Rowling Says Dumbledore Is Gay.
Reading what she described, I think she may have hidden it somewhat in the books. I believe that maybe at the start she wanted him to be gay, but kinda covered it a bit. It may be a publicity stunt, but it doesn't completely surprise me. I also kinda thought there was more to the whole Grindelwald story than what was in the books.

I-Doser - Getting High, Without Drugs
I gave this a shot the night I found the post (I've been busy the past couple days so I haven't been around :P ICP concert ftw) and I can say that they do work. One of the ones I tried was Valium. I was asleep as soon as I could take off my headphones. That's the ONLY one I tried with known effects. I tried another one, Ecstacy, and didn't know what the outcome was gonna be. Let's just say it worked. (and no, the outcome is NOT drug-related. Trust me on that. I was stupid and didn't read the description on the I-Doser site before getting the mp3) So, I'm thinking that it may actually be a brainwave effect, and not just a placebo effect, what with my usage.

Do you believe in "aliens"
People are inclined to disbelieve ghosts, mainly due to religious reasons. If ghosts exist, then any form of middle-afterlife does not, which would then disprove other forms of afterlife(heaven, hell, etc). That's part of the reason I think people are quick to not believe in ghosts, even with proof. Also, the fact that ghosts are generalized as shadows of a former self, it comes with negative connotations. It is something less than human, therefore must be treated as such(not my words, just my theory of other peoples words). As for aliens, people are quicker to believe in there being other beings outside of our little tiny solar system, even if they've never made contact, due to the fact that people want to believe in something bigger than themselves, rather than the shadows of a former self. Therefore, people tend to move in the direction of said aliens, being more intelligent than we human are and therefore greater than ourselves. Now that I am done with my explanation, here is my belief: I believe there is something out there. Not sure what it may be, but there has to be something there. We can't be the only intelligent life forms in this universe. And my theory on why we may have not gotten contact: too far away. They may have faster ships than humans could ever create. They may have found uses of wormholes or something like that, and can go great distances in space in a shorter amount of time, but I believe that if they are there. they are too far to reach us.

Al Gore wins Nobel Peace Prize!
I'm inclined to say prolonged drought would cause millions to starve all around the globe, and an increase in, say, hurricane intensity would all on it's own be able to add in the odd kill here and there. And that's, if you'll pardon the pun, the tip of the iceberg. One of the theories of the global warming factor is that of the superstorm, which then causes an ice age. There was actually a book on this theory, written by Art Bell and Whitley Streiber called The Coming Global Superstorm (which was the basis for the movie The Day After Tomorrow... of course the theory wasn't one of it being overnight if I recall, but the overnight thing was meant to be dramatic for Hollywood.) It is actually quite the interesting theory. I'm sure you could find the book at a library (I hope), so pick it up. My fiance bought the book, he listens to Art Bell's radio show almost religiously. I'm just presenting another side to the global warming debate, not putting in any of my own opinions. And yes, I link to Wikipedia a lot, they are quite accurate, at least with certain information.

Help stop the Law of the Sea Treaty!
The ONLY statement against this whole thing that I agree with, and I'll explain. I see alot of people sending money to help children in other countries. I have a problem with that. Why? you ask. Simple. We can't even make the effort to help people in our own neighborhood, why are we extending ourselves to help people on the other side of the world. Help the people here who NEED it. If the so-called big business people need money taken out of them by force, then do it HERE so we can help OUR homeless, OUR poor, OUR hungry. If that sounds greedy, it's not. I don't want the money for me, I want it for the guy who lost his house because he couldn't pay for it due to losing his job, forced onto the street begging, and can't get a job because he doesn't have the money needed to buy soap to wash himself. (not the drunk dude, by the way. if he is spending the money on booze instead of soap, it's his own fault) Or the abandoned child not found and forced to live out of trashcans. Those are the people that need it HERE in America. Pull it out of big business wallets by force, to help those who need it at home first. (and no, I'm not some ultra-conservative christian fanatic. Far from it.) Other than the foreign aid thing, I see no problem with it.

