  1. No because high level =/= quester. Equally completing the elf series thus far does not require you to be high leveled. I think a hub is more to do with what is in the area than the city itself persay - I mean sure furnace, bank, spinning wheel, pottery oven etc. are the basics but its more than that. Low level hubs have like iron and tin and copper and willows etc. A high level hub would need magics and elder and crystal and rune and addy and coal and concentrated ores etc.
  2. Yeah since the rules are identical across all 3 games they aren't treated separately in terms of punishment - the punishment is applied to your account and that account is the same whether you play rs3, osrs or rsc.
  3. Tbf they do have a solid plan for Kudos Isle and it is likely to come up soon, they mentioned there is probably a dragonkin there and with the kin being one of the three big sixth age quest strands it seems like it should draw that in to dev fairly soon. I never really worry too much on Kudos Isle, the fact it does not exist at all makes it easy to ignore where as Menaphos, Priffindas and Arposanda are all partially there toying with us. Task set with elf city (and with any new city really) would be amazing because the point of a task set is to make you explore and find new things - great for noobs hitting the game after the tasks exist but for most of us task sets are less about exploring and more about arbitrarily doing random stuff in places we know well. It'd be nice to kind of have the proper experience of using it as a tool to explore and learn about an area you don't know for once. I have to say these past few years Jagex has done a pretty good job at finally rounding off many things and the trend seems to be continuing, which is nice. We have a loose deadline for the elf finale in quest 200. We know the next parts (possible finales?) for gnomes and pirates at least have concepts floating around. The elemental workshop guy has made reference to plans for the final parts of that series Mod Ana has alluded to concepts for the myreque continuation/finale. Death of Chivalry/Sixth age/maybe world event 2 all set up a good foundation for teasing out the end of the Temple knights arc (and maybe king vallance finally!) Desert they have been talking a lot about trying to finish up, the Ozan remakes did a lot to join things together and make a more coherent plot and we know now they want to do a Het quest and a Crondis quest before it ends so it is getting there and sixth age seems to make its finale more likely - Afterall Mod Osbourne has alluded to the fact that Tumeken's dream came about from him going to sleep to avoid the edicts and that the four facets he created (Het, Crondis, Scarabas and Ampken) are literal fragments of him that have to be reunited for him to come back. About the only major series strands I can't think of being alluded to in anyway at all recently (of those that are unfinished) is the monkeys and the penguins.
  4. Tbf around 2012 they did say they'd release elf task set with the city, so its not beyond possible.
  5. Ah, but most of them seem to be places where some things have higher drop rates anyway or have previously had double drop events. Eg Chaos tunnels drop more charms, kbd and kq had double drops previously. But then not all of them seem such I can make out Chaos Tunnels Rev Dungeon Stronghold of Security Falador Mole Barrows KBD Kalphite Queen Then last two are un-readable.
  6. Doesn't really seem to be anything interesting there they are all quest folders prefixed as quest_x And they all seem to be for stuff we already have: Garden - Garden of Tranquility Generals Shadow - The miniquest Gertrudes Cat - Quest Giant Dwarf - Quest Glomem (I think) - Glorious Memories Goblin Diplomacy - Quest God Emisarries - The tasks Golem - The Golem Grand Tree - Quest Grim tales - Quest Handsand - The Hand in the Sand Hauntedmine - Quest Hazeel cult -Quest Holy grail - Quest Horror - Horror from the deep Humble Roots - I think they referred to one of the tutorials as this, maybe the newest one; probably they only slight question mark I've got Hundred - Given the quest context Recipie for Disaster Ice Mountain - Quest Ict Little Helper - Icthalrin's Little Helper Ikov - Tmeple of Ikov Imp Catcher - Quest Jungle Potion - Quest Kenniths Concerns - Quest Kharshai - miniquest Kings Ransom - Quest Knights Sword - Quest Land of the goblins - Quest legends quest - Quest let them eat pie - Quest lost tribe - Quest lost city - Quest love story - Quest lumb cat - I'd guess short for Lumbridge Catacombs aka Blood Pact, or the mask miniquest thing down there. lunar - Lunar Diplomacy mahjarrat - Could be any number of quests (rotm etc) or simply a common data pool for the npcs to help ensure they get updated universally in all content, especially since all of them only appear/disappear in quest or due to quests. making history - Quest meeting history - Quest merlins crystal - Quest misc - Miscallanious stuff obviously mm - monkey madness
  7. Everybody seems to make the same mistake: Elf city does not mean elf quest. During runefest they specifically spoke of looking at ways of releasing the elf city, including releasing each of the 8 segments separately and only 1 being linked to the quests, everything else said on it had no hint of the quests at all being mentioned. Implication was even made of it being purposefully open to all due to the whole Seren 6th age milarky. Independantly of this they said they would be working on the next elf quest with it aimed to be the 200th quest at the latest. All signs, the brief glimpse of poll topics included, indicate that they have indeed separated the city from the quests - if it was going to be the quest, which then gave us the city, it would be billed as Inventor or elf quest/elf finale, but this is specifically billed as the elf city only.
