  1. Yes this thread again. So I'll be getting my first chaotic today (along with 80 attack) , and was was just wondering for my stats (in sig) which would be more useful I will be using it mostly for: Slayer and cannoning blue drags in the resource dungeon if the bot nuke works. I know the rapier is recommended for slayer, but I was unsure as I have relatively low stats so thought the extra accuracy from the longsword could come in handy.

I have the cash for it now, but I can make a lot off this triple slayer/bot nuke day, so I'm going to be waiting till after that. Merchanting is sooooo easily the fastest money making method I've ever seen.
  3. I recommend Duradel. You get higher numbers of things, and all your staples, dagganoths, mutated velds, black demons etc. I definitely levelled faster with him.
  4. @pal2002: I get virtually no lag at SW anymore in the obelisk area.
  5. Heavy risk, but the priiiiize... i.e. major PR fail versus no bots.
  6. Chrisso stated it will work for injection type bots as well as reflection, it was just a mistake in the article.
  7. Reflection: the bot client mirrors the RS client, changing visual information into code. Injection: the bot client hacks the RS client, obtaining the code directly. This update will get both types, only the sub AI client (only one exists I think) won't be stopped. PS check some well known bot site forums. Its a beautiful sight.
  8. Oooooh can't wait for triple slayer xp. Also triple zeal day will be good, and I haven't played castle wars for about five years so I reckon I'll give that a shot too. All in all, sounds pretty nice! And although its kind of sad Jagex didn't win; they honestly didn't deserve too, the free game this year has been absolutely awful. If this update works, I have no doubt Jagex will win again next year (if they hold off on fully fledged microtransactions until then). Also, don't all non ad bots run using the reflection method?
  9. Haha page 666 again. Does anyone know how Water trains cooking? Are wines f2p because hes had some pretty major cooking gains this week. Also, which skills should you crawler to 200m? I know slayer and runecrafting should be done that way, but is it best to do the same for agility as well?
  10. There are in essence two kinds of bots: the gold farmers and the people who bot their accounts to raise skills, and whilst removing free trade/wilderness would remove the former, there would still be the problem of the best training spots being overwhelmed. These kind of bots are the worst, as they often bot on their main accounts, meaning they have access to all the content that requires high level skills/quests. As A13D pointed out somewhere, there are bots with over 170 million hunter experience - and Jagex keeps 'close tabs' on high levelled players hmm? Removing free trade/wilderness will temporarily alleviate the problem, nothing more. And if you think people couldn't rwt without free trade/wilderness, for sure most gold selling sites weren't as active, but there are other sites where people have recorded videos of trades selling over fifty thousand dollars of Runescape gold during restricted trade, with the guys account name showing and yet he wasn't banned. This guy now owns the biggest dicing clan in Runescape (not Winallday before people ask) and freely advertises on another forum site (Im sure you know which one) that since free trade he has handled over seven hundred thousand dollars of RSGP - and yet he isn't banned. It really is sickening how Jagex just lets this guy get away with it.
  11. No need to hate on Gemeos, there's loads of people with relatively low experience who are aiming high. He seems commited enough.
  12. Found the interview with Elias very interesting. The other two were both well-written, but just not as interesting to me. And whoever organises these interviews, I'd personally like to see an interview with Drumgun, he does post here fairly regularly, so it might not be too hard to arrange.
  13. A13D you know what job he does? I'm always curious about what the top players do post RS. (Or during RS)
  14. Yeah it happened actually inside a dungeon yesterday. Was both very annoying and amusing, we were reduced to using emotes at doors to try and tell people they were denk :P
  15. Who even are you... Seriously though, it would be awesome to get 4B by the end of the year. Weird too, if 3B xp and 4B xp both happen in 2011. Keep up the good work!
  16. He said in his interview that he has bought construction, prayer (already achieved) and herblore, which he is doing now, with around the 1B mark for cash left, so he'll need some cash for Crafting still I'd assume, and I don't know whether or not he has farming banked. Plus he'll need a fair bit for crawling to 200m runecrafting. Edit: too many "I'd assume's"

