200M Slayer? Piece of Cake! - I'm Baaaaaaaack!
Nothing much to report of late, I haven't been on much. Grinded out a few Slayer tasks with the new maul. Speeds up things like hellhounds very nicely. Which got me thinking that picking up charms actually slows down a lot of tasks, especially tasks like hellhounds where there isn't any other loot. So... back to Daemonheim I go to start grinding out my next 100k tokens for a charming imp. I'm starting to enjoy solo dungeoneering, just don't tell my clan. >_> Part of the reason I enjoy it is this: Hard to argue with the fishing and woodcutting XP. Apparently it is also efficient to cook and firemake, but I feel like I'm slow enough per floor already, LOL. Only 96k tokens to go!

The manly way to do things
Yeah, unfortunately farming is the only way to get sweetcorn. But it's not bad for XP. I still grow some occasionally at 90+ Farming, when I remember to. (Though, obviously at present I've got some of the new seeds in there.) Worse comes to worse, empty out and re-use the ones you've got, if you're only grinding XP. Not an ideal solution, but deserves a mention.

Do you recommend barraging all tasks? A lot of people have been suggesting that lately. I may try it, as I need range/mage XP more than melee. It does enough damage to kill spawns quickly, even if it is not their stated weakness.

Well I don't really AFK when I Scape. This computer can't really do two things at once, so no Netflixing or anything. And the room I'm in doesn't have a TV or anything. So while most people are AFKScaping because of TV, other games, homework, etc. I don't have that, LOL. So sitting around waiting for something to die, or an invy of fish, or logs or whatever, is pretty boring.

Well I haven't even taken the maul out yet, Kura keeps giving me mage-weak tasks anyway. I'd skip straight to something I can melee, but I need the mage XP too. But I don't want to just barrage everything forever, that sounds boring. :P I played WoW for a long time, in which pretty much everything you do operates on abilities, so I'm used to ability spamming, LOL. Doesn't really bother me.

Well, not much to report over the past couple days, been cranking out floors when I can, until I finally reached my first goal: After much debating, I opted to pick up the chaotic maul. Time for a well-deserved little break from DG to test this baby out! I'm not giving up on DG totally, I still intend to pick up a charm imp thingy, and probably an herbicide, and a demon horn necklace. So I have to at least get to 90.

When I first started Scaping seriously, I really wanted a Cooking cape. I thought it was a lot of fun. It's a shame there isn't more to do with the skill. We have so many options to create dishes in this game. Not to bring another game into the discussion, but a certain popular MMO allows you combine MANY recipes to create food that not only heals, but boosts certain stats, as well as recipes that can be used to feed a whole team! No reason why RS couldn't add in some of those elements. Fishing and cooking alone, or that old standby for those with money, wines that you will never use, is probably part of what makes Cooking have such a bad rap.

Wow! I know in the grand scheme of things, your tab isn't as high as you would have hoped to offset what you dropped on Summoning, but it's still an impressive amount. Not even monetarily, just in the fact you were able to save your drops for so long without going crazy and selling stuff off! I love seeing rare drops even if they aren't worth anything anymore. :P How long had you been saving pouches from Summoning for? The entire 200M XP? Are you keeping any of those scrolls for your own use, or are you pretty much done with any sort of combat activities at this point?

Friends?
Try finding a clan that suits your tastes and goals. There are places both here and on the RSOF where clans advertise themselves. Or just look for the vexillums in the ground at places you like to hang out at, or at the GE. For example, when I first started playing more seriously about 5 years ago, I was really into training Slayer. So, I looked for a clan chat that catered to Slayers. There are groups for just about everything in Gielinor, and it's a good way to make some new friends.

Ehh. I will give it an attempt at least. I do love metal, but I've not yet really become a fan of metalcore. But I am willing to try new things.

Since for some reason it won't let me edit the last post, I thought I'd add I've also been exploring new music options for longer play sessions. I listen to a wide variety of music, but when I'm grinding, I need something both interesting and repetitive and continuous. Right now I'm loving Nick Warren for this, I've probably played Global Underground 030 like 10 times. Daft Punk's Interstella 555 is another favorite, as is John Digweed's first Transitions album.

Not a whole lot going on lately. IRLScape has been kicking my ass, so I've hardly had time to really get down to business. I've been pushing hard to get through some more dungeons, and hopefully, reach at least 200k tokens before I take my next break from it. I haven't been screening levels, but recently I just got 87 Woodcutting and 84 DG. Bonecrushing while on task got me 96 Prayer, and today's smithing daily got me 84 Smithing. POP is coming along, I have unlocked all the jade ship upgrades, and I have just about finished rounding out my crew roster with upgraded people. Now just a matter of gathering materials for building upgrades and trying to get into the next region.

Finished a couple more tasks, gargoyles, and desert wyrms, which gained me 96 Mage and 35M Constitution respectively.

