  1. 90 trips in, skirt obtained with this method (I did get the top earlier by killing 6-7 brothers). Going to continue doing this for further results. Only thing that my theory doesn't explain is how on earth some people have reported multiple Torag's legs from one chest, for instance. In my theory that would be impossible unless they used the duplicate brother glitch for Torag while only having killed 4 brothers before that. Or, each brother actually has 2 drops and odds for each of them being a barrows item is like 1/200.
  2. Ah, of course you're correct. I think I'll go for 160ish chests to get around 0.8 probability to get an Akrisae piece, and if I don't get it I'll just stop trying. 60 trips so far, no items (I don't have that much time to play right now).
  3. OK, so we have the information that killing exactly 6 of the brothers yield a barrows item in once about every 12-18 runs. My question is how each brother contributes to this? My assumption is (just because that's how I'd code it) that each brother drops a piece of his armour at a 1/100 rate. Killing 6 brothers, this'd create a 3/50 drop rate, fitting into the known average. My personal goal is to Barrow myself an Akrisae's set, and under my assumption it would seem pointless killing any other brothers but him. Prices of the pieces are just not worth it. I need people to examine my assumptions: Do some runs only killing 1 brother and post your results. Or just prove me wrong. Also, it's rather interesting how the JMod said that killing the 7th brother does not increase the odds at all. They could've just coded an exception for this to prevent abusing the old "7th brother glitch", which now as I think about it, is actually pretty sensible reason for this. I'll start with 30 runs of killing Akrisae and Akrisae alone: 0 drops. EDIT: Stopping this experiment at 2480 Akrisae killed with 12 drops.
  4. Original 2001'er reporting here too. This account I started in the fall of 2001, the original (long abandoned) one in February.
  5. You'll find that you won't really need all those 4 prayer potions. 2 should be enough, turmoiling all the time. Also, wouldn't a berserker ring (i) help? Otherwise looks pretty perfect to me.
  6. I guess I'm only missing the Flagstaff and random junk like war ship. You mention it's possible to get both golden cracker and hammer banked. How?
  7. It'd be utterly silly to not have a formula. Not to mention that it's extremely improbable as the exp gains seem so consistent. It's just a question of finding out what affects the exp as there seems to be many hidden factors to it.
  8. I haven't got to play because the first thing that I was supposed to do was checking the health of my palm trees. Before the weekend I checked that they take 14+ hours to grow. So, I planted them like 16 hours before the weekend starting. I'm still waiting for them to grow, and it's been 33 hours from planting! I don't want to waste the bonus for anything else before they're done. It must've got diseased at like every stage. My luck fails :(
  9. Nope. To my perception, the golden days are generally seen running to the end of 2001 or so.
  10. How the hell have you gotten a copy of The Soundhouse Tapes? If it is real, how have you been able to afford it? It costs a crapload of cash. I know there's an enormous amount of pirated copies of it, which looks the same. But if that really is one of the originals - Nice! ------ I'm surprised to see so many newly registered people/with so few posts, posting a picture of themselves the first thing they do. It is real. Bought it from eBay more than a year ago, and was kind of surprised that it truly was the real deal. I'm an avid Iron Maiden collector. And working makes you money. Wow, Soundhouse Tapes outa nowhere! If you don't mind, how much did it cost? Over $500.

  12. Here's me: I won the gown from an Iron Maiden competition and they wanted a picture of me with it, so I thought I'd share it with you guys too. The 7" EP in the background is Maiden's first ever release, btw. Not many have it :) Go ahead and index it if you wish.
  13. I don't hide it in any way. I can't understand why so many are so adamant about not revealing it. It's like "I wouldn't ever imagine telling people I like my pancakes with strawberry jam more than raspberry jam". It's a computer game, for Guthix's sake.
  14. I play on an old PC. If I was f2p (which I'm not), I couldn't play at all when those fancy flash ads come to play. Sure, reducing the quality helps a bit but it'd still be a very unpleasant gaming experience. I have nothing against good ads (gif ads etc.) that don't eat up 99% of my processing time. So yes, in my opinion the rule and/or the ads need tweaking.
  15. I don't understand? EDIT: I see what you mean now. For all those who don't understand: Take each of the letters, and look at the key to the left of them on your keyboard. EDIT2: I did the same with the letters he signed off with and I got: zfkl qjqbqvej Mean anything to anyone? You got it wrong, the signature was the key to understanding the puzzle in the first place. Quite obviously, the signature forms "Chaos Elemental". (This time you pick the letters from the right.)
  16. I'm surprised that no-one mentioned the solution to "anagrams" yet, as they practically gave them away in the signature and key hint. Just look at your keyboard and compare and you get "new desert quest" and "new Myreque quest".
  17. I'd like to see you coding 99 or 100 different levels with 2 bits. (A bit only has the possible values 0 and 1, after all.) I think what you meant was 2 digits in base 10 notation.
  18. I don't agree. If they want to grow, they probably should do a country that has a big potential player base that is yet not playing. What I mean is that they could get a lot of more players if they did a language whose speakers did not play RuneScape before.
  19. I was wandering down to the Al Kharid desert and I think it was the scorpions that attacked me. Luckily I had someone to cover my back and he did the "Fear" spell to save me. This inspired me to train my evil magic as it seemed so powerful. I never got to that high evil magic lvl, though. Golden times. This was early 2001. (The Fear spell was removed very quickly as it was possible to do all kinds of unfair things with it.)
  20. No. If you reach the limit it says your storage houses are full and it won't drain any money.
  21. Wow, that is the message about storerooms I was talking about earlier. I should get it again in a few months' time too :)
  22. Has anyone noticed how easy it is to exit to the safe area, the room next to the Beast? A team could consist of some lunar healers, some food runners and the fighters. When someone needs health, just step out and let the healers heal. It's so nice to have a completely safe room just next to the boss.
  23. No, it ain't related to sexism any way. Why are some of the people saying that the skirt weighs less? They have exactly the same weight in RuneScape.
  24. On the day the quest was released I got the 4 quest notes from dried zombies. After quest I killed them for about 1 more hour, but didn't receive a single note. Then went downstairs to kill Scarabites and got them all fairly quickly. And I did this without prayer, just stayed away from the mages. They hurt.
  25. About getting notes after the quest: Zombies, mummys and skeletons ain't good for this. I've slain hundreds without a single note. Then I went back downstairs and got very many notes, almost like half of the kills (I killed the lancers). EDIT: Seems like the notes are getting rarer and rarer. Anyone who have finished got similar experience? EDIT2: Killed very many for nothing, then realised that my book was complete. It only has 19 paragraphs in the "Found in the Depths" part. Are you sure about those 22 pages? You can store the book in your house's bookshelf.
