  1. You're beginning to sound remarkably like one of the most hated dictators the world has ever seen. How do you explain Iraq then? I agree that cigarettes are wrong, but I don't have really have a problem with people that smoke, it's their life, just as long as they don't smoke around me; but alchohol? Are you not old enough to drink yet or simply mad? What's wrong with sociable drinking? What's wrong with drinking with a few friends and having a good time? As for all your other points of view about how anyone who hates the war hates everyone involved let me use a famous quote: "Love the soldiers, hate the war" I bet half the people fighting in Iraq didn't sign up purely to go there, they were probably signed up before the war started. At the moment you don't really sound patriotic, just idiotic. Some of the greatest war generals America has ever had disagreed with Iraq, i know at least one that resigned over it. And left Japan with decades of genetic mutations and killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people, not soldiers. Oh no but wait it saved a few Americans so that makes it okay. Why drop two? One was enough.
  2. I think you forgot to add to that list trying to initiate conversation with the suspected autoer. I know a lot of people AFK fish but it's just one more screening process to make sure that people aren't unfairly reported.
  3. Having a bit of a film day today, since it's been a busy week Leon What a fantastic film, brilliant acting by Jean Reno and extroadinarily good acting from Natalie Portman for someone so young at the time. It really was remakably touching, I loved it.
  4. All Along The Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix It's played with such confidence it's breathtaking.
  5. Yep some people actually care what others think of em. ":P" Are you trying to be some sort of tough guy rebel here? It's an internet forum spawning off a roleplaying game, take your attitude down to some smoky bar or something where it belongs, and then make enemies with people who could whoop your wagon, not here. Back on topic, are they actually any good? Worth buying? Or just overated.
  6. The Graduate This is my dad's favourite film and he's been bugging me to watch it for ages. What a classic American comedy! Dustin Hoffman was brilliant, and i loved all the music from it. A great film with a really nice happy ending, and some absolutely hilarious parts.
  7. I think a swear word is called such because it has another meaning. They're basically slang for already quite rude/dirty/unclean words. A lot of words considered swear words say 50 years ago, are pretty much acceptable now. Who knows, in years to come we may be using the "f" word in everyday conversation, or we may not. I don't have a problem with swearing, unless it's overly excessive and completely out of place. Like Madonna at Live 8, it just didn't work, and sounded...wrong.
  8. Quite shy with people i don't know, talkative with ones i know I can get on with anybody in my year really, and anybody in general. I'm very easy going and chilled out, and try not to get too worked up about stuff. I can be lazy, but only when forced into things, i can be quite motivated.
  9. Ahhhh duct-tape....is there anything it can't do! :D Don't answer that
  10. Krusty the Clown: "and hire me Kenny G to play in my elevator!"
  11. Some girls find a bit of stubble quite sexy, some don't, it's all down to the girl.
  12. I love spicey curries, especially if i have a cold, they really clear my nose. But i don't like food too spicey that i drink so much water that i'm up all night going to the toilet.
  13. I wan't to know who the best man was, Flipper? sorry i've been waiting to use that kind of joke for years But seriously, a dolphin? Is she mad? Why not just stay friends? The novelty will probably wear off when it gets to the honeymoon night :P Which i could make another bad joke about, ie. the location, the maldives!
  14. Having an army is not only because you want to fight. It's also there to cause "fear". No country will attack against you if your army forces are so strong that they'd have to pay a huge price for conquering your country. Look at USA and the Soviet Union during the cold war: Both hated each other and had their nuclear weapons pointed to each other's major cities, but no one dared to press the button. It would have cost you too much as the other side would have pressed the button too. Fear is also a major factor why muslim countries at the near-east haven't attacked against Israel for decades. I don't see Iraq or Afganistan as a real fight against terrorism or for human rights. It was just purely money making. Sure, both cost a lot, but yankee weapon manufactors made billions, same with those who came to rebuild those poor countries. Not to mention oil. Oh yeah i realise armies are necessary, and I couldn't imagine a world for a second. I certainly don't think they should all be abolished or anything of the sort. I was simply saying that at the moment it's not like we have wars really worth fighting. I'm not saying there won't be, it's just I think Iraq is a pathetic excuse to go to war. Hell I've even thought of joining the army at times. Because playing war games really shows you what the real thing is like  when i see those games and thoses movies and documentaries about military planes.... im getting pretty jealous i am not able to do that  It's nowhere near as glamarous as the movies make it seem. We'd all like to fly planes like in Top Gun but if you think it's going to be like that you are SERIOUSLY mistaken. It's real pal.
  15. I have no qualms with the army, but at the moment in the world I can't see anything really worth fighting for. Iraq and Afghanistan are ridiculous, if it really was a war against terrorism why bomb innocents? Special forces could take out rebel terrorist cells without all the "shock and awe". As for the army, it's not easy, at all. Especially if you get called up. Not one man who has seen the face of a battlefield wishes to see another. There are no real Rambo types in real life, there are heroic men but they do what they have to do. If I was called up to fight for my country against a just cause I would. WW2 is an example of what I would view as a just war. Fighting against a dictatorship in a middle eastern country that really doesn't have anything to do with us isn't. I prefer to think of an armies role in the world to protect, and enforce the peace.
  16. Share! True friends can't be bought.
  17. I've never been bullied myself in life but i have sorted out quite a few bullies for my friends and other people. I agree almost completely with what Barihawk said, try not to encourage them with half-hearted responses, if you wanna make a verbal comeback make sure it's a good one, otherwise keep your head held high and they'll look the idiot. I don't agree with uncalled for violence, but if it's physical bullying give like for like. A powerful well aimed blow can end any potential long drawn out fight and make you look far superior, without leaving any long term damage on the bully. Stay cool, and stay on your feet. Try and throw them off balance. Protect your face as much as possible, block blows with your arms and shoulders. Maintain a superb agressive balance. Don't be intimidated by height, the tall trees fall the hardest. Don't kick them when they're down, and you'll walk away the victor, physically and mentally.
  18. I think looks help initially, confidence doesn't always matter, some girls go for the shy types, they often turn out to be the most committed, caring and interesting.
  19. Aaaaahhh my friend does the best impression of the "wafer mint" scene.
  20. I actually love U2, really nice un-offensive easy music to listen to. Greenday are fine, but I hate the way they still call themselves a "punk" band.
  21. Really? I felt that the Gladiator soundtrack was one of the most effective. Especially the song "And now we are free" I don't know which song was at what moment in the movie. But the music I didn't like was that kind of epic sound with those woman humming that makes it sound all mysterious and so. It's way overdone and makes it sound so empty, they've done it at various important scenes. One of them was at the death of his wife and son. Ah...that was the bit I meant :( I guess it's down to how the music moves you personally, for me it really did.
  22. I think the cannon studded song, For Those About to Rock (we salute you), is nice intro to the album of the same name by AC/DC.
  23. Really? I felt that the Gladiator soundtrack was one of the most effective. Especially the song "And now we are free"
  24. Can any of you AC/DC fans recommend what you think is their best album? I'm looking to buy some of their stuff but don't want to buy loads of albums to get the right mix. Which would you say was the best for an AC/DC noob? :P