  8. ELF CITY PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! Whilst I want the elf city they fact they seem determined to seperate it from the elf quest line in terms of release hugely concerns me. It's like they've had us working away from all these years with this mega plot that hinges entirely on not being allowed in to the city and the city being reverted to seed and they are just gonna go lol no here it is! And do a hack job on underground pass onwards plot content to explain it away and thereby utterly ruin the elf series before the finale happens. That or the finale for the elves will arrive and alongside it the entire elf series will be made into 5th age flashback quests to allow everyone and their mum in to the elf city without doing jack but still trying to make it cool and special that we 'unlock' the city via the quests. But then should we really be surprised when they made such a bad job of ending the dwarf series? Good quest in of itself, but utter rubbish as a finale in that it left like 50% of the plot threads unresolved, and like 99% of those it did resolve was through very dismissive dialogue or weird twists rather than an actual resolution plus it just heaped on a bunch of its own unfinished strands.
  9. Letting us vote on everything - good move. Pitting updates without any sort of similarity or connection (eg invention and elf city) against each other - bad move. Pitting two updates that are both highly wanted and both some what promised for the coming year against each other both with etas of july/august implying one won't make it in to 2014 - ruined the whole idea. Also the focus on high level content concerns me; unless of course in this focus they intend to transplant 2 of seismic, ascensions and drygores (and kinda sirenic etc. too) to new 'high level' content that ACTUALLY makes all 3 balanced in terms of difficulty to acquire. After all it's not like you designed a combat system wholely dependant on tiers being balanced and therefore, by proxy, all/most items within a tier being obtained by equal mean and then screwed it over at the first opportunity by putting the level 90 gear across 4 different bosses (plus a bunch of slayer monsters) that are all at completely different difficulty levels....oh no wait yes you did.
  10. Personally I'm not a fan of the idea of enchanting persay. What I do think would be a good move, however, is playing with Jagex's previously mentioned desire to do away with ammo entirely would be to rehash runecrafting as an imbuing skill - as in the art of embedding magical properties in to something (so essentially enchanting with a fancier name) Then you could branch away from the strict rune-classifications to do more stuff like this suggestion, could also potentially move the existing enchantment spells out of magic in to imbuing. Plus it still makes sense for crafting runes as you are imbuing the magical energy into a hunk of rock. Would also open it up to more logically move mage items out of crafting and into the skill - eg you are taking 'normal' materials that are shown to work well with magic and using magic to weave them both in to a wearable form and implanting various defences etc. Plus that'd have the nice side effect of achieving the reasonably popular notion of each combat class having it's own artisan skill opposed to range and mage being jumbled up together.

Unfortunately this is far from the best setup and no-one should be advised to use this ever again unless a substantial change happens in the market. Maples tanked and so did nests and they do not come close to the top contenders these days (herbs, coal and raw fish have been the top 3 in various orders for a good 2 yrs now). Some might go 'oh but I use the items to train so it's better.' This is also an outright lie and wrong. Yes picking an option you want to train using the items may give you the items directly, but this does not make it better. The items you get still have a lesser gp value than you could've obtained. If you pick the best gp value option, sell the wares and then buy the items you wish to train with you come out with more of the training item than mtk would've given you. As it stands herbs give a 399% return, raw fish 212%, coal 197% (lowest coals gone in a while) and then maples at 188% (highest maples have gotten in many months).

Yup 10 herb 5 raw fish is the way to go right now; rswiki is pretty reliable for correct mtk setups.
  13. I don't think the combat formula is bad now, it just should change depending on what gear you wield imo eg keep the def + 2 + x base but change what x is (for pvp at least) Melee gear x = (att+str)/2 Mage gear x = mage lvl Ranged gear x = range lvl Hybrid gear x = (att+str+mage+range)/4 unless it is >20ish levels different from your best single class in which case tht is used - just to avoid the issue of say a ranged pure at 99 1 1 1 coming out at 126/127 since the 'cheat' of hiding ur true abilities by pureing is kinda a broken mechanic in terms of healthy pvp. Since these 'modes' would be best served by looking primarily at weapons could even make hybrid adaptive based on what weapons you have with you. So some hybridding 2 styles it could take out the other one to agan make the lvl shown more relivant to the abilities they will spew out. That way you actually have a rough idea of someones stats for the setup they are using, especially if they throw a little icon or a font colour in the mix to show it (green, orange and blue already exist after all for class crits)
  14. This would be grand and great if we lived in a world where people looking to pvp only went after people equal to them in order to have a good fight allowing lower geared and lower levelled and fighting chance of surviving/experience pvp with their equals. But alas we live in a world where Drygore Bob, Ascension Susan and Seismic Joe will go on a merry slaughtering spree repeatedly killing anyone and everything that crosses their path with no second thought of the fact they are weaker people with no chance of survival who don't offer a real in-depth pvp experience or that their hapless slaughtering spree can quite dramatically ruin the entire notion of pvp for these fledgling players who really need to stick with it in order for pvp to flourish once more, driving them away from ever touching pvp again. People will inevitably PJ people, and do 10v1. I have seen plenty of noobs PJ higher level players in this event. How is this any better than higher level players going on a killing spree? At least the higher level player owning others, sort of makes sense. All damage scaling does is give noobs a totally unwarranted advantage. Because low levels taking down a high level requires forethought and effort and tactics and a merit of skill and they know they may not make it. A high level mindlessly slaughtering low levels requires clicking then waiting for them to drop dead with no thought or skill invovled.

