  1. As soon as I find my microphone, I will do something. I have Windows Movie Maker, a Windows Recorder, and all kinds of songs for choosing. I do have another question though: does the song have to be in English, or would I be able to use a foreign language? I have a few songs in Japanese I adore singing ^_^

I haven't had Dial-up since AOHell was the big thing... I refuse to use the computer if I have to resort to that. And how exactly does this "cap" thing work? I've never hit a cap on any internet I've ever had, even when I was downloading alot of stuff in under a week. I don't entirely understand it.
  3. Depends what type of diabetes. If you developed it from eating too much, you don't have my sympathy. Try eating healthier, that alone can rid your body of the medical condition. Well, Type 2 can be a bit hereditary, but it can also be caused too. But nevertheless, it's not a matter of asking for sympathy, it's complication. Diabetes complicates medical things for people, and a specialist is very helpful, again, if not needed, in these situations. That's all I'm saying. And diabetes can be controlled very well, but it never leaves the body. At least here in Massachusetts, people can get free health care if they have diabetes. Usually a specialist can help with weight loss/control as well as blood sugar. Yes, even hereditary diabetes can occur later in life without any lifestyle influences. Some women actually get gestational diabetes when pregnant, and it can escalate into full-blown type 2 diabetes from there. It actually happened to my mother, which is why she has some of her issues with weight, although she isn't nearly as bad as some people (she is also extremely "top-heavy" and it would honestly kill her if she lost weight and her health care won't cover "cosmetic surgery" even though it is a health issue, plus she tries to be active but half the time she can't move due to neuropathy + lupus + heart conditions... none of which have anything to do with lifestyle choices.) BTW this does not cover the "average" fat person. Your average fat person is usually below the 300lb mark. (I'm your average fat person, and I'm about 240-ish, but I'm "fat in all the right places" ;) ) This is about your above-average, tip-the-scales, almost morbidly obese person.
  4. I'm going to add something to my first post.... My brother (mentioned in the quote) has absolutely no motivation to lose weight. He gets paid by the US government to sit on his fat lazy behind and play XBox all day. This is why we need more policies like the Airlines have, so that people like my brother have a reason to lose weight. BTW Goddess, I love that one really long post... It makes perfect sense to me... Try scooting around a person that big when he lives with you. (thank gods he moved to Florida.. yay for 1000 miles distance) EDIT - I need to add something. My mother is large. I am large. But my brother is more than double the two of us. If you put me and my mother together, it wouldn't equal my brother. Heredity? I think not.
  5. I recently came across about 200 burnt lobs left noted on the ground. Hooray for Catherby. BTW that's a good place to look for burnt food for all you members out there ^_^
  6. Actually, what's addictive is the caffiene, not the artifical sweeteners... And that whole thing about aspartame causing cancer is false.. it was a fad started because apparently everything causes cancer.. it was a scare tactic. As for me, I prefer Diet Coke. I can't drink any regular colas at all, and Diet Pepsi tastes weird for me.. then again I've been drinking Diet Coe all my life.
  7. See, I agree with them having to pay extra. By having someone too big to fit into one seat pay only the price of one seat, then the airline is losing alot of money. By making them pay for both of the seats they use, then it's all fair. Also, for alot of people, it IS a choice whether or not to lose weight. Read my first post in this thread, and you will understand my point.
  8. To be honest, I think people who do consider it a form of disability to get off their duffs and lose the weight. The reason I say this is because my older brother is a perfect example of this: 5'5", 500lbs, and is now on disability because he as leg problems due to his size. If more people lost the weight to get to a healthier size (I don't mean super-model skinny, but maybe under 250) then these issues would never come up.
  9. I have to disagree with this. You can be the nicest person in the world, always smile, and do everything rght, and still get a customer complaining at you. Dealing with jerks like that is not easy, especially if you know that you did everything in your power to do everthing right. I'm sorry if you think retail workers are "below you". Take your arrogance somewhere else.
  10. Actually, that's not the complete truth. Yes, they were Jewish. But it wasn't completely because he hated the religion. It was actually because most Jewish people only married other Jews. Because of this, it caused alot of hereditary diseases to be passed down, and also inter-family marriage, making other diseases prevalant, i.e. birth defects caused by breeding between cousins. Now, this is not an excuse for a mass genocide. It's just an explanation as to why it was done. Now, if he had made laws saying you can't marry people who were related to you that closely, it would have made more sense to me.
  11. I've never done anything to a customer that was bad... Ok, I take that back. When I worked at the arcade/LAN center, if someone was a jerk about the ticket games, and kept saying "OMG their all broke, I'm never coming back here again" (and usually they come in a week later because they are regulars) I short them on tickets after 'fixing' the game. Other things we used to do: LAN parties, employee DDR competitions, employee Marvel v Capcom competitions. All after hours. Another secret: If you work at a mall, and make friends with food court employees, you never have to pay for food. I was friends with the owner of Sarku and manager from Cinnabon. Yay free food ^_^
  12. I remember when it was all about AOL and dial-up. I still remember my first chat room on AOL, the Pudding Pool. 'Twas fun playing in pudding ROFL
  13. Well, my ideal life would include one major factor: Either owning my own Holistics or "spiritual" bookstore where I would teach theology and other things on the side, or being a Theology professor at some college somewhere. I think owning my own shop would probably be a better idea, because I'd be able to offer the courses at a cheaper price than a college tuition. I would love to have people learn about world religion, looking at it from all sides, not just the biases that each individual religion gives. Other than that, maybe have my own house. If I don't own it, I'd at least have an apartment big enough to have a few reptilian friends around. And maybe teach my fiance to respect the no-legged reptiles.
