That's what the news feed is for. Not a fan of soul wars, but it might be a bit more interesting in the beta than the main game. I've done a game of soul wars and no notification in game chat. Apparently somewhere on forums it's been confirmed by Jmod that soul wars does not give steam punk outfit piece. Doesn't state anywhere soul wars gives a part of steam punk outfit as far as I can tell.

Any word from the Beta forums when our next steam punk scientist outfit event is? Only one I've been aware of is the CW one, 3 beta weekends ago now. I would check myself but oh wait...I'm not allowed to view the Beta forums, because I'm only a paying member and therefore do not have the right to full beta access.

'IVPex' bring it on themselves lately with these 'updates' lacking any real content and being crammed full of RWT 'content' that no-one really cares for.

All seems kind of meh til the choose your fate bullcrap. just hope they don't give out weapons/armour as part of it. Actually re-reading that it's obviously going to be some sort of weapon/armour. I mean the most powerful fishing rod/hatchet/pickaxe/box trap in all of runescape? doesn't quite sound right does it?

Still curious as to when these will be released.... Also new demons look meh.

Really let down by the 200mil accounts event, bow looks good but everything else was entirely below par. For all the fuss Jagex made with there countdown they could've at least put more effort into the event, seems the 200mil on SOF was our main 'reward' yet it was released way to early :/ Overall 1/10, would've been 0 if not for the bow, just hope we can keep it.

Think someone already suggested it, but maybe something to replace bonus xp weekends, say a 2x or 2.5x xp multiplier for a limited time.

Unfortunately, players have proven time and time again that they are willing to pay their way ahead. There has been a RWT element in the game for years, the main difference is now it's getting legitimized. Just a shame that people feel the need to buy there way ahead on game that quite frankly can't see being here in another 4-5 years. I really do pity these people.

The idea of selling non-cosmetic items would be most viable, imagine the issues involved if only say 20% of the player base 'buys' an upgrade to say a major town i.e. graphical rework + quest bundle, then they'd have to create a clone of the same location and make the town almost instanced to stop non paying members not see the upgrade others paid to see. And besides that's what we pay our monthly membership for, future content/updates.

Or those investors are just too predictable. Shame that they fit the same template of RWT to every game they pollute with there greed I mean 'invest' in. Not every game has to have RWT elements to be profitable, not when they have recurring membership fees.

Or you got your calculations wrong and it was October 2002 which is far more likely. It should state on his account settings date that recoveries were set though, and if it does indeed say recoveries were set 28th Feb. 2002 then his account couldn't have been made in oct. 2002, thus making his Oct. 2001 claim far more likely

Decided to spend my free points on Guy Fawkes mask, seems odd that the hat alone has same def stats as my slayer full helm without any face covering lol, before anyone says I know that the hat has 0 stats, it's purely a cosmetic skin for headgear.

On a topic unrelated to that quote, I truly don't like the direction Jagex is taking. If we accept this, what else will Jagex try to push through? Just looking at the posts in this thread, a worrying amount of people are desensitized by the SoF saying that at least this is much better than the SoF. I can see this being a green light for Jagex to release more microtransactions, starting with time-expiring ones, and maybe ending with combat items. Phase two of Operation DestroyRS, complete. I'm really tempted to use my 200 rcoins on that Guy Fawkes mask as a form of protest, but I'd only be willing to do it if others do the same :P Sounds like the mass protest the public did at the end of V for Vendetta film, when they marched on the fascist Norsefire party that nearly destroyed England with there political decision-making. That's because you can hide armour/weapons under the new clothing apparently. Why doesn't armour just trump "customisations" then. e.g If you have the Guy Fawkes mask and put on a helmet it disappears until you take it off. Glitch maybe?

Looks a little like the Guy Fawkes mask worn by the character V in the movie V for Vendetta. Kind of saw this coming, at least for now runecoins only buy cosmetic items, find it odd how they appear over normal clothing/armour though, good thing they banned it PVP. I could imagine now full torva being hidden under the new Solomon shop items :/

Membership for runescape was introduced feb. 2002, so in theory some players may have had membership for 10 years consecutively, but I'm tending to agree it will follow 5 year vet cape, and go by date of creation rather than date of first membership. The only potential problem with that is Jagex does not have any records on accounts created during 2001. Records start once membership was introduced. So for extremely old accounts created in 2001, according to Jagex, they'd have been around since 2002 if they subscribed to members when it first came out. They should have records because back 2002 or so they listed some unreleased skill hiscore wrong (herblaw?) and it listed it based by account creation date or account id# in order from first rs account...thats where list "first 1k rs accounts" or something was made from that is been spreading in internet since then...Andrew even kept records of total account online age since very beginning so it would be odd to leave out creation date from details. Seems like the 10 year cape counter will start from date membership was introduced, so feb. 2002. Anything before that was back when runescape was still very low key garage project-esque to have too much in the way of reliable dates/creation data.

What?!? why Jagex why?....hope it doesn't become unwearable when degraded like barrows. And hope the repair costs aren't too high, maybe fixable with bob/POH stands rather than needing slayer points like DG item recharges.
