  1. Things like Arceus are pronounced Ark-E-Us instead of Arr-See-Us.... They seem to have issues pronouncing things like they are spelled. There are a few others, but I can't think of them at the moment. Arguably in your example both are pronouncing it like it is spelt, it just depends how you break it down because it does literally have the word 'arc' in it. Ark-E-Us = Arc/e/us Arr-See-Us = Ar/ce/us
  2. I've heard the minigame thing about skilling boss before and I don;t think it holds water at all. Just because you use skills to beat it how is it any different from any other boss encounter to warrant being a minigame? You still enter a boss chamber and have to work to defeat the boss using the environment to your advantage. Just instead of it being a case of knowing where to run to avoid attacks or dodging bombs and such, its knowing where to go to grab the necessary things to secure victory - kinda not all that different from say climbing up a wall to jump on Vorago to get a mace part. Why should using skills other than combat magically make it into a minigame? It still follows the same basic principles of a boss battle? If a skilling boss ought to be a mini-game, then so too should every other boss be classed as a mini-game or if skills some how magically = minigame but combat doesn't then all the combat mini-games should be evicted from that status as they obvious don;t use skills and therefore must be simple pvm and pvp and not a minigame at all.
  3. Don't forget that the celestial dragon dungeon is a direct clone of the brimhaven dungeon one, no retextures or anything. Straight up duplicate.
  4. One Of A Kind O O A K l2questacronym
  5. I think they are both somewhat interchangeable. If you truly sat down and tried to define them to a solid thing I would tend to agree with newb being new to it and noob being the sort of useless kind of thing, but like most slang words they are so context driven and vary even from game to game it is hard to truly separate them into finite meanings as they are ultimately the same word, 1 is just a literal abbreviation of 'newbie' and the other is a leet-speak variant upon it.
  6. Unless of course we get t70 out by, i don't know, the elf city causing them to bottom out appropriately and then move em when no-one cares to throw in t80 or t90 ones. Eh, I'm pretty sure if the developers actually cared more they could produce an appropriately difficult task/process to create a level 71 pickaxe/hatchet and add it to the Elf City. I don't think there's a need to intentionally downgrade dragon tools by making them way more common, but rather just add an appropriately more difficult method to get the tools of the next tier up. I wasn't saying make them way more common - there's plenty of mid-high end drop table things like rune and alike that are fairly rare as drops go or lower end monsters that could benefit from a rarer valuable drop. You could downgrade them from prestigious drops of top end mobs without making them super common. Equally of course u can make t70 suitable challenging to get, the trouble arises though of how far can you push that limit? What about when t80, t90 or even maybe someday t99 come? Will it still be ok that t60 mid-low end items are so hard to get and thus forcing the high tiers to insane levels to acquire? Also is undercutting an overly prestiged tier really that bad? Barrows and GWD certainly do a good job of undercutting basically all of dragon bar pick and hatchet in difficulty to obtain.
  7. Unless of course we get t70 out by, i don't know, the elf city causing them to bottom out appropriately and then move em when no-one cares to throw in t80 or t90 ones.
  8. Easily fixed though. Take dragon drops from their existing monsters, insert them in place of rune drops in the generic 'mid-high' drop tables. Insert t70, t80 or t90 items in their place where appropriate and where not fill in with other good value drops. Just requires jagex to get over the notion dragon items must stay in their prestigious drop slots because thats where they began - I doubt many people would really care if kq lost d chain or miths lost d full etc. as long as suitable higher replacements where injected in.
  9. I made a large post on that thread about skill reworks and the fob off on crystal pick n axe.
  10. Let Mod Krista hitch her wagon to his pre-done AI and use his power of having previously got free dev-time content approved and get a solid "grass-roots" summ rework done plx? I mean off the top of my head weren't Rots and I wanna say Vorago, but maybe KK both projects Chris L did in free time and then pitched to get in-game?
  11. Hurray we aren't getting useful items from a very obvious potential source because a skill rework that has been on the cards since like 2009-2010 ish is supposed to happen sometime before we die of old age. I mean seriously? Smith rework was mentioned well before Artisans Workshop to the point people got mad at artisans workshop because it was not the rework we were promised and that launched in mar 2011 which is nearing 3 1/2 years ago! Not doing something because of theoretical reworks is frigging dumb and annoying unless they would care to sit down and tell us WHEN these reworks will be done and then STICK to it or inform us if plans change (unlike con rework being out on 2013, expect it nvr happened and was entirely ignored until they mentioned in passing in a qa it wasn't even dev and none of the skill reworks would be this year, because never mind the fact you mentioned ALL of the reworks in the '2014' segment of your own pr-fest convention or anything)
  12. Tbf it looks quite nice. The dev-build image yes uses the current model - but they told us at the start they just plug in existing assets and grey-blocks to get an idea before graphics are done; but on the page after that image they paint-over concept for the div crater looks very good.
