  1. You have to admit though wbs did bring back pvp into the game, albeit not to the extent that it was in the pre eoc era. I enjoy crashing worlds and having small skirmishes with other clans than actually doing the warband minigame. Yeah. Then someone calls a mining world. And all of a sudden you're surrounded by whites and feeling sudden sympathy for Tom Robinson from TKaM.
  2. Well they certainly didn't want to leave people in any doubt that he's actually dead.
  3. You're asking why you have to spend so much time playing an mmo to get to the endgame. I said it's to retain the exclusivity of the endgame. Any way I put it, it will boil down to "that's just how mmos work, they take a lot of time", whether that time is required to make the endgame more appealing or to provide goals for midgame players. Not trying to be offensive, I just don't know how else to answer your question. The trouble is your stance is kinda from a dying breed of gamer in a game market not so fitting for it anymore. Runescape takes a heck of a lot of time to reach the endgame compared to the vast majority of mmos, even with all these things making it 'easier' and with the way they gaming market is playing with casual gamers more now and the way mmo success in general is moving it seems games were you reach the end-game and then have a bunch of stuff to do are more popular than those where you trudge through hours upon hours of the early and midgame just in the hopes of someday maybe reaching the end-game. That changing market climate does make it a very real issue of at what point does the idea of it being too easy and that just being how mmos just become an excuse to ignore the fact that runescape takes a heck of a lot of hours to get to the end game and in many ways that aspect of it is starting to place it outside of the market that is doing well due to sticking with an older model of gameplay for the sake of appeasing older players who dislike things changing ot be easier and brushing aside concerns with 'well thats an mmo for you' At what point do you face the issue that such a pre-game is potentially driving away lots of new players? At what point do you deal with the fact making the end-game so exclusive most average gamers simply can't ever hope to reach it also drives away players? Or do you just sit blindly in your castle and say well thats mmos right up until the point the entire game crumbles to dust around you due to such things making it lose its edge in the modern gaming market? This is incorrect however. If what you say is true, I doubt TES:O would have such a long way to go to get to the end game, never mind rewarding truly excessive grinding in a far more useful fashion than RS does. They've spent over $200M developing it, I expect their research on the behaviour of MMO players and what gets them hooked and keeps them playing is about as thorough as is possible.
  4. Remove all lamps and make it all bonus xp.
  5. Richard is a top pager, and he is the guy who runs around organizing everything for you. Even when we're playing another game he [bleep]s off to go and help organize warbands. In other words don't generalize.
  6. Merry Xmas! Am pretty inactive atm too :\
  7. I'd be fine with new tradable rares if they were introduced in a certain way. You can purchase them from a store for a set price of say 250m. You cannot sell them back to the store. They can then be resold to other players, presumably at a slightly lower price than the store price. This way the price is capped to a value within the bounds of reason, as well as acting as a cash sink. Over time the value would probably settle quite significantly below the store value, but that's OK.
  8. -img snip- PLEASE Why does it only let me like once :( First impressions: slayer monster nice, hopefully gets put in Kuradal's, world event sounds a little more well thought out than last time. Not sure if I'll get premier membership this year - I did last time, and there was a period of several months where I would not otherwise have been a member. Fool me once... We'll see.
  9. Warband chats already dominate the wilderness, and if useful resources/events are placed in the wildy which are actually worth doing, they will simply extend the monopoly. I know for a fact that the fc I'm part of at least would organize a way to do that activity with 100% security. It is no longer the case that putting skilling resources in the wildy encourages pvp.
  10. Real values exist on every item. The prices dont need to fix themselves, this update has had 0 impact on them - meaning the CS update, idk about any buffs or whatever.
  11. Ge price has been an irrelevant number for items worth more than a few million for a long time. The fact they got the ge price of the shards a little off is of no consequence.
  12. The new tutorial is so much better than the burthorpe/taverly one it isn't even a comparison. It's simple and short with nice audio/graphics. I like the guidance system for low level content too.
  13. ? Who said it couldn't be fun to do whatever you have to do for t99 gear.
  14. Level 99 gear shouldn't be purchasable. It should require far more time to earn than a max cash stack, however.
  15. Well, as long as players assume the owners of the game don't know what they're doing, it must be OK to do and have no repercussions right? owners?>.> i think u missed something mod balance and inifinity are new and dont understand at all what are they talking :) Or you know, Jagex, who DOES own the game (well I guess IVP in a sense now, but they aren't the ones who actually create anything). Just sick of all this arrogance among the player base thinking they "know better" than people who actually are part of the company who is making the rules. It's a rule for a reason, if you don't like it, suck it up and move on. If you really want to just assume that you know better, then continue breaking it and don't complain if/when you get banned for it. It's not arrogance. I do know better than these two particular jmods. That's nothing to be arrogant about, considering that they are new and are bound to make a few errors. It's understandable. On the other hand, they could be a little more cautious and not so provocative with their language when discussing things until they are a little more knowledgeable and confidant in their role.
  16. The experienced teams have done kills in full t70 gear for the hell of it, so it's certainly possible, only issue is how people with t70 gear only would get the experience required in the first place.
  17. I think it is clear that this JMod does not really know what he is talking about.
  18. Re-comp'd for the first time since div release. Really enjoyed birthright of the dwarves, my favourite quest in quite a while.
  19. I think people were being sarcastic just to point out exactly how he obtained those records without receiving various points and warnings ;)
