  1. Well i suppose swifts are best on low defense creatures where the additional damage potential outweighs the greatly increased accuracy. Certainly for any place a high level would use range (Arma/Nex/Kiln) You'd value the accuracy more. I'm not sure i believe gloves beat acp at frosts. The cannons accuracy is based on yours so it would doubly screw you in terms of accuracy. The additional Damage from gloves is only like 5% seeing as it activates ~1/20. Frost dragons don't have high defense, but i think it's high enough to make ACP the winner here.
  2. Slayer is awful charms, just FYI. Worse than half of what you get camping waterfiends. So, camp waterfiends. They drop very frequent crimson charms, which are the 2nd best just behind the much rarer blue charms. High level Glacors might be better overall charms but you're far from being able to kill them.
  3. But thats exactly what duneoneering is, a minigame with the title "skill" tacked on to it. It in no way is a "skill", especially considering you use every skill but dungeoneering in clearing the dungeons Dungeoneering is one of the few that actually requires skill, though. Oh wow nice cape, 40000 logs right? You added 40000 logs to a bonfire? Dude you're so skillful. Minigames are fun. Runescape is a game. Whats to hate about dungeoneering being fun?
  4. ok kool thanks :) thanks for the info. with the ~+25 range bonus u mean with acp or with swift gloves? whats the better alternative anyways? I mean with ACP. ACP is much better for pvm and in general overall training, but swifts are best for PVP as you want that double bolt for the KO power.
  5. Which is why I wrote this list. I'm of the opinion that the Squeal would work better if the rewards were useful, but not so much that you don't need to actually play the game. Something like those gloves from Fist of Guthix provide an experience bonus, but players still have to train the skill to get it (Though Runespan has invalidated that example). Now that I think about it, something like brawling gloves could be more interesting than lamps as well. Longer lasting/more effective ones could be rarer rewards. If they ever bring in an actual microtransaction shop instead of this silly attempt at one (Though I really hope they don't), that's the kind of thing that they could put in it and have it still be sort of fair. A lot of games just give a multiplier to your overall xp for a certain period of time, and i agree that while awful, it's the best of a bad situation. Again I'll state that the current rewards don't need to be nerfed, (Unless you think free ~5kxp/day average is bad) the only downside is that some players choose to buy several 100.
  6. Ermmm. Whats all this about getting fights in SoA? People have done nothing but run from SoA since day 2 when they realized how overpowered it was. It's still absolutely devastating for PJing and even rushing when mixed with claws, but don't expect to consistently get people foolish enough to fight you this late after release. (Unless you do stupid stuff like no arm to encourage them, but then you just destroy your advantage...) No one has mentioned 92 summoning for wolptinger... That's extremely important. (Constant +10 minimum/max damage, +6% additional damage over magic potion.)
  7. Train dungeoneering. I know it doesn't involve the cash, but it's fun and useful. People typically only complain about dungeoneering because it's too engaging and they're not used to actually playing runescape, they were expecting to click a dungeon door and wait 30 seconds while they got xp. (This is too much like a minigame! I'm actually having to do things and use my brain!) So it seems ideal to cure boredom of the game, especially if you can get some friends to do it with.
  8. It took me way less than an hour to get the 1250 rank for unlocking deflectors, paying a noob to die to me. (starting at 1000 of course) Deflector is definitely worth having by the way. Not only is it super useful for range, allowing you ~+25 range bonus over gloves, it also gives the best max hit with most 1 handed melee weapons.
  9. Yeah the only problem is that players can buy them. The actual spins are a fairly nice daily. Reducing the xp from them just means that those willing to throw money at the game have to throw more money for the same effect. Let's not kid ourselves though, jagex have quite literally created a money printer, they're not taking that away.
  10. I'd argue it's a good incentive for these completionist players to still feel like they have something to do in the game. But i do think the tasks should only be for the trimmed completionist cape, meaning you don't have to do them to feel like you have truly completed the game. (I know many players that stop at regular comp mostly for 1 single task, the 5k cwars games, which is a really bad move on jagex's part imo) The tasks should never get anywhere close to the 5k castle wars games in length, they're actually largely intended to take away the grinding feel of the game, with the rewards often furthering this.
