  1. I'd say dont get it; or at most go to 8-10 as its not wasting too much time
  2. Boxed processors pretty much always come with pre-applied paste but it's rarely a very good paste and it is more like to be applied to the fan than the cpu itself. But good paste (Arctic Silver) only costs like $5 at most so its hardly a big expense if you do decide to have some just in-case or to remove the cheap preapplied stuff in favour of better stuff. Sata II is the standard, sata III is beginning to come in now as well, it just affects data transfer speeds of devices that support it but is always backwards compatible (eg a sata iii port can still run a normal sata i device, you just won't get the faster data speeds) Personally I would swap out the mobo I've heard a lot of bad things about MSI including heaps of doa boards and boards where the bridge chip bits fall off and boards that short themselves out on first boot. That cpu you aren't gonna do much cheap if you want anything remotely good as the step down in price would be to a duo-core which is kinda out-dated for desktop computing now and you'd be hardpushed to find 64-bit compatibility on any cheaper ones.
  3. They are just part numbers, unlike most consumer goods they don't give them a flashy name they jsut stick with part numbers. You don;t need to worry too much about the numbers meaning beyond the full chain is your product.
  4. have you sorted out the boot order in bios to tell it to boot from the harddisk?
  5. AMD motherboards aren't a brand as such. It's just motherboards have to have a cpu socket. cpu sockets are VERY specific. The only two cpu makers out there really are intel and amd and both use their own sockets (eg intel might have socket 75 while amd has am2+); so people group motherboards as intel and amd based on which brand their socket supports. So it'll be an amd motherboard with socket --- made by ---- For example my current build has an amd motherboard made by Gigabyte with the AM3 socket. And yeah you pretty much summed up sata; if you have 6 internal sata ports you can have 6 sata devices. Harddrives and optical drives (cd/dvd) are all sata these days.
  6. If you want to save money I'd look at AMD based motherboards. AMD boards and amd cpus are generally cheaper than intel so you can get similar spec much cheaper. Kingston and Crucial are good for cheaper ram too. Motherboards I'd personally stick with Asus or Gigabyte for brand, off brand ones may be cheaper but motherboards are so delicate it's better to spend a little more and get a reliable brand. But yeah you wanna look at ram compatibility to make sure you got ddr3 and if you want 3 hard-drives and a optical drive you'll need 4 internal sata connectors as a minimum
  7. Static stuff is pointless for a one off job, the odds of you being static enough to cause damage is minute and is easily negated by touching something metal before you start working and make sure you work on a non-metal surface. DDR3 ram you really not gonna get jsut 2 gb, in my recent shopping for pc parts ddr3 only comes in 2gb sticks in a 4gb kit; smallest solo stick is 4gb. and since you want paired ram anyway for better performance youll prob end up with 4gb and you'll want it if you intend to do intensive gaming. Graphics cards is depends entirely on how powerful you go, for a standard mid-range one that can cope with most gaming needs probably 30 - 50 is about average price. In terms of cases unless you get a mini one most tend to have 4 or 5 harddrive bays. In terms of starting a build you really wanna look at motherboard first as the form-factor, number of connectors (especially sata) , ram compatibility and cpu socket pretty much define the build. Also don't expect too much for that kinda of budget a reasonable cpu will run you 60+, decent mobos 50+ with most of the good ones in both cases being ~100. Going for ddr3 is gonna push costs up as it costs more, the mobos that support it cost more AND most mobos that support it have high end cpu sockets. Optical drive no reason it can't work, its a dvd drive so it serves the purpose.
  8. Do they mean a holiday as in a holiday or a holiday as in a break? You say that as if there is a difference. All holidays are a break from something. Anyway what does it matter, its just typical jagex humour based around people usually summer holiday in august and theres SOOOOOO much good stuff in august bts clearly no rser would have time to go on holiday cause theyll be so busy checking it all out. That was trollish in my opinion. I've noted that most people in work terms refer to holiday as a break. Also Jagex has been known to make attempts to represent barious cultural holidays, but not express them outright in their BTS'. I honestly wouldn't put it past them to sneak a hint of one of these types of holidays into the BTS. How on earth is it remotely trollish to explain the meaning i see behind the statement?
  9. I wouldn't be surprised if the mini-game updates are spread across the month to give them all play time. So perhaps warrior guild games are gonna get a vamp this week

  11. Not even cause of the quest; just cause ur a noob at mage lol
  12. I believe games neckalce to corp then run north to lava to edge of greater demon isle (?) and telegrab the white berries is faster. There's like 3 spwans iirc so you can stay put til full invent, then run bk to corp so u can tele tp bank. Not sure having never tried it myself; fastest method of all would probably be to plant up white berry bushes and harvest to your hearts content day after day. But thats more effort.
