  1. Cost effectiveness is the same as cost efficiency. I'm not remotely suggesting cost efficiency = overall efficiency. Obvious examples is big bones are technically very cost efficient; but looking at overall efficiency they are not. All I was saying is comparing gp:hr to your income does show cost efficiency or cost effectiveness.
  2. There are though because you can be efficient in a variety of different aspects of something; and its statistically unlikely that 1 method is gonna be the most efficient in each individual aspect You can be time efficient while being inefficient in costs or vice versa. To use a real-life example - shelf stacking in a supermarket in terms of time. The most efficient way to stack the shelf would obviously be working along it in order. The most efficient way to load the cart to go from stockroom > shop floor would be to stack it neatly and based on weight etc. The most efficient way to collect stock from the stock room is going to be taking whats on hand first. So collecting stock the most efficient way wouldnt result in an efficient loaded cart or enable efficiently stacking the shelves. etc. The overall efficiency is by doing all 3 parts slightly less efficiently individually to make the entire task more efficient. Or an even better example in terms of driving routes: Most efficient distance wise is to go the shortest way (and usually most efficient cost wise too but tht can vary) The most efficient timewise is to aim for faster roads. The most efficient route overall will generally be somewhere inbetween; not taking the shortest route but not diverting too far for faster roads so you don't drive further than u really need too, for longer than you need too or spend more on petrol than you need too. Efficiency in general is the method that best balances all aspects for the best overall outcome.
  3. Which is why I did highlight several times I said it showed economic/financial efficiency in relation to your income. I never said it showed general efficiency that's an entirely different ball park.
  4. I think since Salt in the Wounds came out he leaves witchaven post-kenniths concerns and does not return tl u finish. Waht I've heard anyway.
  5. So working out how much gp something costs per xp then multiplying tht by xp it gains in the hour doesn't give cost per hour? Because of course something tht costs 1gp per xp and makes 100xp an hour doesnt cost 100gp an hour; thats just nonsense! Same way its utterly stupid to assume if you earn $5 an hour (post tax) that by multiplying it by the number of hours you work in a day, lets say 10 to get $50, accurately calculates what you have earned that day in wages.
  6. You have messed up somewhere cause option 1 is the right mirror alignment to send the beam down as it enters the pillar from the western edge. So that pillar you are stood at in most recent picture in SE corner top floor, option 1 will send the beam down to the SE corner bottom floor via the blue crystal on the middle floor. The picture before that is where the green beam should come out, which is a different location entirely to the one you quoted as being stuck on. Also What guide are you using, because that text you quoted isn't in tip.it guide.
  7. No wonder nothing is happening; there's not a beam of light going into the pillar at all, there should be a white line coming from the west into the pillar.
  8. The step you quoted you are following the beam EAST; meaning it is entering the pillar you are at from the WEST. You need to send the beam DOWN. This means the larger top of the mirror needs to be at the WEST and the smaller bottom at the EAST. This is option 1. Having the large bit at the east and small at the west would send the beam upwards. As you are sending it down you put option 1 in and you won't see the beam leaving the pillar, go down a floor to see the beam entering the pillar below from above.
  9. Because he is at a different pillar? Different pillars have different options based on their shape and location. And why is it an issue given that you do not need to put it that way round. The beam is coming from the west and needs to be sent down; option 1 of those available does this.
  10. I don't see what you mean by "wouldn't use in those conditions" the point of HDR is to capture the detail of both dark and light area without the dark being blotted out in blackness or the light being blown out is it not? The sun was setting behind the trees giving a bright sky and fairly dim-dark just in front of the trees. to exposure the garden elements correctly created an utterly blown out white sky, to expose the sky correctly created a black murky garden. So exactly the lighting conditions HDR is intended to work around. Also I fail to see the continued use in commenting on the original three when I have re-attempted further down the page or commenting on how they are compositionally boring when I even said this myself in the initial post as they were just experimenting and first attempts at HDR.
  11. That'd actually make more sense if the context of say my name actually. As obviously if u say silence there is no silence while you say it.