  11. I suggest an achievement list for runescape, ranging from beginner to the elite. It's very much the same as runescapes current task system, just with bigger tasks and much better rewards. A few examples of tasks and rewards: Lava! Kill Jad for the 5th time. You now start the fight caves on wave 32. Chicken slayer. Kill 1000 chickens. Feather drops from chickens now doubled. Stop global warming. Save 1000 coal by making bars in the blast furnace. Each coal you use now has a 10% chance of not being used whenever you create a bar. There could also be more gimmicky ones such as: Overpowered. Kill QBD with bronze dagger (100% damage must be from dagger). You are awarded "Jagex bronze dagger", normal stats but looks noticeably different. Party Pete! Use the dance emote in front of every "Pete" in the game. New dance emote taught during a cut-scene with all the Petes. Fire + Fox = ??? Attack a fox creature with any fire spell. Cut-scene triggers and you get your own firefox pet. (Promotional thing, can work with any brand. The player will "earn" the right to see an advert, surprisingly effective.) I just think the current task system isn't very interesting and the rewards are not very appealing, these "big tasks" would give bored players something to do, and the rewards will give focused players an incentive to experience other parts of the game. Remember not to criticize me for the examples i gave, the point of this thread is to promote the idea of "big tasks" or "Achievements", I'm sure jagex/the community can come up with some much more awesome ones. Note: When i say rewards are not good i am referring to the none area based tasks. The area based ones are great and I'm going for a similar thing here, only more specific tasks and rewards related to the task.
  12. Trio is 2m/hour. Not sure about larger teams but i think it only gets worse. I definitely would not recommend corp to someone that needs to make money fast. You can go for a long time without a sigil, breaking even or even making a loss on supplies. And even when you factor the sigil in, it's still well below the GP/Hour that other things are. A short list of easy accessible better GP/Hour as well as more consistent streams of cash include: Frost drags with yak Bandos Nex Fight kiln without titan (Even better with) Glacors I'm sure there are many many more.
  13. Pretty sure she means on the actual boss, if you're using it on KC you've already lost the ability to use a BoB once you get to boss, and at that point you might as well use it over uni. Either way, arma sucks balls so I'm not too concerned. :P I've noticed no one ever uses titan on nex... Why is that? Not sure, as I don't Nex; but from what I've seen from videos, I guess Nex DPS is high enough that you need constant healing in order to get a decent number of kills for it to be profitable.* *If I am hilarious and utterly wrong please correct me. Yeah I'd assume uni is more useful... But I've NEVER seen titan at nex, i mean I've seen titan at bandos and corp before, people just do stuff like that for the fun of it. In fact, if you could manage just 1 kill with titan, it probably would be better, as you bank so fast theres little benefit to camping multiple kills... So i assume nex is invulnerable to familiar damage or something?
  14. 62m/1200 kills, assuming the chance of getting any boot is 1/400 as i hear. That's 51k a kill. Shard is 1/10 kills. Shard worth roughly 120k. That's 12k a kill. Average none shard drop is about 10k. Total of 73k a kill using those very rough estimates, note that shards and possibly boots may rise soon, as the weekend really crashed them. You can definitely improve that KPH without titan. Mine isn't too good myself so I'll let someone else go into depth on this one. :D Unicorn is not needed at all once you learn to soulsplit flick effectively. That said, you definitely want summoning up for wolptinger, iron titan and steel titan. I sometimes use uni when I'm watching TV or something, so i can relax a lot more. But if you're actually playing the game like you should, it's not needed. :P

  16. Yeah, with onyx crashing so hard recently i figured kiln wasn't going to be best by the time i get 99, but it seems to still be quite good, and it's obviously never going to be truly terrible, unless a new gem with better stats is released (not out of the question) Arma is interesting, but i totally see what you mean. Slow kills with no real danger of death vs something weak to range, seems perfect... But i fear it's still too slow to be practical besides doing for the fun of it.
  17. That's true... I don't have any reason to currently train slayer but if they make it useful to have it should certainly come in handy.