Fishing and Cooking... My Journey! ~99 Cooking & New Goals!~
bloodyhatchetbear replied to bloodyhatchetbear's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)Got another fishing level today, 81. I'll keep going and going and going. It's actually going faster than I thought it would, to be honest. I've got a friend who's low on cash makin me some pastry doughs for when I want to do pies. It's helpin him keep busy, and will get him some cash for some armor because he got scammed. At least he'll being doing honest work to get stuff back. And this will be the only time I buy something for my skills. Pastry doughs are easy, but tedious, and can be done at any level. I'd probably be called lazy for not doing it myself, but I'm also giving someone else a chance at making money, whereas they can't do much to get it themselves. More honorable IMO.

Tongue Piercing...
Actually, you can make tongue rings less noticeable by getting a clear plastic barbell tongue ring. Serves the dual purpose of not being noticed and keeping the hole open.

Gender Dysphoria
This is a summary of my thoughts thus far. I think (as far as I can tell through reading) That sep already made her decision BEFORE her parents found out. Also, As far as I can tell, religion has played a part in a LOT of sexuality debates, no matter what the religion may be. Sep is also 16, IIRC, so that, in my mind at least, would seem fair enough to allow her to make her own decisions. As to the whole recent Bipolar thing, I'm bipolar, but yet I've never bent the rules (or completely abolished them) just to get my parents' attention. True, I did have a rocky relationship with them (two bipolar women in the same household and a deadbeat dad would do it), but I still try to get along with them(at least my mom anyways). I do also act like a guy at times, but have NEVER thought of a sex change, because I do like being a chick for the most part. But this is just me talking from personal experience, being bipolar myself, not as any expert or anything. Also, I think I asked once already, How old is flamecaller? just out of curiosity.

Tongue Piercing...
Yes they do. It's very odd, and takes IMMENSE tolerance to pain and is pretty much an all-out medical procedure. I wouldn't do it, but I know a few people considering it.

Tongue Piercing...
There are alot of things you need to consider before getting your tongue pierced. 1) Are you totally into orla hygiene? Of course you are, stupid question, right? Some people aren't totally, and that can increase the chance of infection. You would need to clean it like seriously all the time until it totally healed, and even afterwards. It can be a pain in the rear at time. 2)Can you go without solid food for a couple weeks? If you get ANYTHING stuck in the hole, you're gonna have some issues, so you won't be able to eat anything good and solid until it heals a bit. 3) Do you have just one vein or split veins? Odd question, but if you look under your tongue, you can see veins there. The best veins for tongue piercing are split, meaning when the needle goes through it, it won't puncture veins, and therefore will not hurt you. If they aren't forked like that, you CANNOT get your tongue pierced, and no respectable piercer will do it for you. 4) Can you live with it for the rest of your life? I know it's not visible unless you open your mouth, but there's still that possibility that you say in 10 years "Man, I wish I never did that!" It's something that you have to consider long and hard before making a decision like that. I would say the same for any piercing as well as any tattoo. Now, for those of you who are like "OMG guys shouldn't do that!" - Hush. I've known the straightest guys in the world with tongue piercing(s) and the piercing worked out quite well for them.

The Great Sig & Profile Stealnage Thread - Round 2!
I woulod just like to say, that even though some of you don't know me, I would really appreciate it if no one took my sig or avvie. I did work hard, and I wouldn't want someone walking around the forums looking like me (almost literally). I'm not going to be mean about it, it's just a small request. ^_^

Parents
When I was younger, and still at home, I brought very few friends over to my house, mainly due to the fact that my mom had this rule "No people over with at least an hours warning". The reason for the rule: my mom always had crafts stuff all over the place, and wanted time to tidy up a bit. Other than that, when I did bring friends over, they loved my mom, because my mom was always that 'cool' mom. The one that everyone could talk to, and be comfortable around. I guess I was lucky in that aspect. If you can at least open up a bit and talk to your parents, I'm sure it could be reasonable to bring a couple friends over. As long as your room isn't a disaster waiting to happen, you should be fine.