  12. It says top west, bottom east; thats option one. See how the part near west marker is larger to show it is closer to you and the east is smaller showing further away; as the graphic gives a top on view of the pillar this means the west edge is at the top and the eastern at the bottom. As this particular beam is coming from the west it would hit the underside of the mirror and bounce downwards. There is a nice grid in step 4 that shows examples and explains this mechanic.
  13. Like I said: I put ECONOMICALLY efficient for a reason. The example you pick out just illustrates the point, the economic efficiency isn't always in-line with other measures of efficiency. Perhaps it would be a more concise explanation to label it financially economic opposed to economically, but they drive at the same meaning anyway. And it's hardly a formula, it was just basic definitions of what gp:xp, xp:hr and gp:hr ratios are derived from and pointed out that fact that financial efficiency/costs/profits of a method by comparing the gp:hr to your income:hour.
  14. I have to say the 3 fake riddles are quite nice too especially the third, even if they don't help anything: "There are a lot of white keys and 1/4 of them are black. Where do they go? On a piano It captures you. It moves you. Then it's done. It tingles in the back of your head, tempting you to chase it. What is it?" An idea. "If you say my name I am no more." Nothing. I like the twist on this one, in that it's no more once you name it because nothing is a word. So once you say nothing it is not nothing.
  15. Right so solution in full is: [hide] Runes Numbers (rotated clockwise 90 degrees as the reference numbers suggest it should be) 2 = D3 | 9 = G8 | Body = I7 | Fire = B1 - Before rotating number grid and before either is filled in using these references you find how grids are marked. Namely A - I left to right, and 9 - 1 top to bottom. Highlight "riddles" to find the actual riddles: "There are a lot of white keys and 1/4 of them are black. Where do they go? "What is in chalices, seats and platters but not in urns, buckets or thrones?" | L - (X + X) - XXII A is in the first 3 words, but not last 3. Sum: 50 - (10+10) - 22 = 8 A8 It captures you. It moves you. Then it's done. It tingles in the back of your head, tempting you to chase it. What is it?" "I am the beginning of the end, and the end of time and space. I am essential to creation, and I surround every place. What am I?" | X - (V + III) E is first letter of end, last in time and space. Is in creation and starts and ends "every place". Sum: 10 - (5 + 3) = 2 E2 "If you say my name I am no more." "What is the end of everything?" | (X - VII) + (V - II) G is the last letter of everything. Sum: (10 - 7) + (5 - 2) = 6 G6 Apply answers to grids: Note the references for number grid do NOT rotate with the grid once filled in A8 lands on water and 7 so 7 water runes E2 - 4 and fire G6 - 6 and body [/hide]
  16. so you mean I7 = body refers to bottom right of the top square?
  17. Somes gonna have to post how it works out. I can solve the sudoku's but I don;t at all see how you get from them to the solution.
  18. I'd say that's a rather nonsense sum and over complicates matters because you are turning gp:xp into an expression of how much gp you need to earn per xp to break even. But gp:xp is meant to express how many gp it costs per xp. gp:xp = cost of 1/xp for 1 (+ any resale value where applicable) xp:hr self explainatory gp:hr = gp:xp*xp:hr Then you simply compare gp:hr to your income:hr The more economically efficient the method the closer gp:hr is to 1/2 or less of income:hr is this a joke? gp:hr is just how much you spend in an hour. when comparing across multiple different data sets - you're failing to include for the exp difference among the two items being compared. I.e. If you're using Ourg bones compared to Frost Dragon bones Ourg bones cost more then Frost Dragon bones and give less exp. However, by your method - altaring Ourg bone is more efficient then Frost Dragon bones. I smell something fishy... talk about nonsense math. gp:xp * xp:hr = gp:hr does give how much u spend an hour. If it costs 2gp per xp and u get 10xp an hour, you spend 20gp an hour. The rest I don't see wtf your on about. Yes items each vary; but where in anything I wrote does it apply gp:xp, gp:hr or xp:hr are some magic value that includes two different methods. ourg and frost both have their own separate xp:gp xp:hr and gp:hr amounts Also wtf I did say ECONOMICALLY efficient for a reason; namely that that number does only show you how efficient it is in terms of cost/profit; but not necessarily in terms of time, though it often can be. But that aside your apparent outcome is completely wrong: If ourg cost more for less xp. gp:xp is higher and xp:hr is lower. Lets say 300gp:xp 100xp:hr Then frosts have say 100gp:xp at 200xp:hr because they are cheaper and give more xp per bone. ourgs are 3k:hr (300gp*100xp) frosts are 2k:hr I said closer gp:hr is to 1/2 or less than income:hr the more economically efficient it is. So frosts come out more economically efficient, even if you plug in real numbers frosts would come out better because 2k is always gonna closer to 1/2 or less of income than 3k. The inference being: ourgs cost 3k an hour so if you make 6k an hour ur break even. frosts cost 2k an hour so 4k an hour is needed to break even. Assuming 1 hour doing bones, 1 hour money making.
