  1. My luck has always been pretty average, but it clusters. I'll get good drops/clues for a while, then nothing for a while.
  2. Whatever's behind that fence probably has to do with the original inhabitants of that island. If you talk to the clothing shop owner, you can ask him about a "strange rock" there, and you learn of some strange relics and missing peoples.
  3. It seems that the monster will be in multi-combat wild, which is interesting. That will mean that very few people would risk kill this monster, so it will be mostly deserted. But, if this monster drops something new and useful, the few clans strong and brave enough to kill it will be guaranteed wealth. I don't think putting the monster in wild is a bad idea, it's just a new level of challenge. It doesn't really affect me, I never kill the big monsters in this game and definitely wouldn't risk it in wild.
  4. If you get scammed because you don't look at the second trade screen, you can really only blame yourself.
  5. I opened the chest today and got the stone and an addy square shield, I didn't know that was possible before.
  6. It's a good thing I bought the items I wanted early on, it seems pretty hard to buy these items with so few fresh ones coming on the market. Personally, I've never had any real interest in fighting dag kings or the other big monsters. Steel dragons are the most dangerous monster that I've killed more than once.
  7. Yes, the new potatoes are a lot of work. But, in some places, every possible advantage is very important. Tuna potatoes will definitely be used by some people trying for a fire cape. Also, stakers who duel with food, and some pkers will use this advantage. It can't be argued that these are useless next to sharks, when we already see that many people will go to a lot of trouble for a small bonus. For example, people will go to the trouble of getting infinity boots, which are only one point above wizard. These potatoes won't be used for training, but we're not expected to train with them.
  8. Edit: Removed my original post, it shouldn't have been on this thread. So, the only slayer item they drop is steel boots? Nothing new? Then I guess I won't bother. I wonder if the lanterns are a safe light source, like mining helms and bullseye lanterns.
  9. I've had a 360 respawn like that on me once or twice. I leave protect from magic on for a couple extra seconds to be safe.
  10. I just noticed that my post was edited. Thank you, Admin, for protecting the populace, but I was completely joking. *Moves his hand over his head with the palm facing down, from front to back, quickly.* Whoosh!
  11. Well let's see... I've had enough mines to get all emotes and enough pieces to make up around two sets. I've had a couple freaky foresters. I've had at least 5 frogs, probably. I intentionally got turned into a frog once so I could unlock the song. I've had a drill demon once, got camo top. By the way, I have firsthand experience that full mime, laderhosen hats, frog masks, full prince, frog tokens, and camo tops all alch for 0 gp. Kind of a waste of nats.
  12. I have everything I could possibly need and about one and a half empty screens. You need to clean out the cobwebs. Maybe I'd post my bank so other people could be inspired, if I wasn't too lazy to take screenies and get them hosted.
  13. I think scim and whip have the same game value, but apparently scims win in a tie. I don't know how the game decides that. I wouldn't call this a scam. I'm not a pker, but I think it's clever. It's not reportable, anyway. Who could be banned for giving something away? As for actual scams, I'm not sure that it's a good idea to post about them. Yes, those posts will warn some players about the scam. But it's also likely that a few people will be inspired to use the trick they read about.
  14. Definitely new. There's also one of those symbols in Aggie's house in draynor, that's where I noticed it.
  15. Sheesh, I'd really have to train. A LOT. Maybe I'd be a skills noob...
  16. I knew someone would see the reference. :)
  17. Shilo village, top floor of the Inn. You have to buy a "Paramaya ticket" from an NPC to go to the top floor, and then there's nothing there. That area used to be useful for getting rid of fatigue in RSC, but now there's just this remnant. Here's a better one, that someone sort of mentioned. When doing the watchtower quest, you'll have to enter some caves to find some skavids. If you have the skavid map and a light source, going into a cave entrance there will bring you into a small room with skavids and items. If you have a light source and no map, or neither of the two items, entering a cave entrance will just put you at another cave entrance. BUT, if you have the skavid map and no light source, you'll reach a very large room, with no NPC's in it. It has many searchable rocks (with no purpose as far as I can tell), and several climbing ropes that can be used to exit. I'll keep thinking, there's probably more.
  18. Even though I've never been hacked, yes I have a PIN, which is [Error stp-198 - sent data corruption] [Admin edit: Did you just told what your PIN is? I removed the text]
  19. Bubsa summed it up perfectly. If you want to know more, read this entire thread.
  20. To make cabbage work as a currency we'd need a Cabbage Alchemy spell.
  21. Items like fire cape are excellent for showing high player status, but personally, I find it comforting to be able to buy an item, if it proves to be too hard for me to get. With all the stress I've already experienced on the times I've died to Tztok-Jad, I'd much rather earn the money to buy a cape than have to kill him for it. However, I definitely support untradable items for having high skills like 90 slayer, etc., because there's nothing stressful about training for a high level. It just takes longer.
  22. There is a famous book by Joseph Conrad, called "Heart of Darkness", which was adapted into a movie called "Apocolypse Now". In the book, we meet a man named Kurtz, who has spent many years of his life living at an ivory outpost on the Congo, far away from any civilization. Without any usual social pressures on Kurtz, he slowly loses all his morals, and gives into his urges fantastically. He kills and steals as he sees fit. He uses his naturally persuasive voice to make the natives believe he is a god. Here, we see the terrible, true nature of a man's soul when he is freed of social restraints. In Runescape, there is a similar freedom. You can bombard people with abuse, with no actual repercussions. The worst case is banning, and then you can come back with a new character and continue to wreak havoc. A person's true soul is shown when they can behave any way they choose. Some people will get into this habit of incorrigible behavior, and then they will treat all people in Runescape this way, even if they know the person in real life. Your girlfriend has a Heart of Noobness.
  23. The next time someone leaves a lot of flowers stuck in the ground somewhere around people, I want to see some whites and blacks in the mix.
  24. I haven't tried WoW, but most of my real-life friends who used to play RS moved to that game. I've worried that I was missing out, but from the looks of CWolf's post, I don't have to worry about that. I do a lot more non-combat than those friends did, it makes sense that I'd like it better here. Yes, raising the price would keep more kids out of the game. But the downside to that is that it would cost more money.
