  1. I have to ask... what about first degree murderers? You know, the ones who plan the murder before commiting it? Figure out exactly who, how, where, and when before doing it? Would you call that a mistake? And I also have to wonder, how could you not get angry if you lost everyone you loved in life? I've only lost one exceptionally close person, and not to violence, and it hurt. A lot. I know it's extremely unlikely that someone will kill everyone you are close to, but how could you not be angry if it did happen? I'm honestly just curious, not judging you off this. Edit: gonzlar is right in the fact that this should more likely be continued in PMs, so please, any replies to PMs, if you don't mind.
  2. Modern technology? Behind the Scenes is not an update, nor is adding servers. The last update to the GAME CODE was Construction. Official updates are ones which require the whole server to be temporarily taken offline so the code can be refreshed. The last time this happened, as stated, was Construction. I have a possibility of getting a party hat in the near future. However I also know that of the hundreds of party hats in the game (and I can assure you, there are hundreds), a very small amount were lost. From the honest reports I have been able to see, maybe 10 total. Jagex has never cared for the rare market, they never intended for rares to explode in price. To them, each party hat is worth exactly 1 gp, no more, no less. Tell me, why, from their view, would a rollback be logical? Thousands of customers would lose tons of work, some of them losing millions of experience. Others would lose tons of money, and think about he market... all trades since Construction would be reversed. People would lose party hats in the rollback too, I know of people who earned the last few million gp needed for one after the release. Their party hats would suddenly turn into a mound of gold worth significantly less, and they would have to attempt to earn the gold again. Overall, a rollback is illogical for something Jagex views as so minute in the game, and for such a small amount of losses compared to the huge losses players would experience in the rollback. Certainly customers are angry now, but how angry do you think 3 million players (f2p would also require a rollback, of course, because members would have bought things on f2p worlds, and vice versa) would be after a roll back? My guess is a lot more angry than they are now. Edit: Evil BBCode tags
  3. Actually, people who get away with a crime are more likely to become a repeat offender. In addition, some people need to be locked up for the safety of people around them. There are a number of psychological diseases which can result in violent behaviors. That wouldn't fall under justice, more under psychological treatment, but sometimes the two cross the boundary. I hope you're a human too, although that would mean you hate yourself. If someone were to come into your house, do anything from simply stealing some family heirloom to killing all your family members: would you want justice? Would you want the person to have to face up to his actions? Or would you shrug your shoulders and say "Oh, so he killed my whole family, I shouldn't try to get him punished, because two wrongs don't make a right!"?
  4. On the Zezima note, I believe the only skill he was first to get 99 in was Slayer, and even there I'm not 100% sure. And you're right, RS2 is definitely missing the magic spark RSC had.
  5. Durial doesn't appear to be banned. Sk8er, you may say I'm only saying this for sake of being a mod, but I would never want to be able to kill outside wilderness. It would be unfair to get tons of cash by killing players when I'm not supposed to be able to. The generalisation that we would all enjoy it is insulting, since that would be as low as anyone could go, abusing a bug simply for some pixelated paper.
  6. Trying to get people away from that portal is insanity.. I feel like I should have a headache now :?
  7. I *believe* you have them kick you out while you're sitting on it. At least, that's how I sat on a bench outside the portal. I was also once left in the house with the owner being expelled when they expelled guests, but we haven't managed to replicate it since
  8. I do mini-rants on occasion to friends. Meh, congrats again Mat. Glad I made somebody laugh :(

  10. Ah, I see your point... didn't think about them counting pixels :o (I sure don't count them   ) Thanks for pointing that out. Perhaps now that the engine has eliminated a majority of the autoers, they will try slowly reintergrating the essence... I sure hope so.
  11. As many of us know, JAGeX split essence into a p2p version (pure essence), and a f2p version (rune essence), severly harming the economy. Pure Essence miners have constantly pushed the prices of Pure Essence up, and we are currently seeing it being sold at up to 85 gp per essence on RSO. Soon after, Oddfaery2 authored a tip.it times, addressing alternatives to Pure Essence. I'd like to propose a solution which would keep Pure Essence in the game, but allow free players to once again be part of its market, while not allowing autoers the ability to do so. My solution is the ability to purify Rune Essence to make it Pure. This would logically be through some sort of minigame, or even a cooperative effort (such as the blast furnace). One way the game could work: 1. Go to the minigame location, you must enter a PIN code to enter 2. Deposit up to 500 Rune Essence into the Purifier (for lack of a better name) 2. Here it can split between two things: a solo effort, or a multi-person effort, or, perhaps, the capability to do both, just making it harder to do it solo. However, they would all follow the same basic starting steps of: A. Upon deposit, the NPC who runs the minigame comes up, offering to give you a tutorial or allow you to skip it. A way to deter autoers at this point: Have the chat involve three or more options, including "Yes please, I'd like a tutorial", "No thanks, I'd rather skip it", and "I'd like to leave", but have them placed in a random order each time. If the autoer attempts to escape this dilemna by simply clicking in the main game box, he will be approached again, with the options in a different order, until finally he clicks. If he automatically clicks on, say, the top option, 2/3 of the time he will either be kicked out of the game (by choice) or put through an interactive tutorial, which requires him to actually do something. I haven't figured out exactly how the game would work, but it would involve common sense on the part of the player. It would take time to purify essence, but not so much time that it is not worth it either. Likely how hard it would be would depend on how much essence was being purified, so you could purify very little essence at great ease, but the time it took wouldn't make it worth it for large amounts. Perhaps the minigame would be accessed by a quest that takes longer than autoers find it worth. Autoers could trade to their main accounts to do this game, but the goal of autoers, from what I can tell, is to get the essence sold as quickly as possible, not to hold onto tainted items for relatively long periods of time to change it into a more profitable form. Please post constructive criticism, not flaming. I will try to figure out exactly how the game could work, any suggestions are welcomed