I had a bank pin, my security questions were five strings of numbers and letters, I don't know what I could have done to make it more secure. I use only the RS Official Client, as I think it runs faster than the website. So i have changed my pin and my security questions, and am using a totally different machine now as I got a new laptop for Uni anyways. Also, on average it would take a brute force program being run from a top end desktop 408 thousand years to crack a password of the same length with varied caps/numbers like mine. Again, i highly doubt I received a keylogger, but I am using a new laptop anways now. The only things related to RS I ever downloaded was the RS client from the RS website. And Tipit is the only other RS related thing I go on. It turns out that due to my Uni's firewall I couldn't have gotten any of these things anyway, which means it must have been someone actually recovering my account rather than hacking it. All it took to recover my pure was a single previous password, no other information that I could remember, so I suspect the same thing could have happened here - as though my password is very secure now, I have had easy to guess passwords in the past, as many people probably have. On a side note, I started merching an item a top player accidently included in a video (the bought x/y message popped up in his chatbox :P ) and have now paid my mate back and am well on the way to having my mask back as well. So its not all bad!
  18. Agen, I didnt know my email I used for this account either, just go to Account Problem at the top and put as much info as you can remember in the other details box, as well as your new e-mail. Worked for me.
  19. First Zarfot now Elias... He's in Tezz fc atm along with Buyableking actually o.O
  20. Wow, gratz on first to 139 combat Drumgun!
  21. I think you should keep doing the updates until Langer returns, but put them in spoilers. I'd prefer someone who knows what they're talking about to do them than some randomer. And here's to Langer's swift return :[
  22. Congratulations Drumgun! 200m alll combats...just wow. If Jagex rasied caps to 120, you' be max combat immediately. Kinda cool eh?
  23. I agree there actually S U O M I. When you consider the proportion of slow xp S U O M I has, the fact that he is rank 1 is somewhat mind-boggling, let alone having such a large lead. Also looking forward to Drumgun maxing all combat experience. Keep going!

I ran Malwarebytes, not that other one. Update: Thanks to a friend's generosity, I have re-acquired my gear, minus the mask. I have stopped using my laptop for now, going to get a knowledgeable buddy to check it out before I touch it again.

So yesterday, after months of saving, I had enough cash to get my first rare - a blue h'ween mask. I was extremely excited, and spent a large portion of the day walking around and showing it off. So this morning, I log onto RS, and as soon as I do so, I get a message from someone I have never met before saying "are you still selling blue mask?". This immediately sets alarm bells ringing. I always bank my invent and worn equipment before logging, just in case. I go to check my bank and...almost all valuables are gone. Bandos, fury, zerker ring, d pick, and most importantly, and sadly - my coveted mask. All I had left was a couple of Barrows sets and a d hatchet further up in my bank which the hacker appeared not to have noticed/wasn't worth their time. I am extremely pissed off. I have spent at least 6 months working towards this goal, and to have it all taken away over night is extremely disheartening. Yes I had a bank pin, and security questions. What is seriously worrying me now though, is that my password was a rather long string of numbers and letters - in other words impossible to guess. Neither is it written down anywhere. I have Norton 360 (latest version) and this has turned up no threats. After running a full system scan - still clean. I then purchased another, more expensive security software, which also ran a full system scan which turned up clean. I have had to ring my bank and disable internet banking - which is extremely inconvenient - all because this piece of scum wants some free e gp's. Though I am not quitting runescape as such, the thought of all those wasted hours makes me sick - I have absolutely nothing to show for it. Hell, I could have learnt a language in that amount of time. I look back on the hours I have spent working towards this, and I think to myself, why? How has this bettered my life at all? Sure it was fun to begin with, but due to the limits of a browser based game or Jagex's incompetence, Runescape is a highly repetitive and often boring game. I did not particularly enjoy 80% of the time spent working towards my mask - I did it because I thought to myself that it would be worth it once I had achieved my goal. And it was - for 24 hours. At the moment, even logging on makes me feel extremely angry with whoever did this. I may play Runescape more casually in the future, but I certainly won't play as much as I used to - what if I spend another six months working for something, only for it to be taken away by some jackass? What if the idiot actually changes the password this time (lol) and keeps the account? This is the problem with e achievements - they are by nature not physical posessions, and the majority of humanity couldn't give a [cabbage] about them. Which means there is very limited - if any - liability for their theft. Though Jagex has only limited responsibility for this - the scum of society are there for a reason after all - I honestly think the recovery process needs to be changed. Even with incredibly secure passwords now, due to the way recovery works, so long as you have had an easy to guess password at some point in your RS career, your account can be recovered with relative ease. Overall, this experience has soured Runescape for me - I took every precaution, but still lost my account. Why should I bother again? TLDR: (courtesy of Jeremy) - got hacked, lost about 250-270m bank, feeling pissed off. Jagex needs to improve recovery system.
