Jagex Account Guardian
I am genuinely more excited for JAG than anything else this month. Shame it wasn't announced as part of the actual BTS for September, seeing as MMG promised us Account Guardian within the next two weeks at the end of July.

01 Sept, 2012 - Behind the Scenes September
I didn't catch it, but I think some people in my clan said it's revealed that Zaros is the god of Manipulation? Well they said that he liked to spy on his followers and do some tricks with them, but nothing past that. All Gods manipulate their followers...and besides isn't the trickster one of the forms of the Desert God Apmeken;

Linking JAG to SOF/SGS would be the stupidest decision that IVPex have ever thought of, and they have a lot of competition in that department :/

I called Mr Mordaut :D (few pages back), nice fist of Guthix I'm guessing, hope they make a ban hammer animation still.

Jagex Account Guardian
I agree entirely with this. Btw, your post, great find (the screenshot). A few years back, Jagex came out of the idea with a USB dongle, and they even came out with a poll on it. I think the idea was scrapped because A) the poll indicated it wasn't financially feasible B) the majority of players only wanted it because it was supposed to come with extra bank slots since your account "was more secure" I'll go find the link. But since then Jagex have had more backing from IVP (for better or worse) and found another form of steady income other than recurring memberships, i.e. SOF/SGS, this could be the difference maker in such a device being made & sold this time around. Can't say I'll ever be a fan of IVP, but if there involvement in Jagex helps fund these dongles I'd be very happy customer knowing my account is that much more secure.

Jagex Account Guardian
Long, long, long overdue update and Mercifull's find is very promising that this could come sooner than I expected, *clears space on my android smart phone for the inevitable app* To be fair, this system should have been introduced from day 1. Just a shame that technology and cash constraints stopped Andrew, Paul and Constant doing something along these lines when RS membership started back in 2002.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
My point was more I could kill level 8 cows with 1 ranged quite easily but at 12 ranged I was unable to even hurt a level 2 rat. They both had the same weaknesses, earth spells, and theoretically the cow should have had more defence hence the higher combat. xp rates/hr aside that is very unbalanced combat

The F2P General Discussion Thread
Agreed, i was gaining a level per kill (def & ranged) on cows fairly quickly levels 1-11, but was unable to damage a normal rat with 12 ranged including abilities, so many misses, and both had the same weakness earth spells. I was using longbow then oak longbow with appropriate arrows the entire time and full leather armour & ammy of power.

with the state of ftp combat especially mage and prayers, i'm not surprised EoC live release has been delayed.

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
Finally after months of free spins and random crap off the SOF, I get the full dragon ceremonial outfit before it's removed from the wheel :D so happy. Recoloured to match my gaze affect.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
I glitched upon logging into beta on my ftp account, without importing save. Appeared in a house that come to think of it did look a lot like it was starting location on Tut. Island, had no tabs to open at all (all blanked out and empty) no log out button when I pressed the little 'x' or no life/prayer/summ. icons near map. Then my browser crashed and when I logged back in next time was in normal lumby getting to choose my appearance from the pre-set builds.

I get accused of botting at least 5 times a day at lrc because I just stand around and fish and don't talk. Do you know how annoying that would be to constantly be interrupted? I think it's more going to be if Jagex catch a bot with there anti-botting program they get sent to the bay, sending a player every time they get accused by another would be disastrous, I mean you could be accused just so someone could take your place at a training spot, or someone with a vendetta against you could keep sending you there all day long.

I fully expect a ban hammer animation option, as for the others maybe being sucked into a blackhole of sorts and Mr Mordaut appears and burns them to cinders? this animation has happened prior in some cutscenes during quests, possibly tail of two cats if I recall correctly.

Promissory Note & Choose Your Fate rewards
I vaguely recall one line enar the bottom of a news post saying "end of summer", but even if that is true it wasn't very foregrounded given how many people fail at news reading and would've left long before that last little line. Well technically Autumn started 1st september, so there is your expiry date :P

It sounds that the 'punishment' is an ingame animation, jagex will ultimately ban the bot regardless

Promissory Note & Choose Your Fate rewards
I'm 100% sure they said there was a cut off point on the mad may necklace, when they released them in-game. Will try find the quote about it if I get around to it.

Well seeing as bots can't talk, maybe Jagex don't actually send the real bot to the island, insta-ban them and then put an instanced clone onto the island for 'x' amount of minutes or as long as 'judgement' take aka 'banning' the instanced npc.

The best BTS of 2012 easily, a lot of actual content, as opposed to some previous BTS posts. Quests will be interesting and means I can mantain my QP cape for another month :D GWD rework sounds interesting and i'll be keen to finally enter the Dungeon for the first time ever Al Kharid will be amazing, can't wait to explore the new layout etc. The bay sounds intriguing, will hold my judgement on that til I see it in-game. And finally daily challenges...well I always log on and stick to same routine so probably won't affect me, but good for players that get bored easy/don't know what to do The little SOF/SGS mention is typical of IVPex, but rest of BTS more than makes up for it. Overall 9.5/10, -.5 for said SOF/SGS mention :/

Promissory Note & Choose Your Fate rewards
Finally got myself 80 slayer & vine whip, also a few free herby levels, plan on dumping all next months on herby too, saves me a fair bit of cash and moves me ever closer to overloads etc. Managed to bypass the level 72 req. of 100k lamp by dumping 3 50k lamps on herblore 70-72, then a 100k to get 73 herblore.

Sizzling September!
I am surprised, considering how they implemented mad may's xp via a necklace, that they are basically giving you 350k xp in lamps via this bank of XP, easy 80 slayer & herby levels for me though :) EDIT: well I will when they update my account with the note :/

Mod MMG on RuneScape Micro-Payments
I think they should take a page out of LoL's book and make the solomon/sof stuff available to everyone but through a slower way or after a certain amount of time has passed. Eg. you get points for doing stuff like gaining xp, playing minigames, killing bosses, or whatever. And then you can spend them on what you want. Or after a year has passed, the items become free and everyone can get them. Or after a year has passed they are added to loyalty shop, etc. The current system is way too extreme considering we're already paying monthly. I mean, really. But doesn't the stuff in LoL give actual gameplay advantages? That would probably be why they're also available to non-payers, albeit harder to obtain. Runescape's microtransactions are only cosmetic, and don't affect gameplay, therefore there's no real reason to allow everyone to get them for free. I never got into Lol, but I thought their CS was cosmetic only? I guess that changed. Either way we're already paying for membership, we should have access to everything. Jagex IVPex is just greedy for trying to make us pay both ways on a 10+ year old game no less. Fixed. :P

Mod MMG on RuneScape Micro-Payments
Wait...are we not including bank boosters as in-game advantages? surely a player having extra bank spaces to hold more items would be an advantage over a player without the extra bank space, even though they've confirmed the bank boosters are coming to Loyalty Points Shop (although the price has yet to be confirmed, easily going to be in the 50k+ region I could imagine).

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
That's what happens when you give everyone but mainly 'leet pkers' free Torva/Pernix/Virtus, nearly unlimited food/pots/runes/summon pouches etc. and every weapon under the sun or ways to make nearly unlimited gp for buying such weapons from other 'leet pkers'.