  14. @randox: I meant my house, not TIF. Oops, should have been clearer. Althoug I would get a bit edgy.
  15. Lol.. If I quit, I'd probably lose weight because I'd actually be able to breath... Too bad quitting would also cause huge problems with everyone here.
  16. I'm going to guess that's a parent you have this conversation with. If it happens every day, that should probably be a hint to not ask "Why?" Accept the "NO" and move on. As for me, this is the stupidest conversation I've ever had. Nub: Want 2 b my gf? Me: No Nub: Why not? Me: Because pixel dating is for n00bs Nub: Wuts a pixel?
  17. Ya know if that actually did work, I wouldn't feel the urge to quit lol :P Me and my mother are both big women and both smoke, and it certainly has done nothing for our weight (although my mother has more of an excuse for being big, a HUGE hernia in her tummy area the size of a softball. not fun. plus diabetes doesn't help the matter)
  18. I'm gonna be honest, I don't know too many regular pot smokers who smoke 8 joints in a day by themselves, even if it's weak.
  19. Born-agains actually are the exception to the rule. I actually knew someone at one point in time who was EXTREMELY atheist. A couple years ago, she converted to Christianity. Just goes to show change happens... ALOT.
  20. Well, alot happened when I went out today ^_^ @Goddess: I was diagnosed at 13 with bipolar disorder. Up until I was 18, I was pretty much a guinea pig for every drug on the market at the time. Some made me lethargic, some made me psychotic, some didn't help at all, and one other made me lactate when I had absolutely no reason to. I went off of everything for a few years, and that's when I started the whole self-medicating thing. I only did it maybe once a month and it kept me from going manic for that amount of time. (I think if it were legal, the last doctor I saw probably would have prescribed marijuana for me, considering he prescribed something quite similar) Another thing, doctors here in the US have to ask if you use illicit drugs by law. If you do use them, they are not allowed to report it to police, by patient-doctor confidentiality laws. Alot of times this effects the decision in your medications. Sounds to me like you had a carpy doctor. @Laura and Noob: You two will be debating this till the cows come home. It seems to me you both have your own opinions on this, and are completely set in your ways. Yes the little things add up, and some people view it as a bad thing for society, some view it as people need to take responsibility for their own actions. I say, you both take a few minutes and look throug each other's eyes. Give it a try, and you might see where the other is coming from. @Deloria: I agree, joints are bad. Especially if they aren't rolled correctly. Plus the water in the bong acts as a natural filter. Final note: I am probably not going to read any of the links, mainly because no matter what side they appeal to, I know all of the information there is to know about the subject at hand. I don't know everything, but I try ^_^
  21. I have to agree with Noob and Deloria on this one. Take any statements made by the DEA with a grain of salt. The reason why they have never done scientific studies is because the government won't allow it. If they would at least allow that, alot of this debating would stop, because then there would be proof. And, I mean, if they can use heroine and opium derivatives in prescription medicine, why the heck can't they use THC in medicine? THC is, believe it or not, alot less likely to make someone develope a dependency than said opiates. Another point I will make. I am a smoker, I have tried to quit several times, and it is hard. That being said, I haven't touched marijuana (which I freely admit I have used in the past) in... at least 4 months. I don't have any cravings for it. If I were to go without a cigarette for a day, I would probably be freaking out. And this is from complete and utter personal experience. (btw, the main reason I used weed was because it was cheaper than paying hundreds of dollars for health care + prescriptions for my mental disorders. And since most market prescriptions don't actually work for me, I think I was a bit justified. I used it for medicinal purposes, and while I did find something that does the same thing that is legal, and have [free] health care now, it does have a bit more side effects. It also does have the effect of not working after a while, the doctor said that.)
  22. Actually, I was one of those people who gave info on one intelligent man, which leads to a group of intelligent people. That being said, it wasn't to just debunk this theory, but also to separate fundamentalists from the majority of Christians. People also seem to be skimming over the fact that in most of my posts on this thread I have stated that I am not a Christian, nor of any Abrahamic religion.
  23. I have one word for you: Hummingbird
  24. And you also realize the gay marriage law in Massachusetts was overturned right? Too many people were against it. Read about what you say before you say. Maybe you'd come off as more intelligent. I've also seen you in other threads. You like to argue. You enjoy ticking people off. To me, and I may be making an assumtion here, you seem like a bigot with an argumentative streak that you can't seem to quell. Does this sound about right?
  25. So, by your generalization, that applies to the whole state of California as well, considering you only used one city as an example. Open mouth, insert foot?
