Still spending too much time with IRLScape lately... but the graphics are amazing, let me tell you... I did manage to crank out a couple more tasks, dark beasts and iron dragons, and hit another milestone.. 23M SLAYER XP! Up next is more gargoyles, one of my favorites!

I've been on a big oldies kick. Especially been focusing on a lot of early rock, blues, and doo wop. Everything from Fats Domino to Chuck Berry. Been jamming with my boyfriend and some of our friends on saxophone, and was looking for some inspiration.

I know, right? Though my monocles have grown on me. Very steampunk. I'd never "hide" my Slayer cape though.

I wish I could keep a tab going for that long. Then again, my other skills are much lower so I would have used a lot of that stuff for skilling rather than selling. Bank space always got in the way too, until I broke down and got the extra spaces. >.< How do you resist the urge to sell it off?

Wow, 400 some-odd kc? Even if I had the stats and skills to make it happen, I don't even think I'd have the attention span to stay there, LOL. Nice going on the XP. Are you planning on keeping them all relatively even (e.g. going for all 20+ then all 25, 30, or whatever) or do you plan to go for 200M in a skill?

Been crazy busy with IRLScape lately, but I managed to pop on for a bit to knock out some more tasks. Nothing too exciting, really. I did find Ice Barrage makes short work of Living Rock Creatures. That was kinda fun. However, I did encounter a couple milestones. 33M CONSTITUTION XP 95 MAGIC!

Couldn't sleep last night, so I popped on for a bit and knocked out a few more tasks. Abby demons, Ice Wyrms, Abby demons again, and then Dusties. Going to Nechs when I get home from work. 23M is coming up soon, and so is 33M Constitution.

Knocked out about another 80k last night. Aquanites are pretty fast now, I really don't know why people hate them so much. I mean, I was doing them before, but they have really improved in speed with EoC. Desert Strykewyrms are about the same as they used to be. Maybe a little faster, but not by much. I am frustrated with that whole glitch with fighting familiars. I had almost forgot about it, and ended up getting so fed up with my titan steeling my kills and having the wyrms disappear that I just dismissed him and finished the task solo. Task 1200 is Abby demons, but I'll likely be away for most of the weekend, so I'll save it for next time.

I don't use cannon anymore, used to use to pre-EoC *Just slays using momentum anyway* Well you're the first then haha. But yeah, I admit I am an efficiency [bleep], I cringed a little when you said you used momentum. But then again we all play this game our own way for our own enjoyment, which is why I havent scaped in over a month because it's just not fun anymore. Oh trust me, I don't judge anyone who plays this game for efficiency. I mean, hell, we wouldn't have a player who has gained 200M in 24 skills and on the doorstep of another if there wasn't some thought and effort put into optimal XP gains over time. I've played other MMOs where emergent gameplay has changed the game from what the devs intended it to be into a grindy, automated race to the top. I'm loath to mention WoW on here, but there's a reason they say the game doesn't "start" until you reach max level. RS is how I relax after I come home from work and take care of my IRL responsibilities. But, I'm not totally closed off to new possibilities. I'll take you up on your challenge, Mish. I'll try cannoning the next 10 tasks (that are cannonable) and see how I feel about it. I'll confess I'm a little apprehensive, LOL. >_> I suppose I shouldn't tell you barraging dagannoths last night was the first time I've ever even USED ancients. :P

But I do dislike using one. :P. And to be fair, I am probably far from efficient when it comes to using my titan as well, but I've become accustomed to that. Cannons have always seemed like a big hassle to me. I have always been sort of a broke noob, so yes, cost does play a factor. But I also dislike having to devote 4 inventory spaces to the cannon, worrying about it degrading on me, retrieving it. That's 4, 5 if you count ammo, extra spaces I could use for loot. Yes, I realize for many, speed and efficiency demands use of a cannon. And that many who are after XP gains often leave most of their drops, if not all of them, behind. So yes, it is both because of cost, and what I perceive to be a hassle.

Absolutely. They've brought it back into the spotlight by making it part of the trim requirements, and in terms of the sheer amount of time that one will need to spend on it. Rather than force people to not play as they would like (your experiences here are a prime example) they should bring it up to speed so that it really jives with our new gear levels and EoC combat. The end result would likely be far more enjoyable.

But I hate cannoning, LOL. I don't even own one. :P In my late-night haze, however, I decided to get the parts for a Royal crossbow, so at least once I get that made I'll have that at my disposal, too.

Had a productive evening with roughly 160k Slayer XP gained. Tore through abyssal demons, then back to gargoyles. My next task was dagannoths, and one of my guildmates suggested barraging them at Waterbirth. I tried it, not having really used barrages before, but what a difference! Talk about a lightning fast task. After that I got 246 dark beasts, which were somewhat slow even having been fixed with the last update. I never really noticed the big difference between rune crossbows and upper tier weapons until now. Crystal bow was faster on dark beasts, despite them being weak to bolts. Maybe, just maybe, I might have to do enough dungeoning to get a chaotic crossbow. Following that, I went back to abyssal demons for another easy task, plus a clue scroll with no notable reward. Next up tomorrow is an aquanite task. In other notable news:

My first name was cerridwen28. Cerridwen is the Welsh goddess of wisdom and intelligence, and a name I had used elsewhere on the Internet. 28 was just random digits to make it unique. Everyone in SGV1 shortened it to Cerri, and while Cerridwen has yet to become available, Cerri did. So now Cerri I shall remain.

Not a bad guide at all. I have yet to get any pieces of Ibis gear yet, but I have heard conflicting reports. Does it appear only oin your inventory, and thus you would always need a free space open? Or will it appear on the ground? I have nightmares of having Ibis show up on the ground only to see "Your time is up..." While trying to grab it.

EoC was probably the biggest highlight for me. It's hardly finished but like Tansuo, I was apprehensive at first, but it has really sped up my Slaying, and inspired me to stick with it. Combat for me used to feel so slow, with nothing to do but click the monster and wait. Or, park myself in the middle, and occasionally drink a sip of prayer. Ports has also been a fun addition to the game, and I look forward to being able to make some really good gear that I didn't need to spend weeks grinding PvM or merching to get.

As far as I can tell, the max is still 5. Now that is going on the word of my guildmates, because I still have about 25 in bank from when they first came out. I had way more than that, but I wanted to open them myself, but at the time the only skill I had that was high enough was 99 Summoning. Now I only have Fletching, Smithing, and Thieving to finish off so I can open the rest.

I think I have to echo the sentiment of cautious optimism. Especially when it comes to the fact they swore up and down that SoF/SGS would have minimal impact on the game. It wouldn't have been so bothersome if it hadn't been pushed so hard in our faces, and the rewards especially from SGS kept purely cosmetic. It's like they're trying to borrow elements from other games without borrowing the entire thing and ending up with a freakish amalgamation of broken updates. I would really really like to see the bot issue nailed down. Oh and while they're at it, better handling of appeals. I've seen a good handful of friends get caught up unintentionally. Which is precisely one of the things they've said in the past was priority for them. To fine-tune their banhammers so as not to catch legitimate players by mistake.

Not all of those are terribly expensive options. Last I checked, Ammy of Ranging was like maybe 500k. I guess it really depends what your goals are, in terms of whether going with the best-in-slot vs. The more convenient options are.
