  1. How many hours did you mage the Rex, SirIzenhime? Did you feel you got the better part of the drops or the worse? Or was it average?
  2. Jebus Bageeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus, I am so stupid. I totally forgot that. And I was thinking in the lines of "omfg, not a single hit over 200, wth is going on :S" Thank you ever so much, haha. <3
  3. I actually use guthix claws+charge, forgot to mention that. But do you think killing Rex and Supreme is more profitable than killing only Rex?
  4. Hey there. I am looking for some advice. My combat level is 133. I have no ovls, no turmoils etc,. I do have access to extremes but that's not relevant at the moment. I don't have money. I don't have claws, godswords, bandos armor, chaotic weps etc... I started playing only a few months ago again. I think I quit around 2007. Hence the missing awesome new stuff. Doesn't justify my bank being only ~55m tho. I have done some questing. I have access to TD, but never been there. As I don't have a unicorn, I think that's not a viable option. So I wanted to do some boss hunting anyway, despite missing all the awesome stuff. I did some DK'ing years ago, and decided to give it a shot. In the old days, it was pretty standard to have a team of 3+. 1 or 2 mages, 2 or 3 people who killed supreme/prime. I decided to solo, and only kill Rex and Supreme, ignoring the Prime. This is my setup: I also have a war tortoise. Filled with brews and super restores. 2:1 The problems I am having: 1) Lasting 50-60 minutes, I only get 30-40 kills. 2) I takes WAY too much time to kill Rex with mage, hitting low all the time and constantly splashing. I need some help tweaking the setup... Gear, amount of pots, and so on. The cost of pots+runes is pretty high. Would it be smarter to just mage Rex, ignoring Prime and Supreme? I would get a lot more kills with this setup, but I think it would be slower. I am at loss, please help me. Thank you. :)
  5. Are you going to use cannon? Because if not, the xp, both for slayer and ranged, is going to be quite slow. I am not 100% sure, but someone said that Chaeldar (the fairy) is best if you want to cannon a lot of tasks. I am range slaying also lately, mainly because I noticed I have over 27m in attack xp, and defence and strength are also maxed, and ranged wasn't. I am using a pretty noobish gear, but so far I am doing just fine. Black hides, glory, runecbow, snakeskin boots, avas ava's accumulator, broad bolts, full slayer helmet, spirit shield(zammy book) (I am poor) :( I take tasks from Kuradal. I range-tank most tasks, and cannon the tasks that I can.
  6. Hah, every year that average herb yield per patch climbs. Last time I tried to give this community a reality check I was bombarded with its 6 herbs not 5! 5 of course being my personal experience time and time again. But, hey glad to see the number is climbing, too bad Jagex actually didn't change the code. What do you call it when somebody claims something is awesome then a few lines later say "its more unfavorable than ever"? I call it a disclaimer for that somebodies opinion. Considering as you see farming herbs a waste of time, I seriously doubt you have conclusive data to support the "5 herbs per patch average" theory. It may very well be 5 for you, and you may have gotten a bit unlucky, but unless you have some data, lets say... 2000 seeds farmed, and 10k herbs picked, then your statement of 5 being the average is not valid.
  7. Don't give ultra bad advice. If you disagree this being bad advice, I will be needing some proof from your part, as many others have proven mathematically that farming herbs(ESPECIALLY torstols) IS very profitable. And it's pretty obvious that farming herbs(5 minutes per run) requires very little effort and time. + it's a cool activity to do in between slayer tasks or really, training almost anything. If you don't like farming, don't give bad advice.

I assume when they quit, you instantly win the game and get the tickets, right?
  9. I've had 3 dead ones before too. Make sure you use supercompost. Get juju-farming pot and scroll of life. Keep farming :)
  10. I am pretty sure nothing happens to the coffers while being f2p? The % might go down but the money wont be used, right?
  11. Autist replied to Tenebri's topic in Help and Advice
Because it is proven to make an average profit of 2k per chest, it is still indeed gambling, but gambling with positive expected value. Your decision to sell them should be based on the fact that you can make more money than 20k(10 keys per trip) in time it takes to run to the chest, loot them and bank them. Not on the fact that you don't want to gamble.
  12. On average, you get an effigy every ~100k slayer xp.
  13. Autist replied to Noxx's topic in Help and Advice
I would suggest putting it on a skill you dislike training the most. For me, it was hunter. I know I know, it may seem like a huge waste for some of you, but I really don't like that intense, tedious, repetetive clicking.