Thanks for all the good reviews :) To the people who think I didn't organize the menu well, [if you ever come back to this topic] please explain, I'm sure I could've done better but I'd like to know exactly how you think it could be better. I agree with everyone who thinks the icon is bad, I wasn't sure how to make it, so I tried and failed  Once again, thanks to all :)

Explanation: The 'options' automatically make you type like that. Auto Spam automatically spams (auto-typer spewing out random stuff). Trash Talk targets someone and says something bad about them constantly (in this case, Bob07070's character's Trash Talk backfired and he Trash Talked himself  ). Trade Spam is relatively obvious, as is Begging, both targeting people. Amount of 1337speak changes how much "1337" is used in the auto messages, while Level of Stupidity compounds on that to make them seem even stupider.

No, because I'm the mod in the center being tortured by the OTHER people using the menu

Mods, is it illegal for me to have crown there? I can edit it out if necessary, just would've taken even more time...

  20. I was supporter 98 ages ago, and I like the new one even better :D I was amused to see all of the costumes in the Fishing/Cooking are in the "link items" pic  Even better idea than before, keep going, and I hope you've sent this in to JAGeX :D
  21. RuneCrafting :) Almost 71 now
  22. Edit: I just saw that the debate ended, apparently I missed that post when reading... so just ignore everything said below.. And then there's the people like me who just wish to focus on the task at hand... I have public on friends/off when doing something I'd like to concentrate on, for example RuneCrafting. I for one would rather not have people asking me questions on my way to/in the abyss, and, though it happens rarely, it does happen. I don't think everyone is below me, but I'm not a fan of all the 'noob' calling, and, even though I generally don't talk to anyone, public IS on when I'm not concentrating on anything in particular. Both sides of the arguement have taken the extreme views for their end. Lime has stuck by his point that anyone who thinks everyone is below them is a jerk, Chris has stuck to his point of being the exact opposite of Lime. The middle ground is simply that some people like privacy, want to do what they're doing. There is no right way to play an MMORPG, even if it means Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, people don't have to interact. I gain most everything I need on my own, because I dislike the concept of buying levels. I think no less of people who DO buy levels, I just want my levels to be my own product. I know I'm going way off my original topic here, but I'm just trying to say that both of you are right, you shouldn't think everyone is below you, but you don't have to interact if you don't want to. I'll stop now...
  23. The reason I enjoy RuneScape is because there are no classes. Classes are common, go to any number of other games and you'll find them. I like how RS is evenly set, you make yourself, instead of having a class benefit the only skills you intend to raise anyway (for all-around-ers, there's still going to always be a better class, this just makes it all easier for people).
  24. I think it was more your posting tons of ideas with one sentence telling how awesome the idea was and not explaining anything, all in separate topics when they could've been in one, but I digress. Why not just use protection prayers to get past a creature? In wilderness they can hit through protection, but wilderness taints all prayer (or is supposed to), so the invisability would also be tainted in the wild. I see no reason for this prayer, as it is basically identical to protection prayers with the exception that you're still visible... Why use a prayer that takes the place of food? This serves basically the same purpose as Rapid Heal, except at an accelerated rate. A ring of recoil that stops you from being hit? I hope it requires 99 prayer, because in 20 seconds, the combined hits from the opponent and your own hits could easily decimate whoever was attacking you. Why make prayer into magic? A prayer to make magical attacks more potent might make sense, but a prayer that acts as an attack is completely out of the current use for prayer. Prayer barely relates to combat when it comes to timing, prayers are constant while attacks take time. This 'prayer' would be much more efficient as a spell, but you could just use a normal spell for the same purpose. I think if you have any more ideas, it would be nice if you put thought into them. I don't mean that the above ideas were made up with no thought, I mean to put in the dynamics of how the idea works. That was your problem with your other ideas. You don't simply post "I think a flying pumpkin of doom would own", you post "I think a flying pumpkin of doom would own because it would enable people to... blah blah blah blah". I know you said not to mention your other ideas, but you need to understand that the reason people disliked them is because you offered little to no explanation, posted numerous topics when you only needed one, and basically ignored everything this forum is meant for. These ideas were explained more clearly, but still seemed to be simply basics, which really doesn't help. They also severely unbalance the whole combat system of RuneScape, so I doubt they'd be added in.
  25. Take a deep breath, hold it for 5 seconds, exhale, then click the nice red X at the top right corner of your screen... Stop posting new ideas every few seconds. If you're so full of ideas, put them all in one big topic labelled "Ideas for RS" with well thought out explanations of each, instead of one or two sentences on how awesome your idea is. In addition, please use the search function, if not to bump old topics, to see how quickly some topics related to yours have fallen thanks to criticism, and try to address those criticisms in your post.
