  1. And Kimberly, while baseless drivel like "GOD IS TRUE BECAUSE HE'S IN MY HEART" is useless, intelligent discussion using logic, facts and reason can be eye opening and is the only way we'll ever find out. Assuming he doesn't come down and say hello, that is.
  2. Staff is generally better as many players don't have the patience to collect 100 shards before selling them as runes, making runes more convenient and thus increasing the supply. This won't be true forever though, as there will be too many staves in the game as more are created, with almost 0 leaving the game, which greatly decreases the demand, while runes will be used and need to be replaced forever with a constant demand. (Which will go up or down depending on the relative usefulness of the spell, to other alternative, of course.) Basic economics is fun!
  3. Why? What makes it logical to you that existence should be older than x hundred billion years? It just doesn't make any sense to think that the age of the universe changes anything. Especially with our inability to even grasp that length of time. I never said it changed anything; you said to you a god would have to have created the universe to class as a god and that this was 'technically impossible'. I was simply following this through to the point that we know the universe has a point at which it began and therefore (based on cause and effect principle) logically some unknown factor caused the universe to be created. Whilst it certainly may be beyond our scientific grasp to create a universe it did in fact happen and our science knowledge logically dictates that something must of caused it, whatever that something may be. Oh i see. This doesn't mean that something created the universe though. The universe just creating itself is more likely as it doesn't rely on something existing before it to create it, which is just backstepping into the exact same question of "what created that?" I am not saying that's what happened, again, we can't possibly know. But using pure logic, it's more logical.

  5. [hide] To qualify as god you have to be impossible, which is impossible. A few examples. God created the universe from nothing. You can't create energy, impossible. (How did it get here? I don't know. Yet.) God is omnipotent. Which of course is impossible and there are several paradoxes at the very simplest level. Basically, any feature that makes God a god breaks several laws of physics. And if a "god" exists that doesn't have these features, he's not a god. The trouble here is: None of those are REQUIRED to be a god. Most are entirely untrue of pagan, greek, roman and norse gods. They are just qualities given to certain gods of major religions that can be used as flaws for why they can't be true. I see the main qualifier to be god is to create the universe. Anything that doesn't do that, but for example, can lift trucks with it's little finger, isn't "god" in my eyes, and isn't what I'm saying is technically impossible with our current knowledge. Well we know SOMETHING had to create the universe from nothing, we just do not know what as we are unable to determine any way to actually create matter (opposed to just converting it from one type to another). Why do you jump to their being something to create the universe. That is 1 step MORE complex than the universe simply existing and brings the question "but what created god, and what created the thing that created god?". We don't "know" something created the universe. [/hide] Yep. Vastly underestimating how many things can possibly happen. Add a few billion 0's to yours and you might get close to the smallest measurable fraction of how many things could have possibly happened in the time i typed this post. Just kidding. Not even close. I'm not sure you understand what I'm trying to say. Life as we know it relied on a TINY chance of a self replicated organism existing. After that, life had to hope this organism lived long enough to replicate itself enough times for it's kin to replicate and eventually make survival almost inevitable. Again, a TINY chance. But after that, we have life. Life no longer relies on any tiny chances, it's here, and unless mass genocide happens and wipes out all life, it's here to stay. That's just on earth by the way. We're not talking about the other octillion similar planets.

  7. That doesn't even make sense. Things are complex because of systems that have created themselves. How did these systems come to be? Random chance mixed with them being complex enough to self replicate and survive. It's called evolution. Besides, the world is far from perfect, which you'd assume an omniscient being would be able to create. To say anything is too complex to have been created by chance is to VASTLY underestimate how many things that could possibly happen by chance.

