  1. Turns out the darts are limited by the damage cap on monsters. Max is 1k on corp and QBD, 500 on Nex, etc. Sadface. Edit: Confirmed to be bug as per below. Curious as whether those who that wasted theirs will be compensated.
  2. Just got my xp and fate cards :) Gonna hold off on choosing my 'fate' until I see some research about how they can be used though.
  3. I'm pretty sure they were taken off the wheel when this new promotion started. Well I guess my chance is actually zero then :(. I assumed it ended the same day we received the other summer rewards such as the 700k xp, checking now though I see that they do not.
  4. The really annoying thing is that they don't let their first promotion end before starting the next one. With these skill sets taking up all my rare slots, the chance of getting my sunbathe emote and shark fists from free spins in these last few days is practically zero...
  5. These are definitely one of the things that should be earnable via gameplay as well (as permanent versions).
  6. Any word on bank boosters in loyalty shop? Thought 'coming weeks' would mean this month :(.
  7. Same principle applies at lower levels though. The combat ones are a good example, if I was combat level 70 I might get the "Kill enemies over level 60" challenge, but I am too high for the "level-40 enemies" challenge and too low for the "level-80 enemies" challenge. (Not sure on specific numbers, etc, just giving rough example) .
  8. I have had Mahogany costume boxes three times now. I believe the reason is that, while there are 700+ challenges, really you only get one or two per skill because they try to cater to your level. For example, at 99 construction you are only asked to make mahogany furniture, not oak or teak. Therefore the number of possible challenges I will actually get set is more on the order of 30-40.
  9. Am I reading this wrong, or does this mean the screen and rewards of my next spin are determined even before I get a spin ticket / open the interface?
  10. Anyone got tips for the more annoying challenges? Making Costume/toy boxes/etc without removing all the costumes I have stored (flatpacking is ok but slow...) Monster over 185? Dom Tower bosses work, but vyrelords are fastest easiest I have found so far.
  11. Apparently more to follow (pg 3): 15-16-283-64002209
  12. IMHO Burthorpe and Taverly are way better than they used to be, aside from the loading bug. They were almost useless before, and now can help new players get to grips with the game (no easy feat, considering the size and number of skills we have), the advisors in these areas replace the need for them elsewhere. I wish they would remove RWT too, but the rose-coloured glasses seem to blind people to the fact that things were often just as bad in the 'old Runescape.'
  13. I save my earned spins for the promotions they do. On the Alchemists amulet weekend, I used my earned spins collected earlier in the week and fragment pieces were an option (and won from two of them). Obviously if I had spun earlier in the week when I had obtained these tickets, I could not have received these rewards, which implies that your prize is not determined prior to opening the spin interface. However, if you click to open the interface, close it, and reopen, the reward options are the same, so it is still possible that the prize for a single spin is determined prior to hitting the button once the interface is opened. (Sorry if I misinterpreted, 'before you go to spin' sounds to me like 'before you open the spin interface' but I realise it might not be meant that way).
  14. Sounds like you want to play a game of 'Who can be the bigger pessimist?' IridiumBunny responds with: inb4 my daily challenge is to buy spins and runecoins.
  15. Pretty cool topic :) Would be interesting to see when it is accurately completed. Unfortunately there is a lot of rumour/minor mentions of people who could be powerful but we will most likely never see and are hence hard to gauge - maybe give them their own section. For some reason I want to say Kuradel's mother, I heard a mention of her being more powerful than Kuradel and Duradel, somewhere but can't quite recall. I do know that many speculate her to be a 'final' slayer master. Just my opinion, but combat level might not be a good gauge for 'power' in the sense that this topic is looking for. For example, Dagannoth Supreme (from his examine) is said to have wiped out the Bukalla race (whoever they were), but he is only 303. Another example is the low combat level of several Mahjarrat (Lucien (lvl-14), General Khazard (250) and those in ROTM cutscenes (can't recall but I remember being surprised at how low it was)). Another opinion (feel free to ignore me), Sunfreet might qualify for tier 4, although I am not aware of the lore surrounding him so... Gl with this anyway, look forward to seeing it develop.
