  1. I've done this for 13 days now. 1st Day, I recieved 458k worth of items, and a blue egg. 2nd Day, I recieved 420k worth of items, and a green egg. 11 Days later, I recieved 5450k worth of items, and a red egg. Soo, at the cost of 75k per day, and the 2 minutes to teleport there and rake some weeds, I found that it was a fantastic way to make money, all because of this guide. I had 10 on fishing, and 5 on maples. If you can go without the 750k daily, and WAIT AT LEAST 10 DAYS before removing your resources, I find this is a fantastic way to make money.
  2. It's a fantastic way to make money. I find 10 on fish, 5 on maples to be the most profitable. Not counting bonuses, flax is more poriftable than maples, but I'm averaging 75k a day in tree seeds. Thats 125k profit a day.
  3. I did it in the low 60s, and right before I threw the doll into the well, I decided to log out and try again in the morning. Why didn't anybody tell me the UP wasn't coming in with RS2 #-o

I can speak to the fact that it's random, as I collected 1500 tokens expecting to struggle, and I got my rune within 250! Only bronze - steel were with a ring of wealth, as I figured a warrior/zerker ring would be more use to me
  5. Lewis, rather than complain, why not use magic? If you know they are wearing decent armour, why risk meleeing if you aren't 100% sure? I don't really think F2P deserves much extra new content, but I don't see why they can't have a few things that already exist in the game. Like allowing them a few extra crossbows. Even if they have to buy them off members, it's still better than nothing. Or, allowing them specials on corrupted dragon weapons. Or access to spells in the book that only require F2P runes as long as the meet all the other requirements. Or how about a few little updates rather than big mini games, like different kinds of fish to keep baiting & luring worthwhile. Runescape membership here is pretty good value. It's something like $8.20 AUD. Minimum adult wage here is $15.70, which means 15s and under have a minimum wage of $7.85. Going to the movies would cost you $12. I know what I prefer :)
  6. Thats probably the biggest load of cabbage I've ever seen/heard in my life, and I work with drug addicted teenagers. If ANYBODY can PROVE to me that F2P players cover every single one of their own expenses, not only will I buy you membership cards for the next 5 years, I'll fly to your country of residence and kiss a ring on your hand.
  7. It explains what he thinks. I personally think that thread is rubbish, and that pures are very outdated. Most pures are elitists, and that doesn't exactly help the RS community. Anyway, a lot of your choices don't make any sense at all. I think you just want to be a pure, even though it seems your aiming for a very balanced character. I like your stat choices though :) I think you'd go down great in F2P worlds
  8. Love the Eee. CS 1.6, Runescape, Duke 3D, Commander Keen, Jazz jackrabbit, Skunny, the works!! And it's so small I can even fit it in a hoodie pocket if need be :) Just, for the love of cabbage, DON'T try and install pro-tools on it.
  9. Is it just me, or did you think "hypocrite" when you saw that? Why are you fighting so close to a safe zone if you don't plan to use it yourself?
  10. 10/10! Achievements are based on personal goals, so what right do I have to rate you any lower! You deserve all 10 :)
  11. Not everyone has or wants 70 defence though, and not everybody wants the constant expenditure of barrows armour. I'm not saying its not worth it, but some people just don't think the little bonuses are worth it.
  12. Tactics. You have plenty of items thats work fine. Don't sook about people teleporting. They are the smart ones, who take advantage of your imbalance. Do you people even realise WHY pures exist in the first place? Your combat level is based on HOW DANGEROUS YOU ARE IN COMBAT. That is how it is possible for a pure in this game. People aim to keep their combat level as low as possible. But that has side effects! If you had magic levels, you could just snare or entagle them when they try to run, or teleblock them at the start of a fight. If you had prayer levels, you could boost your stats, giving you an extra "edge". You chose not to have a balanced character. YOUR choice. Nobody elses. Jagex has never "hated" pures, like all the F2P PKers whinge about. They've always stated that balance is key. If you have a balanced character, pures should not be a serious threat to you, because you always have an option.
