Will the increased respawn rates remain forever?
Fallstar replied to Leaf's topic in Help and Advice
Now that Jagex have closed some worlds down, hopefully the new respawn rates can stay indefinitely. -
He's pretty much the most famous PVMer out there, and I'd prefer him to be doing it by far than whoever is currently at the top of the dominion tower boards (dark lust?) . And yes he safespotted Nex (safespots? in Runescape? get out!) but that doesn't change the fact he is one of very few players to 'legitimately' duo Nex, solo the Corporeal Beast, and kill Jad with a single prayer point. In fact, he was the first to solo the Corporeal Beast. I would have thought that Jagex would have left out the Nex thing though, seeing as they made a big fuss about it being un-soloable. Oh well.

Wow, I always thought crafting would have been higher than wines. Hmm. Also, did some pyrelord firemaking earlier to get 99, and noticed the first log in each set gave 329xp but the second only gave 319? Any ideas why?

Me too. Just quest tab here, and also more recently, when teleporting back from a random event, I'll get up to a 20 second lag. All other teleports are fine, but its still kind of annoying.

Congratulations Suomi. Keep it up ;]]

What tezz gets up to when bored. http://gyazo.com/40b8fd0d23297cc568206decb1c3637d And gratz on 3.5B xp Suomi.

That last 100xp must be so tempting to get.

There are effectively 3 definitions of efficiency: 1. Training via the method which gives the most xp/hr irrelevant of cost, and concentrating enough to obtain the maximum xp/hr for that method. 2. Training via the method which gives the most xp/hr within a resource imposed limit, such that based on your current money making capabilities, making the money to use a higher xp/hr method and then using that method, would take longer than training using the method within your current financial limits. Whilst concentrating hard enough to obtain the maximum xp/hr for that method. 3. Training via any method so long as you obtain the maximum xp/hr for that method. This is based on the assumption that your goal in Runescape is to earn experience a 'skiller' type - obviously a hardcore PVM/PVP player might view efficiency as maximising the number of kills/hr, or the profit per hour. Focusing solely on the experience driven player, I think definition 2 is the most accurate. You can plug numbers into this equation to check whether you should earn money and train @ a higher rate or continue with your current best method within your resources: g.Tm+Tn < T(n-1) If this inequality is true when you plug the numbers in, you should make the money+use a more efficient method. If the inequality is false, you should continue with your current best method. where g is the gp/hr from your money making method, Tm is the time spent making money in order to use the next highest xp/hr method, Tn is the time spent training using the more efficient method, and T(n-1) is the time spent training using the current best method for your resources. Tn and T(n-1) are obviously equal to the amount of experience you want to gain divided by the xp/hr of the respective method. The '.' represents a product or multiplication, I'm using it because x would look confusing, if you didn't know. Assuming you concentrate hard enough to maintain the highest xp/hr for that method, this inequality is the practical definition of efficiency in RS.

Apparently that was possible via some trick involving a quest reward or something.

Why is Lethe Keres name familiar? And yeah, good update A13D.

200m in any skill is a significant achievement, so congratulations. Also, liking the vids Suomi, keep em coming. (Come back when you've got 150m slayer xp and 2b total xp in a year...gf that dude)

Whilst I partially agree with the first article regarding how people are often douches whilst dungeoneering (everyone gets a bit uptight after their fourth large floor in a row or whatever), in general when people post OK, I've got x resources to train a skill to level y, so I can't do method z, in the majority of cases it is more efficient and will require less time on their part to earn enough resources to do method z. For example, chinning range versus using throwing knives - making the money to chin, then chinning to the desired level, takes less time than just using throwing knives to get to the desired level. But some people seem incapable of seeing this kind of logic.

About the donation - turns out the guy was trolling, although he did give some randomer in Tezz's fc a red phat, so maybe Tezz just wants more $. And Tezz has been getting some smaller donations quite consistently recently, purely because he has an open fc. Hint Hint Drumgun/whoever else might want donations. Basically: some gen ranked guy came into Tezz's fc, convinced us all he gave Tezz a 20B donation, Tezz was on IRC so didn't see, we took it as legit due to him giving some lucky guy a red party hat, but it turns out it wasn't legit.