  14. Does anyone know how often you should be getting an Ugune seed from commons? My Hunter level is just 72 and these are the ones that I catch right now. Just finished trapping 200 of those, and 0 Ugune seeds :(
  15. I see people asking how many months levelling up would take all the time. No one can answer these, only you can. It all depends have efficiantly you are playing, and how many hours a day. All you need to know is the average xp/h and how many hours per day you play. As Zaaps said, don't block Aberrant Specters, as even when cannoning them, they usually produce a profit. Great xp, too. If you are not 99 summoning, don't block waterfiends either.
  16. I don't have to look it up, I deal with this term almost daily. I am not entirely sure why you brought up gambling in your post (probably because I mentioned poker?) Sorry, I just need to explain, although the period in my poker career is long over when I felt the urge to explain everyone why poker is not gambling. You seem like a reasonable guy, so I think you will understand this: Poker is played human-vs-human, and as long as you have better knowledge of the game than your opponent, you will win money, at least in the long run. And if you play 16-24 tables of poker at a time online, the long run arrives pretty quickly. You can PM if you have interest in this, and we can discuss it. :) Cheers.
  17. Okay, I see that I may have come off as a bit of a douchebag in my last post. Sorry about that. To clarify: You are indeed not guaranteed to get 630 herbs off of 90 seeds. Heck, you might get stuck with the lower end of variance and only get herbs from 80 seeds out of 100, sometimes. Then, again, sometimes you may get 95, 98, or even 100. Embrace the variance, don't reject it. There is no reason to reject variance in RuneScape, as long as the thing you are doing generates profit in the long run.
  18. lol_wut, you are what we call a "fish" at the poker table. You hear the fish saying sometimes things like "Oh man, I knew I should have folded pocket aces preflop, he had pocket kings and hit the king on the river, fml!" I suggest you look up the term "expected value". You can take a life lesson from this, too: Stop worrying about things that are out of your control, and concertate on things you can do to help you.
  19. The loss you face when they die... I think you are not taking the correct mathematical approach to this. Okay, for the simplicity of this, lets assume that you don't have juju pots nor scroll of life. And lets assume you get 7 herbs per seed. (More like 6.77 if I am not mistaken, but lets take 7.) You buy 100 snapdragon seeds: 60,100x100 = 6,010,000 10% of the seeds die. So, when buying 100 seeds, you get herbs from 90 seeds. 90 X 7 = 630 herbs 630 X 13,000 = 8,190,000 gp 8190000-6010000 = 2,180,000 profit if you buy 100 snapdragon seeds. You buy 100 avantoe seeds: 2000x100 = 200,000 10% of the seeds die. So, when buying 100 seeds, you get herbs from 90 seeds. 90 X 7 = 630 herbs 630 X 3500 = 2,205,000 2205000 - 200000 = 2005000 profit if you buy 100 avantoe seeds. Conclusion: Growing snapdragons yields a marginally higher profit than avantoes. Snapdragons indeed require a lot more money to be invested, but that should really not be a problem, since you only plant 5 seeds per trip, not 100, meaning you can just sell harvested herbs after every trip and buy new seeds. Now, when you add in juju potion, then growing snapdragons becomes a lot more profitable, since you get 33% more herbs per seed. And since snapdragon herbs are worth A LOT more than avantoes, you really shouldn't be growing avantoes. Not to mention you gain more exp from snapdragon picking.
  20. Growing Snapdragons is the best money if you can not grow Torstols with juju potions.
  21. Reading comprehension disorder is actually a serious problem.
  22. Autist replied to Zaaps1's topic in General Discussion
That is a nice post, and you have a way to explain your points. Good job. However, I think you might be mistaken. Being an avid online poker player for years, I have a pretty good understanding how RNG's work. I doubt that Jagex has it's game provided with some cheap-ass RNG which took 15 minutes to write. If Runescape has a similar RNG as poker software has, then I believe your points are not valid, unfortunately. From pokerstars dot com.
  23. I consider your OP a rather short post. Discussion of the inflation in RuneScape on a much wider scale is possible, thus would probably result a more complicated(and a longer) viewpoint. Were you there? You must be really old :o Or did you mean "people who actually listened in the history class" when you said "older people"? :P Anyway, obviously it is something Jagex has been working on for a long time, is working on, and probably will keep working on. I don't believe it will be fixed 100%, but it surely helps.
  24. Ah well, it's your time, do what you feel like. If it's fun for you, then it's cool.
  25. I think everyone should laugh at the stupidity of the people who camp for dragon defenders during the first week or so. Seriously, is your brain damaged? Going out and picking empty bottles from trash would be more productive activity to do.