  13. I like to look at skilling like I look at university. You put forward a huge initial expense, and you don't make any money for quite a while, but it prepares you for later on in life and gives you future earning power. That's me trying to put a positive spin on the rs economy. Sure, it sucks raw materials are more expensive than finished products. But if you profit in the present really makes sense to you, then you'll get off your [wagon] and go and do the grunt work for a change.
  14. I think your memory is a bit off buddy :^o Care to elaborate? I've played since classic, on another player.. the only thing I missed off was dragon sword ;) I think you forgot 2 more :P
  15. ^^^ But one of the goals for a pure is to keep the combat level as low as possible. 9 Prayer levels is at least 1 combat level, and you next combat level will comes sooner. Not good news for a pure
  16. I think your memory is a bit off buddy :^o
  17. Unless those things actually are true. I'm sure a lot of "veterans" could go through their friends lists, and pick out a few accounts worth in the billions. And remember, people of all ages play this game, so its perfectly reasonable for somebody to have gone to school with zezima, or currently be at school with him now (If he's still in college) That would be pretty lame of you if you did flame dude. About 2 months ago when I started playing regularly again, I was only lvl 77, because I spent most of my time chatting with friends and merchanting. Does that make me less of a person than people who level up efficiently, and have stats that wipe the floor with mine? I think people do it to try and make their opinion "mean more". I think if anything, how long you've been playing really only reflects on which kind of RS community you experienced, and how well you can judge the evolution. I identify myself as an '02 starter, because A) I can prove that I started in '02 at the latest, and B) because thats the community I was most active in. Whether I missed 2 years or so since R2 came out is beside the point. I also find a lot of people make up their join date to go along with the made up story, because they can't keep track of the timeline of updates :P
  18. If you don't want respect you didn't earn, then why did you talk about your so called rares in first place? I think that's a way of trying to gain some respect, but well that just me. I think it would be better you either stop talking of all those rares of yours or then post a picture. Prove me wrong.. Good luck anyways. If read the thread you would notice I didn't bring up the subject of rares. All I stated was I have enough money to "bank" all the "buyable" skills, but I think that is a boring way to do it Thank you for proving my point, and your own stupidity. I have nothing to prove to a fool who wants to try and earn some e-fonzie points.
  19. As I've said previously, do some research. Spend maybe 30 seconds on the Jagex website to find your answer. As I'm on my phone, I can't feasibly respond to the posts until after work, but many of you are failing to see the bigger picture, and basing your posts on opinions, not experience. A company must always look towards the future, but in times like these, the short term matters just as much. Just thinking about supply & demand for a few minutes will show you just how intertwined finances are in this day and age. The fact that a majority of the world is entering a recession just proves it.
  20. I can no-life it :) Really though, it isn't shouldn't be that difficult. I got 25 levels yesterday. I'm obviously not expecting those kind of gains every day, but the theory is the money I make training combat, mining, woodcutting, etc goes towards boosting the "buyable" skills, which can be levelled pretty quickly. That's why I limited myself to a mil starting money, to make it interesting :) I don't need to turn a profit off this challenge, just make some pretty decent experience gains :) Yep, most of my "rares" are from when they were first dropped. A few of them were gifts from friends in the time after the event. No, you don't get a bank picture. At least, not the rares section. I'll clean the bank out tomorrow, and post a pic of the misc section. About the rare pics... If I don't show you one, then you'll just call me a liar, and flame me. If I do show you one, then you'll either call me a no lifer, or I'll be shown respect I didn't earn. As the cliche goes, I'd prefer people like me for who I am, and not what I have. Either way, it's a waste of my time.