  13. The irony of money drain skills is the intentional money drains aren't even remotely close to being the most costly.
  14. unfortunately nearly all of them are stupid ideas. Personally only archaeology and engineering hold any merit, especially since engineering could open a whole host of new smithing opportunities to make the items. All the ones like swimming are stupid because you can describe them as agility-like or w/e which just means they are not worthy of a skill and if added should be part of an old skill. Eg swimming is agility-like so should just be part of agility. No reason for it to be seperate.
  15. jagex alwasy recruits pmods; but it has nothing to do with reporting as they have said a million and one times. They just pick people at random with good records or do their forum recruitment. The only thing reports factor in on is tons of bad reports = not gonna get pmod as ur useless at spotting real rule breaks.
  16. story of rs [wagon]es: Not talking = bot Talking = player. Despite the fact many players dont talk and many bots can talk.
  17. I don;t see how knowing in advance helps you in anyway to set goals for later? Afterall you can't keep surplus resources, it "wastes" at the end of the build tick so ur left with virtually 0 again
  18. Threw in an application as usual. Good luck to all!
  19. I highly suggest you store everything you can in a house. The costume room and bookcases will hold nearly everything you need. If you can't store it, consider whether you really do need to keep hold of it. That way, your bank isn't cluttered when you don't need that stuff, and more importantly, it keeps itself organised. It's fine to hoard, so long as you do it properly ;) According to rune wiki, there's 83 books that can go in the bookcase alone. This is so true. ALL important/useful keys will go on the keyring. Any important/useful armours will go in the costume room. All important books will turn up in poh bookcase. Its only really weapons and a few misc items (commorb) that have no place to go and are worth storing for future quests (eg invadis flail) Keys and armours that can't be stored and are from a stand alone quest or a finished series are not worth storing.
  20. Where from that? As far as I am aware: C1 c2 c3 weapon and armour for ALL combat classes is placed in ur invent C3, c4, c5, c6 random weapons and armours appear on the tables. Nothing guaranteed on specific combat types.
  21. Starting tables are random, in lower complexities you'll get gear for everything. In higher its hit and miss what you get; I find I usallay get 1 bow, 1 arrow type, 2 - 3 different runes, a melee weapon and 1 armour piece for at least 2 combat classes; but beyond that its utterly random
  22. Well it goes on keyring so hardly a bank space eatter and I'd assume anyone who dislikes the maze would have common sense enough to keep it given that the quest series is not over and the destroy menu clearly indicates safalaan is the one who can replace your key and he is at the far end of the maze.
  23. I meant the posts that are viewing instances as something entirely new to rs and this update has suddenly paved the way for instanced boss dungeons to raid. Don't make sense to me, instancing is nothing new in rs; BA, poh, pc, many quest areas, ma etc etc are all instanced. The way has been paved for a long time, this update was just a new cross-server instancing.
  24. Yeah citadels have a few features to promote hanging out but they need more. I think the absolute most obvious one is more portals to mini-game etc. Let us form various teams and then use portals to automatically take all the team to 1 world. Like if we form say a cwars team then leader uses cwars portal it'll go the a world of leaders choosing (so the cwars world probably) and take the entire team with. And for actual team type things like dg and ba portal would let you jump straight in to the wave or the dungeon. Heck even let us earn trianing spots by convoluted methods eg bringing 10000 of an ore to clan bank to allow a mining spot to stock tht ore. Have a "forest" farming plot where you need say 100 of a tree seed in clan bank to grow a small grove for wcing, but its unprotectable has triple growth time and each tree diseases independently and if one dies it kills off the whole thing Make it so using real items we can build like a furnace an anvil a range. Give us a special "hunter" ring that with hunter and slayer reqs give us chance of special spirit shard type drops from monsters then charge us a fair number of them to spawn them in a pen/dungeon in the citadel. So like goblins you'd need say 1 hunt 1 slayer and 2 of the item where as abyssal demons you'd need like 90 odd in both skills and maybe 200 odd of the item. Give us big heavy fish tanks that each hold 1 fish to allow us to catch live fish to make fishing spots Make us use high level magic to create a fishing lake, or a farming plot or w/e
  25. I don't see where people are getting oh YAY they invented instances we might get some new instanced bosses from. News flash: instances have existed in-game for years and years and years; all this did was create instanced worlds where players from all servers are grouped together onto an instanced server to help densely populate a game or area that needs it without people needing to world hop.
