  1. Yay for agility! Good job on the Fishing, go finish up now :D
  2. ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã17k Per year is more like it, just look at their corporate site...
  3. SaidinWoT replied to Masuma's topic in Off-Topic
Good luck Steve! I will pray for you!
  4. And on the updates, yes, they could use more checking, but they're trying to keep customers. It's hard being the owners of a popular game...
  5. Sorry... double post..
  6. I second that ! i third it =D> if people want to quit they can quit. They dont have to keep playing just because they are on the high scores for your amusement make that a forth \ make it a fith ^.^ \ no make it a 6th Wheres this up to... Oh yeah. I make it a seventh. I eighth it :o And.... because I'm bored... I ninth it!
  7. This would be worse, not better. It means not only would you have to enter it when you logged on, but, if you stayed on for more than 2 hours, a second time to stay on, and possibly a third, and maybe even a fourth (And for some people possibly even a fifth, sixth and even seventh  )
  8. That's the results of 18/19 days, depending on when money was taken out of the coffers. Approval went from 100 to 85 over the course of 15 days because I wasn't here to bring it up, but the last 3/4 days it was constantly at 100. Which herb was which: 220 Harralanders 140 Irits 58 Lantadymes 68 Kwuarms 126 Avantoes 218 Tarromins 66 Ranarrs 76 Cadantines 80 Dwarf Weeds The seeds from the nests: No spirit tree seed for me :( I outlined the seeds because I was under the impression that herb seeds came only with flax, but I was gathering 100% Herbs, 50% Maples, no flax... With a total of 1052 herbs and 10 herb seeds, perhaps it's 100:1 Herbs to Herb Seeds?
  9. I have started over twice. I quit completely at rs2 release, made a new account in December 2004 (SaidinWoT, only current active account). Then, more recently (About September 2005?) I "started over" by playing RSC on SaidinWoT also (albeit rarely). No one helped me on either time, so, yes, I know what it's like
  10. Looks like you scrapped the support list (or maybe I'm blind :D ), but original supporter #97 still supports this VERY much!
  11. Er... in my defense I never actually read the text when editing it! (I'm being honest here). Blaziken, do you have MS Paint? Because all that editing was done there; I can't afford PhotoShop either.
  12. Okay, I'm not trying to put your fakes down, I'm simply showing how it's easy to improve the quality without much effort. I first copied your "Knight drops whatever" into paint 30 minutes ago. Since then, the past 30 minutes have been spent like so: 3 Minutes logging on, opening bank, getting items 2 Minutes taking reference pics 4 Minutes correcting "Take Dragon Full Helmet" Text 6 Minutes talking to random friends on RS 3 Minutes hunting down a friend with d med for a reference pic (authenticity always helps) 4 Minutes recoloring a Rune Full Helm 4 Minutes moving around text in text box so it all lines up properly 2 Minutes checking the pic for any more errors 2 Minutes saving and uploading the pic That totals up to one half hour, and I was keeping track. It's now more like 40 minutes because I've been typing this up and chatting to a number of friends. Again, I'm not trying to insult your work: I don't consider it great, but it's not bad either
  13. I have a life too, it doesn't take that long to change the shading on a small part...
  14. Er... When talking to an NPC the font is different... talk to any NPC in the game. None of them are cleanly done, and a lot of the ones involving fake items (or beards) appear to have little effort put into the shading, or even the drawing. Some of them are very good ideas, they just need more effort than you put into them. I'm a stickler for clean fakes, so...
  15. Okay, I was bored/insane/weird enough to actually make pics of these spells: Overall I think most ideas are pretty good, but they'd need some tweaks to keep it fair.
  16. I believe Jagex once said they'd have to reset the whole game to change the level structure... maybe my memory's just making things up though...
  17. See NukeMarine's post about 10 Days of it, it has all the details (currently the topic below this one).
  18. "How is my Kingdom Faring?" -> "Blah blah, would you like to collect?" -> "No" -> "This is how your workers are distributing their efforts." Then just change like normal.
  19. I'll be on vacation for 2 weeks, so I'm starting a 20 day experiment. With 100% herbs, 50% maples, and an overall average of 90% approval (since I won't be able to put it up to 100% approval daily), I should end up with ~1090 herbs, ~8020 maples, and ~80 nests. The main point of this experiment, though, is to see how the herbs are spread out. Unless, of course, you already know how they're spread out (still want those herbs though). Results from a smaller experiment: 20 Tarromin 16 Harralander 4 Ranarr 16 Irit 16 Avantoe 8 Kwuarm Unknown Number of the remaining 3 herbs
  20. From day one, the owner has only had to let his guests in. After, he can leave however he wants and his guests will remain. I do not view this as a bug, but a feature. It allows a player with advanced construction to let in a friend to use what is in his house, and then the player can leave again. Otherwise, the player would have to be there the whole time, not necessarily with something to do, which would be pretty annoying, I'd think.