  9. Very valuable advice that i try to follow. I'll log on runescape to train, or to have fun, when i want to have fun i usually do some PVM and make cash. It could technically be less than the most efficient way to make cash, but it's really that, or not logging in at all. That said, i don't think cash is going to be an issue, I'll have more than enough from PVM before i get anywhere near maxing the unbuyables. I also flip, which gives slow consistent cash. I was thinking about using effigies on agility instead of slayer, but I'm not really sure what the xp rates are. I've been treating slayer as a buyable, planning to skip all slow tasks and cannon/soa everything else.
  10. I'm technically an agnostic, although i hate calling myself that without explanation because people automatically lump you with the "herpderp its 50/50" people that put literally no thought into anything they say. I believe god could possibly exist, but for him to exist everything we know about the universe must be completely wrong. This is technically possible, but it's less likely than getting 1000000 divine sigils in a row, or the planet to be invested with flying pigs that by some *cough* miracle, humans haven't happened to stumble upon by pure chance despite sharing the same land and there being billions of them. To say "their is no god" is just as arrogant as "this is a god" in my eyes, as there is absolutely no way you could tell for sure. But it's forgivable, because despite the (lack of) evidence being in atheism's favour, theres also no way to know for sure literally anything using the same evaluation. "I just saw Dale" How do you know for 100% certain that wasn't someone else in the best Dale disguise possible? How do you know aliens didn't transmit data straight into your head to make you think you saw Dale? There are billions of unlikely possibilities for everything that we sensibly ignore because of their unlikeliness, god's existence should be one of them. I usually just say atheist... I think you can understand why.
  11. I've been thinking about livid as i could use all the xp it will give and the spells could possibly have some use, but again don't really want to spend much cash at the moment. I've pretty much done all the quests that give me something notably useful, the rest will come very slowly whenever i feel like questing. I doubt I'll do many herb runs at all. I absolutely despise all the travel and I'm the type of person that can't stop whatever I'm doing, do the run, then get back into it. Will probably start planting trees once every blue moon, though. I'm gonna go look up the entire list for comp cape to see if there are any i should get before 99s/will be fun.
  12. Well my end goal in runescape is comp cape, but at the moment I really can't decide what i want to do. I have ~180m bank but still want to increase it a lot more for ideal pvm gear and to merch with while i train. I can temporarily blow most of it on items such as dragon pickaxe to help increase speed of course. So can someone choose a skill/task to do that will be or near the optimal speed of achieving said skill/task while still making a profit/breaking even. (Mining conc gold, for example, but I'm not gonna mine yet as I'm relying on citadel xp for 80.) Stats are in sig.
  13. Tried alching mine too, lol. How much did you get for it? I'm assuming 0? (If they bring BH back it will probably be useful for tricking people into thinking you're risking bank. If.)
  14. I'd be surprised if 10% of people that logged in didn't just spin to get fast xp/get rid of the annoying persistent interface. What i was suspicious of was that 90% of players even log in every day and play runescape, SoF be damned. Completely fabricated statistic, either way. If someone offered you a free video game on the street, or 100s of video games for a price, are you really supporting his right to sell those games by taking the free one?
  15. *Sells claws* *Buys 5000 dmaces* I'd like to see you do that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-C_HbeJ51Y My pleasure!

  17. "People are using the free advantage in the game everyone else has access to so they must all enjoy the free advantage and support the ability to buy more of the advantage in the game." Jagex have used some pretty backwards logic in the past but this is just ridiculous. I'm also pretty sure nowhere NEAR 70% of F2P accounts log in daily, what with most veteran players having 10+ that they never use/forgot about, and the millions that have quit. P2P is possible but also unlikely.
  18. So I've started attacking the enduring as i lure, and while it's only like 2 hits, it does improve the killspeed by a bit :P I guuesssssss i can use SoL but i like to watch videos and stuff while glacoring so as little effort and concentration as possible is best, which is the reason i don't rapier. I'll get 95 summoning very soon. When i do, what should i do for killing minions? I always make wolp attack sapping as it can't seem to hit enduring at all, i assume (hope) titan can hit?
  19. "BUY OUR BLOODY SPINS" WEEKEND! They just seem more and more desperate with every update, it's really starting to depress me. I'm just glad they didn't put huge xp lamps/10m into the uncommon, i guess.
  20. I don't know what the alternative to luring is. You need to get the enduring far from the glacor so you run that distance anyway? I wasted 8 seconds luring the first kill, and my familiar was damaging sapping while doing so... I'd like to improve this but i don't really understand what you want me to do. Attack enduring for attention, run away while attacking sapping, kill enduring? Isn't SoA highly inefficient, money wise? I'll give rapier and overloads another shot, which makes wolp useless, and i don't have any good damage familiars (92 summ). I'll of course use SoL with rapier, i only didn't in the video because it's 2% more magic damage than poly and it doesn't really seem worth the effort or inv space. If someone could post a video response to how they kill glacors faster without titans I'd love it, because I'm struggling to understand what you're suggesting i do.
  21. I see people upload videos of themselves dungeoneering and others giving advice on what they could be doing better. I think this is a brilliant idea and was hoping a few pros could give me the same treatment on my glacors video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpNxw_nkMtQ I'm just looking for ways to improve the general strategy such as which glacors i kill, how i lure the minions, the armour and weapons i use... NOT to point out if i missclick or something, as that's an obvious error I'm aware of and can't really improve at the drop of a hat. Just watch the first 2-3 glacors if you want, it's quite repetitive :P

Mining in a citadel is the fastest experience you can get, and also gives you a ring to get 50% more xp for 15-20k bonus xp. After that, granite till 77, then conc coal, then conc gold at 80.
  23. Actually... You never win, as none of the items in the game have any real world value whatsoever (And in fact don't even belong to the player). A court of law would not judge the difference between 50gp, 3 cowhide, a cabbage and a lucky divine spirit shield. Casinos can't start offering $0.01 prizes on losses and not need a gambling license.
  24. I personally only do JOT (And thats more of a once a week thing whenever i remember it exists) but i will definitely be doing flasks when i have the level, and as someone pointed out getting the battlestaves as I walk past it 50 times a day (And coinpouch + noted staves makes it very little hassle) I don't even do weeklys I'm so forgetful, the only thing I'll consistently do is Troll Invasion, as it's a massive chunk of XP for little work.
  25. Jack of Trades aura is worth doing if you have it. Especially when used on skills such as agility/slayer.
