  1. Another 'update' which happened on the 14th. Considering I could look the the first few pages of hunter highscores and still pick out 101 bots myself no sweat, I have to say their data analysis sucks. (As if we didn't know that already). QFC 14-15-927-63943806
  2. How can they still dispute that SOF is not the direct sale of gold and xp now? Every spin guarantees gold or xp...
  3. Just did my barrows run for the beta costume only. If you just want to get the costume, you don't need to kill all brothers, just open the chest. I did the four melee brothers with blood barrage and soul split, never got close to death and they still died pretty fast. I ignored the other three because I didn't bring another combat style and on opening the chest I still got the message that I earned the beta piece. Considering the number of glitches, unbalanced gear, stupidly powerful Akrisae, etc, still in the beta, I think this was a poor choice for a beta event at this time (they could have skipped a week or two to get some new patches out before making us go there...), so was just glad to get through it quickly.

  8. Official RS wiki has the stats listed now. The highest leveled ones (Shark Fists 4 @ 55 Attack) have +36 stab, +51 slash and +51 str. I don't know the speed, but if we assume claw stats scale linearly between rune and dragon claws, these have (almost precisely) the stats we expect from level-55 claw weapon.
  9. Lots of people are reporting the same, so probably true. Page 2 and 3 of hunter highscores is still full of 200m xp hunter bots though, so if there was one it wasn't a great one.
  10. Cheese rolling makes me want to cut myself. Is there invisible obstacle glitch or did they make it so you have a chance of tripping up on nothing? I just tripped up after 0 rounds (first square...). Edit: Although I am in the same world as RuneShark and it's funny to see the same thing happen to him over and over as well.
  11. I am not really sure who they are trying to appeal to with all these membership gimmicks. Looking at the world list right now, there is far fewer F2P worlds than P2P worlds, and the F2P worlds generally have far fewer people in them. To me it seems like the majority of players are already members, and the few that are not will likely not become member regardless (bot, pure free player, parental restrictions etc). Unless their goal is to stop people quitting mems during RWT scandals, wouldn't it be better to spend their time attracting new players rather than trying to get existing F2P to go P2P?

  13. Lol, there is at least one subset of players that Jagex is going to make money from. RSOF is full of requests for French maid, lolita, nurse, furry costumes. I am too scared to go into the Role-playing world now.
  14. The duration thing makes me wonder if they will start selling items for cash for a limited time, so basically you pay Runecoins to 'borrow' a partyhat or fury or something? Then they can use a weak argument of the sort "You're not buying in-game advantage because you don't get to keep it!"
  15. inb4runecoinsonsof according to some rsof threads they already are. Probably the same people that told us about the degradeable slayer helm. A thread on RSOF had what I thought was a good idea: Replace xp and gp on SOF with Runecoins and remove buyable spins. Or another not-ideal-but-would-still-accept-if-it-got-rid-of-SOF idea: Add everything in Loyalty shop to Solomons shop (which they might like since they can sell them) but give people Runecoins each month instead of Loyalty points (and remove SOF).

  18. I tried using them at Kree'ara, but they kept disappearing with the message 'Didn't see me fighting.' I was spamming abilities though, so maybe you need to keep autoattacking?
  19. I might get flamed for this, but I am kind of glad that they at least had some restriction on those that can access the beta. Theoretically, the ones who got in (12 months + 50k based on their gameplay apparently) are more likely to understand the game better, have more investment in it, and be able to recognize what does and does not need to be reported as a bug. Additionally, it avoids letting it too many 'throwaway' accounts which people might use to spam them with false bug reports and hinder their efforts. As they are supposedly going through every single report, this seems like the best way to ensure reports are genuine and not time-wasting. Twelve months may have been stupidly long, but at least it's something. I thought I saw somewhere in this thread that they were going to remove the GE and trading functionalities, so the ridiculous 'beta market' and gambling should die out soon enough.
  20. The alternative is a cantankerous healing out of combat system asking to be abused. Besides, isn't there a constitution ability to heal with? Most people are suggesting (and I agree) that if you are out of combat for twenty seconds or so, they should maintain the % of life points you have. So if I am 25/50, putting on armour gives me 2500/5000, taking off puts me back at 25/50. This seems reasonable enough to me - how would someone abuse it? The only way I could see would be to get out of combat for the specified time (between boss kills, around a corner in fight caves or generally running from your enemy) then take off armor, eat a rocktail which boosts you to 990 lifepoints (100%) and put on armor giving you in your case, rocktails that heal 5000 lifepoints. Extending the timer would make it only useful at banks where it's not really a big deal. Not that I think it's a bad idea per se, I just don't think it's worth the hassle, just eat those 5 rocktails before you go bossing. Ah, that makes sense I suppose. For some reason I thought food healing was also proportional to lifepoints (healing set % of health) but looking back now I see this is not the case.

  22. Don't really understand how this stops the bot owner from signing it up...? Obviously all the 'afdgarga' yew-cutters might not, but there are plenty of high-level botters which the owner might be attached to, or might want to use in the beta to develop new bots to cope with the changes.
  23. I think they mean that a portion of the limited 50k spots (for those without full access) will get taken up by botters. Also, signing up only required clicking an item in inventory, so it wouldn't surprise me if some bots had signed up.
  24. Wouldn't trust the wiki just yet. A while ago it said it was for those with 3000 days of mem, and now it is saying it is given to those who spent $500 on spins.
  25. serious? 500K? [bleep] that. That's a disgusting money sink for PvP. I can see this turning into dead content easily. From the article it doesn't look like a sink, it's a fee that you pay on entry, and on death part of it goes to your opponent in addition to anything you drop. And if you abandon the arena then you forfeit the fee, which your opponent receives in full. The Official RS wiki makes it sound like the fee component based on levels and gear is always given to your opponent if you die, and the flat fee is given to your opponent if you run away or lag out. What it doesn't specify: If you don't run, but still die, the 500k simply disappears from the game? Or is it returned to you?
