17-Aug-2011 - Temple Trekking: Revamped
Jayne in burgh de root final reward unlimtied druid pouch sounds handy. Also good tip: Mages and rangers (follwoers that is) have auto retaliate off attack something in cmb event (works best on easy so u dont die) and get between monster n follower. Just stand there and let them do all the damage, they level loads then. Works-ish with meleers too but they likely to get attacked and need food resupplied.

LRC Mining
I know how the urns work, I can make them myself. I meant the methodology of mining with urns at lrc for increased xp rate due to the lack of a normal bank to resupply urns with.

LRC Mining
Need to finish off 99 mine really and wanna do it fast so figured it's about time I do LRC "properly" with urns etc. But I don't really get how to do it with urns without significantly slowing myself down in order to get the urns. So explain plx?

Gem bag
From everything I have heard Gem Bag certainly isn't one to have high up your buying priorities but it is useful in the end on many slayer tasks as gems; while not the most valuable commodity ever, are valuable enough to be worth grabbing with the bag.

Dunblane Cathedral HDRs
I'd my fiddling with HDR I do find some colours can flare weirdly. Though this has reminded me i need to drive out to Ely catherdral on a clear day at sunset for some HDRs tht will hopefully come out good and some standard shots.

Dunblane Cathedral HDRs
I like the first two; the later three feel as if they are too sharp but I think its a bit of an optical effect due to all the strong lines. Plus the later three also seem slight washed out colour wise (third one not so much but still slightly) and there does appear to be some weird purple flaring in all three. But on the whole nice shots

Livid Farm
Each task gives xp and points individually. Yes you will gain points slower, but you can do as little as you like as long as you do SOMETHING. Also fyi the teleports SUCK, they land you nowhere useful.

Habits picked up from video games
Whenever a psychotic robot takes me prisoner in an abandoned test facility and I turn mute I always grab my portal gun to escape.

Release Candidate. They code updates in isolation then when they are in a raw form (eg no graphics or dialogue or sounds) they go into the test servers. The test servers are running runescape updates that we won't see for months - years in various states of completion and are the first wave of play testing and bug testing. Once content is completed there and reaches launch week it its copied to the RC server; this server contains ONLY the current game + the next update. Here they do the last minute tweaking and bug testing (as a code from something tht was on test server might of been used by mistake thus breaking content etc) Then RC server is what then sends out updated game data to all the game servers.

[WIP] The Concise Guide to Runescape Lore And History
Wow major delay! Life got hectic! But the third age overview is finally up! Aim to get the 4th and fifth age up this week as well, then gonna get to work on the individual stories/races. Also think it may be worth throwing some maps into the age overviews to show roughly where kingdoms/dominions lie

Elemental Workshop IV
Coal bag is probably a good tip for most of the EW series to have included. Afterall, if memory serves, all but ew1 require 2 bars

Fremmy hard tasks
Yes the task for unlocking the first livid spell requires you to buy to teleport south of falador spell, which is the first livid spell.

Ardougne Tasks
E2 and E3 both reference the issue of buying from the silk trader and stall stealing; should be noted this issue avoidable by using a Vial of Stench after Buyers and Cellars. So overall edits would be items required change Silk to Silk (or Vial of Stench) E2 Method: Attempt to steal from any of the stalls or pickpocket a guard, if you brought a Vial of Stench steal from the silk stall to aid the next task; if not avoid this stall as it will prevent you completing the next task. E3 method: Offer to sell the silk for 120 coins to the merchant, then say you want 60, and he will accept. If using Vial of Stench silk can be stolen from his stall; else it can be obtained from Al-Kharid's silk stall or other players.

museum kudos
I'm pretty sure you don't I recall getting one while woodcutting after just coming back and having no idea what the stones were. I think they altered it when they added the option to turn off getting rocks; so it would depend when you came back. But I'm not entirely sure, either way if he's not getting rocks he needs to talk to them. @Essiw given he mentioned having kudos already and being 5 short to get varrock armour 3. And kudos getting is p2p, as is the varrock task set its safe to say he is P2P

melzar maze reëntering
Worth noting once in you still have to deal with killing for the coloured keys if you wish to progress deeper into the maze.

Herblore - guthix balance
Stat Restore + garlic = 25 xp and produces Guthix Balance (unf) Guthix Balance (unf) + silver dust = Guthix Balance and also gives 25xp You are only getting half the xp as you are doing half the work.

Path of Glouphrie
Oh you mean: That bit? Cause I'd agree other than the last step it is utterly pointless, given that the guide already told you to convert to chimes and it is also pointless in tips and tricks as it features in the main quest guide. Also the key part: I partly think you may be right; but to my knowledge Golrie only features in the Waterfall Quest and that is a pre-requisite for this quest =S But based on other websites etc post-waterfall quest he shouldn't be locked in. Rather confusing! lol

Path of Glouphrie
How could the chime step be made clearer I do not see. It says go to the crystal bowl - very simple Revert you're saw to seed form - there's an option for it on the bowl so very simple. Then use the sing option - again very simple. There isn't really anyway to make it simpler as it just lists the 3 steps in order in the most concise and direct way possible. The key may be a good point, though I never recall needing a key down there myself, but been a while!

Elemental Workshop 3 Help
Tip.it guide = pwnage for this quest. But anyway judging by that picture you've got the centre down and now need it to spin right? So A - F are top to bottom at sides. 1 - 7 left to right Pull 4, B to charge the pillar. Then C, 3 to raise it again. Then 4, 3, 4, B, C, 3 will act to drop, charge and raise the pillar again for quick recharge for 2nd+ bar

You have to speak to the guys at the table by the statues base on the ground floor; IIRC you won't start getting them until you have spoken to this person.

Photo Log - 15th Oct new stuff
Trying to get close ups of my cat with a suitable lens would be like camera suicide. She'd try to play with it or run away! I see you're point about the plants etc, but I do like photos of animals in their environment kinda thing more than close ups as you get a sense of character and I don;t quite know why but I feel the third one invokes a sort of beatrix potter-esque feeling with the sort of pathway and fence behind (makes me think of an illustration which was in Peter Rabbit). So I guess that's a personal taste thing. Oh and an edit is en-route; just uploading some macro work I did a bit later which has a few interesting shots at least (IMO)

Thing is, Jagex's screenshots fall in the lower quality spectrum. They shouldn't have size issues with their webserver, there's no reason for using jpg. Its not about server space its about bandwidth and load time for users. Not everyone has blisteringly fast broadband. Besides I don't see any quality issue in them, yes the edges may be jittery but they never take screenshots on max graphics settings and the edges in rs are a bit jittery without anti-alias on.

Because despite what people think they know with their ill-informed views that only have half the facts jpg is a good picture format. A high-res jpg loses so little quality its not perceptible to the human eye and is nearly always a smaller file size than a png. All good website devs and digital photographers use jpg (well photographers use RAW too, but that's not really an image format a such) Yes jpg has some limits, lower quality saves look aweful, can't do transparency etc. but all in all jpg > png when working online.