  18. I'm basically looking for something that vastly improves once you have these summoning creatures. I have charms for 95 summoning at the moment and my main reason to use them is to unlock iron titan so i can kill waterfiends faster, and thus get 99 summoning faster. Main reason for yak is that it's just a general improvement over tort for all of runescape, especially important for bossing, also useful for frost dragons. (I'd like a list of things that become much better to camp when you have yak banking, not limited to combat or money making, although these are welcome too.) Steel titan is for Waterfiends/Glacors/TDs/Revs/Multi pvp such as SW... This is the main one I'm struggling to find a use for, i don't really care about any of these as the main reason i do the first 3 are for charms which become meaningless by the time i have it, and the latter 2 are just for fun and will be done very rarely if ever anyway.
  19. Once you're maxed, you will fight other maxed players in the wilderness and it will be fair. In fact, there are probably more maxed pkers than there are in any other combat range so finding good fights will be easiest. But say you get 71 attack 71 strength 71 defense, you will suck in the wilderness and will be absolutely destroyed by people that build their account for pking. (60 attack 99 strength 40 defense) So you will have to really avoid the wilderness until you're near maxed. Interestingly, the optimal way to train is NOT balanced stats anyway. You generally want high strength, medium attack, low defense for the best training. So if you really want to pk and don't have the patience to max your account, you can just train in the way a PKer would. Although assuming it's your first account and you have little cash, you can't buy things such as turmoil to give you the huge advantage in the wilderness other PKers will have, until you're a higher level or make cash in another way.
  20. The 10% health boost from fires effects the dharoks damage. You essentially have a constant 10% more damage. So in theory it should be close to 1270, at 1 hp. Curious how you got 622 rapier though when i got 605, did you use vestas + str ammy + dfs or something? I just used practical gear... Derp you used void of course. I'm a dummy. I believe the pic I saw was at 50 LP Just FYI all hits above the normal max without the dharoks set effect are orange, so a 700 would be orange just like a 1197, it's not a good indication of the true max. Although it seems pretty close at 50hp.

  22. Eh. You're right. It's basically a worse dharoks axe. Edit: Oooh. Checked if 10% hp boost dharoks beats rapier, seeing as theres 0 overkill and low defense after potentially several BGS specs Rapier max = 605 Dharoks max = 1200+ @ ~50hp Dharoks hits 4 for every 7 rapier Rapier = 4235 Dharoks = 4800+ Well I'll be damned. Obviously rapier has the accuracy advantage but sentiels have low defense, and spec restore BGS will only lower it further.
  23. Corp is a very luck based boss. You can go for several days of camping it making a small profit, and then suddenly you get a divine sigil and it's all worth it. Theres not enough data for an accurate drop rate estimate, but using the figures i see most commonly (divine and ely are both 1/2000 each. Arcane and spectral are 1/1000 each), and including the small drops such as cannonballs, you come to about 500k profit potential per corp beast. Now you can check A). Your cost per corp, IE how much you spend on supplies, and B). How many corps you kill per hour and finally C). The fraction of the total loot you get, 5 man obviously being 1/5, or 100k per corp beast. Using this information you can determine the most profitable way to kill corp, by using the smallest team possible without increasing the cost or decreasing kill speed too much. 3-4 man with sharks is generally the best option in my experience, regardless of how nooby people generally seem to think using sharks is. Also keep in mind all the awesome blue charms you shall be getting. The smallest team to fastest kill speed ratio = more charms for you. :) Aaalllsssoooo.. Keep in mind it's double loot weekend and i don't believe corp is effected, so your time would be better spent at another boss such as bandos/nex/glacors for the weekend.
  24. Someone recommended i try it out for the xp (You can let one of them constantly heal while taking advantage of the 175% normal damage Balmung should deal) but i couldn't seem to hit well over 500 in a short test wearing max strength + extremes + turmoil... It seems odd that they would nerf Balmung there, but still make them give normal xp, making them still a great place to afk with rapier/whip/dharoks.
  25. Do you mean the whole area freezes graphically, including other players? Or just your character won't respond to clicks while everything around you runs normally? If it's former, it's a graphical problem. If it's the latter, it's a connection problem. (You don't have low ping despite what it told you) I recommend trying other worlds that are also in or near your country, see if they're any better.