  13. No t70 pick and hatchet? WHY YOU DO THIS JAGEX. Also kinda disappointed that the t80 crystal stuff is degrade to dust, I can see that it has an extra edge but it seems a bit much for parts of it: Thrown we don't have t80 2h Slash we don't have t80 (halberd is slash right?) I can see why it is kinda fitting though for like staff, wand/orb etc. even if I'd rather they not. The light familiar sounds nice too - no more bad green tears. Not that I'm likely to need tears by the time batch 2 launches in november.
  14. Some how I doubt they'd let you modify the watermark since its purpose is hardcoded advertising - it displays where the picture came from thereby making viewers potentially look it up and thus garner more users.
  15. I hope these doesn't mean crystal stuff *only* upgrades to t80 or a max of t80 - though budget wand and orb ftw lol
  16. Yeah it used to be +100 for pincers because for most (all?) voyages you stats were under 10k and 1% of 10k = 100 so under 10k 1%<100 But then in new regions you get past the 10k mark so the 1%>100
  17. Personally I think the asset reuse in this quest was handled much better than they did it for Ooak. Yes it its perhaps noticeable it is based off the same map as Frenskae if you look at the maps side-by-side or have recently played that content, but overall its not an overwhelming sense of this is a copy it just feels a little similar. Plus unlike in Ooak it isn't just a straight up copy, they have used the same base for the map, but it has been modified - the paths and areas are not 100% identical and it has been entirely retextured. If this is how they reuse assets in the future to allow for quicker dev to a higher quality I would not mind at all; much better than straight up un-altered clones and if they had released this content a bit further away from Freneskae's launch it probably wouldn't even feel that similar until you saw the maps.
  18. True true it was not discounted entirely, but it is just sort of implied - we assumed Bandos lost power due to the necklace/avatar malarky but then Zanik reveals Bandos specifically gave some of his power/life force to save her thus weakened himself implying the power loss was not infact caused by the avatar thing as previously assumed. Especially since the power loss thing to the extent of losing a godhood tier was never canonically in the original quest it in of itself was a retcon explanation by Jagex once the gods and tiers arrived since it was mentioned in passing Bandos used a lot of power for the avatar and it'd weaken him for a time. Where as this instance is a literal in-game canon reference to what happened to Bandos power in regards to Zanik.
  19. That was the original notion presented in the quest and still holds true, but in terms of the energy that weakened him this quest has retconned and decided that when we took half dead Zanik to the tears Bandos himself poured a portion of his energy into her to save her, weakening himself in the process.
  20. I think the thing that got me most with the Zanik in this quest
  21. If you thought stab worked fine you were sorely deluded; pre-eoc waterfiends had very high defence to all but crush, enough to make a noticeable dent in dps to even the highest level weapons. But anyway in eoc land they are weak to bolts.
  22. Just because its ear marked I wouldn't expect anything remotely soon. Summon rework was 'earmarked' was eoc Mine/Smith rework was officially mentioned as far back as BoE and pre-artisans workshop. Agility they have 'wanted to do something more with' pretty much since shortcuts. Construction was also earmarked to be happening in 2013 Last we heard none of these were in dev or likely to be in dev this year. So it looks like late 2015 if we are lucky for any of these reworks, but given that invention ought to be entering dev soon and arriving in 2015 I would not be surprised if they put the reworks off further.
  23. I have to say the Bandos lore book was rather interesting. Spoilt, petty child much? Also interesting to see that the Edicts sword stabby moment wasn't as finite as we all thought (as it it didn't erect the edicts and immediately force everyone out) it seems as thought it erected it and simultaneously Guthix pushed Sara and Zammy out before then visiting the other gods that had to be dealt with in turn. Nice touch makes a bit more sense how Seren had time to decide to explode instead of leave and a more satisfying structure to the idea Guthix 'let' Brassica stay - it wasn't a special edict feature he just literally did not see a reason to send him packing. Though it does rather pose a shade more interest on the point of Tumeken's status since in lore sources we have seen his silhouette amongst the 'waiting to return', been told he went to sleep instead of leave, been told while 'sleeping' her literally divided into 4 pieces to make het crondis apmken and scarabas and been told he literally exploded to stop the mahjratt war and wasn't seen again. Plus it makes Guthix seem a bit prudeish since he made Marimbo leave, though we do not really finite know if Marimbo was actually here when the edicts happened.
  24. I see a flaw here: There was only 4 to be killed during the searching portion as 5 was the one at your camp that starts that segment. I wanna say number 4 is ur wrong one, but I'm having a hard time recalling if 2 was one I killed or not. (I did kill all 8 XD)
