Damn, it won't be long before it is better money to make superior gear and die than it is to make the tradeables.

I had almost no scrolls for weeks (took me from day 1 to pincers to get full tetsu, doing every scroll), but build two telescopes and have I only missed two days of the last three weeks. So from my awfully small sample I would say that telescopes are a necessity to finish all the recipes in a timely fashion. I have heard similar reports from others too. I agree the others are not worth it, but telescopes might be the exception.

If you don't want the quest plot spoiled, don't read the thread where 99% of discussion is going to be about the quest... Seriously, having to put every post in hide tags is stupid.

I would imagine Jagex would be hesitant to implement something like skill plots in your POH, as they want to encourage teamplay, whereas if the best fishing or combat plots were in your own house it would make the game essentially single player (unless a teamwork element is enforced such as in the suggestions of previous page). I am hoping to see something like POPs, where you go back and check on something every once in a while. I suppose farming plots would fit into this, (and a house spirit tree would be awesome). I once read an idea of animal husbandry, where you could grow and train animals in a stable-type area of your POH. I think I would enjoy spending a few minutes a day upgrading my stable and teaching my pets new tricks, as long as they spent the rest of their time grazing and growing on their own.

Definitely prioritize scrolls, but if you're looking for superior sets I recommend doing all the trade good missions you come across (over jade/steel), since storyline rewards don't supply enough to make a full set. Even in Pincers, trade good missions are not so common.

Someone asked Jagex in the Q&A if they could have a few f2p worlds (still members only, but act like f2p), and they said they thought it was a good idea, it sounds like it will be an option. I meant that it wasn't an option because I would have to pay $10+ each time I wanted to create a new account for 07scape, didn't even think of that lol.

I wasn't going to vote, but since it is coming out regardless and I would not be allowed to try it unless I voted... Either way, I know I will be bored within a month. It will be fun to replay some of the old quests in their former glory, but I don't wish to return to old training styles like running essence from the nature alter to that general store. Besides, there was a lot wrong with RS back then too, and the community was not as great as everyone thinks. Even though I usually stuck to a close-knit group of friends, I still got my fair share of scam and lure attempts, competition with bots, people crashing my training spot and cussing me out when I did not instantly yield it to them. Most vividly I remember entire groups of people who solely made money by luring Dag Prime and Supreme onto unsuspecting magers, myself included, to loot their guthans spear and other items. I did have a ton of fun with low-level F2p pking, but that won't be an option anymore :(.

I won't be voting, but if it is successful I will be watching it closely. Am very interested to see what happens with everyone starting from scratch. Whips will be king again I'm guessing, so will be interesting to watch the race to 85 slayer and the price they command. Early on 2007scape gold will be worth a lot more than 2013scape gold, how long will it take for the merchants, PVPers (and bots) to reach max cash and beyond? Hell, how will people handle beyond-max-cash without rares or spirit shards? Max piles of rune scims :)?

Anyone tried a Jad pet? (can't recall if familiars were allowed...they were not in boss iirc). Edit: Nevermind, found thread stating it had been tried. I'm curious too now =S gonna bother me all night.

By 'stick to Bowl' I meant slow your progress to avoid reaching Pincers too soon. That way all special voyages are Bowl-difficulty and Bowl-time.

Pincers is really the worst thing ever. Now that the race to make armour is over, unless you are rushing to make the Superior ones for yourself, the best tactic is to stick to Bowl (where you can 90+% all of your scrolls and get them in a shorter time) and gather all the scrolls you can. Now that I am in Pincers, I can barely 80% anything giving more than 200 steel, and have not sent a scroll above 75% ever. I'm sure it will get better once I get all the crew and upgrades, but that's a slow slow process - most days no Pincer crew even appear from my 15 rerolls.

Just got recolourable ramokee legs from SOF rare slot. Need all 5 to recolour though. Just cosmetic, no stats. Atm it kinda looks like purple and orange version of hoardstalker. Edit: The newspost is out now.

You know you can get 240k xp and 24k tokens in less than 10 minutes of work, too, right? Sure, for F60 with an impressive team. But if you consider F1-60 as an average, it isn't 240k xp/24k tokens per ten minutes over that time. In fact, over that time the average probably resembles the average you would get at sinkholes. I hate the recent RS culture where you can't do anything unless it is the very very top xp (token) rates. Sinkholes were fun, and they have decent, even if not the best, rewards. Isn't that enough of a reason to play them? And isn't it enough of a reason not to be condescending to anyone who does want to have a bit of fun?

Came first for 5k tokens + 100k xp. For less that ten minutes work, it wasn't too bad.

There is if you want your crew to level up... Usually if I am in that situation I will send an unrelated low-level crew member (eg combat instead of morale). Unless all your crew are maxed out, you should never leave empty spaces on ships.

I had one that said 10h30m after using bag of wind, but when I sent it the time remaining was 9 hours.

Dunno if this was mentioned, but steel titans special now hits themselves instead of whatever they are attacking. So...that's a useful fix.

The problem I have with most accomplishments of Woox16 is that is greys the line between what is and is not bug abuse. For example, his Nex solo exploited movement mechanics and meant he took very little damage. Obviously this was a bug, which got patched very soon after, but Jagex played it up like he was a big hero. Similarly with the rerolls exploit for POP. This makes it harder to define what bug abuse really is, as it might just be a legal exploit which you should keep quiet about to avoid it getting patched. Indeed, it may even encourage seeking out bugs to exploit for profit, because if you are famous enough Jagex will reward you with fame and glory rather than a reset or ban.

I'm willing to count the lack of ingame popups as a victory if you are. :razz: Don't know about you, but I count as ingame spam the unavoidable SOF draggable thingy, the glow directing you to SOF/Solomon tab whenever there are new items in the store, and the unfilterable 'recent update' messages which include 50% SOF/Solomon advertising. Although I am glad there is no 'don't show this for 5 days' popups still.