  16. Might not be recent, but just noticed #5 finished his 3-part name: I have quit caring about my RS pixels. Side note: When did they add arrows to the highscores? Edit: Oops, fixed as per below.
  17. If you have to train for months to be able to get a kill at a mid-level boss, it seems like a pretty poor game design. "Train your skills" is not really a solution, there should be bosses catering to a variety of levels, not just end-gamers.
  18. Maybe we have a different definition of gameplay. I am going by "the way the game is played," and stating that some people, my friends included, don't play much content beyond dressing up to look pretty. Gameplay for them is collecting outfits, wearing them, some even roleplay with them. How is looks not the same as gameplay for them, if their gaming experience does not extend beyond customizing their looks?
  19. I think they should take a page out of LoL's book and make the solomon/sof stuff available to everyone but through a slower way or after a certain amount of time has passed. Eg. you get points for doing stuff like gaining xp, playing minigames, killing bosses, or whatever. And then you can spend them on what you want. Or after a year has passed, the items become free and everyone can get them. Or after a year has passed they are added to loyalty shop, etc. The current system is way too extreme considering we're already paying monthly. I mean, really. But doesn't the stuff in LoL give actual gameplay advantages? That would probably be why they're also available to non-payers, albeit harder to obtain. Runescape's microtransactions are only cosmetic, and don't affect gameplay, therefore there's no real reason to allow everyone to get them for free. Good point, no reason to only restrict them to payers though. We all pay for membership we should be entitled to everything. No, I think you missed my point. We ARE NOT entitled to getting cosmetic items for free. There's no real reason, they're entirely for show. Let the people who want to pay for them have them. It's only imperative to allow for an alternative free way of obtaining items if said items give some kind of advantage. This really bothers me. Just because it doesn't affect YOUR gameplay, you assume it doesn't affect anyone elses. There are plenty of fashion players in this game who stand around all day trying to make their character pretty. I personally know a few who only levelled so they could wear certain items to match their outfit. That's why so many cosmetic items like dragon masks, with no real use, command such high prices. Not having access to all the 'fashions' certainly affects their gameplay. Personally I have no problem with cosmetic items for sale if you could obtain them a hard way like Den suggested. Analogous situation: I don't do any PVP, so Jagex could start charging Runecoins to use the wilderness and it wouldn't affect my gameplay, but sure as hell would affect other peoples.
  20. I hope they don't change this, because when they start selling the ability to broadcast messages (which apparently happened on MapleStory) I want to be able to block them.
  21. ^ I think it is so people have enough space to store all the cosmetic crap from future SOF updates. So you have to pay to store the stuff you paid for. Although personally I keep placeholders for tons of things and so my bank is pretty full...but refuse to microtransact to get more. What reason is there for saving bank boosters from Loyalty until next week?
  22. Anyone figured out how to get bank space from Loyalty shop? Can't find it anywhere...
  23. The thing that bothers me the most, if Jagex had added skins, emotes and customizations for everyone without cost, even if they put some as loyalty/minigame rewards, this would have been one of the best updates of the year. It probably would have attracted tons of new players. That said, I am glad the Achievement Banners are $20 cause those things are bloody annoying and I don't want any more people to have them >.<
  24. I was under the impression that Jagex manually removed the ex-members from highscores at regular intervals, and that it does not happen automatically after two weeks. This leads to sudden drops which people assume are bot nukes, but are really just a cleaning up of the highscores. No source for this, but I don't understand why people assume a bot nuke is more likely. If Jagex identifies a bot, why wouldn't they ban it immediately? To think they wait for a month, allowing them to do a months more damage, then ban them all at once seems illogical.
  25. While that may be true, how many legitimate players train 4-5 skills to mid-40s to reach one specific area, then suddenly decide to go for 200m hunter? If anything, playing in such a way should be throwing up red flags left and right, and the account investigated further for evidence, well before they gain so much xp. I know, I know, they want to focus on "breaking" rather than "banning" bots, but if they have some new shiny data-analysis method they want to earn some goodwill from, shouldn't it be better at identifying probable bots than a regular player is? And shouldn't more than 101 bots have been banned, considering there are probably thousands using the same bot scripts?