Fishing and Cooking... My Journey! ~99 Cooking & New Goals!~
bloodyhatchetbear replied to bloodyhatchetbear's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)I got 80 fishing today.. Going to fish 10k lobs then sell them to get my cash. Once I get those lobs I'm gonna take a small chucnk out of my cooking with the pie stuff I have, then go fish some swordies and tuna for maybe some more potatoes, if I can get the sweetcorn seeds. If not, I can always make more admiral pies. I found that Pest Control is a good way to let off steam, and take a break from skilling. It's fun to me, and the points go towards my strength, which I feel to be good for pretty much any training purposes. So that's where I've been taking my breaks.

Debate Subforum in OT??
Ahh... I didn't see that.... It was a bit old and ressing topics is not my thing...

The British Government's New Law
That's odd that you can buy the ammo online but not the guns themselves. An unloaded gun is useless... they should take the ammo off the internet as well. Just my opinion.
-
The British Government's New Law
I may not live in the UK, but WHAT is so DIFFICULT about registering for something? If you really enjoy using BB guns, then take the time and money to buy the liscence you need, take the time to find a shop, and go do it. I think it's the lack of real commitment to doing something you enjoy that's the issue here. You really don't get it, in all the time I've lived here, I've seen one shop, about 5 hours away from my house and it was shut. I've heard of another shop but I think that shut down and it's 2 hours from my house anywhere. I have no lack of commitment to doing it or I wouldn't pay for the guns and ammo... Well, you may not be able to purchase them online, but you CAN use the internet to actually see if there is a shop nearby. And if I were committed to something, I would travel for that amount of time. I also wouldn't be worried about needing to be registered for it, I would just do it. If the law requires face-to-face purchasing, then any UK-based internet shop for said BB guns will be shut down accrding to the law, which means they would need a physical store.
-
The British Government's New Law
I'd rather have them have to walk into a shop and buy it than have a 15 year old buy one online with his dad's credit card, That proves age and identity, and also keeps known criminals from getting them and using them for other forms of destruction.

Debate Subforum in OT??
I was considering this, and I think we could use a Debate section in the Off-topic section of the Tip.It forums. My only real reason is the fact that I've noticed alot of topics in the OT section end up turning into debates, without really meaning to. If we had a Debates subforum, we could put all those hot issues that call for debates there, and keep it to a good level of maturity. Of course, there would have to be certain rules applied to said forum, such as no flaming, good language, decent arguments as to why you choose the side you do, and above all keeping it mature. Would possibly also need mods who would be willing to close things down if they turned into flame wars, possibly forum mods that can be trusted enough to put out fires if necessary. (NOTE: I am NOT nominating myself as a mod, as I am still fairly new to being active, and I wouldn't trust me if I were you, seeing as to how new I am.) That is all. Also, if anyone else would like to add their opinions on my idea, feel free. After all, it is a suggestion section ^_^

Gender Dysphoria
It's not for you to decide what's right and what's wrong. This person is seeking comfort and solace in what is going on in her life, not looking for people to flame her for her choices. Listening to people who are close-minded about the entire world is not the answer. The transgender help sites are there to HELP people, not to convince people that they are something they are not. I'm not gonna look at a transgender site and go decide "well, I'd better go becaome a guy, it's normal to do that." No, because I know that I am a chick, and I don't feel like I should be a guy. You have to look at individual people, not at society as a whole. Society has gotten it wrong multiple times. This is normal. It's been scientifically proven about transgenders being normal. I would believe science over society any day. By the way, it would be different if it were a multiple personality disorder. THAT is a mental disorder. Not this. One last thing, how old is this Flamecaller person? Stating that people under a certain age are stupid or don't know anything is actually age discrimination.

Man, everybody's dyinnnnnnnn.....
I couldn't agree more. I've lost loved ones in my life... Stepdad (who was better than my real dad tbh) my grandmother(father's side... how he came from such a smart person is beyond me) and my great-grandmother (mother's side). All within a relatively short time period as well. You remember the joys they brought into your life, not the bad things that made them pass on. I hope you manage well, and will see the light there somewhere.

Gender Dysphoria
Unfortunately, being underaged, one would need parental consent to start taking any kind of hormones, so that may be out of the question. So waiting would be the only option at this point.
