Now, admittedly I'm not 99 Thieving, and I apologize for derailing the topic slightly, but why exactly are traders perfect for doing while studying? They seemed like a pain in the ass to me. Not to mention needing to bribe the guards every ten mins or so. I mean, I guess it's not timed so that makes it better than PP?

You've really been cranking away! I can understand your sentiment over the SOF Slayer stuff. SOF has really been sort of a detriment to Slayer since it came out anyway. I mean otherwise, how are people racking up some 10m+ XP in it in a day? But at least you've gotten to take advantage of the improved speed and XP gains since EOC. I got my 99 in 2010, pretty much without chaotics or extremes. That being said: No one's ever "done" with Slayer. The urge to kill things is still strong within you. >.>

Oooh I see the pattern here... :D I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment about the CW reqs. Comp cape isn't really in my goals, but I have quite a few friends who have pretty much burnt out of RS whilst trying to slog their way through 5k games. It's a ridiculous req. and in no way shows that you've "completed" the game. All it does is likely tack on an extra month or so of membership time to line their pockets.

Hmm. I have a fair amount of points, I should probably upgrade my Reverence. What would be an example of a high-lvl monster that would benefit from using Equilibrium? I don't really do much combat outside of Slayer, but if there could be a potential use there, I'm down to try it. I got nothing better to do with these points anyway. I was holding onto them because Jagex had eluded that extra bank spaces would be made available through Loyalty Points. Eventually I broke down, bought the Gold membership and used my Runecoins to get spaces. Plus the freebies they gave us. I like bankspace. >.>

Don't feel too bad I'm in the same boat. I did a couple ABA1 floors solo med last night and averaged about 30 mins for each one. Granted, I wasn't really hurrying, but I used to take a lot longer to do a solo med. It comes down to practicing "good" habits... Only killing for guardian doors, not running into DENK rooms, Resisting the urge to eke out skilling XP (though I do grab fish. Everything else I can leave behind, but I like having that backup pile of food. >.>) I never really thought too much about the fact there is a right way or wrong way to use gatestones. I'll have to take a look at those guides.

I guess there's only just so much grinding I am willing to accept.

Those would be vyre corpses. When the Branches of Darkmeyer quest was released, and Darkmeyer made into a great place to slay Vyrewatch, they started dropping those corpses. Jagex's answer was that because the vyres looked different their corpses needed to look different, too. It's so annoying that they take up so many spaces, LOL. I am debating how long I will let them pile up before I decide to go on a burning spree.

Not too much to report the past couple days... Did a little bit of skilling from what I'd collected in my drop tab, and decided to finish off another little side goal. Also, I've gone through and sold off the bulk of my drop tab. I realize without having a gazillion pictures, there's no way to prove exactly what I received, but I managed to make about 20M on just the stuff that was in the tab, plus I managed to eke out another 2-3M in other small stuff. I had a couple pendants to use up so I spent about 1.5m in secondaries and whatnot to finish those off. So now my Drop tab is back down to this. Let's see how long I can go without selling now, especially with a bit more cash for supplies on the side.

I always thought that was a myth. Like the 2.5k brew drop when brews were actually worth something.

I'm pretty broke and I've given up on yakking bones/hides on blues. We kill them so fast now that you spend all your time drinking summon pots or waiting around for special move points. Failing that it's back to teleporting and banking. >.<

Thanks! it feels pretty good to be 1/8th of the way to my goal. I fondly remember a time when even the idea of 99 in it seemed so far away. I am a broke Scaper, I don't really get into merching or PvM so a lot of the big moneymakers are out of reach for me. Sadly, Slayer doesn't make anywhere near the profit it did years ago. I would love to be able to save drops for millions of XP and have like 100 whips, but I just can't afford to wait that long, LOL.

Happy Easter, folks! Been a few days since I last updated. In the meantime, I've been just slaying and trying to complete some of the new masks. I did manage to turn my Mask of the Abyss into a Helm of Warping. I noticed, however, (and I may be late to the party since I've not been following up with the discussion in the General forum) that the helm keeps counting kills even past 900. Additionally, the helm still guarantees me one abyssal demon task per day. GIven how decent the xp rates are for them at the moment, I won't complain. That being said, I did hit a couple milestones during a task last night... 25M SLAYER! 53M DEF! I am getting to a point where I am going to start needing some more Slaying supplies... I've resisted selling my drops only because I have always wanted to gather them for a long time and have a nice looking tab, but what little profit I make goes right back into supplies and skilling. So here is my tab at 25M. What will likely happen at this point today is I will probably try to start getting what skill XP I can out of whats here. For example, I'll clean the herbs, cut the stones, maybe even do some smelting and smithing, etc. Then I'll sell off what I can, save for what I can use for herblore. As some of you may recall from my first post, I have trained herblore entirely without purchasing any herbs, only secondaries and vials. The rest have come from Slayer, Farming, and my kingdom. Since there's not much added benefit between being able to make overloads and 99, I saw no need to rush these last levels, so I have been plugging away gradually as I make my supplies. Depending on the availability of pyre logs (I really don't wanna make 'em if I don't have to...) I may attempt to burn some corpses as well. Not that there is much profit left in those, I guess. I have a habit of waiting until I have several hundred corpses at once and then hating myself for letting them pile up. A couple months ago, when I last went through "The Burning Times" I started a log in Google Docs so I may revive that and keep adding my findings. I'll post a link if I do. So that's pretty much where I am at, at the moment. What you all think? Are vyres still worth it?

It's a shame that crazy no-lifing will get us everytime. You are still in the home stretch, and reaching your goal will still be no less of an achievement. I am pretty sure nechs got buffed as well as dark beasts and abbies. Not sure about any of the others.

So I found out that you DO need to go to the master that assigns the appropriate monster in order to receive a task while wearing the masks. What I think I'll do then is just do the one task of each per day and then spend the rest of my time slaying with Kuradal as normal. I mean, it's not like the reward is THAT amazing, I just wanted to try it out for fun. That being said, I did manage to hit 52M Def this morning while on task #1250.

Well, I got through The Great Brain Robbery and Rocking Out and I decided I wanted to stab myself. Soooooooo, I likely won't have access to cresbots before Jagex nerfs the droprate of gloves and everyone and his mother has them. I just don't have the wherewithall to quest so much in a short period of time. That being said, it figures that I am out of town on the weekend when all sorts of Slayer goodies appear on the SOF wheel. Nonetheless, I have probably racked up 125k from lamps, and I now have the abby demon, kurask, cockatrice, and crawling hand masks. So expect to see me doing some noob slaying for a little while. I don't want to camp these things when i could be slaying and getting more task points. :P

I needed to see what the big deal was about Macklemore & Ryan Lewis besides that super catchy "Thrift Shop" song. So I queued up the whole album on Spotify. I rarely say this about hip-hop, but the whole album was awesome. Not a bad track on it. I can't get "Can't Hold Us" and "Neon Cathedral" out of my head.