  21. I just thought I'd add this in for some lulz.. I haven't got a smithing level since RSC... And I'm still ranked 231,676 in it :S [hide=30/10/2008]Well, it's 2am, and I just finished writing this, so I haven't got much done yet! Bought todays battlestaves. Sold them @ min. price. Then I bought 10k Iron ore @ 92gp, and 60 Rings of Forging at 1,036gp. Headed up to the salt pool, then home teleport back to lumbridge, then on to Al kharid! 70 Smithing is my first goal. This will give me approx. 1.8 million gp for the next skill.[/hide]
  22. I'm going to set some RS goals. By December the 3rd, I must have a skill total of 1440. By January the 2nd, I must have a skill total of 1560. By February the 2nd, I must have a skill total of 1680. My starting funds are restricted to 1 million GP. I will start with no weapons, armours, ore, herbs, etc. While I still have some of these things in my bank, they won't be used. If I fail to meet these goals, it will end up with me in the party room dropping my entire bank I've accumulated up to that point. Why am I doing this? Well, money isn't really an issue for me. I have more than enough assests to "bank" all the "buyable" skills, but that's boring :) I don't really have many friends on Runescape anymore. This is a way for me to keep the game interesting, rather than just keep investing. I found a stable way of keeping my gp tied up for the next 3 months. Who knows, it may even turn a profit!! The number of the left is my starting level. The number on the right, is my current level :) [hide=Stats list]Attack: 70/70 Strength: 70/70 Defence: 70/72 Hitpoints: 71/72 Ranged: 64/68 Magic: 69/69 Prayer: 50/51 Runecrafting: 48/48 Construction: 40/41 Agility: 44/45 Herblore: 50/50 Thieving: 53/60 Crafting: 55/56 Fletching: 71/71 Slayer: 45/52 Hunter: 56/56 Mining: 63/63 Smithing: 61/68 Fishing: 58/58 Cooking: 70/70 Firemaking: 60/70 Woodcutting: 67/67 Farming: 28/29 Summoning: 42/42 Total Level: 1375/1418 Combat Level: 92/93 Rank: 351,370/307,108 GP: 1,000,000 gp/1,400,000 gp[/hide] Note: I WILL NOT provide any pictures or trades of certain parts of my bank. All showing it ever does is cause problems. Feel free to accuse me of lying. Feel free to offer me some support, be it moral or materialistic, or add me to friends! 23. Craven Range: Because they have connections to other companies, who have investments. BANKS have investments. INSURANCE COMPANIES have investments. SUPERANNUATION FUNDS have investments. If a companys net worth decrease rapidly, say by their investments dropping in value, they will more than likely have to raise the price of their goods and services to increase income. Liquid assets aren't everything in business. The business' overall value is just as important for its future. And companies must look towards the future to be successful, be it in 5 years time or 30 years time. What I was explaining then is how share prices dropping can affect people who have very little connections to the investment market. For the time being. This paragraph is to prematurely answer that question, which I assumed would be raised because of the US government doing it. Incase you didn't know, Britain also has a rescue plan in the works, worth over 250 billion pounds. Jagex is based there, correct? What would make those companies go under? Read my posts you are quoting, and you will see just how it can happen. Plenty of people, and families, make their sole income from trading. Banks in Iceland, Britain and America are already losing money fast. Governments all over the world are introducing "bailout" plans, which will eventually lead to higher taxes, which can lead to inflation. You contradicted yourself in your last comment. You think I'm wrong, yet admit I'm right?
  24. Nice one. ISP = internet service provider. Sometimes it is not as simple as "just swapping". Jagex does not own their own servers, they rent them. In both cases, there are these tiny little things called contracts. You can't "just swap". If the ISP or server companies go under, and can no longer honour their contracts, Jagex is out of pocket. Sue them? Sure, but THAT takes time, and money, which the company has none of. Jagex decides to pull out? They have to pay out their contract, or get sued. Jagex includes PRIVATE HEALTH CARE in their salary packaging. So, your argument there is flawed. Even cutting jobs costs money. You can't simply fire people in this day and age. If they cut jobs, it also cuts output, which further decreases earning potential. Take a minute to think, and maybe do a little research before you post.
