updating-info/ Loads of temple trekking info and corrections there that still hasn't made it to the guide http://forum.tip.it/topic/300963-assorted-new-darkmeyer-items/ All the info on a fair chunk of the new items from Branches of Darkmeyer; posted way before even the quest guide went up; completely overlooked by crewbie research (judging by the fact I didn't get credit for any of the items when they appeared in item DB)
  16. Flail is useless now, unless you use the special attack and guthix balance. Blisterwood is much much better. And yes the 500 corpse burns apply to all 4 weapons (flail, polearm, stakes and staff) auotmatically

  19. No the first wave of clans have built the fm plot now and all are reporting it does not use your actual timber. It's just misleading wording from jagex in that at the plot you burn timber to make charcoal. To compare two plots: Tree roots are to Timber resource as Timber is to charcoal resource. The first two don't exist as anything other than a graphical representation of something to work at/with to produce the later; which is a tangible "item" of use
  20. I believe so, the only stat req that blocks you buying them (as far as I am aware) is the dungeoneering level require
  21. It is entirely possible to have Bilrach attend without the Daemonheim story coming up. The j mods confirmed many mahjaratt story lines won't come up in the ritual as there is too many of them, but that does not rule out characters being present. I mean we aren't likely to have any furtherance to the Enhkara and Anthankos feud plot arc, but both of them will be there. All it means/confirms to me is that whatever Bilrach is up to in Daemonheim won't come up in this quest, not that he won't show up; afterall between us sneaking around and cleverly located NPCs and scenery you could have all the mahjaratt there but us not be able to speak too or hear any of them.
  22. EVERYTHING made by a human is copyrighted, you little messages you text to your girlfriend, those ideas you work down on a small paper during train: everythign is automatically copyrighted towards you. It covers images, text and games equally. Saying "copyright can't touch anything other than images" shows that you make statements without knowing anything about the copyright laws (laws as there are multiple and depend on the nation, however as runescape is a brittish company you have to abide to the brittish copyright law - at least if your country signed a treaty with the UK, which most countries have except for china). Copyright however only prevents COPYING, not paraphrasing or other forms of using the data. I was talking SPECIFICALLY about Jagex/Runescape copyright in relation to fansites. Only the images can really be touched by Jagex's copyright in that case; because only the images are directly copied from runescape. Plus while you technically do have copyright on anything you produce unless it is officially registered it is limited and rarely holds up in court.
  23. For trees only: 5 Mage 6 palm 1 spirit (2 with stranger plant + quest if you do it) 1 calquat Trees: Lumby, fally, varrock, taverly, gnome stronghold Fruit: Cathurby, Brimhaven, Gnome Village, Gnome Stronghold, Lleyta and Herblore Habitat Calquat is tai bwo wanni (south of brimmy) For speed of round I'd recommend brimhaven for single spirit tree, port sarim if you do a second. Stranger plant is only needed to pot and then re-plant in pouch. If you do it all with 1 spirit its 402.5k in health checks on the 2.7* Would be around 456k for 2 spirit trees
  24. They can coyp right names, but it doesn't effect guides. People can still write about the product using its name etc as long as its not libelous or used to make money. Nothing in copyright stops you using names in non-profit articles and discussions; if it did you'd never get reviews or news articles about anything remotely copyrighted.
  25. This owns. 79+ farming you can do: 5 mage 6 palm 1 spirit 1 calquat Which works out to 402.5k xp on health checks assuming you do it within 2.7*
