  1. I thought Jeremy Irons in The Lion King playing Scar was very cleverly evil, very good.

I may as well just post what i put in How2pk's last movie you saw thread: What a film. It really was brilliant, so much more than just the high budget action flick that many people expected. The CGI was fantastic, completely engaging and there were some spellbinding fight/action scenes, not just with Kong but with the other characters. The brachiosaurus chase scene was totally brilliant and the Kong fight scene with the 3 T-rexes has to be one of the most well co-ordinated CGI scenes ever. The love story was tragic and wholly believable, and the scenes where Ann was entertaining Kong and the ice skating scene were truly touching. The acting and casting were brilliant, and the casting of Ann was inspired, she was 100% right for the part. I went to see this film with a couple of friends, and normally i don't mind a bit of banter in the middle, but with this i was telling them to shutup when they were talking and laughing through some of the more touching scenes. Bravo Peter Jackson, 10/10

Good on her for enjoying her retirement and having that spirit still. She rocks! :)
  7. I don't see what all the fuss is about. Sure, i voted for the Godfather but LOTR really isn't that bad. In fact it's a fantastic film, just not the best. I just wish everyone wouldn't jump on the *bash the LOTR film because it's recent* bandwagon. It really was a great film, just maybe not the best. Thanks for all the hard-work on this topic Phil, it's been greeeeaaaatttt! :D

Teehee, i beat it :P I was guessing a power boat, and it disagreed with me on a number of things. Steering wheel, Pertrol Engine heats up There aren't that many police boats about. :D
  9. The Gladiator soundtrack is really powerful, and i always thought the LOTR soundtracks really suited the atmosphere of the films as well.

I got 100% on Vice City because i always really wanted those bodyguards (turned out to be not very good but meh). I tried for 100 on San Andreas but never made it, i found the street races and the fire truck missions too frustrating. It's an ongoing work though, i still play on it a fair bit. Never got GTA3, but i think i will.

R.I.P. Tookie, the American justice system has failed once again. :( Anybody who is going to disagree with this, think about it, the death penalty is supposed to be used as the ultimate deterrent, so if a man who campaigned against violence after being there himself and made a difference get's killed, what message does that send out to the next generation? They don't care about you whatever you may do after. They live in the moment, with no regard for change.
  12. LOL! So if he did cry he must of had a verrrry sticky face :P
  13. Bubsa you can have the DB9, just watched Top Gear and...what a car :D It really does make every other car look inadequate somehow, i still love the Aston but that Bugatti is simply astonishing. For all of you Top Gear buffs there is a rumour that i read in the magazine that when the Stig drove it back to the factory in Italy he broke down and cried when he handed the keys over because he knew he'd never drive another car like it. When i first read about that car I joined in with the rest of the motoring world and laughed along at that ridiculous notion of a car. I chuckled as I read about the failed testing and the spiralling costs. But I have to hold my hands up and admit i was wrong. The people who were right along were the little schoolboys who loved the superlative and craziness of it. They were the ones who never stopped believing and posted pictures of it on their bedroom walls. And they were right, it really is as incredible as it sounded to be.
  14. Turns out my sister was staying 3 miles down the road from where it happened  She heard the initial blast at 6amish, it pretty much woke everyone up but being typically her she dozed off again and didn't hear the other blasts. She was fine but apparently the plume of smoke was ginormous.
  15. Has anyone ever told you that you are a genius? Anyone who disagrees with this guy are either mentally handicapped, haven't played it, or have the worst taste in games this side of San Fierro. This game also has so much style, so much to do...I've said it all before... Well...I... :D I'm right you know though, it may be mature for some tastes but it really is a fantastic game with a capital fantastic. It has pretty much everything, the storyline, the humour the depth the attention to detail the music and the reality. It's pretty much the only old game that I still play regularly on the PS2, the only thing missing would be a mission repeat system, because those missions really are kick-[wagon].
  16. Oh My God. x 2 Methinks a cure for every known disease could have been come up with if that guy had put his mind to it compared to...that

  18. The Chronicles Of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. A jolly good thoroughly British movie and whatnot :) Very enjoyable, when i went into it a thought i might be disappointed with Aslan being a CGI character but there can't of been any other way, and you soon got used to the whole CGI thing since half the other characters were. The acting was good, the children could have been taken straight out of 1940's war time Britain, and they all looked remarkably alike. Lucy began to slightly bug me with her eternal innocence and i felt almost that she kind of held everything back from being just a bit more sinister. But i guess it was very much true to the book. The fight scene was slightly disappointing, whichever critic said it rivalled some of LOTR ones was wrong, but it was very good for a PG. 8/10, although I couldn't help thinking throughout about King Kong, it really does look AWESOME, i'm going to see it next weekend with some friends, i can't wait. :D Favourite quote? "We're not heroes, we're from Finchley" :P
  19. Highly unlikely to be a terrorist attack. It's just now whenever the media hears the words "explosion" and "big" they think "Al-Queda" or whatever. i hope everyone is okay :(
  20. I think a lot of the new male solo artists like James Blunt will be remembered in time. And the indie type bands like Franz Ferdinand, the Kaiser Chiefs etc.
  21. Yeah it's a special song, i love the way it changes through the song, slowly evolving and the guitar solo is perfection.

"An excuse for wannabe goths to be depressive"...meh i don't like the music for a start, and the suicidal messages it sends out shouldn't be targeted at an audience, they should be discovered by those who want to be discovered.
  23. He remade King Kong, and it's getting fantastic reviews, it really is.
  24. Well, after a lot of deliberation i went for the Godfather. I loved the LOTR series, i really did but the ROTK on it's own just can't be called the greatest film ever. It needs to be taken with the other three, but i still love it. The Godfather is probably the better film, but the greatest? I don't think so. Shawshank or The Green Mile would have been in the final if i had had my way.