  21. Yes, I meant to say "rares are not the economy"... great that I typed up a long post at midnight then forgot a word that changed its entire meaning!
  22. Joined at combat 16, but I had a previous f2p account on which I learned how to play the game (level ~38 when I quit).
  23. Simple summary of your post: For rares are the economy: Based on usefulness, not collectability For rares are an outlet: The money is transferred Now, to reply in more simple statements: First of all, I will agree that rares are not the entire economy. The sales of rares make up a small percentage of the daily sales. Now that's one way to look at it, here's another: There are significantly less rare items at any given time than, say, Rune Platebody (random item). Rune Platebodies are produced daily, and can be purchased from a stock supply to bring even more into the daily trading. Logic follows that there are a lot more of them to trade, and a lot more trades involving them will occur on a daily basis. In addition, some people purchase rares for the purpose of keeping them to display their wealth, drawing more out of the stock available for daily trading. As such, I would expect significantly less trades involving rares than Rune Platebodies, and would find items such as Rune Platebodies to be a much larger part of the economic balance in terms of how often money changes hands based upon them. This would be true of any number of items in the game, because there are so many of them, they are traded more often. As such, yes, rares are not the entire economy; it is much more complex than simply the rares. However, they are still a part of it. Onto part number two: Alchemy brings in millions per day. This money has to go somewhere. The "alchers" proceed to buy something from the below list, and then the money they paid is passed on when used to purchase something else. Now, at each transaction, it can go to a number of places: *Rare Items *Consumables *Skill Raising Items *Alternative Displays of wealth (i.e. Dragon Hatchet) *Semi-Permanent belongings (i.e. Armor intended to be kept) We'll address it from bottom up: Semi-Permanent belongings - A one-time deal, or multiple times depending on how often you lose these items (such as dieing while slaying, etc.) These are usually intended to be kept for a while for constant use, and, as such, the same player will not constantly buy this item over and over (unless they're really unlucky with those monsters...) Alternative Displays of wealth - Very much like rares, except they have another function in the game (such as the Dragon Hatchet being able to cut trees). However, they are simply much more expensive versions of something which can do exact same thing (Dragon Hatchet = Rune Hatchet in woodcutting ability). Skill Raising Items - These items will raise a skill, and then, likely, the result will either be "alched" or sold; if "alched", more money will be brought in. Vicious cycle, isn't it? Consumables - Generally the end product of a skill, such as runes, arrows (somewhat), food, logs (if burned), etc. Rares - I doubt we really need a definition of what happens when rares are sold, since you obviously showed exactly how it's done... Now then, in all of my examples, I'm assuming they pay another player for an item. This isn't always the case, they can buy things from stores in the game, taking out a bit of money compared to the money brought in. However, a LOT of the money will go to player-player transactions. In each case, money changes hands. As you stated it, Player A transfers money to Player B. Now what is Player B to do with it? Why, of course, invest it in one of those 5 items or buy something from a shop! So, yes, rares are an outlet for players with lots of money. It allows them to transfer money to each other for something that represents value. Then, yes, they can spend that 250 million gold pieces from your hypothetical situation on something else. But then that gold is simply spread in a number of hands instead of concentrated. It's all still there, though, until someone in that long chain buys something from a store, the only real money sink in the entire game (I consider NPCs such as the Sawmill Operator to be stores selling a product for gp AND supplies). In closing, you're right, rares are not the entire economy, though they are an alternative outlet for players with lots of money, no matter how you look at it. GP will always change hands, in every transaction not done with a store. You're just worried about when it gets up into the hundreds of millions and it's just not logical (to you). Forgive me for any convoluted logic, it's been a long day  BBCode is evil I tell you! Evil!  Edit: Fixing the error that made my conclusion contradict the rest of my post :)
  24. Okay, I'm going to play a fun little game. This wonderful little game is called "Rearrange a post"! Woot for fun games!
  25. Rebdragon has asked me to post that he was banned from tip for one week for his arguement with n64jive in the Durial interview topic, which is why none of you will see him around.