  19. How can you have "everything gone, lots of money, not items" but not afford even a pickaxe etc? Kinda contradictory. But anyway most stores around lumbridge give random free items to get ya started.

  21. From what I've seen, all the answers have been RuneScape related. As far as I know, there are not any grills on RuneScape. I agree with this; to me grill just doesn't work on so many levels. 1) No rs link, not all the clues have rs meanings; but all the answers do Law Rune, Urns, Swords, Cats and Cannons are all items, Rokuh is an npc, Mine carts are in-game, Sailing is an rs meme, we have the Aid system, and we have lots of items we were on our backs (this one rs link deffo more in the clue). Rs has grains and rs has gnomes, but no grills. 2) You cook food with a grill, you don't make food with it which throws part of the clue; considering all the words in the clues had an effect on other answers due to their cryptic forming 3) Wood grill is really obscure and historical; heck even look at the wikipedia page for grilling it doesn't mention them apart from a passing reference under barbeque that traditional it used smoking wood or hot coals, but its quickly lost under the info about how barbeques use flames (from gas) or coals now. 4) All the clues are double barrelled with two separate parts that lead to the same answer; the answer grill doesn't split the clue at all and thats after you overlook the other 3 reasons it don't fit right. Grain fits in with wood and making food in a simialr vein to how other clues break down without a huuuuuuggge stretch. Gnome fits nicely too, though it is a bit more of a tenuous link and a stretch of the imagination and I don't think you could of got to gnome if we didn't know the G
  22. Zaros coming back is good for balance as the gods are paired and the pairs are thrown off by zamorak. Armadyl's law and order balances bandos bloodshed and war. Saradomin's wisdom balances Zaros physical might. Zamarok just throws everything out of whack because chaos is too akin to bloodshed and war and doesn't balance saradomin's wisdom; plus he is the only 100% definite evil god with no good intent. Bandos may love war but then he is a god of naturally war-like races prone to in-fighting and bickering; sure he jumps into any war he can but he doesn't start them. Zaros is the god of strength and might (not 100% definite but implied by the fact he was saradomins opposite number and various other hints etc.) but he also has no proof of being inherently evil; sure the mahjaratt are a bit evil but worth noting its pretty much all zamorakian mahjaratt who have done evil deeds, not zarosian ones: enkhara imprisoned Akthanakos, Bilrach has enslaved hundreds in search of a great power under daemonheim, Hazeel is a warlord who wnats to redominate ardougne, Khazard again a mean warlord dude, Lucien and Zemregoul both obvious evil. Compared to Wahisietel who is so neutral no-one knows where he is, Kharshai who is of average power and possible imprisoned, Jhallan who is a generally quite nice and just wants to survive the ritual, Akthanakos who was imprisoned and Azzandra; none of these guys have shown any evil intent and they are all Zarosian. Sliske is the only question mark, as far as we know his allegiance is Zarosian, but he certainly isn't too nice given the barrows cursing episode and the awakening of nex.
  23. perhaps y'know actually doing the task/achievement tutorial will make it go away?
  24. Seems easy enough to bodge up, find sumat to stick on it tht'll do the same job. Bits of eraser tend to work well.
  25. Yeah dbone value dropping cause more people cottoning onto infernal ashes being better gp:xp ratio with barely any extra time. For a while you could buy 1.5x as much prayer xp in infernal ashes as u culd in dbones for same money and due to how close they are in xp value it barely impacts time spent doing it. Plus as mentioned if u can bear the extra time they r very easy to ecto; personally I still altar them
