Will that protect the data? I have xp. I thought I'd have to do a new install to repartition in windows.

Someone recommended partition magic to me but I see Norton doesnt offer it anymore. Is there anything else?

Here are two alternate teleports that I think are useful. Rimmington: Skills neck to crafting guild. You have to run down but it's not far. This is good for players like me who like to have their house in Yanille or elsewhere. Brimhaven: Karamja(3) gloves to Shilo and then cart (10gp) to Brim. This one is useful if your spirit tree is growing.

Without a doubt, this is the best farming guide I've ever read..and I've read lots. I love the skill. I'm just not all that efficient at training it for some reason..currently 88. Thank you for caring enough about this community to put together such a well thought out, comprehensive guide. I'd hit the 'you rock' button if there was one.

Installing Windows 7 beta//XP on a linux system?
frogact replied to frogact's topic in Tech and Computers
I finally gave up and took it to Fry's. The guy charged me 80 bucks and did a clean install of Windows XP Pro using my upgrade disk on a system that had only linux partitions. How did he do it? I wish I had read this post before I went to Fry's lol.. I might have saved myself some time and money. O well..at least now I have XP and I know linux will be able to resize the ntfs and create its own partitions. Stupid Microsoft. -
Pics of RSHD on my mothers acer aspire one
frogact replied to XxTearGodxX's topic in Tech and Computers
I looked at that acer today.. they are snappy little laptops, but it doesnt surprise me that RSHD lags on it. I think I'll probably get one, but i'd like to try other versions first, especially the Samsung n...something. I'd also like to get a look at a lenux version but can't seem to find a b&m place that carries one. :( -
Installing Windows 7 beta//XP on a linux system?
frogact replied to frogact's topic in Tech and Computers
Ubuntu would not allow me to create an NTFS partition using gparted. The selection was grayed out. It would let me make a FAT32. however, the win98 cd won't pick up the cd drivers . It aborts the install. I swear if I didn't have a work app that required winxp, I would burn everything microsoft that I own. RIGHT NOW. Because I am perfectly happy with Ubuntu. -
Installing Windows 7 beta//XP on a linux system?
frogact replied to frogact's topic in Tech and Computers
atm..i'm trying to do this with gparted. LOL i'll be back if it doesn't work. -
Is there an app that will support creating an NTFS partition from within linux? I have the Windows 7 disk which I burned but can't install it because it says I don't have an NTFS partion. Wouldn't that be created during a Windows install? :S The BIOS is also not detecting the HD even though I have linux installed and running fine. What I'm actually trying to do is install Windows XP pro from an upgrade disk onto a linux system. The windows 7 was my way of getting around the upgrade since I don't have windows running. Is there another way? What I want to end up with is a small partition for Windows XP pro for some work apps, and the rest, shared files and linux.

Overclocking is probably beyond the realm of my technical abilities...I think it means to make your computer go faster than it's supposed to? Since most of my apps are office related..I'm guessing I should be fine. Thanks again. Newegg luvs you guys.

Thanks, guys, you're the best. One last question..if I already bought a dual core processor, do you still recommend the after market cooler?
-
That's a good point about a budget..I honestly haven't even thought about it. TBH, I was at fry's today and I bought the mb and processor on a whim because I'm tired of messing with the one I have and trying to fix it. I'd guess about mid-range.. thanks for those suggestions. They help a lot. The guys at Fry's are getting tired of me. lol

So I just bought... ASUS p5qc // intel core 2 duo E8500 I need suggestions..for a case, video, sound.. I obviously don't need TOL, but I want reliability. Any suggestions??

I did open the case. All I could find on the board was phoenix bios in teeny letters. I will try that program. Thanks.

I really screwed up this time. I reformatted my hard drive before I pulled the documentation for the motherboard, and guess what. I can't find find it anywhere. so given the following..is this enough to find the drivers I need for the motherboard or am I gonna have to suck it up and buy a new one. It's old, but I wasn't quite ready to replace it yet. built May, 2004 processor AMD Phoenix Award BIOS v6.00PG cc 1984-2003 Phoenix Technologies Ltd chipset: nvidia nforce2 I think it is an asus but can't be 100% sure. am I SOOL? I am serching driverguide, atm, so maybe I'll get lucky. The driver sites that want to scan you computer are really getting on my nerves since I obviously can't get online with that computer. lol

When I built this computer I installed the old hard drive as a second drive because I was too lazy to back it it up. go figure. :S At that time the main drive was named F: Now I've disconnected that old c: drive, and my main drive is still named F: Can I change it to C: without reformatting? I tried through disk management, but Windows wouldn't have it. Is there a way around windows to do it? And will it cause headaches with other software? The reason I need to do it is because I got a job that is requiring that all the files on my hard drive be stored on a C: drive as proof that I only have one hard drive. So should I start looking for that windows cd? or is there another way? TIA ~jules

Yes, God is real. Faith is the belief in something unseen and is a gift from God Himself. There is nothing I could ever say that would convince you or anyone else that God is real. You believe what you chose to believe. the end

I voted Saturday for McCain who I consider to be the lesser of two evils. I've never felt so much tension in a voting line. It was very quiet.

MUST WATCH: UPDATE: Holland considers virtual theft a crime
frogact replied to Ts_Stormrage's topic in General Discussion
I don't believe stealing virtual items should be consider theft. the brats should have been punished for the beating but nothing more. And excuse me, but the author of the article tried to make this case by stating that stealing electricity is a crime and electricity is not tangible. Electricity most certainly is tangible. And if you don't believe that, go stick your finger in a light socket. :o The original owner of the car still owns the car. that has nothing to do with the thieves or the gas. The thieves are responsible for the theft of the car. The person who pumped the gas is responsible for the gas bill. It's not the stations problem where the gas went. If you pump it you pay. end Anyway, this analogy doesn't work as your talking about tangible goods. -
Sweet, Parliament must have approved that $3gazillion video game bailout package!

Login server down means if you are not already logged in you have to wait until it's fixed.

Because it's fun. In 7 years I've probably lost more pking than I've gained, so I must suck at it, but I do it because it's fun.

There are 4 or 5 mith ores with coal in the west lumby swamp mine. It's usually empty so you have plenty of coal to superheat. And I believe there are 2 addy there as well for when you get that high. It's a nice little mine and not that bad of a walkt o bank, especially if you use your glory for draynor and then run back. Or you can home port to lumby.

It doesn't promote laziness at all. It gives people more options for using their time in the most efficient way possible.

Fletching, Cooking, Firemaking: The Ultimate Race
frogact replied to Kietaro1's topic in General Discussion
A 5 hour per day max would be acceptable to me. On a side note, having just gotten 99 cooking on my main account a few hours ago, I actually agree with you and would expect to lose.