Having seen a couple of the videos from Runefest, I have to say I'm looking forward to the dominion tower the most. According the the Behind the Scenes, the next 'best in slot' glove item will be obtained there, and I enjoy fighting quest bosses, so should be fun. In other news, Tezz got a 20B donation. So post fletch I think he'll be moving onto more buyables.

In other details, make sure to put your bank pin, along with details of every payment method you've ever uses; so for me I put "previously paid using Debit cards ending in xxxx, yyyy and zzzz" as well as through surpin on mobile numbers X and Y. Paymeny details are without question the most important factor, the more you can supply the better. After a couple of recovery attemps, answers to security questions and previous passwords become nearly irrelevant becuase Jagex know that both parties know the information. Also make sure you detail from where you moved and where to, as well as detailing if possible the post code from which you made each membership payment alongisde the transaction ID for that payment and how you payed. If you kept all the confirmation emails as you are recommended to, this will guarantee a successful recovery.

Haha nice A13D. As an aside, did anyone else take place in the mass zombie invasion? Was absolutely epic, starting south of the ge, small groups of zombies spawned leading to Falador, where they spawned in groups of 50 or more alongisde level 350 Jogres. It was epic, Ive got part of it on video.

21-Oct-2011 - Bot-Busting and Bonuses For All
Fallstar replied to Octarine's topic in General Discussion
The runescape website loads fine, but I cant log on on the officail client, I assume I was in one of the worlds that crashed. -
Yeah I went with rapier. Bandos doesnt even come into it for a long time with my combat stats, so the rapier's superiority with slayer was the key point for me. Thanks for the help people.
-
Wasn't there a big hooha because Lan botted for a little bit? Or am I thinking of someone else...
-
So whats the method for getting 140k/hr at arctic pines? I assume thats the rate at 99 already. And I already have mouse keys set up, so thats not a problem.
-
Haviing been in your situation in regards to Dungeoneering a few days ago, I suggest you pick the chaotic rapier when you get it. I have tested it out in the Blue Dragon Resource Dungeon on a German server, and it is brilliant. I also plan on putting it to good use slaying tomorrow. Anyways, at 71 dung, you can access floor 36. The fastest way to train @ that level is to rush f1-29, then do f30-max Large 5:5 C6 in a group. If you really cant stand group dging, then might I suggest going to W148 and using the 'wesellfloors' fc to buy your large floors; you don't have to do anything, just sit in base, and they usually key sub 20 minute larges opening every door. This would be very expensive however, looking at 2m for an abandoned floor and 2.3 for an occult. If you can't buy floors, and dont want to do group dg on 117 (who would...) then solo rush f1-24 maybe, then solo or duo medium floors from there to your max floor. It'll take quite a while this way though, I went 60-81 dung in two and a half days with the guys from wesellfloors.
-
Yeah I was just trying to get into a fc, keep getting the message "Error joining friends chat channel - please try again later!"
-
Well after tomorrow, I plan on obtaining my first 99, Woodcutting. Now whilst Ivy is 'good' experience, I have heard that either Teaks or splitting Arctic Pines can be faster, can someone confirm this, post an approximate experience rate for each method, as well as describe how to optimally use that method? I plan on doing the more 'intensive' method, then switching to Ivy for a while to relax a little. Thanks in advance.

If they ran server maintenance, everyone playing on that server would be logged out for a fairly significant period of time, and you would be unable to access the worlds hosted on that server for a couple of hours. This happens only very rarely. Personally I think we'll see a lot of volatility in the markets tomorrow/today now I guess, followed by a crash on wednesday. I made sure to stock up on slayer things as soon as the announcement was made, and I plan on getting some cheap herblore supplies when/if the crash happens as well.

Very interesting, especially the one with Peter. The one about techniques employed by people arguing over the internet was also very well written.