200M Slayer? Piece of Cake! - I'm Baaaaaaaack!
Been a while since I've checked in with my adoring fan. Fans? Fans. >_> I've been increasingly busy with IRL, but in the meantime I'd been slogging my way through solo dungeoneering. Frankly, I'm burnt out. I'm up to 138k tokens, and I need a change of pace other than just POP and the occasional daily skill/citadel capping. So after finishing my ice wyrm task to knock out a Slayer daily, I got my next task: 134 Aviansies. For giggles, I decided, why not Arma? I mean, I don't boss like ever, but this can't be too bad, right? I know I've already mentioned elsewhere how much I suck at the QBD and thus royal cbow is out of my reach at the moment. I'm strongly considering making the crossbow my first chaotic, as I feel like I have more of a deficit in good range gear. Melee gets by pretty easily. Long story short, I wander in there with my crystal bow and attempt to go to town. First round of KC was easy enough, even my crystal bow cut through them like a hot knife through butter. Onto the boss. My first time ever being in there, and despite having studied some guides, it was a little overwhelming. I felt like even though I was spamming my abilities and doing lots of damage, I was taking more than soulsplit could keep up with. I got low, and panicked and hit my house tab. Second round of KC, I brought a couple more pieces of food. KC again was pretty painless, and I went in a little more confident to the boss. I hunched myself into the corner and started wailing away with my abilities and then, before I knew it, Kree was dead! In my excitement, I didn't get the best screenie, but here I am! I managed to squeeze out one more kill before running out of food and getting too low again on the 3rd one. I broke my tab and tele'd out feeling a little more excited. I only had 48 kills left for my task at this point, so I decided to gear up for one more round. I adjusted my invy a little to bring a little more food (I'm an emotional eater, what can I say?) and less pots since I wasn't lasting as long. And honestly that was fine for me. I wasn't expecting to camp endlessly, especially not on my first go-round. I just wanted to bring a little fun to my slaying, and I succeeded.

Made my way to 100k tokens, thanks to a couple of 5 man larges last night with guildmates. I'm still not a fan of team DGing. The lag I get when doors are opened is only exarcerbated in a team, and I find myself not able to do much of anything. I took a little break tonight to catch up on daily tasks. Didn't gain any levels, though. Boo. :( Back to the grind...

Boston Marathon Murders
Exactly. Sure, the act of peeping isn't morally right (and apparently not legal neither) but in some crimes and events you can blame the victim. If you leave an iPod out in the subway station floor you're not going to see it again. The act of stealing it is immoral and illegal but if you're looking for someone to really blame look to yourself for leaving it there. Getting undressed with the curtains open is same thing. Just because you heard the "don't blame victim" idea in some rape debate, doesn't mean it can be applied everywhere. I'm not pleasant with the idea but I sure don't equate that to 1984, a nanny state, or Nazi Germany. You keep poking fun at people that stand up against a cradle to grave nanny state government, calling their fears irrational and misplaced. Soft tyranny and oppression are very real, and the only thing that scares me more than big brother are the proles that are either oblivious to it or too apathetic to give a damn. I only make fun of people who unnecessarily stand up for changes. To me, this camera thing isn't nearly as big of a deal as some would say it is. Privacy, I feel, is often way overrepresented in American politics. If it can prevent or catch the criminal more effectively, then I don't give a damn if you feel molested while watering your garden by that lamppost camera. I can't help but quote Ben Franklin here.... "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Rushing dungeoneering (solo)
One thing I don't think the OP mentioned is whether or not he plans to do MOST of his floors solo. Are you planning to only rush your early floors and team up for the deeper floors? Or do you plan to solo the whole way? Not that it changes strategy that much. I have adapted to C2 rushing my lower floors, even though it personally feels like I'm leaving XP behind. The logic being that the faster you get through little floors, the quicker you get to big floors and to your next reset to do it all over again. I definitely rush the Frozen and Abandoned1 floors, but I usually get antsy and start C6 smalls somewhere between 20 and 30. 30+ I definitely C6 medium, or sometimes if I feel inspired, I can jump in with my guildmates for a large. IRLscape distracts me often, so it's a lot easier for me to solo than to worry about holding up a team if I have to AFK to tend to things. Not to mention I am still not a fast DGer, so I always feel like I'm not pulling my weight in a team. But that's me, LOL, I'm anti-social.

200M Slayer? Piece of Cake! - I'm Baaaaaaaack!
Woot! Thanks! I haven't been taking pictures lately, but I'm up to 80 DG, and recently gained 83 Mining and 86 Fishing from DGing. Been using up some pendants there, too, which has been nice. Thats what my guildmates say, too. Most of them are in the last region and it seems that they are getting trade goods hand over fist. Waiting 7 or 8 hours for a voyage is kind of depressing, too. I guess on one hand being able to "set-it-and-forget-it" is nice, but on the days when I have more time to play, I'd rather be doing more with it. Still marching my way through DG. I'm up to about 80k tokens, so nearing the half-way mark for a chaotic. It will take about 346k tokens to get all the goodies I want at the moment, and I figured I might as well go through and get 90 DG while I'm at it so I can wear the demonhorn necklace.

gonna try slaying
I apologize if I inadvertently stirred up something I hadn't intended to. It was never my intention, and I'm pretty sure at no point did I suggest the OP NOT go for the things that you have suggested. However, the OP never actually made it clear if he was looking for the most efficient, or to save time. The one fact that was apparent was cost. The OP did state how much he was looking to spend on gear. What initially set me off was the comment "Get chaotics or don't slay," which was amended to "get t80 weapons or don't slay." I felt that this was a pretty heavy handed statement, and I still do. Why should a skill or an activity be avoided, or postponed until certain conditions are in place? As a side note, yes I do personally find facing the QBD to not be enjoyable. To date, I've done around 15-20 attempts, and not once have I survived long enough to brandish my crossbow. I don't have the cash to continue making attempts so rather than continuing to force myself through an activity in a game that I pay money for that I don't enjoy, I accepted that the QBD might not be for me, and that I would eventually need to find an alternative weapon. I don't suggest this as a long-term solution to anyone, but at the same time, if I want to slay, I'm not going to grind my progress to a halt just because I am missing this item. I apologize to the OP, this isn't necessarily on topic to what he was asking, and I'm sorry that it's devolved into an argument over what is more "fun."