  16. F2p is capped at 14k a day 586k for all rewards from 1 side Makes for 41.8 days which is longer than the events total run time, let alone coming in on day 15. So no it is not really possible for you get all rewards at this point
  17. Yes other than xp there is no difference. But also note it is not remotely hard to find the correct segment to mine they way it is set up segments shift by 10% so in a theoretical line you have: 100% 90% 80% 70% 60% 50% 60% 70% 80% 90% 100% Since each line is only 8 segments long this means the absolutely highest the middle two segments can be is 90%* if the blockage is in that passage so the fastest way to find it when you get the chat box message is to run to the middle and check segment 4 or 5 in all 4 lanes. One of them will be 90% or less, check 1 north/south when you find that lane to see if it goes up or down and then you can run direct to the blockage. Eg if you find 70% in segment 4 of a lane then run to segment 5 and find 80% then you know the 50% is in segment 2 (as 3 will be 60%) If you find 70% in segment 4 and run to 5 and find 60% then the blockage is in segment 6. *Segment 4 would be 90% and segment 5 80% if it's in segment 8 and segment 5 would be 90% with segment 4 at 80% for segment 1
  18. Ice magic stopped him healing on launch, but they patched that early on It shouldn't do anything now when he decides to go heal. Totally didn't realise vamp scrim was only melee, elements would be the way to go if you strap on a scrim in that case.
  19. ^ So much this. My friend recently back to the game and not used to EoC was having trouble with this boss. I gave her that exact advise, loaned subjugation and got her to buy wand of treachery and grif orb with her limited funds. Throw on vampyre scrimshaw and either vamp or penance aura (preferably vamp) and you can use protect missle in place of soul split and survive just as easily with almost no food. Plus you can use the mage-turmoil too. I'd also advise going for blitz over barrage as once he summons rangers you wanna keep them alive and allow protect missle to let you ignore them; if you barrage you run the risk of killing them and letting him summon meleers or mages. Doesn't really make a huge difference to fight length but can make things a little bit easier if you are struggling. Getting in melee range isn't really an issue either - mage beats melee.
  20. It would seem as thought both may be less than original in the way they have been created, I would agree with Lioness it does not necessarily prove anything other than the pieces discovered have kinda copied sources. What does seem a bit more damning though is that the deviant account seems to have been deleted now: http://kayleegholson.deviantart.com/ So the work can only be found by search: http://www.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&global=1&q=kayleegholson&offset=0 I could understand making the account more private due to an influx of attention/hate but to outright delete it seems a bit fishy to me unless you really have been caught out doing something 'wrong' But again we can only really speculate since we do not have solid facts to go on here.
  21. They are quite rare but if you use the 'node find' fc they can usually help you get ~1-5 a day depending on luck. Sometimes it'll be dead for like 5 hours then you'll get a bunch close together, other times you get a pretty steady stream of 1 every 30 mins or so, but it is doable using them. I've been using it to see if I can get enough extra renown to allow me to end on Arma Dragon token; just short of gold atm cause I took a few days off.
  22. So pretty much cannon and ccb wherever possible (eg not ganos) ranged will 99 b4 slayer anyway then switch bk to using all 3 styles + cannon or maybe just drygore it all.
  23. Is it just me or is today's sudoku clue unfinishable? You can do enough to get the answers you need, but it seems impossible to actually finish the sudoku itself (without using trial and error guesses which sudoku should not require) I managed to get it to this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiiWNnszLqVydHVma2laZTRpb281ZllQMjFtODgxdlE&usp=sharing Can't for the life of me see anyway to get any further without using guesses.
  24. Can't afford ascensions, but got dual ccb already and as you may be able to tell by my sig I need to max both ranged and slayer yet. Would it be a huge detriment to slayer xp rates just using ccb on every task? Last i heard at t80 you ought to follow melee/mage/range at least for best rates.
  25. I think the biggest feedback they can take from this is: People enjoy safe pvp. People do not enjoy dangerous pvp. (Where people is defined as 'most players') For the foreseeable future I think the best way forward for pvp in runescape is trying to build something that ins engaging and reward but predominantly safe (as in perhaps there's a tax or fee or some sort to get in but its mostly safe - in my head something like 'totems' would work nice like to go in you have to have 1 totem per 10 cmb lvls and they cost say 1k-500k then dying makes you drop 1 totem for ur killer to grab then on exit totems can be turned bk to gp or traded in for rewards of some sort). Once you get people engaged again test the water with more unsafe stuff.
